4-0 out of 5 stars Solid.
After using this camera for a little while, I can say that the picture quality was better than I expected after reading some other reviews. It struggles just a little bit if there's a lot of contrast in the image in that the picture is just a wee bit dark. The menu system is fairly intuitive and the LCD is huge. On the downside, the LCD is huge and therefore more susceptible to damage in addition to draining the two AA's faster. It is certainly a rare breed of `wider-angle' 28mm point-and-shoot digital cameras that also takes AA batteries. It doesn't automatically power up into transfer mode when you plug in the USB cable like my Canon S60 did. The Samsung also makes you pick if you're connecting to a PC or printer after you turn it on and it detects the USB cable. The test I ran trying the Macro mode looked okay, except they were blurry without the flash, and too bright with it. It does feel like it takes a little bit longer than other cameras to focus and ready itself on targets. There is no standard viewfinder, so there's no way to shut off the display to conserve energy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wide angle zoom a big selling point
This is a decent small camera whose wide angle ability is its major selling point. The body is compact and sturdy, the controls simple, and all it has a very handy easy to use design. The drawbacks are a somewhat harsh flash and the fact that it takes AA batteries, which means it goes through them at quite a clip. Get rechargeables if you get this camera: the wide angle is irrisistable for scenery, so you'll wind up using it a lot.

4-0 out of 5 stars Samsung--in for the long haul
I have NO brand loyalty, so I never know what I may end up with.In my review of the Kodak P880 I made it clear what I don't want--a same-old same-old 38-114

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple Camera with All the Functions Needed....Great Starter
This camera was my second digital camera. It is very nice as far as price and picture goes. The pictures come out very clear but you would need to get an SD card because the internal memory will not hold more than 10 pictures. The functions are simple and ready to use. There is a single-button video function that takes long videos with audio. You can also add audio to still photos. The downside to this camera is that it uses a lot of battery. Do not use store-bought regular alkaline batteries as it will drain within 25-30 shots w/ flash. Please use at least a 2200 mah rechargeable battery. When using rechargeable batteries, you will find that you can get at least 150 to 200 shots, no problem. Still, the camera is a battery drainer. Also, the camera only tells you about low battery when it is low on battery. There is no battery scale on the LCD screen so you do not know when you would need new batteries. The LCD is enough for regular use to view pictures but I find it somewhat fuzzy in quality compared to transferring photos and viewing on the computer. The flash recycle time is longer than others and may not be able to take multiple shots within about 10 seconds.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good price, easy to use, questionable performance
I bought this camera priced-to-sell in a bundle pack. It's a good basic camera--certainly not streamlined or flashy, though.Having used complicated cameras, I must say the menu for this is very easy to navigate. So far, I've had a chance to take pictures with it indoors, and have noticed something funny compared to other cameras I've used--you seem to have to stand ABSOLUTELY STILL when taking pictures with the flash, as one of the other reviewers noted.I've never experienced this before with any other camera I've used. This alone might be enough for me to return it, if I'm not able to find a mode where this doesn't happen.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great photos, but poor performance.
I purchased this for general family use and soon discovered that it drained batteries quickly (even specialty batteries) so I had to keep an extra set of batteries in the case. However, in fairness to HP the photos are superb and of photo lab quality. The biggest disappointment is the shutter speed. There's a one-second delay between the time you press the button and when the camera actually captures the image.

4-0 out of 5 stars My 327 HP digital camera, two months later
For the price, ease of use, compactness, and pics which for the most part are OK, I doubt you can beat this little camera. I was just a little disappointed in the quality of the pics generally, as I guess I had expected more with the 5 mp capability. My last camera, an HP 320, which cost about $80 and which had a 2.7 mp rating, seemed to produce pics just about as good. A feature that I really like is the video, which apparently will play for as long as you want, or at least until the batteries run out. Great fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT CAMERA
I have to say this is a great camera with beautiful prints every single time you snap a picture. I have had this camera for almost 9 months and I have not had one single complaint scince I got this. It's extremly simple to operate with not that many buttons or meconisims to use to get confused with. I recomend this to every one and you wont even know that you paid so little for this camera once you see the beautiful prints it delivers. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent camera
I had a Sony digi camera for some time.I found the features difficult to use in that one had to carry the manual around with you as a reference. While the pictures were excellent in general, I often failed to get the shot I wanted due to some adjustment that I had forgotten or couldn't otherwise access. The delay in the shutter was excessive. Then one day, the camera ceased to focus.Sony wanted in excess of $200 to make the repair and I decided to look at alternatives. This camera was the result and I love it.The menus are very well thought out and there are onboard instructions for everything. The camera is a comfortable size. The pictures are sharp and the mechanism is reliable. The battery life is amazing. The size and weight are very convenient. The shutter delay is very short. Best of all, the WiFi feature is a dream.Once you get it set up, you push a botton and the pictures are on your computer without wires or hassle. (You have to disable the Microsoft XP firewall however.)I feel that going with a company that has been making fine cameras forever was the choice that I should have made from the beginning.I am buying two more of a similiar Nikon model for my children who are off to college in the fall.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very good camera...but is WiFi necessary?
The Coolpix P3 has a lot of things going for it: 8 megapixels; sharp 3.5x zoom with Vibration Reduction; good quality 2.5" LCD; good in-camera menus; and good battery options. It also has the most "trick" hookup...WiFi.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera but consider skipping the wifi option
I'll leave the photo reviews to the web-sites....I'm troubled by the wifi...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera, low price
This camera is fantastic! When I compare printed photos from this camera with other 5MP cameras, I find the quality superior. The battery lasted for a week in the Bahamas with no recharge and several hundred pictures taken (just follow the directions and use the proper batteries!!) The printer dock is easy to use and prints very nice quality pictures fairly quickly. The cost is about $0.30 per print, but a great deal if your looking for high quality prints immediately! I think this camera is great!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointment
This camera is fine for simple outdoor photography, but anything overcast, in motion or requiring any variation of focus will yield a disappointing outcome. This camera is all but useless indoors--I certainly regret having taken it with me to Europe this summer, it was not worth its weight in luggage.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kodak Easyshare camera

1-0 out of 5 stars White Screen of Death Problem - Reset solution
There is a workable solution to the white screen of death problem, as offered by A. Jacobe as a comment to Rachel Ellen's Sept 4, 2006 post. This is a good camera when it's working but unfortunately, while within it's Sony warranty period, my S40 suffered 3 episodes of the white-screen-of-death (apparently, based on other reviews, this is not an uncommon problem and is seemingly, a design/software flaw that Sony is not acknowledging). This problem relates to the LCD screen turning white and the camera becoming inoperable. Changing the batteries does not fix this problem. I sent the camera for warranty repair twice. First time back (diagnosed as "Main Power Flex" problem), the repaired S40 lasted less than a month. After the second repair (diagnosed as "battery door problem"), the white-screen death appeared again within one week! By then, I knew that I either had a lemon or that the authorized Enfield, CT, repair facility wasn't good at what they do. I also did not want to spend any more time and money sending it in for a futile 3rd repair. Wish I had read Jacobe's resetting tip earlier - would have saved me all the needless aggravation. Jacobe's solution is to reset by pressing all 3 buttons on the back of the camera(MENU; Display/LCD on/off; Image size/Delete) simultaneously while turning on the camera. This is a workable but short-term solution as the camera, with its integral flaw, will continue to "excite" with the unpredictable white screens of death. Imagine having the paparazzi shot-of-the-century just a click away and your S40 coughs up a white screen and refuses to work. Time for me to get a new digital camera.

1-0 out of 5 stars Camera DIES after a year!!!!
I get a white screen now and cannot take pictures. I have to bang on it a few times and it'll come and go. I've only had this camera a little over a year and it's already dying on me. Ridiculous. I see many others have the same problem.
5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT DEAL
A few years ago this was an awesome camera, and the only reason it should be considered mediocre by the average user is because of the availability of higher megapixels and better (slimmer) design in newer cameras. But, as a camera in general, this one is great for snapshots and everyday use.I wouldnot be searching for a new one had a friend of mine not dropped this one in the toilet! It even survived many intoxicated nights out...I highly recommend it! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars If life was a great deal like this camera is
.... then we would all live happily ever after.Seriously speaking though, i just want to strongly recommend this camera to anyone out there looking for a begginer-first time "digital" Camera.IN fact, i would even recommend it to those with prior digital camera experience since the deal is just too good to pass by.I bought one and after buying one for myself, i have decided that iwill be buying some more as christmas gifts.I luv this camera! Way better then Koda* cameras. The look and feel are so modern its just a simple sexy camera!

4-0 out of 5 stars B+ camera; very good, almost great
Just wanted a decent pocket size camera with better features than the typical bottom end price points to take along on my frequent trips without adding more weight. This fits the bill.
5-0 out of 5 stars Won't find a better camera at this price
First off, I must say I have warm feelings about the Fuji brand. I owned a finepix 2600 and a 2650, and they were fabulous cameras; served me very well. I'm a bit rough on things (like cameras), so I never feel good about spending a ton of money on things that might break; These cameras are inexpensive gems. My first FinePix made it through the mountain bike trails [Translation: can take rough handling] of Colorado just fine. Unfortunately, the sandy beaches of Oregon [Stay away from sand] proved to be too much for the worm gear on my zoom lens. My second camera recently died after a fall from a great height. But before expiring, these 2 Megapixel beauties cranked out literally thousands of great shots. Now I've replaced them with the A400. My opinion? It's just like the 2600/2650, but with twice as many pixels! Quality pictures. Easy to use. Very similar interface, but with some pre-programmed modes (Like portrait, sports, night) that tweak the auto function so that these exceptional situations will turn out better. At this price point, no other digital camera can compete. Simple as that. The memory card from my 2650 works just fine in the A400. From the easy-to-use main menu, I can change image quality to fit more pictures on the card, or I can make the pictures easier to upload to the web by changing the pixel density (I still have dial-up!). It's easy to dump pictures I flubbed. The comment (see reviews) I read about having to turn the camera off to switch from image review mode to image capture mode is really just a user error--lightly touch the shutter button to exit the picture review mode. It's easy to transfer your pix to the computer; the software and hardware they ship with the unit can be deciphered in about 2 minutes. You won't get to work for National Geographic using this machine, but you will be able to fill up a couple of impressive scrapbooks. And one more thing: Using the camera in movie mode (Especially if you move it around) creates wonderfully nostalgic pictures akin to the 8mm home movies of the sixties. (No sound, for sure, but that's why I own a digital movie camera!). Have fun! (And don't over-buy!) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Digital Camera! Best on the market!
This is an awesome camera -- the best digital camera we have ever owned.
4-0 out of 5 stars It does what I want it to do and more!
First you must learn how to use this camera, but after you do, it is an absolute joy. You can take pictures in color, b&w, and in antique brown tone, enhance the color, sharpen, thin the fat, make artistic touches, stitch together landscapes to make murials.Landscapes are wonderful. Up-close photos are not washed out. As for using only one hand, I always use two hands, so that is unimportant to me anyway. You must adjust the view screen to see outdoors on a bright day, but then it is easy to see.HP offers classes on this camera for free, so there is no reason to not learn to use it.Do invest in a hard sided case for it, an extra battery and charger. Lastly, it fits in my purse, and I don't carry a huge purse.
1-0 out of 5 stars Disapointed
Great photos but buyers need to be aware that this camera requires at least 60 seconds to "process" in between photos.I don't see why anyone would want this camera. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A lot of bang for the buck
I have found the Z650 and the printer dock station very easy to use. While the paper/cartridges are a little pricey using the camera and docking station without having to tie up a computer makes printing photos a breeze. I also find that Kodaks' online service to be superb. You can have prints mailed to your house for just a few pennies per print. The camera itself has a very easy to learn operating system and the printer dock is basically just a one button operation. Emailing pictures to friends and family is very easy and the setup directions are easy to follow. The quality of the photos are excellent. I purchased this camera after seeing a friends and I have not been disappointed. The bottom line is that this system is very efficient, takes great pictures and is easy to use. Now if Kodak can bring down the price of the print paper and cartridges...it would get 5 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars great deal, great camera, great printer
This Kodak z650 is a great camera. It takes clear, sharp photos. It is head and shoulders above the Nikon I had been using. The zoom is fabulous. The menu and the extra features are easy to figure out.The happy bonus is that the printer in this bundle is extraordinary.I took it on vacation with me and made a travel journal with photos day by day.I am so happy with this purchase, even happier that I did my research and know it was at a bargain price to boot. Yippee!

5-0 out of 5 stars kodak z650/printer doc

5-0 out of 5 stars Another rave
The previous reviews are quite accurate regarding pros and cons.I've had my 320 for about two weeks and I'm very impressed.I'm a convert to digital photography from 35 mm (Canon Pellix) going back 40 years. My first digital was an HP Photosmart which I had for three years and was very pleased with. For the price, the 320 offers incredible value and a nice blend between automatic presets (primarily in the Scenes mode, but also in the basic Auto setup) and various manual options.Ergonomically it's superb; the designers deserve some kind of major award. If the quality control holds up over time, I'll continued to be puzzled as to why Canon and Sony digitals seem so popular, unless it's lemming psychology.I do think the printed manual is far too skimpy, and the computer version, while it's comprehensive, could be more user-friendly.Battery life is short but I got used to rechargable batteries with the HP and they are the answer.
5-0 out of 5 stars You need to get this camera right away!!
This was my first camera and looking for it wasn't easy.I had went to a store and looked at some cameras.Every camera I asked him about said would be a waist of time!He said that a good camera for anyone is this one.He was right every thing about it's great all the pictures turn out perfect great sound quality and more! The only thing about this camera is that it dosen't have good battery life but you just have to get a battery charger.

5-0 out of 5 stars Unbeatable features for the price.
I'm no expert in digital photography (I'm still most comfortable using my old Nikon F2), but after doing a bit of research on lower-end digital cameras, I decided to take a chance on this one.Because it was released only in the spring of this year, there are virtually no professional reviews and only a handful (albeit very positive, like the ones here) of user reviews. However, this camera is simply unbeatable on paper - I'm amazed that there are so many features crammed in.

4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect until....
I wanted something with a decent optical zoom that fit into the 'micro' category to take on a vacation. It fit the bill perfectly until it stopped working halfway through the trip.No explanation on what happend.I took it back for servicing at the store where I purchased it and have not had a response back. Therefore, I cannot comment on what the fault may have been.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little snapshot camera for the money
Don't know what the low raters were doing with their cameras or perhaps they just got bad ones.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing, if you know how to use it!!!
I got this camera a couple of weeks ago. I'm a teen, and my mom made me spend my own money for the camera and the rechargeable batteries. So I needed something affordable, but well worth my money!!!! After spending days and days of researching, with absolutely NO help from any siblings or parents, I decided to get this camera. I urge you to see the pictures other members of Amazon have uploaded, to see the great clarity you get with these pictures.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad for a cheap camera
This is my first digital camera. All in all I would have to say it doesn't take that bad of pictures for a point and click. It has a few effects that are fun to play with but I haven't had the opportunity to play with them all. The camera does have two down sides that I've noticed so far... it eats up batteries quickly and the closeup feature does not work well enough. For photos on the go it's fine.. stock up on batteries. For me it serves my purpose for the time being, but don't even try to get artsy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great entry level DSLR!
Not much to add to the other positive reviews posted, other than I am another user that loves my D50. Have had it for a year now and shot over 10,000 photos with excellent results (mostly landscape and wildlife).Excellent image quality and the hand grip fits perfectly to both my hand and my husbands.
5-0 out of 5 stars Unless you are a sport journalist, you can't go wrong with this camera.
The Nikon D50 is my fourth digital camera, and my first SLR camera. I don't know why I didn't try SLR earlier, but now I have decided that I will never go back to non-SLR cameras (well, I still have my other 3 point and shoot digital cameras which sometime is more convenient to carry.) I guess I'm just trying to show how much I like the SLR camera.
5-0 out of 5 stars Very good first Digital SLR Camera
I am very happy with this camera. It takes very good photos in automatic mode, but all the extra features make you want to learn how to take amazing photos. Also, I have big hands so the camera feels a lot nicer in my hands than the Canon Digital Rebel XT.The only improvements I would make to the camera are:

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera
I have had digital cameras for about 5 years and still own an Olympus 5 megapixel, and a Casio 7 megapixel. Seems like Megamixels alone just don't cut it for me.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera
Have had this camera for nearly a month now, and I have to say it is truly great for the following reasons:
5-0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased!!
I am a severe novice at photography and do not know much on the subject but I really wanted to take better pictures of my boyfreind who does freetstyle motocross.I was having a hard time getting the timing down and getting a good zoom with my old camera and with this camera I have been getting some amazing pictures. At first when reading the manual I became extremely overwhelmed and scared that I made a bad decision.I still do not know what the fancy functions are and how to use them. But I did find that it is very user friendly if you just go with the automatic shooting modes. I'm very excited about the wonderful picture quality I've been getting. Some of his sponsors are even using my shots for their advertisements! I highly recommend this camera!!! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Eh.
I gave it two stars because it was great... when it worked.
1-0 out of 5 stars A Piece Of Junk!!
Horrible camera. Barely had it 2 months before it went on the fritz.Drained the batteries within a few pictures. So not worth more then the cost of a disposable!! Sorry Kodak...but I'll stick with the good ol' reliable Sony.

2-0 out of 5 stars not so good
I have had this camera for about a year and a half.I got so fed up with it that I just bought a new one.I admit, this camera takes decent pictures in good lighting when the zoom isn't used. However, this camera takes horrible pictures if the zoom is used.I would only recomomend this camera to someone who just wants to take pictures of of thier surroundings or to a younger person who is getting their first digital camera. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Good Camera--Software Nightmares
I like this camera. Some settings take it beyond the standard point and shoot experience. For a first-timer, it has been great. The camera rates 4 stars.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good camera, not perfect
PROS: 1. Unbeatable Price, 2. Very good sharpness (not excellent), 3.Intuitive and easy-to use. 4.good performance un AUTO, better in other functions. 5.Good video quality, adequate in poor lighting. 6. adequate digital zoom (if you have a very steady hand). 7. performs well in low light (using manual). 8.Very flexible for the "family/vacation shooter".
4-0 out of 5 stars pretty good
Pros:Good value for the money.Good quality photos.Preset settings such as "museum" are handy.Good quality LCD.I like the Date Stamp feature, my Canon's was limited.
