5-0 out of 5 stars Bargain for the price!
I keep reading all type of reviews about this bundle. What often misleads buyers like me, is people comparing this lenses with the Canon L ones. That is not a fair comparison since L lenses similar to this ones will cost between 6 to 10 times more. Definitely, if you are a pro and you take pictures for National Geographic, ESPN, etc. dont buy this lenses because generally, those companies will pay for the L ones or pay you enough to buy those. If you are a starter or an amateur like me, then this are the lenses to buy. They have a great price, produce excellent pictures and you will start to understand about barrel distorsion, softness, etc. Very good lenses well constructed. Autofocus is a bit noisy on the 28/70 DG but nothing to worry about because it is pretty fast. On the 70/300 side, the macro capabilities are very good. My conclusion is, dont get mislead by people comparing these with Canon L lenses. If you have the money to spend around $1,500 on L lenses to get something similar, then go ahead and do it. If you want a good bundle with a good price that will do the job, then buy these. Remember than in digital photography there is nothing that could not be corrected by the right software like Photoshop. Keep in mind than even pros tweak there pics using that software. It is digital time! I used to take pictures using 35mm but now with DSLR-s, there is no going back.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for DX7440 with lens adapter
1. Zoom telephoto completely.
5-0 out of 5 stars Just what the Dr. ordered.
I just received this lens a few days ago and have only taken a half dozen pictures with it since but I'm very impressed with the increased clarity that this lens provides over relying on the digital enhancements of the DX7440.This lens provides me with up to 8x optical zoom on top of the 4x built in to the camera. For the DX7440 you do need the lens adapter and you will have 'tunnel vision' if you leave the camera zoomed out, but the whole point on this lens it to increase the zoom already on the camera. Why put a 2x lens on a camera and not use the 4x built in?The instructions state that you need to use the LCD display on your camera to frame your shot but that is true with any digital, the viewfinder isn't like an SLR camera that reflects from the viewfinder down through the lens.If you own a DX7440 this is an excellent addition to an already outstanding device.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works great!
I was very hesitant when I bought this lens for my dx7440 camera. I didn't think it would work. However when I tested it I was amazed! It definitely does what it is suppose to do, and doubled my zoom.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't afford the Bigma?Buy this!
Much has been written praising the Sigma 50-300 lens, often called the "Bigma."This lens is clearly its equal in everything but zoom range.I was very surprised when I purchased mine, used, and discovered that its sharpness was much better than I expected, and its autofocus speed every bit fast enough for challenging subjects like sports. The price I paid for this under-rated lens was about a third the price of a new Bigma, so I am extremely pleased with the bargain I got.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Tele Zoom for the money
After reading many mixed reviews on the web, I wasn't too sure about the picture quality when I received it. But it turns out to be an excellent big zoom for the money. I have no other 500mm lenses for comparison. But the pictures I took in dark night outdoor (tripod) and some indoor shots (hand held with flash) on Canon Rebel XT turned out to be really sharp, comparing toshots I took with Canon 50mm/f1.4, Sigma 10-20mm, or Canon 70-200L/f4 under very similar conditions. Color is balanced and contrast amd detail are superb! The weight is very reasonable. The collar is excellent. The AF works beautifully indoor in regular household light. Very fast and quiet, unlike anything I've read on the web ("noisy, slow, hunting"). In fact, my other two above mentioned Canon lenses seem to hunt more sometimes under the similar condition. This lens doesn't have zoom lock, so it does creep if not careful. But for about $500 less than the Bigma and tons less than similar Canon's, it's a very small price to pay indeed. The focus ring is kinda loose, but so is the Canon 50/f1.4. My Canon L and Sigma EX don't have this problem. You get what you paid for. The lens hood feels plastic, but reasonable. The collar is very solid and smooth. The carrying bag that comes with the lens is of reasonable quality but looks like it's not for serious outdoor abuse. As a amateur enthusiast, I am totally happy with it. 5 stars for the value/price ratio. I am waiting for my $80 Quantaray 2x Teleconverter to arrive to try it on this Sigma. Maybe this time I am really pushing my luck :) If you are on a budget and looking for a 500mm, This Sigma definitely worthes a closer look. Highly recommended. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good value in this updated design.
The new Di lenses from Tamron are designed to work well with digital cameras, although those with the Di will work for 35mm as well (Di-II only work with smaller, APS-C chip size digital cameras). This is an improvement on the fine 70-300 LD (Low Dispersion glass) design. The major improvements in this lens are in the coatings, to help reduce any color bias, and minimize reflections.Additionally, lens manufacturers are doing more inside the barrels to reduce reflections.

5-0 out of 5 stars A cheap lens that performs like a million bucks!
When most people think of this lens, the soft focus feature comes to mind. This lens is certainly unique in this respect. But the truth of the matter is that most people find this to be a feature that they will probably find little (if any) use for. So most people pass on this lens in favor of some sort of zoom (ie the EF 75-300mm). But even if you have no use whatsoever for the soft focus feature, this lens is actually one great, large-aperture, telephoto prime. Oh, and it can be had for a song. I have seen this lens go for less that $200 used here at the marketplace, as well as on ebay and craigslist. Even new, it is pretty cheap.

4-0 out of 5 stars The TCDC10 is a Lens Well Worth the Money
While, it hasn't changed my life, I have absolutely enjoy using this lens along with my Powershot S70.It's a great tool when it's used as intended. This lens is designed to extend your camera's optical zoom by 2X.This is very useful if you're shooting in Camera RAW.The S70 doesn't enable digital zoom when shooting in RAW.Please keep in mind that this lens is for distance and landscape shots. It's not an alternative to your regular optical zoom.Nor is it for indoor pictures. You should use your regular zoom in these instances.People have commented that using the flash with this lens will create a goofy blur on your photo. This is true. But, you shouldn't be using your flash anyway. When taking a picture of a mountain, the little flash bulb isn't going to help if there isn't enough natural light. So, turn the flash off and try not to wait until nightfall to start taking pictures. You'll find that this is a great lens for those of us who want a little more zoom and are just not ready to swallow the cost of a good DSLR.

2-0 out of 5 stars marginal utility for low-light close-ups
I bought this lens to take some close-up shots of stationary items under low to moderate light environments. It is utterly useless for that application. The lens blocks the flash and you get a dark photo with a near-black 40% swatch in the lower right of the frame. It may be useful for those who plan to use it outdoors or in bright light situations, but if you're looking to take close-ups indoors, save your money.

3-0 out of 5 stars So Big It Blocks the Flash
I have just received this lens and have only tried using in in low-light environments, but immediately noticed a fairly serious problem in that the lens is so large it actually blocks the light from the flash from reaching the subjects and causes large shadows to appear in the lower right-hand third of every photo.Otherwise, the quality of the photos was good, so I expect it will work quite well in situations where the flash is not needed. It would have been nice to know ahead of time about the effect on flash photos before I made the purchase. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fine Moderate Wide Angle Autofocusing Lens
This autofocusing 24mm f2.8 Nikkor lens is optically unchanged from the manual focusing 24mm f2.8 Nikkor lens that I once owned. This speaks rather well for this design, which was the first ever made with Nikon's CRC (floating element) feature. It certainly is one of the best 24mm lenses available, with fine contrast and resolution. Its performance is almost as good as the venerable Contax Carl Zeiss T* 25mm f2.8 Distagon which I own now; itself another excellent lens design which also dates from the late 1960s. If you tend to photograph a lot of landscapes or need to cover a moderate amount of interior space without excessive distortion, then this will be an excellent lens to add to your Nikon autofocus SLR system. Since this is a Nikon AI-S lens, it will also work too with any manual focusing Nikon camera dating as far back as the venerable Nikon F2A and Nikkormat FT3.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Lens for Digital as well as Film Cameras
The 24mm f/2.8 is an outstanding performer.Sharp, good contrast, fast autofocus.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the most popular Nikon lenses?

The Sigma APO Teleconverter 1.4x EX DG for Canon Digital SLR Cameras is a dedicated APO teleconverter that can be mounted between select lenses and the camera body to increase the focal length by the power of 1.4. The multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting, which is a common problem with digital cameras. The lens also offers maximum magnification without any variation in the minimum focusing distance. Compact and lightweight, this teleconverter can convert your lenses into longer focal-length lenses, so you don't have to do a lot of unnecessary footwork. A case for the lens is included. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent non Canon L lens
I have numerous Canon L lens, the 135L, the 200L, 24-70L, the 70-40L, additionally the canon 60 mm macro lens, the 50mm f/1.4, and the 85 f/1.8, lens; this lens and the Tamron 200-500 zoom are the only non Canon lens that I own. This lens stays on my camera more then any of the above lenses. The 2.8 aperture, the ability to do macro and 150 mm distance gives it such flexibility that it stays on my camera 1Ds the most and it is often on my 20d (the 1.6 multiplier makes it a little less flexible).

4-0 out of 5 stars Difficult to use
I am a beginner in using SLR.I used this lens to take several photos of my watch.this lens will hunt around for about 2 times if you set it to full focus range. The viewfinder looks reasonably bright.HSM is silent, seems to be silent than my Canon 50 F1.4 USM.However, this lens is SUPER difficult to use.It is a 150mm Macro lens. The depth of field is so short when focusing close and at F2.8.How short is that?just take a look with the watch photo i uploaded.(the 3 hands are just about total thickness of 1mm ...)So, if you want to have decent depth of field, you need to narrow it down to about F11 or even smaller. You will need a tripod in this case... And, Even slight movement of flowers caused by wind will make it out of focus... ( I actually use AI-servo when using this lens to take flowers~!)Don't spend money on this lens unless you are a pro in macro photography.Wait for the 70-200 Macro...

5-0 out of 5 stars Sharp.2.8 is nice but be warned...
This lens is very sharp.I usually buy Canon L but I made the expeption for this one after reading other reviews. This lens is on par with L sharpness and gives you some good working distance if you are shooting something that scares easy.Be warned though, if this is your first macro lens and/or first experience with macro photography, when you get close, your focus area is tiny and particualrly at f2.8!If you don't already have one you may want to get a tripod as well.I was able to get some handheld shots with a lot of light from a window so I could use higher f stops. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fast Focus, Very Sharp Lens
I've had this lens about two weeks, using it on a Canon 30D. It seems to be very sharp at all focal lengths and f-stops. Focus is very fast with Sigma's HSM (Hyper Sonic Focus Motor). It's for APS-C sensor digital cameras only, which enables it to be shorter, but once sensors are all full-frame you'll be sorry you got a DC series lens. The Sigma 70-200 f2.8 is full-frame, but more expensive and much longer.

3-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for.
This is the lens that came packaged with my Nikon N80.I've used it for over 1 year and deem it average. The autofocus is slow and noisy.Lens flare is an issue at almost every focal length. And the focus ring rotates which makes using a circular polarizer something of a pain. For [the price]it is passable. However, I recommend that you dig deeper in your pockets and buy something more robust and without the aforementioned niggling problems.
