Kenko SGT-20Hi wins the comparison
I did a comparison of the Kenko SGT-20Hi with the Sony VCL-R2037, and the Kenko had the superior optics.Flare and coma were much smaller in the Kenko SGT-20Hi.Looking at Jupiter at night, the Kenko was able to resolve one of Jupiter's moons to a pixel, while with the Sony the moon appeared only sporadically. Chromatic aberration was a bit less in the Kenko.The vignetting that all the telephoto lenses have when the camcorder is in its wide angle zoom was slightly greater on the Kenko.Read more

Not Getting What Was Ordered
I ordered this item from Amazon.com and the item was shipped by Adorama. I went to a local camera store to get a 55mm UV filter and found out that the lens has no 55mm thread for the filter. According to specs in Tiffen website, the lens has this 55mm thread. The package of the lens is not labeled 'MegaPlus' and the body of the shipped item is black; Amazon.com website showed silver color. It looks like an old model. Amazon.com allows returns within 30 days; Adorama allows only 15 days as I found out too late. I feel that it was Adorama's error and email them about exchangeing for current model on 7/15. So far no response. I suggest Amazon.com to hold its partner stores to the same standard as itself. Most of east coast camera stores do not have good reputation. ... Read more

Fine 35mm lens for Leica Screw and M Mount rangefinders
The Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f1.7 aspherical wide angle lens offers at a reasonable price similar optical performance which Leica users have had to pay over a thousand dollars for. I have seen test reports where this lens is rated to perform as well as the last non-aspherical lens element Leica 35mm f2 Summicron lens. In practical terms unless you have to photograph constantly wide open, you won't notice any difference between this lens and the current, expensive 35mm f2 ASPH Summmicron-M lens. Leica M mount rangefinder users will have to purchase a screw to M mount adaptor to mount this lens onto their cameras. ... Read more
