4-0 out of 5 stars Double your focal length
I realize now that I probably would have been fine with the non-PRO version of the teleconverter -- I'm not certain whether the differences between the PRO and standard actually justify the extra cost (unless you use Canon L lenses perhaps). But that is neither here nor there.
3-0 out of 5 stars 2x exrender
The lens is very good, however, no place in the ads did it mention that this lens was not intended for use with digital cameras. I discovered that the auto focus did not work at all well, but it was usable with manuel focus to some degree.I am somewhat disappointed.................Joe Ehrlich ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great film!!!
I have been using this film and only this film for my Canon aps camera for over 4 years. The prints come out with outstanding quality. It is great with taking pics indoors with dim lighting. The pics came out great and the faces were clear instead of black dots on shoulders. The outdoor pics are amazing. They are rich in color and full of detail. This film is also great at the beach. The pics do not come out overexposed or too bright. This film evens out the lighting and balances it perfectly so that you get the best shot. Most of my pics are frameable and everyone wants copies of them.

3-0 out of 5 stars not that great
i do not think that this is good film.i would suggest going with the 400 speed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars versatile wide-angle
I got it because I intend to use it on both my film and my digital bodies. For ultra wide angles I'll use it with film (Nikon N-80) and for more conventional wide angle with my Nikon D-200.It's one of three lenses I'm taking with me on vacation to the mountain states. The others are a Nikkor 28mm - 85mm and a Nikkor 70mm - 300mm with 2X Tamron SP doubler. Since I don't yet have photoshop or similar I wanted to be able to take real wide shots without having to paste them together. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Kodak T-Max 400 professional film offers high speed, very high sharpness, extremely fine grain, and high resolving power. It's especially useful for shooting fast action, for dimly lit scenes where you can't use flash, for subjects that require good depth of field combined with fast shutter speeds, and for hand-holding telephoto lenses for fast action or in dim light. This film is also useful for scientific and biomedical work, especially when fluorescent photography is required. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A good choice for students.
This is the type of film consistently reccommended or required in my university art photography classes. It works well at a variety of shutter speeds, is usually reasonably priced, easy to find at a variety of retailers (including Amazon.com), and has a good tonal range. The developing times are consistent, and the film is popular enough that there are many resources online and elsewhere to help you get the most out of your film. A good basic choice all around.
4-0 out of 5 stars T-max 400 speed film
This film is great. It is good for many situations and is very flexible. You can pretty much be safe with 400 speed film.It is an average film that will allow for low/bright light subject matter. It is good for outdoors.Good travel film, since you don't always know what the weather will be like. 5-0 out of 5 stars God Aweful!!!Kodak is better
I have never used Fuji film in my Canon aps camera before, so I decided to give it a try.Big mistake for thinking that film with the same speed is the same as the rest.I took pictures at an outdoor wedding with Fuji 200 aps film and Kodak 200 aps film and the Fuji prints were terrible. The fuji prints were grainy and the colors looked washed out.The pictures taken with the Kodak film were much sharper and colors were vibrant.Fuji film is a waste of money. Pay little more and go with Kodak. You will not be sorry.Cheap film means cheap looking pictures.I will never use Fuji film again.

5-0 out of 5 stars High quality and value priced!

Editorial Review

Sigma's 1.4X APO teleconverter lens features gives you a high-performance optical design with five elements in three groups. It is optimized for use with long telephoto and telezoom lenses, and is ideally suited for use with the 70-200mm F2.8 APO EX HSM zoom lens. Using 10-pin electrical interfaces, there is no loss of autofocusing speed when these teleconverters are used with compatible HSM type lenses. This model is dedicated to Canon AF SLR cameras. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Bargain alternative to Canon's 1.4x Teleconverter?
The Sigma APO teleconverter is a little more than half the price of the Canon teleconverter, and it boasts an APO element to reduce chromatic aberration.I've found this teleconverter to be reasonably sharp, but there is noticeable vignetting when I use it with my Canon 300mm f4.Sigma claims that the teleconverter is designed to be matched with their high-end tlelphoto lenses, and perhaps this is the case. However, I wasn't very satisfied with the performance of this teleconverter. ... Kodak Kodachrome 64 film works well for general-use photography, including outdoor, travel, and nature shots. Though this film is intended forexposure with daylight or an electronic flash, it can also be exposed totungsten illumination (3,200 K) when using filters. Color prints, enlargements, duplicate slides, internegatives, and photo CDs can be made from the originalslides. This slide film requires a special developing process that is notavailable at all photo-processing centers. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Still the standard by which all photos are judged...
I've been shooting Kodachrome 64 since about 1983, so I guess that I'm a fairly "new" user. When I first became addicted to the 35mm SLR photography hobby, I started out with prints, just like everybody else.Since I wasn't doing my own darkroom work, I quickly became disenchanted with the wide variance of quality and color reproduction that prints offered.Have you ever tried to take a properly exposed picture of a night scene with a moon in the background, and then have it printed so that it doesn't come out looking like a light bulb in a gray soup? You know what I'm talking about.Plus, I was displeased with the resolution that prints seemed to offer.
5-0 out of 5 stars Still brilliant after all these years.
The only photograph more brilliant and realistic than a Kodachrome slide is a Kodachrome stereo ["3-D"] slide.I have some that my grandfather took with his Stereo Realist in the 1950s, and they look as if they were taken yesterday.I once showed one to a friend for the first time, who exclaimed "It looks REAL, and you want to BE there!"You really do sometimes get the feeling that you could step into the scene, and look around.
5-0 out of 5 stars Kodachrome:Still the Best
I can't add much more to the reviews posted here, but I just wanted to say that I shot my first rolls of Kodachrome film last week and the slides I got back, frankly, just blew me away. The tonal gradation, the detail and resolution, the color--if you haven't seen Kodachrome, you just haven't seen anything.DIGITAL CANNOT COMPARE--digital's not even close, not by a mile.Other slide films are a completely different animal and do not compare. My father has fifty year old Kodachrome slides that he took while stationed in Japan and they look like they came back from the photo lab today. When you see images taken fifty years ago in such living color, the effect is earth shattering. You don't go back in time--the past moves into the present. It's really unbelievable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fabulous
I mainly use this lens inside the studio, so I use studio lights to control the lighting of a subject. The higher the magnification, the more lighting is needed.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing lens, amazing fun!
I got this lens a couple years ago and use it extensively. It is well constructed and easy to use with any Canon EOS body, though it must be focused manually. This is the only tool I know of that enables easy *field* photography above 2x magnification.I have stalked the tiniest insects and peered into the hearts of flowers with this astounding lens, and my transparencies are crisp and clean every time.It comes with a tripod ring (same one as several other Canon lenses use, just in black), which greatly aids switching to a vertical format without having to reposition everything.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good lens but is it really worth $390?
I use this lens at work every day, and in general it's a very good lens. The optics are sharp, and the focus, athough not fast, is not something to complain about.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great for travel
This is a wonderful lens.It is especially nice for travel photos in cities, indoors, and for some landscapes. You also need to get a hood because of the wide angle of view.In addition, you need a filter to protect the lens as well as function as a filter -haze or polarizer. The filter must be a special wide angle filter (thin metal ring) and you won't be able to attach the lens cap over the filter.Small price to pay, however. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Wide Angle Macro Zoom!
Although this lens is a bit on the heavy side, it makes a great walk-around lens for everyday shooting and vacations. I shot a roll of Agfa Precisa 100 and the results were remarkable. Very accurate colors and excellent contrast. If you have to travel light, this is the lens to carry. If you plan on using it on a digital camera, it's still fairly wide at a film equivalent of 38 mm at the low end of the zoom. ... Read more
