Nice head, but "Tilt Only"
This is a well made head constructed of solid metal with a nice finish.There are no plastic parts and even the rubber piece on the quick release plate is hard rubber.I have used it every week for about two years and have had no problems with it.I use it mainly attached to a monopod for sports photography and videography.The quick release has a clever locking mechanism to prevent accidental release.I bought an extra quick release plate so I can switch between two cameras.
Very nice for my needs
Very well made and looks like it will hold up for a very long time!I'm not a professional photographer, far from it, but I don't think you can go wrong with this if you have a DSLR without a huge telephoto lens to support.I have an Olympus E-500 system and it's great with this!

Great Bag For The Price
I purchased this for my Canon Rebel K2, and have been very pleased with the versatility of this camera bag.I have room for extra film, my lens cleaning kit, and even my digital camera (small and slim).I do wish that the front pocket was a little larger to fit my camera's manual a little better, but for the cost this bag is a very good buy.I will be upgrading to something more substantial in the future, but for now this bag is perfect for my needs.

This battery has good stamina.I use it with my DCR-HC42 camcorder and it lasts upto 2 hours of non-continuous shooting.By the term "non-continuous" shooting I mean the way we use it regularly.For example if you go on a sight seeing trip, you will turn the camcorder on and off regularly to capture good moments.For such use it lasts upto 2 hours which is quite good.You can carry just 2 of these batteries and it will last you for a days sight-seeing trip.

Couldn't find it anyplace
I have a VHS and CD machine and all my old tapes from my old camera are VHS, so I really need this adapter. Best Buy had a cheap copy that I bought and it didn't work at all...Bernies didn't have it or know where to purchase one. I then thought of Amazon and was delighted to find just what I wanted shippped directly to my house and it worked just the way the old one did....just remember to take the battery out if you don't plan on using it for a while....that's what happened to me and the battery caroded in the battery compartment.....

Does what it's supposed to.
This adapter is much better than the ones which don't take a battery.The difference is the other type manually pulls out the tape with a set of rollers when it's closed, and that can screw the tape up. The battery model I believe is also better at rewinding, the manual ones always drag down my VCR when I've tried it in the adapter.
It is not for 8mm tapes.
I am looking for 8mm tapes' VHS adaptor, but it does not fit into the VHS C Adaptor, it only accepts VHS C tapes, which now I know, and how a common user can figure out the difference from a computer monitor.The description for the type of tape it is made for has to be more specific.VHS C and 8mm tapes look similar by the picture shown.I can not find a 8mm tape VHS adaptor in the marketplace, it has to be reproduced from a camcorder or a VHS tape copy. ... Small and Sturdy
I took a chance with this tripod, not knowing whether it would be able to support my DSLR. My previous tripod couldn't because the locking mechanism was too weak.

Good enough for me
It doesn't have any problem when I use it with my Canon Powershot A520. It has a pan head, not a ball head. Sometimes one of the three feet is a little hard to be fixed. But in most cases, they work well.

Verbatim is the very best.
Howdy, I have always used these Verbatim DVDs with my Plextor drives and had very few fail me. If they did fail, it was usually a software or bad setting on my part. Yes, they may cost a little more, but you do truely get what you pay for.
Velocity Bait and switch
It doesn't matter what DVD+ writer I used, Velocity worked! Not one disk became a coaster.I loved the Velocity DVD-R until I order 2 more spindles.I ordered it directly for the manufacture.When I received it, the outside plastic covering was cracked, half the Disks had the jitters and the other half was coasters. It seems to me that they trick you into ordering one with a great offer including free shipping.If you order any more, the person shipping it to you send you the rejects from quality assurance. I will never again order this product again period!!

These work great! Why all the fuss?
I've been using these for over three years now.Purchased them from multiple stores (all in the US).They always work just fine.I use them in two different camcorders.I've also used tapes form JVC and Panasonic.These work just as well as all the rest.Something I noticed about all the reviews that complain about yellow packaging is that none of them have used the tape or experienced any type of problem. I'll keep getting these.I just wish they came in the longer version.

False Advertising--stay away.
I, too, was fooled into believing that I was ordering the blue package of Sony Premium miniDV 60PRL because that packaging was shown on the ordering page. I did not know that these tapes were the foreign version until I received them. I sent an e-mail to the vendor and never received a reply. I agree with another reviewer -- SHAME ON YOU, AMAZON. THIS COMPANY SHOULD NOT BE ONE OF YOUR STORES UNLESS YOU FIND THEIR FALSE ADVERTISING ACCEPTABLE. I will never again purchase from one of your store fronts, and I am suspicious of YOUR acceptance of this business practice, which reflects poorly on your own company.

Yep.I too, ordered the blue-packaged tapes to go with my new camcorder and received the foreign label that is NOT, and I repeat, is NOT listed in the manual to be appropriate ones to use.Amazon should eliminate this vendor, since they are NOT sending what Amazon is advertising.The yellow-packaged tapes are DVM60PR3.Approved tapes are DVM60PRL or DVM60EXL.I guess I just ate it for the cost of 6 tapes, and will now have to drive an hour to WalMart to be sure I get what I need for the camcorder.Amazon, shame on you.There are numerous comments regarding this same issue.Take care of it!!! ... I purchased this polarizing filter for my Sony HC96.The Sony store at the mall did not have it in stock and the Sony website was also out of stock.Either it's a popular item or Sony didn't produce a large volume of it.Anyway, it took Amazon at least a couple of weeks to ship it.I took the filter on my trip to Yosemite.It did just as advertised --- made the sky more blue and removed light reflections from glass windows and water surfaces.If you want to keep the reflections for visual effect, you just have to rotate the lens out of the effective meridian.The protective lens that came with the filter was handy, too.At first, I didn't know why I would need it because I justed wanted a polarizing filter.It turns out that it's good for protecting the camera lens from wind/dust and water spray from the waterfalls when the polarizing filter is off the camera.It seems pricy ($75), maybe because it's a Sony or because it's not a popular item.I'd say it's not useful for most occasions, esp. indoors.It's a luxury item for outdoor shots as a hobby. ... Problems with DVD player?
I rarely write reviews but I could not believe what I saw with the "24 DVD" players and it doesn't work.All I ever use are Verbatim DVD's and I burn on both a Mac and a Windows-based unit.The Windows DVD's play fine in my Mac and vice-versa.Also, I have two Sony DVD players, a PS2, and my roomies Zenith DVD player, none of which have a problem playing the discs.If you "truly" had problems with 24 DVD players, I am wondering if you just got a bad disc.I have been burning copies of my older DVD's, this weekend alone having done 7, with not a coaster.On my 2nd 50 pack in under a month, and only have had one problem (which was my fault anyhow).Verbatim's, in my opinion, are the best media available, in both DVD-R and DVD DL. ... Keeps your Handycam handy...
Forget about packing any accessories--there's no room to spare.Think of this one more as a "holster" to keep the camera at your fingertips without having to lug around a full-sized camera bag.I own both, but the big one stays at home or in the car most of the time.The integral wide belt loop allows me to mount it on my fanny pack's waist belt for hiking, and I especially like the gussets, which hold the camera securely while opening or closing the zippers.A shoulder strap is also provided if you prefer.Although not listed, the DCR-HC96 also fits, albeit snugly.

Good bag for what it is
This is a very nice bag.Lots of great places to put stuff.It even has mesh pockets on the insides of all the places that will fit MiniDV tapes perfectly.
Too big
Case provides lots of protection for dvd camcorder.However, it is sometimes too big to carry around.

Agree with the previous reviewer.
I only wish I had read the previous review before I bought this item.I too was trying to convert my Hi8 tapes to digital format using the pass-through on my Sony MiniDV handycam.I bought this way-too-expensive cable, mostly because it was the only option available.It seems ridiculous to me that a cable should cost as much as a low-end disk drive or graphics card, considering the technology involved in those devices.
S video cable works only 1-way
I bought it specifically to dub my Sony Hi8 tapes to PC in AVI foramt, through my Sony DV camcorder and docking station. Unfortunately, the S video cable is defective although the yellow video cable works. Strangely enough, Sony A/V -> S video still works. The reverse (i.e., S video -> Sony A/V) doesn't.
