Very nice unit
I have used several types of night vision, 3rd generation that is, but as many of us can see, 3rd generation aint cheap. I went with this particular n/v because of price, and a fellow Deputy friend of mine owns one, and said he liked his. I have only one complaint the weight, it's a little heavy, but well built. Turn on the I/R, and wham it's like turning on a spot light, nice unit, works well, and if your interested in a great little night vision unit, you can't go wrong, quality product great price. Not useful due to very small field of vision
The field of vision is too small for any useful viewing.If you already know where your object is in the dark, then you can point this device towards the object and view it in dark.But if you are searching for an object in the dark, the small field of vision makes the search useless.

nice scope, feels hefty and appears to be well made. glass optics good light gathering abilities.large objective lense with nice metal screw on lense protector. Only drawback I found was the battery compartment was tiny and kind of hard to screw the battery cap on.

I've only had this thing for 2 weeks but am quite impressed with it.the constuction, size and performace are what you would hope for at this price level. Superb
This thing delivers exactly what it promises: it enables one to see in darkness! Within a city you will hardly find a spot dark enough to fully appreciate the scope, but in the country side at night this thing is incredible. The built-in infrared light source allows one to see in pitch black. The image is monochrome (greenish) and is distorted towards the edges, sort of like if you are looking through a bubble. Even so, the effective viewing angle is wide enough for comfortable viewing. Also, I was quite impressed with quality of the optics: if you adjust the eye-piece to your eye, the focus ring allows to get a very sharp image from just a few feet to infinity! I found a minor defect, however: The battery lid appeared to not provide a good contact to the battery, so I had to tweak the lid slightly for the power to come on. The construction of the body and the objective's assembly, however, seemed smooth and very sturdy. ... Read more

WOW! Don't settle for less....these are worth it!
Not only are these the best binoculars I've ever looked through, but the price here on Amazon beat anyone, including other internet sites....even eBay! Most site have them for between $850-$929. Not a bad deal for the price.
It's a great deal. Walking around with it on takes some getting used to, but I can't complain. It's wild seeing deer walking around and eating the plums off the trees. I've taken back the night PEOPLE!;) Have fun all!
Over hyped
The Bushnell night vision goggles, is a great pair of goggles for the price it is. Although its only Gen1 goggles it still is very useful. When I brought these from a retailer and proceeded to use them at night I found out that my goggles were actually second hand, but that is besides the point. The Bushnell goggles when used with combination headgear, can feel very bulky and uncomfortable in the prone upright position, but as soon as you push the button to unlock the twisting mechisism the googles feel quite lite and compfortable.

Good piece of kit, laminate it and take it to the field!!
Having used NVG's in training and war (PVS-2/4/5/7's), I had limited expectations when purchasing this (1Gen).I was much more than pleasantly suprised when I received this and tested it for the first time.The NVMT easily outpaced my memories of the PVS-2 and bordered on the quality I was familiar with with the PVS-4/5's.Passive is quite good, but IR source light shows a dramatic difference in visibility and clarity. Rubberized coating good feature.

Fun Tme
I got the night vision last week and me and my son used it over the weekend.In what will be one of the last warm weekends of the year, we had a great time.We were able to see the stars (which my son loves) and look into the woods at the edge of my property.It was clear and very easy to use, two on/off buttons, no complaints.My son and I had a great time this weekend.

A good house or backyard Toy
I bought this with the hope of using it for wildlife observations while out in the field. I had previous experience with night vision and hoped for a clear view of the surrounding meadows, forests, etc. Not so with this one. I could not see any better than using my own eyes. It works when there is still some light or moonlight but, I can see fine on my own then. I returned it after one use. Read more
