1-0 out of 5 stars poor video, stills too small
I have promised myself to stop buying Sony. This camera has broken the camel's back so to speak. The pictures are grainy. The stills are useless. There was no reason to make and sell this product except to fool some people (me) into buying outdated technology with a good brand name. They ripped me off with their DVD player before and now with this.It is the last time I let them do this to me though. Goodbye Sony.

3-0 out of 5 stars DANGER! PICTURE PACKAGE!
The camera works great but ...Neither Sony nor Pixela, the makers of the Picture Package software that comes with some Sony camcorders with mini-disks tells you that the software IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS XP, SERVICE PACK 2! It will crash your computer or not work properly. DO NOT install the Picture Package software if you have run Windows XP. If you have a DVD player on your computer, you can download the photos from the mini-disk without this dangerous software. Shame on Sony and Pixela for selling the software to Windows XP users or including it with the camera without a warning.

5-0 out of 5 stars really good

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT !
This is a great little camera.
5-0 out of 5 stars OK, so maybe it's only 4.8 stars :)
Having had a previous Kodak digital camera, this one wasn't too hard to "get to know".One thing I noticed, after playing with it for 2 days, is that it doesn't have a viewfinder. So obviously you can guess that I'm used to using the lcd display to "set up" my shots. But it seems odd not to have a viewfinder.I'll just have to get over it.I am so excited about it being an 8.0mp, and one of kodak's newest releases.I enjoy picture taking immensely, and this camera even allows you crop photos right within the camera. You can even edit video clips.Wow.And the camera also takes panoramic shots, which will require some practice but I'm excited about that feature as well. What practice shots I have taken in this mode, however, do not use flash. So I guess this is a feature left to the great outdoors, probably where most panoramic shots are taken anyway.Already having a charging dock, I failed to research to see that I would need an adapter in order to use it for the new camera.I can appreciate that that makes perfect sense, but had I done the research I probably would just have bought a plug-in charger for about the same price and then had the charger dock available to sell when I sell my other camera.I was also considering the P712, but this C875 is the one for me.The camera has a pretty good feel to it, and the wrist strap is very handy. There are just so many new models out there - I wonder if they all come from the same factory!!I tried an olympus 7.1mp all weather camera before purchasing the Kodak, and I just didn't like it.I look forward to several years of usage from this camera. Thanks, Kodak. You've earned my trust and my repeat business. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I finally found my Digital SLR
I've been looking at Digital SLRs ever since Canon came out with its 10D. Since then, there have been so many by so many companies. I've always been a Canon user. I have had 2 EOS bodies-the Elan IIE and the 7E. And also the Canon IX, its APS camera which I still have (its small viewfinder was a major disappointment).
5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Love This Camera
First of all I do not consider myself anything more than a very beginning photographer !!! So I will not go into anything technical.I will leave that to people who know more than I do. But what I am is an international traveler.I simply got tired of coming home from fantastic trips with "snapshots".I wanted someting much better, and boy did I get it with this camera.I looked at the D70s and since I have very small hands, I could never feel comfortable holding it.This camera is smaller without being small.I have only taken photos locally, but at this time of the year with the leaves changing it makes a good start. The built in editing features (filters etc.) are wonderful to work with.I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants something more than "point and shoot" snap shots.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nikon Just became the top dog!
Hey there friends SiNMiN here with just a short word about this fantastic camera. I have been shooting cameras one way or another now for a living for nearly 15 years. I remember the days when we all dreamed of digital cameras and once we had them we dreamed of days like these! First let me say that I come from the uniqe perspective of having shot and worked on nearly every barnd and type of camera available at one time or another! So I have no Brand loyalty to speak of! I'm loyal to my pictures not cameras. At the time of writing this my D80 is on the way to me, I am making these remarks based on some tests I ran using a D80 and my D200.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Image quality for price
I have taught photography at the college level, shoot 4x5 view camera work on occasion, and am very demanding about image quality. I am quite satisfied with the image quality from my Kodak P880, particularly after I installed the newest firmware upgrade available from Kodak.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great camera for the price!
Bought by P880 about a month ago. I am a sem-pro outdoor adventure photographer and I use Nikon 35mm film equipment for the most part. I shoot slide film on my F90s Nikon. I had a 5mp Kodak digital camera but wanted to upgrade to a better digital camera but I could not justify buying a Nikon D50 or D70s as they are only 6mp. And I didn't want to drop 2 grand on a D200. So I looked in the mid-range camera lines. After doing MUCH research, I decided to buy this camera. So far I am happy I did. I have taken it hiking several times, enough that I know its a good camera but of course its a toy compared to pro Nikon film cameras. But I knew that when I bought it. I wanted to have a good camera to take lots of "documentary", "fun" and "travel" shots. For the really powerful stuff I will still shoot slide film. But its too expensive to shoot with extensively!
5-0 out of 5 stars Best 8 meg camera out there
This was the third 8 meg SD camera I tried - it was the only one that without using a tripod indoors gave me sharp, crisp pictures most of the time. The zoom was smaller that the Fuji or the Panasonic, but the color saturation and sharpness were heads and shoulders above the others.Excellent camera that shoots jpg, tiff and raw. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars better than ever
I've had the S5 about two weeks now and payed about $150 less than the S1 I bought a year and a half ago...that one went swimming with me by accident. So far, I've notice a few substantial improvemements.1)faster time from button pushing to picture. So much so that I've been waiting for it to take the picture long after it already has and I'd missed it.2) Considerable improvement in the movie mode (15fps before to 30fps now) and the playback no longer requires a microscope.3) the definition has improved even more so than the 5.1mp to 6.0 megapixel bump would suggest.Lastly, the controls are far better positioned and thought out for ease of use.
4-0 out of 5 stars S5 Rates High
I just bought a Nikon S5 and it hasn't been out of my pocket since it arrived in the mail. This is my 3rd Nikon but first digital camera. I am struggling with the limitations of digital over film but I think this camera is great. It produces beautiful images and I find it easy to manipulate. The camera is small and the photographer has to be careful not to get fingers in the photo as it has limited space to keep hold of it while taking the picture. A person with big hands might not be comfortable with this camera. The LCD is huge which is fantastic, but the biggest drawback is that the LCD is difficult to see in bright sunlight. All of the features are easily accessible, and the menu is reasonably intuitive. Like most digital cameras there is a maddening delay between pressing the button to take the picture and the camera actually capturing the subject. After the 2-3 flashes for red eye reduction, many of the people in my photos have moved onto a different expression or react to the intensity of the flash. The body design and the metal case make it tough, I have smacked it around kayaking and rock climbing and it is holding up under the abuse. I gave it 4 stars because it's not perfect but it's a nice little camera.

4-0 out of 5 stars GENIAL

4-0 out of 5 stars The more I use the camera, the better I like it!
This is a handy little camera.I bought it because I wanted a small camera to carry with me.It takes a while to become used to the manual features, but once you do, you can take some nifty close ups.The movies feature is incredible with accurate voice quality and picture.Overall the accuracy of color is excellent too. This camera has met all the expectations I had and more.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice camera but some others are better
This camera is nice, but a bit pricey considering that the pictures are more the size of a 6 mp camera than 8.1. About half the pictures in less than perfect lighting are not useable. Low light pictures are terrible. Flash is a bit more powerful than other cameras this size. Be careful about turning on the camera with the lens blocked. Making this mistake even once will end the life of the camera. Movie mode is outstanding... best I have seen in a camera this size. Not as fast between shots as it is turning on. Digital zoom is mostly a joke, but it can actually be used with some success and perfect lighting on this camera. Various Best Shot choices are awesome. This is my ninth digital camera, running all the way back to 1992. For versatility and great movies, this camera is a top choice. Also uses cheap SD cards, a real plus. Battery life is very good. I have used the camera extensively for a month.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for the Price
Overall I am very happy with this camera. I got it last month and have already taken 400+ pictures. Here's what I see as its pros and cons:
5-0 out of 5 stars Fuji FinePix A500 - Great Camera For the Price
I bought this camera for my teen age daughter for general use as it was time for a new camera.I wasn't expecting much for $130, however; this camera has far exceeded expectations.Pictures are clear with great color.Battery life is better than average, the camera is easy to use and we haven't experienced any problems with indoor shots. The camera is very compact. Its amazing how something so small can have a generous display and take such high quality photos.I agree with the previous review, you need an extra XD Picture Card (I ordered the 512 mb) and rechargeable batteries.Overall - we are very happy with this camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent camera for the money.
I got mine today and have been testing it out.It is small, barely bigger than a credit card (though thicker) and reasonably light.

2-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre-- Not Suited for a Serious Photographer.
If you are looking to own an inexpensive polaroid camera for nostalgic purposes or to have fun with, then I would highly recommend this camera.
5-0 out of 5 stars A pretty sweet camera
Yeah, Sweet camera. It was basically ready out of the box once I added the film. Everyobody thinks it's really cool. It's great to have the instant photos, so real and so tangible. Each picture is one of a kind.
3-0 out of 5 stars Polaroid One600
The camera does what it is supposed to do--take photos. It is best when used close up and in bright(er) light. When using flash, the subject should be in "pretty good" light to begin with. This camera isn't for landscapes nor close-ups (such as flower blossoms). ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Love the camera, if it worked.
I've had to have 2 repairs for the "lens error". Without improper use, the lens will fail to open and then the camera is useless. I sent it in twice for this problem and they sent me a brand new camera since they lost my original one while fixing it, and low and behold the camera they sent will not work either! AND they sent a silver one, when i owned the orange one. Their customer service isn't exactly on the ball.
1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Customer Service
I had returned this camera twice already and it is still not working great. The pictures get blury at times (focus issues). When I sent it back under warranty they "fixed" it and sent back to me without my usermanual or the little handle string!I asked for it back and never got it back. When I realized the focus issues weren't solved I sent back and I got it in the same condition!!Bad customer service...I will send it back the third time!

5-0 out of 5 stars For its size, a great value
First Law of Photography: You can't take a photo if you don't have a camera.I never go anywhere without this shirt pocket marvel, and consequently have captured lots of pictures that otherwise would go unrecorded. This is no mobile phone quality camera - with 6 mp and 3x optical zoom and lots of other features, this thing is a great deal. And.. you can KEEP some family pics or other favorites (OK-GO on Treadmills) to share with others.

5-0 out of 5 stars Handycan is E-A-S-Y
My husband has been after me for quite some time to purchase the sony DVD Handycam. Neither one of us likes to fool around with transferring of tapes. We both love just finalizing the disc, then popping it into the DVD recorder. It is sooooooooo user friendly, and the touch screen is amazing. So far the greatest feature is the night lighting/ dim lighting feature. That has been great for our sons' later football games. It makes it look like you are shooting in the day light. GREAT PURCHASE. As always Sony lives up to it reputation. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome! No 5.1 support though
Just like Francisco wrote above. Excellent low-light (without nightshot infrared), with a color-enhancement low-light feature.
1-0 out of 5 stars Handycam incompatible with Windows XP Service Pack 2
Yes, this is a great Camera,as many of these in depth reviews show, however the bundled software is incompatible with Windows XP service pack 2, which makes editing impossible as the operating sytem will not recognize the hardware because sony's drivers haven't passed Logos tests. After spending hours on the phone troubleshooting it turns out that Sony's drivers are not service pack 2 approved and they've done nothing to release updated compatible downloads on their website which would solve the problem. So I lodged a complaint and am considering getting rid of the handycam as it is not very handy when you can't edit anything. Basically it's a great camera but the software is plagued with compatibility issues and is not user friendly. I am really upset that I spent this much on a camcorder that claims to be compatible with my system and it turns out that it is not, and it would seem that it would not be very hard for Sony to release an updated driver that would fix this problem. Shame on you Sony.

3-0 out of 5 stars the Handycam Station is not very handy
This is a nice camcorder but the Handycam Station makes it less appealing. I have to remember to take the docking station everywhere I travel. What makes it worse is that the Handycam Station is very loosely snapped onto the camcorder. It can easily fall off and disconnect when you try to transfer video/picture through it. The camcorder itself does not have USB or IEEE1394 built-in. All these vital ports are in the Handycam Station. If it were not for this awkward docking station, I would have bought this camcorder. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Printer
I love the feature for printing CD/DVD's labels....it's not necessary to buy special discs...just put a blank label on your disc and it will printer it perfectly. Colors are beautiful and less costly since you only need to replace the colors as you use them. plus they last really long. Great little machine...............

3-0 out of 5 stars OK Photo printer but be warned of ink cartridge costs.
This inexpensive printer does a nice job of printing photos and on CDs. My complaint with Epson printers is with their "intelligent" chip embedded ink cartridges that monitor ink usage based on page yeilds rather than true ink volume. In short, this means the cartridge will show the same usage of ink whether you are printing pages and photos in draft mode or in high quality mode. The printer software stops the printer from printing if one of the six color cartridges is percieved as "close to empty". Epson engineered it this way to ensure that the ink doesn't run out and causes a clogged printerhead. The problem is that I'm constantly replacing ink cartridges that still have about 25 percent ink remaining. I know because I have opened the spent cartridges and have measured the remaining ink. Also, you cannot refill the cartridges with after-market ink because the chip in each catridge renders it "empty" even if you refill it. This ink cartridge design has caused a class action suit to be brought against Epson. Do a Google search and you'll find the website. In fairness to Epson I must state this printer does a nice job printing photos and onto CDs which is a nice feature. If ink costs aren't a problem (about $60 for a complete 6 color set) than get this printer. In the meantime, I'm steering clear of future Epson printers until they re-engineer the ink cartridges to reflect the true ink volume usage.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ideal for basic use
It seems from reading some of the other reviews that this product doesn't stand up to being pushed to the limit. But for your basic home use I've found it reliable, simple to use and a good all-rounder. Having more catridges to replace seems a bit daunting at first but you soon realise this saves you money. The cost of new catridges is a major factor when deciding to buy a printer and Epson's are pretty reasonably priced.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lexar Secure Digital Card is tops
The Lexar Secure Digital card (1 GB Platinum) seems every bit as reliable as their justly famous Compact Flash cards. I was initially leery of trying Secure Digital, but the card is no fuss, no muss, and considerably smaller than Compact Flash. Have used it with the equally surprising Casio Exilim EX-S500, and am impressed with both.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
There isn't too much to write about this except is delivers as stated.Great product for the price!

1-0 out of 5 stars SLO-O-O-O-W
Bought one for my Treo 650.Read speed seems OK, but the write speed is horrible! When using voice recording software, the card was too slow to properly write the .wav files, and everything I recorded was garbled and useless. When doing my daily data backup, the process took at least 10x as long as with my SanDisk card.Even the garbage no-name card that I got free with my Treo is dramatically faster.

5-0 out of 5 stars Indoor video quality sets this camera apart
I bought this camera based on the high approval rating on this site and on ConsumerReport's advice that it had excellent video quality.
5-0 out of 5 stars Comment to "Noisy...no manual features" review
I don't think you can compare this camera to the canon S2/S3 or the Sony H5.This is a compact, pocket camera that is half their size and weight. You will not get a zoom that is as clear as something that has twice the space to work with.Compare this to similar cameras: Sony Cybershots or Canon SDxxx then you would be more than impressed.3x versus 10x....no competition. If you are looking for a camera with a great zoom that is compact and easy to carry with you everywhere, then look no further. Also, ignore digital zoom when you are researching.Digital zoom just makes everything more blurry.Optical zoom is key to great pictures.Hope this helps others in their decision. :-)

5-0 out of 5 stars Panasonic lumix rocks
I owned two Panasomic Lumix cameras: FZ1 and TZ1. Besides them, I also have extensive experiences using Canon , Nikon models that were highly rated. The major usage of my camera are for shooting macro images, and nothing beats Lumix in that. The images yielded by Lumic are so precise, cripsy, natural. Once you own a Panasonic Lumix, it is difficult to go with other models. The combination of the LEICA lens, the high resolution LCD, and the magical autonomic shooting mode makes Lumix unbeatable! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Seems to work just fine
I have nothing to compare them to, but I bought 3 of these and they seem to do the job they are intended to do.I was surprised to see no savings on shipping when I ordered 3 vs ordering 1 at a time, although I am now clear on the policy. They still were a bargain, as far as I have compared.I would buy again, from the same vendor. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars I wanted so much to like this camera...
A Carl Zeiss 24-120 zoom--the stuff of dreams. My dreams, anyway. So I went for it.I have to say, this camera is a horse--it is enormous--but the weight was not troublesome in the least (in fact it aids stability). 5-0 out of 5 stars Sony Digital Camera DSCR1 10.3MP
Excelent Photo Qualities, great detail on large prints.High quality lense, from wideangle to telephoto shots as simple as point and shoot. Manually ajust F-Stop and Shutter Speed for Field of Depth or Stop Action Shots.Everything from Metering to a grid viewfinder to make profesional photography simple.A major name brand body alone would cost three times as much for the 10.3MP format.A great camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Zen answer
I have previously been unsatisfied with digital cameras primarily due to the shutter lag phenomenon. I really like capturing the "moment" and in my years as a film photographer (mostly portraits and theater) was happy to say I wasted very little film.
