5-0 out of 5 stars Great Beginner SLR Camera to Grow With!!
I bought this camera a year ago as my starter camera to learn about film photography. I really didn't know anything about photography when I purchased it, and I still have A LOT to learn, however, I feel as though it's a camera that can grow with me. It has automatic presets that make taking photos for a novice handy - not much thought required, but also allows you to set manual settings so you can experiment and learn.
3-0 out of 5 stars Realize what entry level means...
Being an entry level SRL, the camera body is cheap & light because it is made out of plastic. This more than fine for someone who'd like an SRL to use for specal occasions - kids'birthdays, graduations, or the occasional family road trip.
4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent entry level camera
I love the camera but it seems difficult to find some accessories which I had come to rely on with my old camera.I may just have to upgrade to another Canon SLR.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars terrible camera
I received the camera without any instructions as how to operate. But thought how hard can it be? Well, the date was next to impossible to set. So I have the wrong date on my pictures. The film does not load easily. the indicators for the auto flash etc. are so tiny it is next to impossible to see! But being a tenacious person I did go ahead and take pictures using two rolls of film. the pictures are just okay. I hate the camera and would not advise anyone who is not a camera expert to buy it!!!!!! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Accurate color reproduction, but not very sharp with detail
Firstly let me just say, that I'm slightly confused as to all the different 35mm Fuji 'quicksnap' cameras out there. The 2 that I used were like the one shown here, but a slightly different color. Anyway, on to the review: 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Camera!
Recently I bought 2 One Time Use Cameras. The Kodak Max HQ Camera and a Fuji Quicksnap Flash Camera. After finishing both Camera's I had the Kodak Camera/Film Developed at a Kodak Express, then the Fuji Camera/Film developed at a Fuji Lab. The Results were very different to each other. The Fuji Quicksnap Flash is clearly the Superior Film/Camera. While the Kodak Prints came back slightly blurry with not much color, the Fuji Prints were Crystal Clear with exceptional Clarity and Bright Colors. The Fuji Camera was also cheaper than the Kodak HQ!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fuji Film is taking over
I work in the photo processing world, I am a manager of a high volume photo lab and I must say that Fuji film has taken very large steps to over take Kodak in the film world. From their minilabs, to their digital kiosks, to their one time use 35mm cameras, Fuji film is the way to go.From truer colors, more real film grains, to the obvious less blur, this camera is a wise decision for a one time use camera. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars good
if you use one time use cameras a lot, buy this one instead.it will save you a lot of money, and it's the same quality as one time use.its great for its price.the only thing is when you're taking the picture, the screen is really blurry and everything is really small.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute, unassuming, and affordable
This is the kind of camera you may want to take with you instead of a disposable. Pros:It's light, small, a no-brainer inexpensive tool to catch snapshots, and, last but not least, has a wide angle lens with reasonable sharpness for a focus-free camera. Cons: Film loading must be carefully performed away from light to avoid marks on your shots (but that's true for most cameras), and, obviously, image sharpness cannot match an autofocus P&S. Overall, a cute little thing.

3-0 out of 5 stars Like the brand, camera OK
I purchased this camera from my mother when she went digital.I like this camera, but the auto focus drives me nuts.As someone who takes lots of pictures of wildlife as i hike and horseback ride, it is frustrating to not get the picture because the auto focus won't focus for a quick shot.I have gotten good shots, as did my mother before me but we both dislike the auto focus.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous camera
I'm a photography student and this is my first SLR.I bought here on Amazon but through the MarketPlace at a highly discounted price.I am thrilled at the shots I've taken in the past six months.I've learned to use the manual features to enhance my pictures and feel comfortable in many situations to use the fully automatic focus, aperture, f stop, etc.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too much hype over this camera
Alot of my photos taken at night are grainy or blurry. This camera is ok, not worth all the hype it's getting. Not to mention developing doubles will cost you about $15 per roll. I would stick with digital or 35mm over this.

3-0 out of 5 stars not bad
I have owned this camera for about six months now, and overall I like the compact design, the variety of features it offers and the pretty decent zoom. If you also have a Canon EOS, slow your trigger finger, since the autofocus of the elph is not quite as snappy as the one on your high performance SLR. The flash is very limited in range, so this is ideal for indoor shots at smaller parties, but not at bigger events where you want to cover some distance. Twice I have had problems with fresh APS film involuntarily rewinding and popping out of the camera as used even though only one picture had been taken, but that may have been an issue with the film rather than with the camera. The zoom and autofocus use up quite a bit of battery juice, and the power will go pretty much without warning, so if you travel, have extras handy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great replacement camera
I have a 10 year old Minolta 35-mm camera that I've just about beaten up.So, I borrowed this camera from my sister for my trip to Europe last month. The color and B&W pictures came out great.I especially loved the panoramic feature for those broad Italian landscapes and the great outside shots of Versailles and the Louvre! The only time the pictures didn't come out nice ... and this is my only complaint ... was when I was taking shots in a dark church or taking night shots.More often than not, those pictures came out blurry or grainy.Maybe if I used different film (I only used 400 speed while I was in Europe), or held my hand steadier it wouldn't have been a problem -- I'll have to play around with it a little.Otherwise, it is a great camera!Perfect for traveling -- light, compact, and inconspicuous. In fact, I plan on buying one for myself before my next trip abroad! ... The Action Sampler takes a great idea and turns it into a fun little camera. This camera uses four lenses to capture four different photos on one frame of film. The Action Sampler takes the photos a fraction of a second apart, creating an "action sample" that shows the sequence of motion. My friend bought this and gave it to me before she moved so I was only going to be out $10 to shoot off a roll.I am impressed.I got some really good pics with it, but just as many came out god awful and totally useless. Then again most rolls of film you shoot come out that way.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding 35MM SLR Film camera
I've shot Minolta 35MM SLRs since 1974 (SRT101). I've owned this camera for 6 years and it is a workhorse in my camera bag. (I also own an Olympus 5 Megapixel digital).
3-0 out of 5 stars Exposure Problems
I have a mixed review of this camera since i bought it about 8 months ago. Over all the technology for the price you get in this camera is great, with the exception of the Auto Focus (AF). When used in manual, you can get great pictures with this camera, but then you can get good pictures with any camera that works in manual, if you know what your doing. So the real issue is how good the AF works, which is how you end up taking 80% of your shots anyways. The AF on the Minolta HTsi Plus has some problems. One, it is a little slow to focus. I tried the Canon Rebel in the camera shop after I bought this camera and found the AF to be much faster. Two, this camera seems to have some serious exposure problems in AF. It never quite gets the exposure right. For example outside shots look bleached out more often then not, even when you try to light meter off the brightest spot first. Also, the contrast in color seems to always come out weak with this camera. I am not sure how much of this is the camera's fault or lens's fault as film also plays a role here, but pictures defiantly come out color poor. I have used a number of different films with this and they all come out color poor.3-0 out of 5 stars Minolta HTsi Plus AF Camera
This has been a great camera for 3 years and 2000 pictures. However it recently has been giving me some trouble. It is now at Minolta getting fixed for $130.00. The first thing that happened was the built in flash would not fire anymore. Then a few weeks later the camera would not even power up. This camera has taken alot of great pictures for me I was just a little disapointed it just quit on me. The only cons I would say about the camera is no Date Imprinting,no Depth of field check. There also is no Panoramic mode and the XI 3500 flash I used when, on the camera hotshoe the red eye function would not work. It is a good camera I would just recomend an extended warranty. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars It blows!!
When I went to a football game, I took photos of the game with the flash on. The photos came out too dark when you zoom in. So I decided to take photos WITHOUT the flash. I recognized that the orange button was blinking repeatedly. When I looked in the manual, it said that it was because the camera was shaking, which the camera was still. It said to use a tripod. I got my pictures back, after trying EVERY mode possible without the flash, and almost ALL of them came out blurry. Why make a camera without a flash if all of the pictures are going to come out blurry?? So basically you can only use this camera with a flash or outside or all of the pictures are going to come out blurry?? Canon has been known for making great cameras and scanners/printers. But this camera was just down right horrid when it came to getting a decent picture. It is overpriced garbage and people at Canon should have made a sure shot camera that lived up to its name. The zoom is nice, as it gets good close ups. But when it comes to using this camera without flash, it is impossible without a tripod. I am not about to bring a tripod to a football game. Why have a sports feature on the camera FOR MOVING OBJECTS if the feature is not going to work?? Seems to me, that the folks at Canon are bonafied MORONS!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A love/hate relationship
I bought this camera before reading the reviews, and then was pretty uncomfortable when I saw all the negative comments. That said, I needed a camera for my first trip to Hawaii that was 1)not expensive, 2)light enough to carry around, and 3)uncomplicated. (I am notorious for NOT wanting to read instructions. Some people love to read those fat little manuals from cover to cover. Not me.)
1-0 out of 5 stars complicated
I purchased this camera to take on a Disney vacation. I decided to use it before the trip to make sure I would be pleased with it. It is complicated to use, even after reading instruction manual. Focusing & centering objects are no easy task; neither is exchanging it for another. Definitly NOT what I had in mind; I wanted a Sure Shot. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera
A wonderful camera for beginner to pro.The camera's many features allow you to grow from using automatic features to solely manual.Comfortable in your hands too.The eye start feature is great for action situations but should be turned off otherwise due to battery comsumption. The camera's many features allow you to use it under any and all situations and, even as a new photographer, come out with good photographic results. Many kudos to Minolta for providing one of the best instruction books I have ever seen with the Xtsi.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love the Minolta XTsi
I bought this camera a year ago (from Wolf Camera in Charlotte). I love it! It is easy to use and produces sharp, clear photos. I have to turn off the autofocus sometimes, but that seems to be true of most AF cameras. I like how I can have complete control over the aperture and shutter speed (as well as focus), or I can let the camera control any or all of these functions. There are many other configurable features as well. I initially bought a 28-105 Sigma lens and just added a 70-300, with Macro. The lens that comes with this camera would be good to start out with. ... Read more

With the E-100RS, Olympus does what many other manufacturers refuse to do: produce a quality, innovative camera without a high-resolution CCD. Rather than cramming as many new features as possible into their highest-resolution flagship model and relegating the lower-resolution CCDs to simple point-and-shoot style cameras (as many manufacturers are wont to do), Olympus has started to create unique, capable digital cameras across a spectrum of resolutions--something that helps to keep prices down, while increasing both speed and storage capacity. Someone please comment on the quality of and ability to take pictures of the stars and moon with this camera please/thanks.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT! tons of cool features...
...This is a really great camera to say the least. It was pretty easy for me to figure out how to use it after playing with it for an hour. I love that it can shoot in both color and black & white. It can also take QuickTime movies. It works with both Smart Media and Compact Flash cards. If you have a 128 mb card and use the cam in a the lowest resolution, it can take almost 1,500 photos!! Pictures are high-quality (crisp and detailed). Colors are vibrant and true. Works EXCELLENT in low-light conditions. There are tons of other things and settings to play with and you can even program your favorite settings into it. It has Telephoto, macro mode, and image-stabalization. One feature that I found particularly useful is the tiny remote. Just put the cam on a tripod, (press a button & a red light shows you exactly where to stand), get in position and take your self photos. I absolutly LOVE this camera! FYI, this camera is somewhat heavy, not a big deal if it doesn't bother you. I recomend getting a good sturdy tripod. The camera also comes with very high-quality batteries. None of the rechargables I bought lasted nearly as long, but I would recommend getting at least 2 spare sets of rechargables for when you're "out and about". An ac-adapter would be a good investment if you plan on using the camera for extended periods of time indoors. Oh, it also comes with Adobe Photoshop 5 LE. The other software that comes with the camera is "ok", I didn't really need it since my preffered method of downloading photos is with a card reader.5-0 out of 5 stars Fast, fun, & easy to run
The E-100RS is a great package. I've owned dozens of cameras, but this, without a doubt, is the most fun. A 10X optical, and 27X digital (the best digital resolution I've seen so far) let you reach out and grab things, even if they're a mile or more away. The rapid fire capability is great for getting just the right shot... take the best and dump the rest, but you won't miss that perfect pose or facial expression because you snapped at the wrong split second. The 640x480 movies look almost as good as my Sony Hi8 camcoder video and full screen, none of this postage stamp sized movie. I sold a 3.3 megapixel to buy this as in over 2600 photos with it, I never utilized more than 1280x960. This camera does a nice 1368X1024 which is more than I need. I have printed dozens of 8X10 enlargements from 1280x960 photos and they look fantastic. This camera is probably notfor the technologically phobic types. It only took me a couple days to fully understand how to run, but I'm a network engineer by trade and play with electronics all day. The menu could be a little more intuitive, but it's not bad. Many features that you use most often have external buttons so you don't need to go into the menu system. The electronic viewfinder is wonderful, giving you all the info that the full LCD screen would through the eyepiece at a fraction of the power consumption. Plan on buying an AC adapter, Extra NiMH batteries (probably 2 more sets as they give you one set of 1600Mah and a nice charger with it), a 49mm Haze filter to protect the lens, and a 128 meg Smartmedia or compact flash (or both for a total 256MB like I did!). No regrets so far from selling my Sony 3.3MP... and I am having a ball with this camera. Can't wait to take it to some motorcycle races or other sporting events where it'll really shine! And one last piece of info: I had to call Olympus tech support for a few questions on memory cards and external flash cord and their customer service was OUTSTANDING! Got a live, knowledgable technician in under 2 minutes and he answered my questions instantly without typing a query into a database... he really knew the product. I'm impressed!Great product and service... hard to find there days! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST camera I have ever bought
I have the Kodak C700 Advantix camera now for about 4 yrs. I absolutely LOVE it and would not trade it in for anything (not even a digital camera).
5-0 out of 5 stars Versatile and dependable APS camera
I purchased this camera mainly for the camera size and panoramic feature. The option to switch from C (classic-4x6), H (group-HDTV-4x7) - default size, or P (panoramic-4x11.5) formats at anytime is great. The features are very simple, but this camera packs a lot into its small size. The "flash fill" feature works well. The flash bulb placement seems to reduce the red-eye as advertised. The self-timer has a delay of 10 seconds. Loading and unloading the film cassette couldn't be easier, especially with the mid-roll change feature. You can also view the film speed on the display at a few presses of a button. There are onscreen messages on the LCD display that tell you "FLASH NOT READY" or "MOVE BACK". The frame counter indicates how many exposures you have left.5-0 out of 5 stars Crisp and clear - without fear!
The C700 is one of the few Advantix cameras that will allow you to change film mid-roll!It is unbelievable how convenient this is when you want to take a black&white photo but the camera has colour film in it (of course you need to have the black&white roll of film on hand). My poor camera has been kicked, dropped and abused over its life of traveling with me and has never failed; not one crack, not one bad picture, nothing! All of the controls are easy to use and clearly marked.Read more

Pentax's new ZX-7 offers compact size, solid performance, ease of use,and impressive capability. The ZX-7 offers the photographer both auto and manualfocus. The camera has three autofocus (AF) points for sensing the subject andwill automatically switch to predictive AF mode if it detects subject movement. The AF system is focus priority, so the shutter is locked until the camerafocuses on something, virtually guaranteeing that you won't shoot a picture thatisn't focused. If you prefer to use the manual focus setting, the AF statuslight will glow when you have achieved correct focus.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Camera
I have had this camera for almost 3 years now. In this time I have taken shots in a variety of settings and each time it has surprised me with amazing pics. The Auto mode is very good and usually good except in low light (twilight kind of situations). Auto focus is reasonable again except in very low light where you may need to use manual focus. Overall the Pentax Body and Pentax lens very good. You may want to buy an additional lens for telephoto requirements.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this nice camera!!
I have owned this camera since last Christmas. It's very convenient and easy to use and picture quality is great. I have taken more than 7 rolls and have no complaint. I really like its auto mode. In particular, I was so impressed by its "night power". I went to Las Vegas and took some nice night scenens without flash. The result was more than amazing. My friend told me that the pictures looked like post cards.5-0 out of 5 stars AN EXCELLENT BEGINNER CAMERA
THIS CAMERA IS WONDERFUL FOR EXCELLENT QUALITY PICTURES AND ITS EASY TO USE. I RECENTLY TOOK SOME PICTURES OF ONE OF MY FRIENDS MODELING NEAR A LAKE AND SOME PEOPLE WHO SAW THE PICTURES THOUGHT THEY WERE PROFESSIONALY DONE. THIS CAMERA TAKES GOOD CLEAR PICTURES AND IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY. I DEFINETLY RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA TO ANYONE! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great camera at a great price
I shopped around and did research before purchasing my Minolta and found that this camera had all the features (plus some) of the more expensive, heavier cameras in its class. The eye-start feature is an excellent feature, the camera focuses automatically when brought to your eye(this feature can be turned off).5-0 out of 5 stars An awesome camera for a great price
If you're looking for a nice camera to get you started in your photography hobby, I highly recommend checking this out. I have used both the Maxxum 4 and Maxxum 5. You can't go wrong with either - the quality that Minolta keeps is wonderful.5-0 out of 5 stars The Ideal Beginner Camera
