Works great no more guesswork
I was initially very skeptical of rangefinders after using a friends and not being able to easily acquire the target.Once I decided on this model and used it I haven't got one bad thing to say about it.Target acquisition is super fast and accurate, just point at the flagstick or target needing yardage feedback and it shoots it with the correct yardage immediately.Buy this unit with no doubts that you will have purchased the best rangefinder available.I have gotten yardages from the flag at over 280 yards with it so far and I'm sure it will go further than that once I try. It gives you total confidence that you are using the right club and you will soon know exactly how far you hit each club to the yard.No more guesswork.

Bushnell 1500 is a great rangefinder alternative
I considered various alternatives of rangefinders and am thrilled that I chose both this type and this model.It is easy to use, has great features and is very accurate.I primarily use just the distance feature, but for non-competitive rounds the effective distance feature taking into consideration upward or downward slope is very cool.I also like the carrying case which can be attached to a bag or pull cart and provides easy accessibility to the rangefinder.I just returned from a trip to Ireland where many of the courses have few if any distance markers.It was indespensible.

Beware-this is not tournament legal
The Pinseeker Tournament Edition is the yardage pro you want to purchase.This yardage pro has slope and is therefore not legal to use for tournament play.Unfortunately Amazon does not list this in the description so I had to return it and of course they charged me shipping to return it.When I ordered it I was given free shipping, but because I returned it Amazon then charged for shipping it to me.Because Amazon failed to describe this product fully I was charged twice for shipping.Beware of purchasing anything from Amazon--I will never shop from them again!!!! ... Excellent rangefinder
I use this for golf yardage when I'm in a location where the yardage is hard to determine. Very accurate. Does require a steady hand. Would not recommend more magnification than this one has as it would be very difficult to hold steady enough for a target as small as a flag.

The top aid for the golfer
It is light; has 6X magnification; and easy to use.This little tool is great for any golfer.You must know the yardage before you can select the correct club.How far is it to either the top of that bunker next to the green or the flagstick?Next,you just then need to pull the club that will get you there.Fits on your belt through a loop in the safe carrying case or use the supplied clip to attached the case to your golf bag.These NEW laser rangefinders are better than ever and at a lower price than previous models. I got a Nikon laser rangefinder for Chrisymas and it had an 8x magnification. I found this to be to powerful for golf.I could not hold it steady on the flag.The 6x magnification on the Bushnell Yardage Pro Scout was much better. Does what they say it does
This thing works exactly as advertised.I use it for golf, and it does a very good job of separating the flag from other background objects, even when wind or my over-caffeinated hands make it hard to get the target centered on the flag.Even works when there is no wind and the flag is hanging straight down.This is well worth the cost adder over cheaper ones that don't work nearly as well. ... Excellent for Golf
I've used this since 2001 and extensively in 2006 now that it's USGA legal.Not sure why others have having trouble holding this steady.Anything <200 yards I have no problem hitting the flag (you don't aim at the stick, you aim at the flag).Excellent for getting distances to bunkers, trees, and other hazards.
Great idea but not effective -- too difficult to hold steady
I bought the Bushnell Yardage Pro Tour Laser Rangefinder despite warnings about the inability to hold it steady enough.I have no tremor; neither do I have any problems with steadiness; however, I found it practically impossible to hold the laser crosshairs on the flagstick from 60-100 yards away without getting a multitude of readings, depending upon what reflection it relied upon. I found myself with a multiple choice reading, and even the one closest to my estimate was doubtful.Even steadying the binoculars on the cart edge didn't really help much.
Not Up To Par!
I have used a Bushnell Yardage Pro400 Laser Rangefinder since June, 1997. This summer it went belly-up, so I purchased the Bushnell Yardage Pro Tour (#200002), a much smaller instrument than the Pro400, which was like a binocular. However, with our new reflector flagsticks, I could read beyond 400 yards by merely pointing toward the green, without actually seeing the flag. It worked great. The Yardage Pro Tour, while small and convenient, is no where near as accurate or sensitive as the Pro400. It's hard to hold steady and must be exactly on the reflector flagstick to get a reading. It has a special feature, which if you depress the button for more than 3 seconds, it starts scanning (It usually takes longer than 3 seconds to get any reading). With a jiggling hand, the instrument flashes various yardage numbers faster than one can read them of whatever the instrument is scanning at that instant. Even with the flagstick laser reflectors, it's very difficult to get a reading. It's almost impossible to read the flag from beyond 150 yards. Certainly, it can't compare with the old Pro400. I sent the Pro400 to Bushnell for a repair, but they have no parts for it. They did offer to sell me a Yardage Pro Trophy (#202018), a lesser model than the Yardage Pro Tour, for $150. I can't honestly recommend the Yardage Pro Tour. If I had it to do over, I'd probably buy the Elite 1500, a larger, more expensive instrument reminiscent of the Pro400. ... Read more

How would I know, amazon.com won't deliver it!!
I ordered mine at amazon.com's back in early December.I am still waiting for it.They have delayed it 3 times already.They are telling me now that I might get it come April.At this rate, perhaps I will finally get it before next Christmas!Don't be fooled by their "1-2 days shipping".Sure, it only takes 1-2 days to ship it; after they hold your order for 4 MONTHS.Other than amazon.com, this might be a good product.

Not the best, but you get what you pay for
I bought this at a local Sporting Goods store for $150 because of the price and brought it to the range.I could range the 50, 100 and 150 signs.I was able to range the 181 yard flag...once only.And the bright yellow 200 yard sign....forget it. I tried until the battery was dying, balanced it against a board and still couldn't hit it. Forget all the other pins.I was able to return it and am waiting for a Nikon with it's First Priority program to go on sale.Maybe good for other uses, but not golf.

I decided I wanted a range finder when I played golf with my father-in-law.He had the Bushnell Yardage Pro 1000 and it worked great.Just point, shoot, and the yardage to the hole was returned promptly every time.Read more

Shake, rattle and roll
I bought my Nikon LaserCaddy after trying a friend's Bushnell Pinseeker on a Florida golf trip. The Bushnell impressed me, but it seemed expensive, and I figured Nikon probably knows a thing or two about optics, so how big a risk could it be? I didn't want the "illegal" slope correction feature anyway, and that made the LaserCaddy a decent bet.
Nikon LaserCaddy 500G
Can't beat Nikon glass! Great optics. I've compared it to several Bushnell models and the Nikon is clearer. It give fast readings easily up to 300+ yds. There is slight magnification which is a nice feature. Easy to hold steady and best of all it's SMALL enough to fit in your pocket during play. It's a hassle trying carry around (with case/in/out of cart) the Bushnell 1500 during play. HIGHLY recommend!

Nikon Laser Caddy 500G
I have found that you need a very steady hand (much better than mine)as any movement from the flagstick will get variable readings. Bushnell Pro Legend Rangefinder
Excellent rangefinder. I did not find any of the negative issues the previous reviewer listed. I find it works great in the woods and it does exactly as advertised. I was able to range trees at nearly 900 yards. This is better than advertised. It works great on the golf course too. I've owned a Bushnell Sport and a Simmons 800. The Legend is far superior to both. The Sport was okay but it had a very limited range. The Simmons had a better range but the eye pc is too small and is very hard to use if you wear eyeglasses. The Legend is a great buy and superior product.

Not for use in the woods!
The Bushnell Yardage Pro Legend is the waterproof version of the Scout.It is a solid feeling unit with excellent sensitivity.I was able to range on a pencil-sized twig at 60yds. and a 6" fence post at 250yds. IN THE OPEN.Unfortunately, this sensitivity seems to be a disadvantage in the woods!I could not get a reading on a 16" tree at 50yds. because there were some unseen (by me) twigs between me and the tree.The zip mode only works for >150yds. and in fairly open terrain.I will be returning this unit.The Nikon 400 works better in the woods. ...
