It does what it's suppose to ...
I purchased this Tripod for about $5 bucks from a local Bargain store and it's an OK product. I trust most Targus products and majority of them are lacking a few things but overall a good product. Such as this Tripod. The legs extend out to 6" but it would of been better if it'd go a little more like 12" would been good. But what's more important is it does what it's suppose to. Just could of been better. But for the price they sell it ... What more could you expect ? ... Read more

little bugger rocks
I recently went from '90's vintage digital8 camcorder behemothto a palm sized camcorder. My old camcorder tripod weighed like 10 times as much as the camera and folder was still way way bigger.

Gitzo MK 2
In preparation for a three week Everglades bird photo shoot, and realizing that any tripod that I might take would be on my sholder more than it was on the ground, weight became an important consideration.I mated this tripod and the WIMBERLEY head which has the ARCA Swiss type quick release for lenses.I carried the tripod for three weeks and was very happy that with my choice.I recommend the three section leg.The four section leg, while shorter and will fit more easily in luggage, the bottom-most section is too small and is therefore not as stable - the whole idea - as the three section leg.
Simply the best
This is the G1325 carbon fiber Gitzo tripod without any center column.It's incredibly stable, well-constructed, and beautifully finished, and will support as much as an equivalent aluminum tripod weighing nearly twice as much.

A good light weight tripod for spotter or camera
I've been using this tripod with my 35mm cameras, medium format cameras (Hasselblads), ETX90 spotting scope and Orion Short Tube 80 refractor. The tripod performs well in most cases, and has a built in bubble level to help in leveling the tripod. The only shortcomings are that the pan head is difficult to adjust in small increments, so centering items in the telescopes are not as effortless as one would like. This tripod is a great platform for a 35mm camera or a medium format camera with shorter lenses. When I use my longest lenses (350mm & 500mm) on my Hasselblad, I have to take additional measures to insure that the tripod remains steady.
