Broke again
First one that I owned broke after 3 uses.The second one I got broke after 10 uses.Legs are very flimsy.

A very good tripod for the price
This tripod is quite sturdy and supports my fairly heavy Nikon D200 very well. The anglular adjustements are a little clunky, especially compared to a nice (expensive) Ball Type Head, but for the low price this unit sells for it can't be "dinged" for that.

Perfect for tabletop
I wasn't sure what to expect for this price,but it's a sturdy enough little tripod to hold my Sony DSC-H1 Cybershot with an additional filter and sunshade extension installed on the lense, all weighing maybe a little over 2 lbs. max. The tripod just screws on to the bottom of the camera, which is in the middle of my camera, so it isn't an issue as it might if the place to attach the tripod were off-center. I'd buy this unit again. I did purchase a lightweight travel tripod as well, but this is just right for tabletop uses.

Good for the price - but I'd still get a "big boy" tripod
It's nice to have a small tripod like this for travel and for taking some photos of yourself by yourself - but I would certainly throw down for the "big boy" tripod also (because sometimes you just can't find that brick wall to put your camera on!)Great value though - I can't say I can't live without it, but I do enjoy the fact that I do have it.

Quality!
The first thing that strikes you about this tripod, is the feel of it - it just shouts out 'quality', it inspires confidence, its rock solid but yet has ease of use, personaly i dont think its as heavy as some people make out, easy enough to hike for a while with it slung over your shoulder, one piece of advice.... if you are getting a quality tripod like this - then get a good head to suit!!!

This is an excelent tripod, which is both sturdy and versatile.I would recommend this highly for most purposes.It is somewhat heavy, so using it on long hikes etc. is probably not the best of its applications.

Tilting base needs compensation for heavy cameras - but good value!
I have a Nikon D50, and when attaching the camera, the tilting base of the tripod needs a little compensation for the camera weight. Hence, I haven't found any use for the libelle on the tripod. I have to look through the wiev finder to see if my set-up is level or not.
An excellent value, but the shipping cost was high
I have a very small camera (a Canon SD450) and find this tripod to be a perfect match.It is light and small and easy to carry with the included canvas case. It has a few nice features that I didn't expect (even though I read the text!) like the bubble level on the platform.

Solid
Solidly built, this tripod balances well even when used with the heavier Sony Cybershots like the DSC-R1. The remote shuttle release button helps to further reduce camera shake, which is priceless when taking photos in conditions where camera shake is amplified (high optical zoom, supressed flash, etc).
nice tripod, super price
I found this tripod on Sony's website, but was a bit put off by the price, both there, and at Circuit City.I was thrilled to find it for much less at Amazon!!!The tripod itself is super... we mostly shoot video of our baby at home, so we don't need anything too sophisticated.We love the controls on the arm of the tripod, and the bubble-level thing is a good feature to have.

I bought this tripod for video tapping an upcomming family wedding and have tried it a couple of times to get used to it.I like the the smooth operation of the controls on the handle.The panning operation is likewise acceptable.The telescopic locking legs work well, but are light weight and can rock a little during panning.The lightness is also a plus because it collapses into a small over the shoulder bag for easy toteing. Camera Tripod
I am delighted with my purchase (actually I used my Amazon Rewards to pay for it). It is easy to use & makes picture taking so much easier for someone who can't hold the camera still! It was a little awkward for me to set up until I got the hang of it, but now I have no problem.

Great value for a cheap tripod
This is a great value for the price.If you're unsure whether you even need a tripod, or you can't justify buying a "good" one for your occasional use, this is the one to get.It's great for indoor use with any compact camera, and the quick release is terrific for switching between posed tripod shots and candids at an event.It's definitely usable for light outdoor use as well, but it's not very stable in even a light wind, and it can be a nuisance to adjust on unlevel surfaces.

Love this wonderful Tripod, especially since I do not have my very own photographer. It has 3 or 4 adjustable heights, every angle imaginable, and adapts to both my cameras perfectly. It is LIGHT and easy to carry, and I thought it was very reasonably priced. Thank you, I highly recommend it!! :)

Nice head, but "Tilt Only"
This is a well made head constructed of solid metal with a nice finish.There are no plastic parts and even the rubber piece on the quick release plate is hard rubber.I have used it every week for about two years and have had no problems with it.I use it mainly attached to a monopod for sports photography and videography.The quick release has a clever locking mechanism to prevent accidental release.I bought an extra quick release plate so I can switch between two cameras.
Very nice for my needs
Very well made and looks like it will hold up for a very long time!I'm not a professional photographer, far from it, but I don't think you can go wrong with this if you have a DSLR without a huge telephoto lens to support.I have an Olympus E-500 system and it's great with this!

Small and Sturdy
I took a chance with this tripod, not knowing whether it would be able to support my DSLR. My previous tripod couldn't because the locking mechanism was too weak.

Nice lightweight Tripod

Good head for the price

Perfect for my HDR-FX1 Camera
This tripod is stable, fairly light and has remote controls on the handle that perfectly interact with my Sony HDR-FX1 HDV camera.Using the LANC connection I can zoom in and out at a variable speed / start and stop the camera without actually touching the camera.Well worth the money!

Great value for the money
I bought this tripod to use with my Sony HDR-HC1 high-def camcorder. For the price, this is the perfect tripod if you own a compatible camera. Pans and tilts were smooth and adjustable. The quick release mount was nice, although you have to remove the mount to change tapes. This is more of a flaw in the camera design than the tripod design. The zoom lever also gave me more control over my zoom. I looked at other tripods at my local camera shops and they wanted well over $400 for a similar tripod (without the remote controls!). The included carrying case was a nice bonus as well (I didn't even know it came with one). My only complaint is that you have to remove the control arm to store it in the case. I can recommend this tripod for pro-sumer use.

Truly impressed with Tripod considering its low price
The tripod is easy to adjust, just the right height, fits in my large suitcase and is very attractive. I wish it came with a carrying case or at least a built-in handle. I was leery of its low price and "D" shaped legs but it is well made and very sturdy. The legs are easy to set-up at different lengths, in case you are working on a non-level surface. I'm concerned that the handle is plastic and the pan-head is tight when trying to move up and down.

This is NOT a "heavy duty" tripod, nor is it for the serious creative amateur using a video camera.The instructions enclosed said the tripod could withstand a camera up to 4lbs. 3oz., but when I used a video camera just under 4lbs., the top assembly flopped over easily and had to be tightened VERY tightly with the handle grip, which then kept me from moving the camera vertically or at angles during during filming. In order to move the head up and down during a shoot, the handle must be unscrewed many turns, and the whole upper assembly (and camera) jiggles always while doing this, thus ruining any attempts at smooth transitional shots, which in turn ruins the video. I do not know how this would be with a small ultra lightweight camera, though.Also I did not like the way the small plastic piece attaches to the bottom of the camera--it has to be screwed in and secured by using a coin.If one wants to set up or take down the equipment quickly, one as to rummage around for a nickel somewhere, and then hang onto it for later.This plate piece could have easily been designed with a serrated knob (for traction) that could simply be turned by hand without any hassle, like I have seen on other better models.

Great item, great price
I have bought this item last year, and I wish I had had it before. Before this, I couldn't take cool night pictures, or I had to ask someone to take a picture of me and my wife. With this guy, which works and handles the job very well, taking photos is incredibly enjoyable, especially when you see stunning night pictures!

Nice, lightweight, inexpensive
The quick release levers for leg extensions are easy to use. The legs themselves slide smoothly. The only complaint is that the detachable plate doesn't lock in place, and the release lever is a little awkward to use. Other than that...a nice tripod at a great price!
