1-0 out of 5 stars OMG!!!
This has got to be the worst camera out there. I don't even think it's suitable for my 13 year old son. The pictures come out horrible! Good thing it was purchase mainly with gift certificates. I'm still sorry I wasted them on this piece of junk!

5-0 out of 5 stars FOR THE SIZE- IT'S A GREAT little POCKET CAMERA
Ok... the design didn't win any electronics awards, but as far as functionality goes: it works, it's tiny and it can fit anywhere. THUMBS UP!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Awful Camera
I purchased this camera for my daughter for Christmas. It was small, compact, and fairly inexpesive, perfect for a preteen. First, it took forever to charge (the instructions indicate that it takes four hours). After waiting for hours, my daughter attempted to take pictures, but the camera would not work. The manual shows several different symbols that you should see in the LCD display, but none of these symbols appeared on this camera. I am returning the camera immediately and I would not advise anyone to purchase one. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Sharp little camera
A simple camera that takes great pictures under limited conditions--no flash,no zoom, but wonderful for the money!Very easy to carry and use.

4-0 out of 5 stars a good product could be superb
A wonderful camera is now a super bargain.
1-0 out of 5 stars Hmmm...maybe better as a web cam
This may be more of an issue of wanting to get the right first digital camera for a youngster (a mature 8 yr. old). This is not the camera for this purpose. Image quality was poor. And the build is not ready for young boy energy. Furthermore, if you are lucky enough to find this out within the 15 day return grace period, you will still pay a 15% restocking fee (from Computerbrain.com). It was worth $7.50 to have it out of my life. I guess I'll just need to fork it over for something a bit more robust. This may be a fine camera for very limited applications like a stationary webcam. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice little camera.
I suppose the "little" should be re-worded. It's not the lightest, or smallest out there, by a long shot, but I really enjoy this camera.Sure, the floppy technology is going the way of the dodo, but it is still nice to have the convenience, to have it if you need it.
4-0 out of 5 stars Manager
We love the convienence of having a floppy disk to store photos on, the camer may not take the best quality photos but it is sufficent for what we need.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very good but on limited use
I use this camera for work and it works very well. The only problem I have had with it is after a few months of taking 30 to 40 pictures a day it won't read a disk.I comes up with a formating error.I have had to send it out for repairs twice already.Other then that the picture quality and options are very nice. ... Sony deserves much of the credit for bringing digital photography to the masses. Americans have purchased more Mavicas than any other line of digital camera--and with good reason. The Mavicas feature high-quality optics and excellent battery life in an easy-to-use package. Yet the camera's biggest asset--floppy-disk image storage--is also its biggest liability. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Camera
It isn't the newest model, and it is a little bulky, but as far as the images, especially close-up, it's a nice camera. I have been trying to find something "newer" and lighter, which can do similar pictures up close, and have had no luck.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good camera for fast performance, low resolution results
I have used this camera since the late 1990s for mostly professional purposes. I write and edit a newsletter for a state agency and am often asked to take photos at award programs and/or to accompany job announcements, often with almost no prior notice.
3-0 out of 5 stars If you like hard copies...this camera isn't for you
Given camera as a gift, and as a novice is incredibly easy to use.However...I quickly discovered (after spending nearly $100 on prints) that obtaining quality 4x6 prints is not an option. In order to get decent resolution I am limited to wallet sized pictures.Bottom line??? If you prefer to thumb through a photo album years later, strongly consider a different camera with higher mega pixels. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars PIECE OF JUNK
Do NOT buy this camera. My father purchased this camera for my daughter at the beginning of December and gave it to her as a Christmas present.I contacted the company the second week of January and asked if I could either return it or exchange it for a different model. There was no reply.I contacted them again a week later and they said to send them examples of the pictures.I sent samples a few days later, again, no reply. Now I was totally frustrated and contacted them again and said I just wanted to return the camera. They said that since it had been two months since the camera was purchased I couldn't return it or exchange it for a different model.(The majority of that time I was waiting for a reply from them) I could mail it back to them and they will look at it and see if anything was wrong. It is not worth the two dollars it would cost me to mail back. I don't think anything is wrong, I think it is a piece of junk.My kids Fisher-Price camera takes better pictures than this. This is a horrible camera and the company has horrible customer service.I will never buy another Argus camera again.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME CAMERA!
This is one of the most easy to use cameras I have ever been able to get my hands on! I take it every where! If you are in a dark area, you need to open up the windows, and it is great quality! For all those people that say their pictures are fuzzy, they need to figure out how to use the focus on the lens. It is as simple as that. I have even played the videos made with this camera on a home theater system that is about 10 by 10 feet big and it looks fantastic. If you want a great, conveniant camera, I highly recommend this!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay Camera
This camera is a lot of fun.Must be really close to target to get good shots.Good starter camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars You get more than you pay for
I got this camera for Christmas 2005, and I absolutely loved it, mostly because I had always wanted a camera. I am a bit disturbed that it doesn't have flash, but it's a pocket-sized video camera, and video cameras don't need flash. It also doesn't have autofocus, but you really only have to focus it a little bit for close-up or far away. In low light the camera is colorblind and does not detect green, but I just avoid night pictures. I would find a Canon or similar for flash, but this will do well for videos. The microphone is quite good with a good pickup range, but the built-in speaker is terrible. I stuck Lithium AA's into it to create cheaper maintenance, and I reccomend an extra memory card in addition to the built-in memory. It comes with a computer cable, tripod, TV cable, software, camera, and instruction manual. No batteries or CompactFlash card. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth a spot in my trash can
Fortunately, this camera was free from Dell. You get what you pay for. With forty years of photography experience with my Minolta SLR, I seldom take a bad picture. However before trashing this beast, I took 50 pictures in varying lighting conditions and got 49 totally unacceptable pictures. The problems were over-exposure and multiple images using the built-in flash, almost non-existent contrast range (at best only a couple of f-stops), horribly long 2 to 3 seconds shutter lag.The camera's only redeeming feature is the built-in memory holds a lot of pictures, at least 100.

1-0 out of 5 stars Time to give retirement for this free camera
. Poor video quality if used as a webcam1-0 out of 5 stars Worst. Camera. Ever.

Despite the fact that Hewlett-Packard has produced a number of successful digital cameras in the past and is one of the biggest manufacturers of photo-quality printers, the company's lack of experience in film cameras has made it difficult for the public to take them seriously in this field. To help change this perception, Hewlett-Packard has paired up with Pentax for its latest product, and each company has contributed its expertise. The result is a pair of identical cameras: the HP 618 and the Pentax EI 200. With the exception of labels, packaging, and included accessories, the two cameras are the same.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera for the Price
I have had this camera for about a year and I love it. All in all we have taken about 2000 pictures with it and we love the b/w, color, or sepia option. I have taken some really beautiful pictures that are worthy of being framed and out on the wall. I have noticed the battery problem but that is easily fixed by getting rechargeable batteries and putting the quality on good (you still get great pictures). I would say that we can take 125-150 straight shots with the rechargeable batteries. I have not had to talk to HP tech support so I can't comment on that. We did take this camera to Hawaii and got about 400 absolutely great pictures. I also found that it is incredibly easy to download and email my pictures. Once they are downloaded I email them to friends/family or I burn them onto a CD for people as a photo album, it saves a ton of money. I think a lot of the problems that other reviewers have run into have less to do with the actually camera as it does with either tech support, or technology problems with their computers. If you follow the setup instructions, this camera is very easy to use on the computer and a lot of fun to take pictures with.

1-0 out of 5 stars not worth the effort
The camera took great pictures, but downloading from it to the computer would not work. I had to buy a card reader. Battery life was very short. The camera circuit board blew in less than 18 months and would cost $250 to fix, making it worthless. I'll never buy another HP camera.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it!
I bought this camera more than a year ago. I'd rate it 5 stars except that I had the following problem: The door of my battery compartment got broken! The problem looks silly enough, but upon calling HP they "simply" told me that my product is 'out-of-warranty' and they don't service it anymore. Even worse, they offered a trade up with a newer model. After checking the prices for the newer models, it turned out that they're buying back my camera for less! All the service centers that I could find on their websites told me that they don't service digital cameras (not only mine). So here I am with a great camera that's totally useless because of a broken plastic part and a lousy customer service. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sony Mavica Digital Camera
I agree 1000% with the other 2 reviewers, the Mavica Camera is an excellent choice for anyone who sells on Ebay or to send e-mail pictures.. All my friends make fun of how big and bulky it is but hey, I like it and the quality of the pics are very good .. Its so easy to use, you put the pics on a floppy, make files for whatever subject you want.. All the kids names , my cars, nature etc. just download the pics from the floppy to the file and its done, the floppy is clean and everything is on your hard drive.. I own 2 Collector Cars and I go to a lot of car shows and cruise ins and I am always taking pics of cars , truck & bikes.. I have owned a FD 73 for at least 7 years and an FD 75 for about 2 years and I love them both.. I paid over $ 500.00 for the first one but it was worth every penny :) Its also invaluable for my Ebay Business, very easy to use for that as well.. If you get a chance to pick one up (even if you already own one of those 1 million pixel cameras) do it, you won't regret it.. Thanks Pete C.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still using my Mavica, 2nd review
I originally reviewed this camera March '01 and just found my review on a web search. I gave it a "5" and still do - easy to use and great price. The floppies save you from crawling around hooking stuff behind the computer- always a nightmare in MY office! For online selling the pics are great, closeups are the only letdown and if you are very careful you can do "ok" but not great.Still a big bang for the buck and it's been A+++ for function, not a problem ever and I'm a heavy user. A solid buy, you could do much worse!

4-0 out of 5 stars Mavica MVC-FD75
I'm no techie and like things simple, straightforward and easy to use. This camera fits the bill.I limit digital photography to web usage, sending pics via email, looking at pics on my computer or TV via DVD player, posting pics on eBay and hobby websites, etc. and this camera is perfect for those purposes. The use of floppy discs is particularly nice and so is the outstanding macro/close-up capability. If you plan to blow up pics fairly large and print them, a higher resolution camera may be preferable, but for 95% of my needs this camera is perfect and so much easier to use than my wife's fancy, expensive, high resolution camera with more of bells and whistles. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE my little Elph!!!!!!!!
Well, it's been over 3 years since I had it and I love it!!! It's just awesome! It's tiny, the battery life is great, the pictures are wonderful, LOTS of features. The ONLY thing is when you're using flash, it's a little slow. I was impressed with Canon and purchased a bigger SLR Digital Rebel for my "big projects" :) But the little Elph is still my #1 point and shoot!

5-0 out of 5 stars Point and shoot that fits in your pocket
A really great camera that just slips into your pocket. Great to carry around all the time so you can take shots of whatever takes your fancy. Easy to recharge too with its handy battery recharger.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful little camera!
I've had this camera for a little over a year and a half now and I just love it.It's really small, which is a huge plus.Because of the small size, it's very convenient to take with you and that means you end up taking more pictures than you normally would.I've chronicled most of the little and big events I have gone to with it.Even though it's just 2 megapixels, that is more than adequate for me--I don't rely on it for professional shots, just mostly snapshots.I have printed some photos through shutterfly, and they came out looking great. You could tell that they weren't quite as sharp as those from a regular camera, but I had taken them at the medium compression setting. They were definitely framable though and you probably couldn't tell that they were digicam pics unless you inspected them close up.I suspect pics taken at superfine would be even better.Rendition of colors is truly remarkable, and I have received many compliments from friends on this.Canon sure does seems to know what they're doing when it comes to optics.Any photos I've taken with bright colors (landscapes, flowers, etc.) came out breathtaking. The camera is made of metal, so it has a nice, high quality "heft" to it.The photo management software that it comes with is awesome--intuitive and easy to use.It may run slow on old computers though, if you have a lot of photos in your albums.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Camera on the Market for eBay
I am an eBay dealer in antiques, coins and collectibles of every stripe. My camera is a key component of my livelihood, and I can say unequivocally that the FD90 is the best camera for online merchandise photos out there. It may be a little bulky for outdoor everyday use, and the internal charger would be quite limiting for a vacation camera. But I never unplug my camera, so that makes no difference to me.

3-0 out of 5 stars When it's good, it's very good...when it's bad, It's pretty bad
I did a lot of research before choosing the Meade CaptureView 8x42 2MP Digital Camera Binocular. This one offers the most for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, the one reason you're probably looking to buy it will be nothing at all like what you were expecting.
1-0 out of 5 stars Bad pictures, bulky to use.
The main reason for buying this camera is to be able to take good pictures from far away. The quality is very poor. The unit is very bulky to carry around your neck. The SD card slot has some block in it. I was not able to even insert an SD card. All in all, not satisfied at all.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money.
The binocs are really nice and sharp, but you can purchase just as good for less.

I purchased this camera (2 of them) for my kids (ages 14 & 15)as their first digital camera. They are having a lot of fun with them.My daughter has figured out how to put the pictures she takes on her "MySpace".It does not have auto focus.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great little camera
Overall this digital camera is great for novice users. The camera is very easy to use because of its well-labeled parts and simple menus. With all of the features and for the price, the pictures and movies are great. The only problems that I have found are that the camera has no flash, there are beeps when turning it on that will not shut off in any menu, and without a memory card it does not hold very many pictures. In the end, this is a great, cheep camera for low level to mid level users.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Digital Camcorder
I have loved this digital camcorder from the first time I used it. For the size it is, it is an awfully good camera. It has many features, like a video recorder, voice recorder, digital still camera, and can be used as a webcam. This product takes very good pictures, if you are in good lighting. If you aren't the pictures may be hard to see. Seeing as there is no flash you have to have light in the background. If you want to be able to take for than 16 pictures at a time I suggest you get a compact flash memory card to hold them on. Also same thing for movies, to take a lone movie you have to have a memory card, there isn't enough memory built into the system to be able to take a long movie. Another thing is the battery runs out fast, if you goes low while you are using the camera your pictures may not be saved. So make sure you watch the amount of power in the batteries before it is to late. I guess you can say you get what you pay for seeing as this is an inexpensive camera. Overall, this camera is great if you have good lighting, a memory card, and long lasting batteries. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Digital Camera that thinks it's a tank!
I bought this camera when i was a sophmore in college. And now, 2 years out of college, a handfull of beautiful days, a half-dozen life changing moments, and umpteen vacations later it's still goes with me everywhere and snaps photographs.all the sticker labels on it have since been knocked off but it doesn't matter because i know what they all do.This puppy is built to last. When I eventually pass this one down in the family and buy a new one, I'll be getting another canon for sure.
4-0 out of 5 stars One of the better *compact* cameras for beginners
I bought this camera for the same reason many of you are considering it, or have already bought it--it's size.It is amazingly small, it's hard to believe all that has been packed into this camera.I take it with me everywhere, literally, it is so small that I am able to keep it in my pocket, and I don't have to fear that it will get ruined in my pocket because it is so durable. There is also a small covering for the lens, so you need not worry that the lens will get scratched.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very handy second camera
I've had this camera for three years.I bought it new, when it was cutting edge and very expensive.I put a 128MB CF card in it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera, Excellent Price
Great starter camera that is very user friendly with absolutely no learning curve.Extremely sturdy unlike new more sophisticated models.

1-0 out of 5 stars Blurry pictures
I have had this camera for about five years and thought the poor photos were me.But after all this time the camera is still taking bad shots.Grainy(sp) pictures.

4-0 out of 5 stars I'm Impressed
This camera was another one of those gifts I couldn't use because I wouldn't upgrade from Windows 95, and truth be told I just liked film, so the little camera found its way into the closet; however, when I upgraded to an iMac last summer I hooked it up and was very impressed with the results (I've included six examples in the "share a photo" section, all were taken with the "Fine" photo quality setting (1200X1600 resolution.) A "Basic" (640X480) and "SuperFine" (1200X1600) are also available.

4-0 out of 5 stars Unbeatable price and features when purchased in 2003
We still use it with no problems. So much has changed since then in digital cameras. But extremely reliable.

3-0 out of 5 stars Batteries
The batteries drain so fast. 1st I thought it was battery problem so I bought a new set, but within weeks i was haveing the same problem again and my father in law has different digital and they last so much loneger.I can put a pair of batteries in take 2 pictures and there dead by the next day and the camera also wreck the battery as they can't hold a charge.
5-0 out of 5 stars Nice
I got this as a birthday present several years ago. i still use it alot today. I have had a "whited out" problem, as other people have stated, but very rarely, and i can tell when its whited out and delete it and try again. Although it can be bothersome, ive never missed a good shot. The downsides are: picture taking delay, my brothers 3.2 megapixel camera takes the picture instantly, whereas if im riding in the car, i have to time my picture. the delay just after you turn it on is about 2.5 - 4 seconds, which is pretty bad, but the preceeding pictures take about 1 second. I barely use the auto flash, its too sensitive, it will only automatically turn the flash off if light is shining directly at it. for example, if youre in a brightly lit room, it will still use the flash. The only other thing i can think of is that its card isnt as widely used as other cards such as SD, so there may be a few things it isnt campatible with. but i reccomend it to anyone who wants a good quality, durable, inexpensive camera. i love it and ive had it for a long time! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Battery problem a big downer
If you're having a problem with the battery life, judging on other reviews, you aren't the only one. This camera does work decently when the batteries are working. It takes video with sound in addition to the pics.If you have a HP computer and printer like me, the software loading pics/video is even easier.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good for the price/bad warrenty service/eats batteries quick
I got this camera about half a year ago, and it worked quite well. However, unless you use full optical zoom, the edges of the photos are bent outwards. This camera also eats batteries much faster than my Kodak DX6340 did. I had a problem with the software that came with my camera so I have to use the Kodak Easyshera software instead. Also, this camera records audio videos, but you can only hear the audio on the computer.
3-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for
This an acceptable digital camera, not much more. It's a solid value if you find it for less than $75 or so, but I personally would pay more for a Kodak or Olympus with similar specs next time around.

3-0 out of 5 stars Dark Pictures
I don't know if three is an accurate rating but almost all of my indoor pictures are dark. I have to be three feet or less to get a good picture. Are all cameras like this?
4-0 out of 5 stars Sony Mavica Floppy Disk 100
I have purchased this particular camera due to its ability to record images to the floppy disk. I traveled across the country by bicycle and uploaded pictures from public libraries along the way, where computers would not allow to install software and have USB port, but always had available floppy drives. This worked very well!5-0 out of 5 stars Almost two years and still loving it!
I bought my Mavica as my first digital camera and have never been disappointed with it.It has travelled everywhere with me and has taken many awesome pictures. It was very easy to learn to use and the manual for it is well written and understandable.Read more

...this camera is great cuz the best part you take pictures are they are on floppy already so you can jus email, save or print them out instantly...no more connecting to USB port and all that hassel!...trust me its worth the price you pay! Its includes a car charger to recharge the battery if your taking a road trip...;-)...great product for college kids!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera for the 35 mm professional
I have owned this camera for over 2 years now, and absolutely love this camera. It takes great pictures.I normally use the 640x480 pixel option.I normally get about 23 pictures to the floppy on this setting. There is an exposure modifier, which will allow you to darken bright pictures, and brighten dark pictures, by modifying the apeture, and shutter speed. They are both controlled automatically, but they are adjustable up to +1.5 to -1.5.There is also auto, or manual white balance, for use in compensation for incandescent, and florescent lighting. There is a 14x optical zoom, one of the best in the industry. There is a 52mm ring, for attaching filters. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Camera was good until the lens cover broke
I bought this camera in April 2003 and have taken alot of good pictures with it. I used the viewer mostly so I didn't have trouble with batteries.
1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible! That's Why I Got It Free With My Dell
I agree with Lagenfeld's review "Not worth buying". It takes forever to take a picture after you press the shutter. Drains batteries in an instant. It doesn't even take good pictures for how much it drains the batteries. You'll be spending $20 for batteries everytime. Even if you get chargeable batteries, you'll be tired of charging them ever so constantly and if you go somewhere and don't have an outlet to plug the charget into, you'll be missing great shots. You have to keep reprogramming your settings on the camera, because it never saves your settings everytime you turn it off. THE COLOR IS ALWAYS WAY TOO BRIGHT OR WAY TOO DARK! You'll make everyone including yourself look hideous or like a ghost with this camera. The person never looks like themselves with this camera. IT'S A FRUSTRATING AND ABSOLUTELY HERENDOUS CAMERA NO MATTER HOW MUCH THE CAMERA COSTS. IT'S NOT WORTH A DIME!!! THAT'S WHY IT CAME FREE WHEN I BOUGHT MY FIRST COMPUTER.
