Finally, a Not Disappointing Digital Picture Frame
The Philips Digital Picture Frame deserves its fine reviews. In fact, it's the first picture frame that lives up to the potential of the product category. I've found other picture frames to be disappointing. Not so with this frame. It works well on many levels; it's attractive, delivers a bright and detailed image, has a satisfying user interface with intelligent options, even the packaging is unusually clever. Nice job Philips.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME
You cannot go wrong with this item!! I am an investigative person and was looking for the perfect digital picture frame to give my fiance as a gift. I read many reviews and it wasn't until I read one that stated "Don't waste your money on this (name of frame omitted), just buy the Phillips." that I even considered the Phillips frames. Mainly this was because all the info I found on it did not mention that it had a card reader and most did not have any customer reviews. I did however find the same product but with out the additional colored frames, that had plenty of reviews to read. I included the link below if you would like to read those as well.

Top value for the money!
I read all the previous reviews before purchasing this unit.Because of the low cost (hundreds less than most alternatives), I decided to go ahead.My wife and I love it!I did obtain the firmware upgrade and as far as we are concerned, it nicely fits photos into the frame without the stretching we and others have seen.I do not see any lack of yellow as noted above, and the pictures are detailed enough to allow the main objective (taking lots of photos along on a trip to share with friends) to be met.The OS is a bit slow, but, hey! it's under $100!I recommend this unit for an electronic replacement of photo albums... I have a 1G SD which is half full with every digital photo we have taken over the past 6 years!Definitely, get the firmware upgrade, though.

Not Quite There
The product would be more satiafying if:
Terrible picture quality and buggy firmware
I just received one of these today.I was drawn to the nice leather frame (and it is nice).The picture quality, however, reminded me of an old videogame.The faces almost looked painted they had so little depth and detail, and the dots were still visible at 3 feet away.

spots on second screen 3 months after replcing the 1st
This product is faulty (a lemon), the first one stopped working after 5 months, they sent a new one after two months; that one developed spots on the screen two months later as others have reported.
Only lasted about 6 months
I bought this frame about 6 months ago.At first I loved it.The picture quality was great.It was simple to use.And with the external card, I could load lots of pictures into it.
No customer service
After two months the remote broke, Digital Spectrum refused to replace it stateing the seller wasn't an authorized seller, they have been no help in resolveing the problem I would discourage anyone from buying this product due to the uncareing additude of Digital Spectrum. ... Read more

Good product, but could be better
I bought two of these units, one for me and one for my grandfather and both of the A/V cable included were damaged within a week. It must be a cheap cable because the units were never moved from their original position.

This product was purchased as a replacement for an exact duplicate unit which failed. Itworks well, instructions are somewhat vague.

Clever, useful
A good solution to the "problem" of displaying digital photos, especially for those -- like grandparents -- who may not be computer savvy or want to look at photos sitting at a workstation.

NuVue gives a Good View
It has a nice bright picture.I'm using my 512MB SD card from my (jpg) camera. I take pictures with my camera all day and then plug the SD card into it at night for review.It sits on the kitchen table where we can be close enough to see and enjoy the pictures, after all it is only 4x6 inches in size.The SD card is pushed so far into the device that it is a little difficult to pull out.Takes small fingers.There's no eject button.That needs to be changed on future models.It has a nice long black cord for 110 volt AC power.It's only $100 so it's affordable. ... Takes a little practice
At first it was a little hard to get my pictures to look as good as the samples, but I found that by re-sizing them to about an inch or so on the computer before downloading them that they show up alot better. Also, the ones with higher contrast are easier to see farther away. Just look at the samples that come pre-loaded to remind yourself that it is possible to get great-looking pics at a surprisingly high resolution. After a few practice downloads I was thrilled with the results. **Another plus: this one came with a wall charger. Most have to be plugged in to the USB to charge. OK, just don't expect too much
This product is cheap and basically does what it promises.It may deserve more stars because of that, but it just isn't very high quality.Photos are hard to see given size and resolution of screen.You need good head shots and not much else.There are larger more expensive products of this type out there.I'd go that route rather than purchase this again.

Not a good idea.....
Well I thought this might be nice for my husband's birthday gift so he could carry around pictures of our daughter, but when he downloaded them, it was quite disappointing to say the least.You can't make out the faces and the quality is poor :(
