3-0 out of 5 stars Good piece for the price.
Used to photograph a wedding last weekend. It makes all the difference in stabilizing my shaky hands.Easy to use and sensible. The tilt head is a little awkward.Got this after returning one from Best buy that had pull out/collasible bottom three tele's.This one much more stable although I like the ball adjust on top of the other better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product -If I knew then what I know now, I would definitely buy it.
This monopod does a great job for my camera. You have the quick, easy-off, it attatches to your camera by a screw, and you can press the button on the side of the monopod and just slide your camera right off of it quickly. I wanted a nice, inexpensive monopod for my new zoom lense. I have a Canon 35mm, and I recently purchased a 75-300 zoom lense for it, and I needed a monopod to stabilize the shoot. If I knew then what I know now, I would buy it again. Nice product.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very light, portable, cheap but the manufacturer quality is bad.
The minute I took the monopod out of cover it broke. The mounting head fell apart from the leg. The glue they use is very bad. I didn't return the product because I think the replacement would be the same quality and it was not worth the affords. I just fixed it myself. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Solid Altazimuth Tripod
All metal construction (except for the knobs) make this a solid mount for a small to medium sized scope. I found very little problem with vibration using a C90 spotting scope at high powers. The sliding 1/4-20 mounting screw allows the scope to be balanced properly. The 1/4-20 adapter also appears to be removable in order to use scope rings or other mounting methods. The fine adjustment knobs offer limited range but precise adjustments for aiming a scope under high power or for tracking distant objects. The fine adjustment knobs are also connected by cables minimizing vibrations and a possible source of misalignment.
2-0 out of 5 stars Where's the user manual?
I agree with the two previous reviewers. There needs to be a user manual and there isn't one.The fine adjustment will adjust the vertical angle maybe 15 degrees. This isn't very helpful for star gazing. The maximum height of the tripod is only 45 inches. This is an uncomfortable height for looking through binoculars while standing. Celestron should have a users guide showing how their tripod and binoculars are supposed to work together.

1-0 out of 5 stars Damaged Goods
On reciept of the tripod, I found it wrapped and packed (on the outside)in a manner that should have insured an undammaged product. When I opened the box, I found a tripod that looked like it had been run over by a fork lift and then thrown into the box. There was minimal packing around the tripod itself, mostly just nylon bags to prevent scratching, and nothing to keep the unit from being tossed around.I have to wonder about the quality control prior to shipping. Also, if you are not familure with how to assemble and work this type of tripod you will be better served with a different model or company, instructions are not part of their package. ... Reviews (1)

3-0 out of 5 stars Not quite solid enough for non-mini spotting scopes
First off, the technical details are wrong for this entry which seem to be for a full size Celestron tripod. This unit actually measures 14 inches folded, 10.5 inches with the legs opened and stretches up to 14 inches high with the center column raised. The legs themselves do not telescope. A plastic collar can be tightened to lock the column height and still allow it to turn for panning. The collar can be tightened further to completely lock the column from panning. A knob can be tightened to lock the tilting. A 1/4-20 screw with locking nut allows the attachment of a camera or spotting scope though the rubber used to keep the scope from twisting seems to allow some unwanted vibration. The unit is constructed of plastic and aluminum. The legs are extruded aluminum channel but fairly rigid and connect to an hard plastic base. The fine motion controls do not allow full rotation or tilting but this is not a major drawback and is to be expected for something in this price range.

This is a great product, there is always a place you can put this tripod on to take a great picture. Very useful, you could not live without it once you have it. I will buy the one for SRL cameras...

5-0 out of 5 stars Best tripod on the market!!
I still can't believe that this thing is real! And I'm blown away by the quality of the tripod.
5-0 out of 5 stars great for lightweight cameras
This is an awesome product. The rubber grips hold on to just about anything, anywhere. We've attached it securely to lampposts, gates, and trees.Very convenient for nighttime or long-exposure photography, much easier than lugging around a heavy full-sized tripod. It's also very portable; we keep it clamped onto the strap of the camera bag when not in use.

1-0 out of 5 stars Broke again
First one that I owned broke after 3 uses. The second one I got broke after 10 uses.Legs are very flimsy.

5-0 out of 5 stars A very good tripod for the price
This tripod is quite sturdy and supports my fairly heavy Nikon D200 very well. The anglular adjustements are a little clunky, especially compared to a nice (expensive) Ball Type Head, but for the low price this unit sells for it can't be "dinged" for that.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great value.
This is a well made tripod. It is very adjustable and very stable. One feature that I didn't see mentioned in the other reviews is the feet. The feet have rubber caps for indoor use but they can be screwed up to reveal metal points for better outdoor stability. This unit is loaded with features for a very reasonable price. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for tabletop
I wasn't sure what to expect for this price, but it's a sturdy enough little tripod to hold my Sony DSC-H1 Cybershot with an additional filter and sunshade extension installed on the lense, all weighing maybe a little over 2 lbs. max. The tripod just screws on to the bottom of the camera, which is in the middle of my camera, so it isn't an issue as it might if the place to attach the tripod were off-center. I'd buy this unit again. I did purchase a lightweight travel tripod as well, but this is just right for tabletop uses.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the price - but I'd still get a "big boy" tripod
It's nice to have a small tripod like this for travel and for taking some photos of yourself by yourself - but I would certainly throw down for the "big boy" tripod also (because sometimes you just can't find that brick wall to put your camera on!)Great value though - I can't say I can't live without it, but I do enjoy the fact that I do have it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not useful for DSLR?

5-0 out of 5 stars This monopod is just right for the job
I gave this monopod to my boyfriend, as a gift, and it's been perfect for his use.He videotapes his kids's baseball and softball games, and was tired of holding the camcorder for so long.He didn't want to deal with a bulky tripod when he was getting up and down, so a monopod seemed like a great idea.He has LOVED it!!He says it keeps the camera very steady and it's very easy to change the height so he can use it sitting or standing. He's no professional, but he uses his camcorder a lot, and he'll be happily using the monopod for a long time!

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality!
The first thing that strikes you about this tripod, is the feel of it - it just shouts out 'quality', it inspires confidence, its rock solid but yet has ease of use, personaly i dont think its as heavy as some people make out, easy enough to hike for a while with it slung over your shoulder, one piece of advice.... if you are getting a quality tripod like this - then get a good head to suit!!!

    4-0 out of 5 stars Bogen-Manfrotto 3021BPRO Professional Tripod
This is an excelent tripod, which is both sturdy and versatile.I would recommend this highly for most purposes. It is somewhat heavy, so using it on long hikes etc. is probably not the best of its applications.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice solid tripod
This tripod feels as it will last a lifetime. If is very well made and very versatil with the independent leg positioning. The PRO version is worth it beacuse it will give you more "tools" to create your photos and expand your skills.

4-0 out of 5 stars Tilting base needs compensation for heavy cameras - but good value!
I have a Nikon D50, and when attaching the camera, the tilting base of the tripod needs a little compensation for the camera weight. Hence, I haven't found any use for the libelle on the tripod. I have to look through the wiev finder to see if my set-up is level or not.
5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent value, but the shipping cost was high
I have a very small camera (a Canon SD450) and find this tripod to be a perfect match. It is light and small and easy to carry with the included canvas case. It has a few nice features that I didn't expect (even though I read the text!) like the bubble level on the platform.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome, perfect light tripod!
I really looked hard at the various light (sub-3 lb) tripod options to use with my Canon Powershot S2 IS.Lighter the better, but I also really wanted a 3-way pan head and all of the little nice extras that I could get: bubble level, quick set-up/tear-down, fits inside of carry-on luggage, good build quality, comes with a bag, good hand crank, etc.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid
Solidly built, this tripod balances well even when used with the heavier Sony Cybershots like the DSC-R1. The remote shuttle release button helps to further reduce camera shake, which is priceless when taking photos in conditions where camera shake is amplified (high optical zoom, supressed flash, etc).
5-0 out of 5 stars nice tripod, super price
I found this tripod on Sony's website, but was a bit put off by the price, both there, and at Circuit City.I was thrilled to find it for much less at Amazon!!!The tripod itself is super... we mostly shoot video of our baby at home, so we don't need anything too sophisticated. We love the controls on the arm of the tripod, and the bubble-level thing is a good feature to have.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Remote Contolled Tripod
I bought this tripod for video tapping an upcomming family wedding and have tried it a couple of times to get used to it.I like the the smooth operation of the controls on the handle. The panning operation is likewise acceptable. The telescopic locking legs work well, but are light weight and can rock a little during panning. The lightness is also a plus because it collapses into a small over the shoulder bag for easy toteing. One hand on the tripod for stabilization and one on the control handle during panning works well. ... Read more
