4-0 out of 5 stars Fine 35mm lens for Leica Screw and M Mount rangefinders
The Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f1.7 aspherical wide angle lens offers at a reasonable price similar optical performance which Leica users have had to pay over a thousand dollars for. I have seen test reports where this lens is rated to perform as well as the last non-aspherical lens element Leica 35mm f2 Summicron lens. In practical terms unless you have to photograph constantly wide open, you won't notice any difference between this lens and the current, expensive 35mm f2 ASPH Summmicron-M lens. Leica M mount rangefinder users will have to purchase a screw to M mount adaptor to mount this lens onto their cameras. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little lens for little money.
This lens is sharp as heck, light weight, and almost free. The other reviewer notes that it's cheaper than the Leica 15mm. A bit! The Leica is 7500$ and hardly any more contrasty or sharp. Further, you can buy a body, a Bessa L, for 100$ and have an extraordinary combination for interiors, buildings, or special effects. This lens is fully linear. Finally, while the viewfinder does have barrel distortion, the lens has no fisheye effect at all and the finder is BRIGHTER than the Leica (if you took out that 3rd mortgage to buy the Leica).

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the widestwide angle lenses available to Leica screw mount and M rangefinder cameras
The Voigtlander Super-Wide Heliar 15mm f4.5 aspherical lens offers suprisingly good performance as one of the two widest lenses available from Voigtlander for screw and M mount rangefinder cameras. I have seen excellent enlargements nearly 11 x 14 inches in dimensions which attest to the excellent optical qualities of this lens. I would still recommend this lens over the more expensive Zeiss ZM 15mm Distagon f2.8 for the casual user who doesn't require such an ultra wide angle lens or one with a maximum aperture of f2.8. Much to Cosina's credit, this lens is yet another fine example of optical excellence in the Voigtlander lens line now being manufactured by Cosina. Leica M mount rangefinder cameras will need a screw to M mount adaptor for mounting this lens. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Used exact same thing before... and will again!
This Objective is the best in this price range I have used. It works just great, light intensity is good enough, and I found it to be able to accomodate the strangest requests especially at the Cliffs of Mohare in Ireland, Malta and here in my homecountry, the U.S. Even with diffuse light situations, the Tamron still gives you some power to accomplish what you want.
4-0 out of 5 stars Tamron Autofocus 75-300mm f/4-5.6 LD with Hood for Pentax SLR Cameras
This lens works smoothly with my manual focus Pentax K1000. I just need to keep off the A (automatic) focus stop.
4-0 out of 5 stars Put this lens in your toolkit
The Tamron f/4-5.6 75-300 zoom is a great buy at the price. The zoom is very smooth and auto focus very responsive. Very nice optics. For outdoor work you can, almost, get away with this as the only lens. Results are crisp beautiful photos. Quality is vastly superior to the lenses generally included in a Pentax kit.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars May not be a Nikon but still a great lens
What a great lens.It is not perfect but I really like it.Currently I have only compared it side by side with my Nikon 135 3.5 prime and it holds up pretty good, I have done two side by side tests first one showed the nikon sharper and with better color saturation, but the second test I could not tell the difference. (I need to do some more tests)When I am shooting surfers ok kite surfing @~300, sometimes I go into manual focus because the AF is too slow or gets confused, also in low light I use MF too.I am using this on a D100 and the combination is great for a very flexible lightweight combination. For me this lens is sharp enough and helps me create some beautiful pictures having this big range offers in combination with digital, I take so many photo's so quickly that I come out with a good photo every couple of days (still only 1 in 500 shots :)5-0 out of 5 stars Great all-around lens for amateurs
My husband has this lens for his XTSi, and he hasn't taken it off of his camera body since he got it two years ago.It does have some heft to it, and it does slow down the autofocus in low light conditions, but overall, it's a great lens for the amateur photographer, especially someone who doesn't want to invest hundreds in different zoom lenses and then have to lug all of them around with you. Also, not having to change lenses is a big bonus -- Never again will you ever miss a shot because you couldn't get in tight enough! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fine Fast Moderate Telephoto Lens for Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras
The 75mm f1.4 Summilux-M telephoto lens still remains one of the famous designs for the Leica M rangefinder camera system. It is a lens which has been favored by those photographers working under low-light conditions, who need the slightly narrow field of view offered by the 75mm lens. I have seen excellent black and white and color photography taken with the 75mm f1.4 Summilux. Admittedly, it is not as sharp and contrasty a lens wide open as the new 75mm f2 APO-Summicron ASPH, but here the difference lies on whether one wishes to obtain a "pastel" quality or a more vivid, realistic image in photographic images made with either 75mm lens (Or those on a budget may also contemplate the purchase of the Voigtlander 75mm lens which I have heard is a fine performer in its own right, inspite of its relatively inexpensive cost.). This venerable 75mm lens was designed by the late Dr. Walter Mandler, for many years, Leica's chief lens designer at its Canadian subsidary in Midland, Ontario, Canada (The lens was also manufactured in Canada; only within the past few years has its manufacture been moved to Solms, Germany.). I haven't used a 75mm lens yet, so I'm not sure whether I would want to acquire this 75mm lens or purchase instead the new 75mmm APO-Summicron. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fastest 50mm Lens Available for Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras
The Leica 50mm f1 Noctilux is not only one of the two fastest 35mm lenses currently in production (The other one is the 50mm f1 Canon EOS lens.), but it is truly one of the specialist Leica lenses which have earned much praise from diehard Leica fans, fine art photographers and photojournalists. This lens truly shines wide open at f1, where its relatively lower contrast will yield lovely, almost pastel-like, out-of-focus blurs. For those interested in doing available low-light photography at the slowest possible speed, this venerable lens will open some interesting artistic vistas for a photographer who has a M-mount rangefinder camera such as the Leica M series, Konica Hexar, Voigtlander Bessa series, and last, but not least, the relatively new Zeiss Ikon. I have not had the need to use the Noctilux, but have seen wonderful work done with this lens, which is used frequently to photograph musicians performing in dimly-lit, smoke-filled rooms. Unless you have the burning desire and need to do a lot of low-light available light photography with a 35mm M-mount rangefinder camera, then don't purchase this lens, but instead, think of acquiring Leica's venerable 50mm Summicron, its superb 50mm ASPH Summilux, or the Carl Zeiss ZM 50mm Planar lenses. ...
