5-0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised
I recently purchased the Rebel T2 camera body only after my Canon EOS Rebel 2000 gave its "last gasp".I had been a Canon user since 1979 with an AE-1 (that I still have).
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Camera, beautiful pictures.
I got this after switching from a digital camera. The digital cameras didn't offer the depth I wanted and not having proofs was a big drawback.
4-0 out of 5 stars More than good enough
After researching several cameras in this price range, I bought the Rebel T2 last month. It has met my expectations and perhaps then some. After recently trying out a friends camera in the 150.-ish range, I partially regret spending what I did. It all comes down to what you need, want, and how many bells and whistles you like. For the money though, compared to the competitors, I still think I made a good purchase. After all, if I use it for ten years, which I most likely will, I will have surely got my moneys worth. Bottom line: no complaints with it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this camera
I love this camera. It is one of the only manual cameras still being manufactured.Digital-electronic monstrosities (which are unbelievably expensive) simply cannot produce images like a simple manual camera with a good 50mm lens.
5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Value
Cosina is a "behind the scenes" Japanese manufacturer of many cameras and lenses, and have made cameras for many branded as high-end and entry level models for decades. If you purchases an SLR, or if you've amassed a collection 3rd party lenses, good chance you have something made by Cosina but didn't know it.

The Canon EOS Rebel 2000 is an affordable, lightweight, andfull-featured automatic 35mm SLR for both beginning and advancedamateur photographers. It offers a host of special modes for specificshooting situations, including full auto, manual, night scene, portrait, landscape, and more. It also has shutter-speed priority andaperture priority modes--although most users will inevitably leave thecamera in full auto mode a majority of the time and the cameraperforms very well that way. 5-0 out of 5 stars Another great product from Canon
I had this camera for years before it was stolen and I replaced it with a digital Canon SLR.I am still amazed at the abuse I put my Rebel 2000 through. It has a nice light body, a great auto feature, and easy-enough to use manual functions. And because of the popularity (and rightly so) of digital these days, you can pick one up for a fantastic price, even brand spanking new.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Camera: Easily beats a Digital camera for its price

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this camera
The world has gone digital and yet Olympus produced one of the best 35mm cameras out there just as film cameras were becoming obsolete. It'sa shame because this camera kicks [...], because it's simple to use, produces amazing shots and has a great zoom/lens, autofocus, battery life (beats any digital camera) and it feels great in my hand. I've taken many shots with it, including B&W shots, which are even greater than color shots. I've also taken tons of night shots, including auroras, which I never knew how to do before. This camera works especially well with Fuji film. I want to buy another one before they get rid of film cameras forever. Sad.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great for point & shoot, but still lacking
The Olympus IS series cameras have always had an identity crisis. At first they were called "ZLRs" or "Zoom Lens Reflex."They have the internal making of an SLR (a mirror mechanism that shows you exactly what the lens is seeing), but lack the versatility of being able to change the lens.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Camera Ever
I have never owned a camera before this one but I have taken a lot of pictures with other cameras so I know a good camera.I did a lot research when I decided to finally buy my own camera. I chose this one based on it's not complex features.I wanted something that would take up a lot of my time to learn as I am a college student and need that time to study school work not how to work a camera.I got the camera about two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the results, these are some of the best pictures that I have ever taken. This is definatly a camera that is for the first time camera owner. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!!
Okay, first off, I'd like to say that this is my first AF SLR--I stepped up from my dinosaur of a camera, Canon AE-1 manual focus, and right now I am quite overwhelmed by all the features in this little thing.I'm still in the learning stages of all this technology but let me tell you this, I am having fun!It amazes me that Canon can offer quite an impressive camera for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars About the best SLR I've ever owned
I've been a serious amateur and occassional professional photographer for over 40 years. My experience spans the early SLR entries up to the present.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera
I bought this camera almost a year ago before I went on a trip to Italy... I was kind of worried about it because I had never had an SLR before, but I really wanted one, and I wanted to make sure I didn't have cheap looking pictures from my trip which I often had before.
5-0 out of 5 stars Back From Digital
I have had several digital cameras, including the Nikon 8700, I feel that digital is still got a way to go, they are wonderful, yet can be very tiring, printing gobs of prints for friends and family is tiring , tedious and expensive.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great beginner SLR camera
I bought this camera to learn how to take great pics. This camera is definitely worth it.Especially for the price it sells for nowadays (I paid nearly $300 for mine when I got it).The N55 takes great shots and is easy to learn on.After using this camera I feel I am ready to upgrade in the near future.
5-0 out of 5 stars Love Nikon
I bought this camera because the price was so low ($199 with the lens) and I wanted to be able to print very large sized photos. I specifically got this to take on a trip to Austrlia and then Nova Scotia. I also took my digital camera as well. of course the prints from this camera are far more beutiful then the digital camera, there is just something about film. I wonder how far off we are from it being gone all together.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great camera
I'd recommend this for anyone looking into buying an SLR camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars From the Jungles to the Desert, Great Camera
Greetings, Hope this finds everyone to be in good health and happiness.I traded my minolta slr w/2 lenses and flash for the 3800N back in 2002 and have enjoyed it ever since. This camera is used primarily for B/W as well as continued learning of the fundamentals of photography and creative ideas. I have taken it through five different jungles in SE Asia, in the desert, and across fifteen states with no problems. If you have an idea of a grunts life, it isn't easy or clean. This camera takes the abuse and still performs they way it should.Maintain proper care and protection from the environment with all the accessories available and you 've got a great artistic kit at little cost. Have fun with this camera and be artistic.
5-0 out of 5 stars It Compares with the Best of Them
For the past 30 years, I have been a devoted Nikon user, though I have a Pentax K1000 and assorted Pentax lenses that were given to me as a gift about 20 years ago.The K1000 was misplaced in a move a few years ago (I'm sure it will turn up one day when I finally get to clean out my attic), and I was longing to use a fully manual SLR.I took a chance with the Vivitar V3800N as the price was right and it came with a better warranty than a used K1000.It could also use all of my Pentax lenses which I had not misplaced.I have put this camera through the wringer and it has come through on every occasion. For those who complain that the Vivitar lens quality is lacking in quality and performance (which I find not to be the case), there is an ample supply of new and used Pentax lenses which produce results that rival my Nikons.I frequently use the Vivitar lens and am delighted by its performance. The camera is built solidly and performs solidly. Results are consistent and I never worry about damaging it as it is not costly to replace. So, if you ever have the feeling that you want to be a true photographer rather than the caretaker of a small computer that takes photographs for you, I highly recommend the V3800N.Indeed, Nikon thinks so highly of it that they sell it as the FM-10 and will continue to have it manufactured for them by Cosina as one of two 35mm SLR's they will keep on the market in the digital age, the other being the Nikon-manufactured F6.The Vivitar is a well-made bargain that delivers!!Buy it and enjoy it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best cameras PERIOD
This is by far the best camera I have ever owned in my life, be it point and shoot, film or digital.I'm in the Marine Corps and took this camera with me in Iraq and countless other places and it went through some of the most extreme weather imaginable and kept on working. The camera is not labeled as splash-proof, but it should be -- I accidentally dropped this camera in a puddle of water and pulled it out and it was still working.I never had it fail on me one time. The LCD display on the back is huge and amazingly informative. The backlight on the LCD is very handy as well. The autofocus is also amazingly fast and accurate. It's a professional quality camera with beginner level accessibility.

5-0 out of 5 stars Intuitive Controls so you can use all the Technology
This is an excellent contemporary high-tech camera.I tend to shoot in aperature controlled mode, and it is very easy to change aperatures, to bracket exposures so you get three to seven shots in rapid fire with slightly different settings, and to see differing depths of field.Depending on the lens, it can also be relatively easy to modify the auto focus (so, for example, you move the center of the focus in front of or behind your subject to get the right part of the scene in focus), but note that some lenses will clutch and not be able to be hand-manipulated, leading to a need to switch to manual focus with those lenses in some cases.5-0 out of 5 stars the best
The best autofocus period. Out performs nikon & canon. Can focus in near darkness. It really performs better than expected. I like the information lcd on the back. I like it better than the F100. Judging from what I have experienced it should be very dependable. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AwesomeCamera for Price!
This camera is light, easy to use yet feature rich. I compared it to digital (still to expensive for comparable resolution to 35mm film) and other SLR cameras. The auto focus is fast and reliable, although in low light it strobes its built in flash to assist with focusing. The built in flash is fairly powerful and convenient because it is always available. The complex metering system has handled difficult lighting situations well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Camera For Beginners
I used this camera for my photography classes in high school and college. I was afraid that this camera wasn't as good as the one priced more. I love this camera. It goes everywhere with me. The pictures are amazing, and you can buy tons of lenses for this camera. I will tell you, out of all the camera's that I own, and have used, this is my favorite.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Camera
Since I am married to the military, I travel a lot to different countries. This camera is perfect, whether I am taking pictures of Mt. Fuji or my newborn, this camera always delivers great results. The auto focus is slow at times, but you can override that and manually focus on the object.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT for beginning photography enthusiasts!
I started using the QTsi two years ago and I've NEVER used anything else since then (my fully automatic Olympus has been permanently retired from my usage).Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars NO problems with my N75
i have taken over 40 rolls of film with my Nikon N75, and i have had no problems at all with it.it is very user-friendly and lightweight.i've taken the camera to many places in the US, and to Rome.it has never failed me. and, it takes amazing quality pictures.
2-0 out of 5 stars bad camera
I thought I was the only one having problems with Nikon N75! Beside the fact I've got far better pictures with my old Pentax MZ 10 (I don't even want to go into details) my Nikon N75 it's now broken; after less than 20 rolls! Instead of loading the film it rewinds it back. I already lost 5 rolls. I thought it was my bad luck to get a bad camera but apparently exactly the same thing happened to other people. We should get our money back!

5-0 out of 5 stars One-way switch from minolta for me
i used to be all for minolta products, but when they had all been in at least once for servicing (at my expense usually) and my maxxum 5 SLR refused to take film in the middle of a project, i needed something reliable, i thought Nikon was like the rolls-royce of the camera world, by way of automotive comparisons i don't know how to say it, they're like top of the line features for economy prices, i paid $150 roundabout for my N75 with a tamron 28-80 lens (great lens btw) and it's been a fabulous package so far, i've used it way more in the past 6 monthes than i ever could have used the Minolta in it's 2 years, even without the 7.5 monthes total between 3 servicing ventures.i am totally a nikon guy now, and if that ever changes, i'll update this review!

5-0 out of 5 stars A great intermediate and advanced camera!
I recently purchased the STsi as a "step-up" from my QTsi (also a great camera) and I truly enjoy learning about its various special features.5-0 out of 5 stars A great camera for the serious amateur
At first I was wary of buying a product that wasn't completely new, and for such a reasonable price. But as soon as I got the camera, I found that it was extremely easy to use, and the only a quick reading of the instructions is necessary to be able to use all of its functions.3-0 out of 5 stars Not good for proffesional
This Camera s quiet good for learner because the feature is simple. But if you wan tot used manual shoot you will have a problem. Event it's offering the manual Aperture and Speed but it's difficult to use. The feature is close to the automatic pocket camera. The differentiation is only the lens because we can use the Minolta series of lens from 80 m to more. If you want the camera with automatic adjustment for aperture, speed and focus, and want to take a best shoot with various lenses, this is appropriate for you. But when you start using manual adjustment you will have a problem. ... Read more

Bottom line: no complaints with it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Happy in Arizona--But error on Product specs
I purchased this camera as a replacement for a Pentax Super Program that had given many years of faithful service.According to a Pentax rep via their website, this model is the closest one in their current lineup to match the features of the Super Program.I just received it and am testing it, but it is light, easy to handle, and easy to learn. It allowed me to "salvage" my AF280T flash, and several pretty expensive Vivitar Series 1 Zoom lenses.I agree with the one reviewer who mentioned that the lens mount is plastic.I too worry a little about the wear and tear over time, compared to the "old" metal mounts. The only real disappointment (not a big one) is that the product specs on this website are in error re: TTL flash metering. This camera is not TTL compatible. However, it does sync with dedicated flash units on "auto" but you can't use the TTL setting.Unfortunately I only found that out after ordering it, via a Pentax service rep.....It's a really nice camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love This Camera!
This is a great camera. I got it to replace my K1000 for the convenience of automatic film loading and the more accurate matrix metering. I've had this camera since 1998 and have had no problems. It takes sharp, perfectly exposed pictures, and is easy to operate. The dials and knobs are easy to figure out - you don't need the manual to start taking photos. I have two other Pentax SLR bodies (K1000, ZX-5N) but this is my favorite.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, simple body
I am a high school photo student and this is the first SLR I bought. It is a very simple camera, akin the the K1000 (An all manual TANK!), but with a few extra luxuries like an automatic film winder and aperture priority mode. A great camera if you don't mind manually focusing, especially for still life type photos. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a basic camera that takes great photos. ... Read more
