Double your focal length
I realize now that I probably would have been fine with the non-PRO version of the teleconverter -- I'm not certain whether the differences between the PRO and standard actually justify the extra cost (unless you use Canon L lenses perhaps). But that is neither here nor there.

The lens is very good,however, no place in the ads did it mention that this lens was not intended for use with digital cameras. Fun with Glass
A truly fun piece of glass and I use it as both a toy and a tool. I love to shoot people and objects with it and see what the distortion does to the image, but it's also incredibly useful when you have no room to work or back up. I found it especially useful in the confined spaces of aircraft cockpits. But that fine thread to mount it on the camera drives me nuts! Especially when I'm in the confined space of something like an aircraft cockpit. But I always put it in my kit when on the road.

Slipped right on the CoolPix 995.Almost slipped onto the floor as well - the lens cover is nice, but held on by friction between a felt strip inside the cover and the side of the lens. It's second nature to pick it up by the lens cover.And the lens falls right out.Be warned!I caught mine just in time and spend 5 minutes cleaning off finger prints.This is a common complaint from people I know who own this lens.The rear lens cover is a pain - not fully threaded and a pain to get on.Enough of the 'bitchin. This summer while taking wide angle photos with this converter, I set my camera with fish-eye and small tripod on an unstable rock. As I set the timer, I watched in horror as my camera and converter fell off the rock and another 50 feet down a rocky slope. I thought all was lost, and my vacation ruined. To my amazement, the Nikon fish-eye converter and camera still worked! The glass was pretty scratched up, but I was still able to take photos with it. Because it's digital I was able to touch up the scratch marks on the photos when I got home. I've since bought a new Nikon Fish-Eye replacement, but I continue to be amazed at its durability. ... Good value in this updated design.
The new Di lenses from Tamron are designed to work well with digital cameras, although those with the Di will work for 35mm as well (Di-II only work with smaller, APS-C chip size digital cameras).This is an improvement on the fine 70-300 LD (Low Dispersion glass) design.The major improvements in this lens are in the coatings, to help reduce any color bias, and minimize reflections.Additionally, lens manufacturers are doing more inside the barrels to reduce reflections.

Useful 1.6X tele
Nice clear images. Some purple fringing when exposing bright, highlighted objects. Comes with 2 plastic caps (for lens and 52mm threads) and a vinyl bag. No front threads for filters. Magnification (1.6x) is moderate. Must use almost full tele to avoid vignettes (black outlines)--that's normal with all teles.

Capture all that you can see
If you are finding that your 3x zoom is going in the opposite direction of what you want then get this wide angle lens. effective on NIKON Cameras for large areas of photo effort
While is a small room during a dake-bonoist clicking session I am able to take photos of many people even when I've fairly close to them in proximity. Other Dake-Bonoist have expressed satisfaction with this lens as well.

beware
do a little research and don't be fooled. Sigmas are generally a hit or miss thing for the lens quality. And worse off if you travel with the camera..seals are not at all reliable. Last but not least go ito a store and compare the drive noise on this unit to any other brand...very very noise...sorry i can not recommend them. Nikon, Tamron, Tokina...I personally prefer Nikon and Tokina...good luck

Sigma 18 -125 f3.5-5.6 lens
I bought this lens to use with my Canon EOS300D.Buyers should beware of the noticeable vignetting - in my opinion this problem is not acceptable in a lens of this price. Sigma should have sorted this out before putting it on the market.On the plus side is the convenient zoom range and the compact size.I guess it depends on whether you consider these benefits outweigh the vignetting problems.Yes, it can be corrected with imaging software, but who wants to have to correct every picture that has an area of sky or other light subject matter in the corners?

Terrific all-purpose digital lens, but be realistic
I bought this lens so that when I travel using my Nikon D100 I could have an all-in-one zoom that would spare me the inconvenience of constantly changing lenses.I have not regretted this purchase, as for most situations the resulting photos are quite satisfactory.However, potential buyers should be aware that any lens that is designed to "do it all" involves compromises.

Great Quality High Price

I am a freelance photographer who loves his Canon photo equipment. I just recently got into Digital photography and of course, bought a Canon PowerShot Pro 90 and love it. I decided to add the Canon Wide Angle, Macro and Telephoto lenses made for the camera. Well the first two were a big hit, but the TC-DC58 was not quite up to speed as the others. The focus was Ok and photos, no matter what I did, were not as sharp but useable. It is very important to go to the Menu and change the setting to 2X Digital when using this lens or the pictures come out terrible.The camera's max 370mm telephoto can take much sharper pictures, so my recommendation is that if you really need to go out to about 520mm and average quality is OK, then this tele converter will do the job. ... Good for the money, pros back away.
I've used this lens a couple of years now. It's a good value but not up to professional standards.
Professional Quality Optics
I have owned and used this lens professionally for over a year now and after a minor focus issue that was resolved very quickly by Sigma's excellent service department I have to say this is the sharpest 24-70 lens I have used. I also have experience with the canon 24-70L lens which retails for just over a grand and the Sigma is sharper throughout the whole range(even at 2.8). The only negative thing I have to say about this lens is the noisy autofocus (Canon's USM is much quieter). But it is still reasonably fast to AF. This is definately the best lens for the money in this zoom range and is without a doubt the best optically. Canon's build quality and weather sealing are definately superior to the Sigma so if that is an issue, you may want to go with the Canon.

Initial thoughts on the Tamron 90mm
I've only had this for a handful of hours so far, but I already have some thoughts to share.
As Good As It Gets

Inexpensive, Though Excellent Alternative to 105mm f2.8 Micro Nikkor
Much to its credit Tamron has produced one of the best medium telephoto (90mm to 105mm) macro lenses for years of which this SP autofocus 90mm f2.8 DI 1:1 macro lens is no exception. It is optimized to perform best with Nikon's digital SLRs, but will also work well with its film SLRs too. I've read several excellent reports on the internet and photography magazines testifying to its superb contrast and resolution at virtually every aperture. However, I agree with a previous reviewer that the lens has too much of a plastic feel to it, and seems less rugged than the 105mm f2.8 Micro Nikkor. However, if you are on a budget and your photography doesn't include substantial usage in the field, then perhaps this lens could be a viable alternative to the more expensive Micro Nikkor. ...
