Let's hear it for easy fun and creativity
This adorable lightweight camera is perfect for people who want a unique look to their photos but don't have the money to invest in fancy camera bodies and wide-angle lenses. The fisheye camera is as easy to use as any point-and-click, and it's fixed-focus lens means no zooming, focusing, or other photographic buzz-killers. What you see is what you get, wrapped into a gently bended shape with vignetted corners. The only consideration is that you must photograph well-lit subjects or shoot outside, as there is no aperature or shutter speed control-but it's a lot of fun!! I read the comments (even the bad one) before I purchased this camera. I took a chance because for something that might be really cool, its only $40. And he was right, the viewfinder is useless, but they even tell you that in the manual. Also, you do have to get really close to the subject, and shots only come out good if there's LOTS of light (especially indoor). Anyway, my first set of prints came out just okay, with a few amazing shots. From that set of prints I learned how to maximize the potential of this camera. The key is to fill up the frame. I took a shot of my friend out in a parking lot. The foreground was just her and the background was the sky. It came out so cool because the entire frame had something in it. There were scattered clouds everywhere, if the sky had been clear it would have just been clear blue space. But because I filled up the frame with objects everywhere, there were things to be distorted with the fisheye. I took another shot of the courtyard of a tall apartment building. That came out great because there were so many vertical lines and the fisheye could bend them. This camera doesn't take great pictures by itself so don't expect it to. Great Buy for the money
This is a great buy if you are just wanting to have some fun, with no real investment.Although it does go beyond 17 feet, and that is not as far as you may think.But, I used it while snorkeling and the pictures turned out great, and i am sure a few were more than 17 feet.
Excellent for SCUBA
If you are reluctant to invest $$$ in a 'real' underwater camera, this will do fine as a temporary solution.

The quick snap camera was very good.My husband and I took it snorkeling and cave tubing.It was great for snorkeling because we went on a sunny day, but if the clouds passed over or we were in a shady spot under the water, it wasn't so great.About half of our pictures came out really nice.It was not so good on the cave tubing trip because we were in a cave and needed a flash.If you use it on a sunny day, you will love it.Otherwise, try to get one with a flash. ... unhappy results
I purchased this camera for a friend to use in Hawaii.We had nothing but problems getting it to wind properly and the pictures both on land and underwater were all blurred and my friend was very unhappy and I was frustrated.I do not know if this is just a bad camera or what.

good pictures
I used this camera in the pool to get ready for our family cruise.It works great.You do need to read the manuel prior to use and follow the directions.Works great in water in the case and works great on land with very sharp pictures.

affordable underwater pictures
I bought this camera at Divers Outlet in Florida City, Florida. They had 2 of them on a clearance table for $39.99 each. I went off a dive boat in Key Largo and when I was in the dive shop at the John Pennicamp State Beach down the road I noticed they had the same camera for RENTAL at a price of $25.00 for the day. I haven't developed the film yet, but the flash was ready after a few seconds between shots and you can't beat that price with a stick. The case didn't leak at all, although I only dove that "Christ Statue" which is only like 25ft down. An excellent alternative to a digital camera if your'e poor white trash like me. ... Read more

Excellent quality, and provides vital insurance if you will be near water.
I work at a professional photofinishing lab, and I can attest to the quality of the film inside this camera.The Kodak Water & Sport camera provides excellent results both in and out of the water.It performs comparably to the Kodak HQ Max Versatility camera; it produces a high-quality image in most situations.
Do Not Waste Your Money on this Camera!!!
I was extremely disappointed with this camera.It's a shame there is no option for zero stars, because it doesn't even deserve one.I bought two of them for a vacation to Belize because we were planning to do a lot of activities in and around the water, and we were hoping to capture those memories without risk to our digital camera.Now I really regret not putting a little more money into a waterproof case for our digital camera rather than wasting money on this camera and developing pictures that were only worthy of the garbage can.
grainy pictures, camera jammed
My husband and I bought two of these to take on a cruise for our snorkling outting. Due to weather, the snorkeling was canceled, but we did end up using the cameras.One we used for regular pictures, outdoor only, beacuse there's no flash, and it was okay, though the pictures were a bit grainy. The other I took on a camping trip with some high school kids and the camera jammed a few pictures into the roll, I could turn and turn the winder, and the film wouldn't advance, but it would let me take another picture. I love you, Supersampler
I really enjoy this camera. It is cheaply made and I feel like I have to be very careful not to break it especially while advancing the film but it takes some great pictures. On a roll of 24 I had about 1/2 a roll of great photos. It's a lot of fun and experiment with. The packaging is very cool and it somes with a little book of photos taken with the camera that are really neat.

Fun while it lasted . . .
I bought this as a present for my room mate and he took some pictures and it was fun, but halfway through the first roll of film the string (which is the shutter release) broke.
cheapo but neato
Just got my first roll back of Supersampler photos. The camera is extremely fragile and cheap in feel and in cost and is the antithesis of the Canon 300D I usually shoot with. But the results are just so different and cool, it's well worth the investment. The total lack of controls (even a viewfinder!) makes every picture a guess, and makes the results even more rewarding. mine broke too :[
It broke after my 3rd roll.
it broke
i had this camera for maybe about a month, and i only got to take one roll of film before it broke on me. the film advance lever is really cheaply made of plastic, so it had a hard time pulling the film across and then eventually it just broke on me. What a waste of 40 dollars! its a pretty interesting camera, but if it can't even survive pulling your film across the camera, whats the point of it.

Really fun and different
I've had this camera for about 3 months and I think it's very unique and is definitely worth trying out. The only thing that I can think of that is a disadvantage is that it doesn't have a flash- you must take all pictures in sunlight or they don't turn out. It's really fun to take pictures of things like birds or cars on the highway because you get a completely different image in each of the eight images. I would recommend it for anyone into art. ... Great Camera...Onlyif can get the drivers to work!
This camera is exceptional.I am not going to go into it all but I can tell you it's clear, colors are true, and night vision pretty darn good.The resolution is much better than a PC camera.The biggest problem is that this is not USB capable, thereforeyou have to plug it into a PCI card.It is a hassle trying to get the software to notice this device...I'm using a PC-DVR-4 Card & software and they do not talk well together.Once you do get it to work, don't try to uninstall the software, or your hassles start all over again.They need to develop the software and plug & play behind this which is the biggest disappointment of all. ... Good little camera for the price
Not bad at all for the price.I had a very sophisticated camera before so this one is a bit simplistic - BUT it still takes photos.I would NOT advise using 400 speed film AND the flash - all the pictures came out a surreal blue.Stays nice and dry - LOVE the wrist strap!

When a product gets a couple of good reviews and a LOT of bad ones, you have to suspect something is wrong. Listen to your suspicions in this case. Those two good reviews here on Amazon may be true, but then why so many bad reviews? And one reviewer wrote that he put silicon grease on the gasket...nothing in the instructions about that. So one of the positive reviews actually modified the product to make it work!
No leaks for me

Great camera if you can still find one!
I received this camerera as a prize and would recommend it to anyone.We use this camera as our primary camera for everything!I took it in with me when my daughter was born, snorkeling, fishing, hiking and I have now handed it to my now toddler.If you have had a toddler, they can break anything with the exception of this ELPH SPORT.I have had this camera for 4 years and have nothing but good things to say!

Good camera, good value.
My camera has really stood up to the elements and multiple beatings.It has worked well for me taking pictures underwater and in the surf, and has also been to the top of multiple 20,000+ feet mountains.Dropped countless times on rock, snow, sand, and also dunked as much into water.I have learned to force the flash on anything but super sunny days - the pics come out a bit dark in conditions other cameras would have no problem with, and i've found it could really use a filter in intense light situations.Nothing you wouldn't expect from a specialty use camera.Just bought a second spare one for when the first one finally does give up - which i don't think will be for a long time. Ultimate Combination of Features and Quality
If you are considering buying an APS camera, then you should look no further. Note, however, that APS film is a bit more expensive than regular 35mm film, but it is much more versatile (standard Normal, Group, and Panoramic modes, etc). The reason why this camera so great is most obviously its design. The case is waterproof as well as shockproof. After taking it with me hiking, I tripped three times, each time with the camera in my hand (in its little case), and showed no signs of damage, and still worked great underwater. For me, this is great, as I usually end up losing things in my messy room, and hence they usually get banged around. This camera is durable, and therefore there is no worry. Its waterproofing is great feature, as I am constantly taking pictures on my boat, at the beach, or outside where there is always the chance of rain. You don't have to worry about keeping your camera dry, nor does it become a problem if you leave you bag with the camera in it someplace where it might accidentally get wet. The design is extremely easy to use, and the pictures are great (use 400 speed film, its the most versatile). The only bad thing is that you have to fairly responsible about cleaning the camera after salt-water use. Now, I have never done this, and the camera still works fine. Furthermore, this thing is tiny, suprisingly smaller than the most compact 35mm's. You'll be suprised at how small it is (it's not too small though). It also has bumps on the back to help you grip the camera with one hand. To anyone who is concerned about zoom, on most compact camera, APS or 35mm, they barely make that much of a difference. And to anyone considering going digital, I say just get a scanner. Your picture quality will be much better. Recommended without reservation. Its the kind of camera you can just throw in your bag and never have to worry about. One last thing, when you first put it underwater, you will see bubbles coming out. real panoramic shots
i have the horizon 202 and the shots are really quite impressive.as opposed to "panoramic" shots from other cameras that just cut off the tops and bottoms of the frame, this camera really pulls in 120 degree wide shots.wonderful for scenery and vistas.

Nice toy, but not all that practical
The images on this unit are fantastic. Works both above water and below. We were amazed at the view of the schools of bluegills, then the rocks, then the rock ledge.....Got so busy watching the screen, I didn't watch where we drifted! But anyway, it's good for objects within very close range. We used it in an Arkansas lake with about 17 ft visibility and could really only see objects within a few feet of the camera. Based on our experience, if you try and use it in a muddy lake, you won't see anything unless you are on top of it.

Best underwater camera around
My Vectis has been through thick and thin with me and never let me down. It was expensive at the time I bought it (1999) but the pictures it has taken are priceless and it still performs like a champ. I've decided to retire mine and take the plunge with a digital but would replace it if I could find one for a reasonable price. They seem to be hard to come by anymore. Im guessing people like myself just keep them until they fall apart.

I have had my Minolta Vectis Weathermatic for about 4 years and have used it mainly when sailing and around boats and beaches.It always produces good shots and has never let me down.I am on my 3rd battery which I think is pretty reasonable.I like it because it is chunky and solid and can take the knocks and drops.I have never used it underwater but it shrugs off immersion in waves and sitting on (and in) a hot, sandy beach.
