Does it come with a tutor? :-)
I have had my new Powershot A530 for about 7 days now and this seems to be a tiny little camera that packs quite a punch. I didn't realize that it had so many options when I made the purchase! This camera has MANY more bells and whistles than I need and although I am looking forward to learning them all I feel that it is a little overwhelming right out of the box. Don't get me wrong - right out of the box you can take a great picture even if you did not want to learn anything more about the camera and its other capabilities at all! It is very easy -- insert batteries, insert memory card, push the power button and you are ready to roll but MY GOSH the options on this little thing!
Great Camera
I got this camera on Friday. It's really great. It has great lighting and it takes good movies, too. The only bad thing is the flash. But it arrived here really quickly. This camera is great and I think you should buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

S2 or H1?
When selecting a camera, I was trying to decide between Canon S2 and Sony H1.Why did I select Canon?I just can't get used to Sony's user-inteface, whereas Canon's UI is just naturally intuitive.Since then I've used it on every trip I went on.True, you can't stuff this camera in your pocket, but that's the sacrifice for gorgeous pictures that it takes.I've had no problems with it whatsoever, and I've never regretted purchasing it.Everyone who sees the photos I take comments on how vivid and colourful they turn out - and I compliment Canon on making a camera that takes such good pictures.

Poor Optics or Poor Customer Service?
Love my camera, BUT....
I love my S2!!!
Have only been playing with this for a few days, and am not by any means a serious photographer, but wanted a digital that offered more features than my low-end cameras from other manufacturers. The Canon is heavier and bigger, reminding me in good ways of my most beloved older film cameras. It's really easy to get started. This camera writes to memory MUCH faster than my others, making it far more useful for taking candid shots and the like. It "feels" right in my hands, and the controls are conveniently located for me. Review and delete functions are easy and quick. I'm still on the original batteries. The zoom is great. I'm delighted! Great camera for 13 months...
I bought this camera just over a year ago and really enjoyed it.
great camera..bad photo software
I purchased the Panasonic LUMIX DMC LZ3 camera this summer for our family use. It's been a very good product and takes great pictures at an affordable price. The one knock I have found is the included software LUMIX Simple viewer is extremely lacking. Aside from printing photos or e-mailing them, you cannot easily find the files on your hard drive. The only way to move around the files is to export them back onto your photo card and then move them to a destination. I have since found another program to manage the files. Get the camera and the cannoli s, leave the software.

Great easy to use camera
I bought this camera for my daughter's 13th birthday. She is into salamanders and has 2 geckos. I have not seen a bad picture come out of this camera! I have several black pets that are usually impossible to photograph. They come out clear, with their eyes open! We have also not seen a single blurry photo due to the image stabilization.

Comment to "Noisy...no manual features" review
I don't think you can compare this camera to the canon S2/S3 or the Sony H5.This is a compact, pocket camera that is half their size and weight.You will not get a zoom that is as clear as something that has twice the space to work with.Compare this to similar cameras: Sony Cybershots or Canon SDxxx then you would be more than impressed.3x versus 10x....no competition.If you are looking for a camera with a great zoom that is compact and easy to carry with you everywhere, then look no further.Also, ignore digital zoom when you are researching.Digital zoom just makes everything more blurry.Optical zoom is key to great pictures.Hope this helps others in their decision. :-)

Good camera, Terrible software
When you're looking at a camera, you rarely read much detail about the software.The manufacturers only focus on the camera details.While this a great camera, the software and limitations of the proprietary Easy Share program make uploading your pictures a terrible experience.If you are happy with the Easy Share software, this camera will work fine for you.However, if you are like me and prefer to use advanced photo editing programs, you will despise this camera.Yes, it comes with a USB connection.But Kodak has limited you so that ONLY the Easy Share software recognizes the camera to transfer pictures.You cannot access the camera or pictures through My Computer, Windows Explorer, or any other photo software.You MUST use the Easy Share program to transfer pictures, and then they go into Kodak "albums" in the software.I did not believe this could possibly be true with a USB connection, but after spending 20 minutes on the phone with Kodak support, I was assured it was designed this way.The camera will not be recognized by Windows XP or anything other than the Kodak Easy Share software.Besides this being annoying, it is problematic if your software crashes and you have no other means to get your photos off your camera.
Great Camera at Great Price Point
Great Camera!The picture quality is excellent. Love the 10x optical zoom and many different scene modes available. The easy share software makes it easy to view, print and share the pictures. It is definitely not a pocket camera but feels like a professional camera in your hands. To me, that is a good thing. Buy the camera, a large storage card and start shooting!

Great Novice Camera
I've been using the z650 for about 4 months now.I'm no pro, but I think I would qualify above the average everyday camera user.I chose the z650 for various reasons including 10X zoom, 6MP, Kodak easy-share system, and because it is a good camera for beginers looking to take the next step up in overall photo quality.I never opened the manual and was using all the features almost instantly (I would say I'm moderately technology literate), but if you struggle with tech you will probably be reading through the quick start booklet.The 2.5 camera screen is good for getting an idea of what your shot looks like, but the real photo is much more brilliant and sharp than the what shows on the screen.Did I mention the ease of use factor.Get the UV filter for the camera, they're cheap and really help with outside shots! Also, plan on getting a large memory card and an additiona set of rechargable lith batteries.Overall, I would highly recommend this camera for the basic camera user looking to take the first step into photography.(Saw some gripes about the weight, but unless your counting grams in the backcountry this camera is really quite light and can be taken anywhere) ... Wonderful "bang for the buck" camera and printer!!
I purchased this camera printer combo for my daughter's 16th birthday. The price was unbeatable. The camera has a ton of features, and the pictures are beautiful, and crystal clear. The printer is tiny and portable, great for a teenager, and it hooks up easily to the TV to view/edit/print the photos. She was able to print pictures of her party for her friends to take home with them.
Real Camera for Real People
This camera is best among its class. The LCD displace is so brigh and high resolution. All buttons are very well organized so easy to use. Special flash recycle so fast and strong makes the shooting indoor and dark area an experience. The software menu is so easy to reach. I got SLR Pentax Digital Camera before, but can't tell the difference in picture quality.

Horrible quality
I bought this camera 4 months ago. The on/off switch no longer works and the camera is a piece a trash now.I contacted HP support.Unfortunitely, it only came with 90-day warrenty. So I was offered to pay $115 to exchange for a used one, imagine that!.That ends my desire of buying any product from HP.
A good camera for the casual photographer
I got this camera about 4 weeks ago. I've been using it as much as possible and I like it. It's easy to use, almost point and shoot. I have limited knowledge in photography, so this is good for me.
Ok, but could be a lot better.

5 Stars For A Wide Angle Lens!
If you are interested in portable digital point and shoot cameras, since Canon discontinued the Power Shot S-80, this one is one of THREE digital point and shoot cameras on the market that I know of that have a "true" WIDE ANGLE lens of 28mm---23mm in this case! (Or in this case a 23mm super wide angle lens!)(The other two are: The Canon Power Shot SD800 IS for $400 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 for $250)
Nice sleek camera
I had this camera for about a month. It works well. Shoots great video, I love making movies on the go with this thing! Can zoom in and out during filming. I'd say camera is better at filming than taking pictures. Pictures are good, however, forget about taking good quality pictures at evening on the downtown street. Daytime pics are good, could use an image stabilizer though. Blurry warning doesn't quite cut it. Camera design is awesome, the dual lens does not extend, I like that a lot! The only problem with that is if somebody else is taking a picture of you for instance they might accidentally put their fingers ON the lens. Happened to my camera, thankfully no damage. The docking station is cumbersome and unneccessary, invest in SD Card reader. 3X optical zoom is not enough. Wide angle lens is awesome. Overall - good camera for the money.

Awesome Camera
Basicly everything that "Jeffrey Picard 'Photo Guy'" mentioned is absolutly correct with the camera. Also according to toehrs the panoramic option isnt as great as you'd expect it to be, but i disagree. Of course you'll need some practice to get the knack of it but once you do the reward is some wonderful panoramic views! The camera door is weak and if you drop it the door opens and the impact might even make the memory card come out. so be careful with it, and dont just be a klutz. Another thing to mention is that despite popular belief you dont need to bring the Kodak Stand on your travels in order to charge your camera. NO! All you have to do is bring the AC Adapter cable with you [which is included, the same one you use to plug in the stand] because there is a hole in which you can plug the adapter into your camera and charge it.

looks good but the keys stopped functioning
I like this camera as it looks good and pictures are not that bad except for red eyes and night pictures. However, after 6 months of use of this camera, the keys stopped functioning like back/next keys. I can still take pictures and download but can not preview as I cant use any screen buttons. A great simple camera
I just needed something small, simple, and inexpensive. After comparing prices, I decided on this camera. I am enjoying very much, it takes great pictures and is really easy to use. The only problem I have with it is that the buttons (especially the 4 way control and OK) are a bit sensitive, so use a little care untill you get used to the way the camera works.

Cool little camera
I personally enjoy this camera. I dont see anything wrong with it. Well, except that the video doesnt have any audio. Other than that, I really like this camera. It has taken great photos and I can take it anywhere.

I have had the camera for about 6 months and do not regret it a bit. That does not mean it is a perfect camera. First of all here are the list of requirements I had when I was shopping for it.#1) smallsize #2) AA batteries #3) SD Card memory #4) 4MP or better#5) $100-130 range #6) good battery life #7) no optical zoom #8) convenient and easy to use.This camera hit on all cylinders and still does.I know someone is going to say why no optical zoom???Great question.Start up time and shutter lag is much more pronounced with optical zoom. Also, the more reviews I read on cameras that were already above my price range the common phrase went something like "I XXXXXX and the lens won't work anymore XXXXX camera is dead" It seemed to be the fragile and weak point of the less expensive cameras. Optical zooms also increased my price range and battery drain.When backpacking I do not want to pack more batteries. Would I have loved to have one of the credit card sized Exilim's with zoom and all?Sure, they were too much money and besides this camera was going backpacking and all sorts of stuff it was likely to get beat up.I wanted something solid and so far it is.The things I discovered I like about this camera that I did not know before hand are #1) the software is the easiest and best I have ever encountered.I did have some difficulty installing it.One call to cust service and he walked me through the steps of how to shut down the conflicting application and install it and I have never had an issue yet.I thought the simplicity and small size would be nice. I underestimated how nice it is.Because I can carry it anywhere and use it quickly and easily I take far more pictures.My kids take far more pictures and they take great pictures.My wife who could not use anything but a disposable point and shoot can use it.If you have not figured it out, we like this camera.Now a couple of things to balance out my review.I bought the c310 Easyshare for my son.In comparing photos I noticed a couple of things.Some of my photos would be very contrasty and his would be more balanced and even.I have read these cameras electronically boost color saturation and I think they went too far with it on my camera.But still good pictures in most cases.In low light I could not get it to take good pictures.The flash reaches about 7-10 feet and then it was all black.I found out if there was some light and I turned the flash off I would be able to get a picture and in some cases a good one.I could not figure this out until I read that the ISO range is 100-400 with auto adjustment except in flash mode.Then it locked at 140.Problem solved.Turn the camera on, push the flash control button 3 times to turn it off and it may take an OK picture. With the flash turned off atleast you have a chance. It still is not a good low light camera but most in this price range are not going to be.That is a feature that costs more.All in all, this camera is a keeper? YEP.It will never be my only camera and it is not perfect, but for a small affordable camera that can go anywhere and be ready to use at a moment's notice it gets the job done.It is not and never will be perfect nor will it be a professional photographers dream but it is mine and I like it. ... nervous at first, now, very excited about it
I did a lot of research before buying my first digital camera.I wanted a quality camera, and I went back and forth between the $300+ and the under $150 camera's.I chose this one because I figured at $140, 5MP, and 3x optical zoom, I would use it for a year and then get a new one and not feel gipped.Well, the camera is so great!I knew nothing about digital camera's, the instructions use language that I'm not familiar with, but the camera is very user friendly.It takes some tinkering with, but it's easy to figure everything out.Pictures come out crystal clear.The different picture scene modes make for some creative pictures.I travel a lot, I love to go out to the clubs and bars, party in the moonlight and dance till the sun rises, I love to do outdoor and indoor sports... this camera is light, small, I can keep it in my pocket, and it takes great pictures.I have a mac computer, so the cd didn't load.. but all you have to do is connect the camera and the computer and an icon pops up.Do a little copy and paste, easy.The battery life is good.I like the fact that it used AA batteries, because when travelling overseas, it's easy to buy batteries, and more difficult to make sure you find an outlet to charge your camera.After about 4 days of using it continuously, the battery still was a little over 1/2 full.I was a little concerned about the optical zoom, thought maybe I should invest in a camera that had more... well, after taking a picture of a house, I was able to zoom in and read the words on a post-it note on the front door- 3x is plenty!I Highly recommend this camera.

Totally terrific camera!!!!
This is supposedly an entry level digital camera, but I have already found more cool bells and whistles than I will ever use. Since most of my photography is of performance horses, I was very interested in how the camera would handle the in motion pictures. The "sports" mode stops them in their tracks with totally terrific resolution. It is very easy to operate with on screen menus that really are effortless to use.

A Sleeper Among Digicams!
I must agree with the first reviewer, Steve Smart.This is really a sleeper of a cam about which few know or to which fewer still pay any serious attention.No, it's not a branded big name, but Samsung is gradually making their name heard in the digicam world with their most recent offerings, stylistic, and very functional designs.

Great compact camera!
Love this camera. I've owned The SD300, and SD400 and finally this one. Really like using it. The burst is awesome and takes pics rally fast during daytime. Nightime shooting is a little slower, but expected from a digital camera this size.

Fast repair
I asked for this camera for my birthday based on the favorable Amazon reviews.I received it in April and have been very happy with the photos it has taken.Unfortunately in August it stopped working.However, I sent it in with my receipt and they fixed it with no questions and I had it back in my hands in about two weeks or less.I think this is a great little camera for daily point-and-shoot and I would buy from Canon again based on their excellent customer service.

Great features - fragile screen!!!!
Our unit at work purchased several of these cameras for documenting field work.Even though we have all taken great care with them, we have 2 broken LCD screens which means the camera is pretty much junk.

For the price it's a really nice camera
I was looking for a reasonably priced digital camera, and came across the Samsung Digimax A503. The price was right, in fact better than what I thought for a 5 megapixel camera, and all the previous reviews pointed to a really good product.
A 13 Year Old's Review
I love this camera! I'd been saving up for a digital camera for awhile and finally found one at a good price. There are 3 colors to choose from, red, black, and silver. (I got black because Walmart didn't carry silver for some reason.) The 5 MP makes for great quality photos. For once I have something better than my electronic-crazy dad! There are cool colors and frames that I use a lot, and even a feature that makes it possible to put up to four pics in one photo. I have this camera everywhere I go and can't wait to take it to Florida this week! For a great quality camera at a great price this is a user-friendly camera for all ages!

Nice little camera for teens
I bought this camera for my twin girls. They love it pictures are crisp. We take them in 5mp resolution and S fine. mode with a 1gb Sandisk Sd card. I was a little leary of this purchase. after reading mixed reviews from several different websites. However, I am pleasantly surprised at the details. It also has nice clip art to add to the photos. It has a mode composite. you cant take up to 4 different poses and print it out on one piece of photo paper. Perfect for the photgenic teenager. Just purchased today need to explore the movie mode sound? I am so far satisfied. You will not be disappointed in this low end camera. If you really need it for the video function. I bought this camera based on the high approval rating on this site and on ConsumerReport's advice that it had excellent video quality.
Comment to "Noisy...no manual features" review
I don't think you can compare this camera to the canon S2/S3 or the Sony H5.This is a compact, pocket camera that is half their size and weight.You will not get a zoom that is as clear as something that has twice the space to work with.Compare this to similar cameras: Sony Cybershots or Canon SDxxx then you would be more than impressed.3x versus 10x....no competition.If you are looking for a camera with a great zoom that is compact and easy to carry with you everywhere, then look no further.Also, ignore digital zoom when you are researching.Digital zoom just makes everything more blurry.Optical zoom is key to great pictures.Hope this helps others in their decision. :-)

Panasonic lumix rocks
I owned two Panasomic Lumix cameras: FZ1 and TZ1. Besides them, I also have extensive experiences using Canon , Nikon models that were highly rated. The major usage of my camera are for shooting macro images, and nothing beats Lumix in that. The images yielded by Lumic are so precise, cripsy, natural. I really wanted to like this camera!!

I liked the camera, except for.......
I bought this camera a little over a month ago from Target for $179.99. I really liked the design of it and the fact that it was small. I thought it took great pictures and the screen size was just right for me. It was a fairly easy camera to use, but the only downside to it was that every time I took a picture, the screen would go blank/black for about 5 seconds. This got really annoying after a while, because no other camera did this. I decided to return it and get my money back. I later bought a Samsung Digimax S500 5.1mp camera from Walmart and have been happy with my decision ever since.

Nikon L3 - great outside, lousy inside
Wow Nikon missed the mark with this one.The menu is just crazy - feels like a marketing guy on steroids put every conceivable ridiculous feature imaginable into this camera.The flash is worthless.

I love my new digital Kodak EasyShare C530 5MP camera
I ordered this camera as a gift for myself for my birthday.I took several pictures of friends when we went out to dinner.One of my friends was very impressed with the photos that I sent to him.He was amazed at the quality of the picture and the fact that it was taken with such a small camera.The ease of using the camera, the amazing prints and the overall quality of the product is very satisfying to me.My daughter has a camera that she paid a lot more for and, in my opinion, this camera takes as good a picture if not better.I love the fact that I can take pictures, print them out without going to a store and waiting several days to get them back, and I can download them very easily into my computer (the program is very user friendly) and I can email them with a simple click of a button to family and friends.I, for one, am very pleased and happy with my purchase.I would recommend this product highly to any and all family, friends, and anyone who asks.

The Kodak Easyshare C530 5MP DC & Dock are perfect!
I bought this as a gift for my sister who is currently visiting me for the summer back in June, so we've had almost a month to test it out. She had seen the camera priced ranging from $119USD-$139USD, and the dock at $127USD, so getting this combo package for less than $180 was a fantastic!

Great for the Price
Overall I am very happy with this camera. I got it last month and have already taken 400+ pictures. Here's what I see as its pros and cons:
Fuji FinePix A500 - Great Camera For the Price
I bought this camera for my teen age daughter for general use as it was time for a new camera.I wasn't expecting much for $130, however; this camera has far exceeded expectations.Pictures are clear with great color.Battery life is better than average, the camera is easy to use and we haven't experienced any problems with indoor shots.The camera is very compact.Its amazing how something so small can have a generous display and take such high quality photos.I agree with the previous review, you need an extra XD Picture Card (I ordered the 512 mb) and rechargeable batteries.Overall - we are very happy with this camera.

Excellent camera for the money.
I got mine today and have been testing it out.It is small, barely bigger than a credit card (though thicker) and reasonably light.
