5-0 out of 5 stars Works great no more guesswork
I was initially very skeptical of rangefinders after using a friends and not being able to easily acquire the target.Once I decided on this model and used it I haven't got one bad thing to say about it.Target acquisition is super fast and accurate, just point at the flagstick or target needing yardage feedback and it shoots it with the correct yardage immediately.Buy this unit with no doubts that you will have purchased the best rangefinder available.I have gotten yardages from the flag at over 280 yards with it so far and I'm sure it will go further than that once I try. It gives you total confidence that you are using the right club and you will soon know exactly how far you hit each club to the yard.No more guesswork.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bushnell 1500 is a great rangefinder alternative
I considered various alternatives of rangefinders and am thrilled that I chose both this type and this model. It is easy to use, has great features and is very accurate.I primarily use just the distance feature, but for non-competitive rounds the effective distance feature taking into consideration upward or downward slope is very cool.I also like the carrying case which can be attached to a bag or pull cart and provides easy accessibility to the rangefinder.I just returned from a trip to Ireland where many of the courses have few if any distance markers. It was indespensible.

3-0 out of 5 stars Beware-this is not tournament legal
The Pinseeker Tournament Edition is the yardage pro you want to purchase. This yardage pro has slope and is therefore not legal to use for tournament play.Unfortunately Amazon does not list this in the description so I had to return it and of course they charged me shipping to return it.When I ordered it I was given free shipping, but because I returned it Amazon then charged for shipping it to me.Because Amazon failed to describe this product fully I was charged twice for shipping.Beware of purchasing anything from Amazon--I will never shop from them again!!!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent rangefinder
I use this for golf yardage when I'm in a location where the yardage is hard to determine. Very accurate. Does require a steady hand. Would not recommend more magnification than this one has as it would be very difficult to hold steady enough for a target as small as a flag.

5-0 out of 5 stars The top aid for the golfer
It is light; has 6X magnification; and easy to use. This little tool is great for any golfer. You must know the yardage before you can select the correct club. How far is it to either the top of that bunker next to the green or the flagstick?Next, you just then need to pull the club that will get you there.Fits on your belt through a loop in the safe carrying case or use the supplied clip to attached the case to your golf bag. These NEW laser rangefinders are better than ever and at a lower price than previous models. LOVE IT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Deal!
I got a Nikon laser rangefinder for Chrisymas and it had an 8x magnification. I found this to be to powerful for golf.I could not hold it steady on the flag. The 6x magnification on the Bushnell Yardage Pro Scout was much better. Also it is very compact and stores easily in my golf cart. The price from Amazon was well below I could find anywhere else. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Does what they say it does
This thing works exactly as advertised.I use it for golf, and it does a very good job of separating the flag from other background objects, even when wind or my over-caffeinated hands make it hard to get the target centered on the flag.Even works when there is no wind and the flag is hanging straight down. This is well worth the cost adder over cheaper ones that don't work nearly as well. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not useful due to very small field of vision
The field of vision is too small for any useful viewing. If you already know where your object is in the dark, then you can point this device towards the object and view it in dark. But if you are searching for an object in the dark, the small field of vision makes the search useless.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for Golf
I've used this since 2001 and extensively in 2006 now that it's USGA legal. Not sure why others have having trouble holding this steady.Anything <200 yards I have no problem hitting the flag (you don't aim at the stick, you aim at the flag).Excellent for getting distances to bunkers, trees, and other hazards.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great idea but not effective -- too difficult to hold steady
I bought the Bushnell Yardage Pro Tour Laser Rangefinder despite warnings about the inability to hold it steady enough.I have no tremor; neither do I have any problems with steadiness; however, I found it practically impossible to hold the laser crosshairs on the flagstick from 60-100 yards away without getting a multitude of readings, depending upon what reflection it relied upon. I found myself with a multiple choice reading, and even the one closest to my estimate was doubtful.Even steadying the binoculars on the cart edge didn't really help much.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not Up To Par!
I have used a Bushnell Yardage Pro400 Laser Rangefinder since June, 1997. This summer it went belly-up, so I purchased the Bushnell Yardage Pro Tour (#200002), a much smaller instrument than the Pro400, which was like a binocular. However, with our new reflector flagsticks, I could read beyond 400 yards by merely pointing toward the green, without actually seeing the flag. It worked great. The Yardage Pro Tour, while small and convenient, is no where near as accurate or sensitive as the Pro400. It's hard to hold steady and must be exactly on the reflector flagstick to get a reading. It has a special feature, which if you depress the button for more than 3 seconds, it starts scanning (It usually takes longer than 3 seconds to get any reading). With a jiggling hand, the instrument flashes various yardage numbers faster than one can read them of whatever the instrument is scanning at that instant. Even with the flagstick laser reflectors, it's very difficult to get a reading. It's almost impossible to read the flag from beyond 150 yards. Certainly, it can't compare with the old Pro400. I sent the Pro400 to Bushnell for a repair, but they have no parts for it. They did offer to sell me a Yardage Pro Trophy (#202018), a lesser model than the Yardage Pro Tour, for $150. I can't honestly recommend the Yardage Pro Tour. If I had it to do over, I'd probably buy the Elite 1500, a larger, more expensive instrument reminiscent of the Pro400. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Shake, rattle and roll
I bought my Nikon LaserCaddy after trying a friend's Bushnell Pinseeker on a Florida golf trip. The Bushnell impressed me, but it seemed expensive, and I figured Nikon probably knows a thing or two about optics, so how big a risk could it be? I didn't want the "illegal" slope correction feature anyway, and that made the LaserCaddy a decent bet.
5-0 out of 5 stars Nikon LaserCaddy 500G
Can't beat Nikon glass! Great optics. I've compared it to several Bushnell models and the Nikon is clearer. It give fast readings easily up to 300+ yds. There is slight magnification which is a nice feature. Easy to hold steady and best of all it's SMALL enough to fit in your pocket during play. It's a hassle trying carry around (with case/in/out of cart) the Bushnell 1500 during play. HIGHLY recommend!

3-0 out of 5 stars Nikon Laser Caddy 500G
I have found that you need a very steady hand (much better than mine)as any movement from the flagstick will get variable readings. Clutter behind the flagstick will also cause variations in the proper yardage. I have only used it a few times as it takes more time to use than its' value. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Worked well - no problem with eye fatigue watching football
Based on another reviewer's recommendation, I at first got the Bushnell Powerview 4x30 instead of these Xtra-Wide 4x21s.But I just wasn't satisfied with the field-of-view of the 4x30s (not only do the specs overestimate their ability, but they only apply to the width of view, not the height). With the 4x21s, the field of view actually seemed to be larger than the specs indicate, and provided a nice round image, as tall as it was wide.It was like the difference between night and day! Also, I didn't experience any eye fatigue as the other reviewer mentioned: this may be because I was watching football instead of basketball (less constant action and movement). But to be honest, if I get eye fatigue from these 4x21s, I would still rather use them than the 4x30s--I can take a break or let a friend use them if my eyes start getting tired (besides, I never like holding binoculars up to my head the whole game anyway).

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
This binocular was rated No 1 in the Cornell winter 2005 review of birding binocular in the economy class and it certainly desreves its No 1 spot. In this price range it is simple the best binocular for the begining birder, the budding sports fan. Being fully rubber armored and fully water proof they make very good hunting binoculars as well. The field of view is simply the widest i have ever seen. They are slightly on the heavier side at 28 oz, but the weight distribution is such that they feel much lighter than many 23-25 oz roof prisim binoculars. Eye glass wearers will also not have nay problem with these and the feature 17 mm + of eye relief and twist up eye cup with detents and feature not normally found in binoculars of this price range.

5-0 out of 5 stars night owl night vision
nice scope, feels hefty and appears to be well made. glass optics good light gathering abilities.large objective lense with nice metal screw on lense protector. Only drawback I found was the battery compartment was tiny and kind of hard to screw the battery cap on.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great bang for the buck.
I've only had this thing for 2 weeks but am quite impressed with it.the constuction, size and performace are what you would hope for at this price level.5-0 out of 5 stars Superb
This thing delivers exactly what it promises: it enables one to see in darkness! Within a city you will hardly find a spot dark enough to fully appreciate the scope, but in the country side at night this thing is incredible. The built-in infrared light source allows one to see in pitch black. The image is monochrome (greenish) and is distorted towards the edges, sort of like if you are looking through a bubble. Even so, the effective viewing angle is wide enough for comfortable viewing. Also, I was quite impressed with quality of the optics: if you adjust the eye-piece to your eye, the focus ring allows to get a very sharp image from just a few feet to infinity! I found a minor defect, however: The battery lid appeared to not provide a good contact to the battery, so I had to tweak the lid slightly for the power to come on. The construction of the body and the objective's assembly, however, seemed smooth and very sturdy. ... Read more

Not all of the Permafocus Binoculars are this good, but these are fantastic. If you tire easily of adjusting the focus, you won't believe your eyes when you look through these. I have used these on the lake, baseball games and on the golf course. My son dropped a pair on the concrete and misaligned one lens. Luckily I had already purchased another pair and just had to return to the car to get them. I am writing this review because I am looking to buy yet another pair.

5-0 out of 5 stars After Years These Binoculars Are Still Giving Their All
I got these binoculars a couple of years ago as a Christmas gift from my grandfather for Christmas a couple of years ago and time and again they have been a joy to use. Last time I used it extensivly was during my 8th grade D.C. field trip where I used this to get a clear view inside the Whitehouse while still in the park area (about 400 or 500 yards away) just to give you an idea of how powerful this thing is. Its ease of use is magnificant too especially with its one touch focus system which takes the hassle out turning a knob constantly to get the right focus like other binoculars but instead with one touch on the control you can get the exact focus. This thing also is has comfortable eye rests that makes viewing in them comfortable to the skin around your eyes instead of a skin agitation like some other binoculars. Overall this binocular is powerful, convienant, and comfortable to use is the most anyone can ask for binoculars. So buy these and take these anywhere, the city, nature sites and use them for viewing pleasure like me and my classmates enjoyed during out D.C. trip. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Useless even if you don't care about quality
The other reviewers who commented on the field of view are quite right. At this price you don't expect optical quality, but this binoc gives an image so teeny that quality is irrelevant. It's like looking down a pair of soda-straws. It's my impression that they were actually designed to have a wide field of view, but are manufactured with a ring-shaped baffle inside that cuts out most of the visual field. (Admittedly I didn't smack 'em open with a hammer to check. Just tossed 'em in the trash.)The folks at Bushnell suggested I send them in for inspection and "possible" replacement, but it wasn't worth the shipping...

1-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Poor Quality; falling apart; terrible optics; not worth $1
These are without exception the poorest quality, most dissapointing purchase of the entire 2005 Christmas season! These were purchased to replace the el-cheapo National Geographic plastic job from Target, and since they cost twice as much, I assumed they would be twice as good. Actually, the cheap plastic binoculars were as good as these, but at half the price! I am not impressed in any measure; these never should have passed quality assurance inspections.
1-0 out of 5 stars One of the worst products I've ever seen!
The specs look good, but Dr. Goode's review is right on.These are utter junk.I bought them for the wide field of view (advertised as 650' @ 1000 yards). It's more like 150', and the vision is so poor, the image so small, the focus so bad, that they are utterly useless--except, perhaps, as a paperweight.I didn't expect Zeiss quality, but had thought Bushnell was a reputable company.Never again!I bet they haven't sold a single pair of these through brick & mortar stores, because no one would ever buy them if they tried them first. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Waste of money and effort
I really wanted to like this golf gadget. However, it is almost impossible to hold the rangefinder still enough to accurately see the distance readings. When I did make extensive effort to hold it motionless, the readings still were not accurate when compared to the distances noted on the course.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not so good for golf
I am 50 and have trouble keeping it stable. The combination of large magnification, small weight and tiny dimensions make it hard to hold in a steady position that allows accurate readings.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT FOR HUNTING
Very lightweight and compact. Also very fast to use. No battery's to go dead and no waiting for warmup. They have this advertised as a "laser" range finder but it is not. It uses the old tryed and true "line" method, such as is seen in very high quality rifle scopes. I have found it to be very accurate out to 200 yds. You place the base line at the hooves of the animal and read the line that is at the top of the animals body..that gives the range. Slight adjustments must be made for differant animals, deer are shorter than elk. But one trip to the rifle range will make this very easy to do. I have found it to be much quicker to use than a laser type and it is not affected by rain and snow. Also I don't have to remove my gloves to use it. No battery's to worry about, it weighs almost nothing and fits in any pocket. If you want a range finder that really works well and is easy and fast to use this is the ticket. I bought 3 more for xmas gifts for my hunting partners. Can't recommend it high enough. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nikon quality - Nikon value
Initially I bought a Simmons range finder instead of the Nikon thinking it a good buy.I returned the Simmons after trying to use it three times - by the third time it would not even turn on.The Simmons display was difficult to see and the dioptic adjustment did not do much.None of the display options worked. Then it stopped working completely - would not even turn on.I returned it and ordered the Nikon.
