Great optical zoom for a compact; plastic feel to it (though metal in front)
I bought the S10 mainly because it reminded of my much loved Coolpix 990.The camera body is very light save for the lens which will tip the camera on its side when set facing forward.The body feels kinda hollow and cheap though it is metal (feelslike plastic on the back).The LCD is great with nice brightness, actually too bright for my normal viewing pleasure.What annoys me at the moment is the menu system. It takes a few steps to choose between mode and custom scene settings, compared to my Canon Sd700IS which is very simple to switch modes and make selections.With some practice Im sure the menus will become second nature.I simply love the clarity and details I have been getting with this camera.

Digital camera
After much research and consideration, I decided to purchase this fine little camera.This is my first digital camera and it was an excellent choice.I seriously considered getting a Canon Powershot but was a little apprehensive due to their recent problems with the dreaded e18 error messages.Granted, this Olympus camera is a new model so not much is known about potential risks, but I was willing to take a gamble and purchase it.Plus, with an excellent price point, I felt confident about my decision.
good pictures,very decentfor the price
this is a nice camera from olympus ,the big lcd is plus .It's small enough to fit in your pocket and fits comfortably in my hands.The image quality is good ,however the guide setting is very useful and pictures come out pretty clean,sharp and focused.The other settings results in soft images and the dis mode(digital image stabalization)results are noisy but stil usefull upto 4x6 prints.The battery life is mediocore,since it uses aa batteries,i recommend rechargeable they last long.For its low price ,large lcd,and good image quality ,i would recommend this camera to anybody.In the end its a good buy. ... Great compact camera!
Love this camera. I've owned The SD300, and SD400 and finally this one. Really like using it. The burst is awesome and takes pics rally fast during daytime. Nightime shooting is a little slower, but expected from a digital camera this size.

Fast repair
I asked for this camera for my birthday based on the favorable Amazon reviews.I received it in April and have been very happy with the photos it has taken.Unfortunately in August it stopped working.However, I sent it in with my receipt and they fixed it with no questions and I had it back in my hands in about two weeks or less.I think this is a great little camera for daily point-and-shoot and I would buy from Canon again based on their excellent customer service.

Great features - fragile screen!!!!
Our unit at work purchased several of these cameras for documenting field work.Even though we have all taken great care with them, we have 2 broken LCD screens which means the camera is pretty much junk.

I bought this camera based on the high approval rating on this site and on ConsumerReport's advice that it had excellent video quality.
Comment to "Noisy...no manual features" review
I don't think you can compare this camera to the canon S2/S3 or the Sony H5.This is a compact, pocket camera that is half their size and weight.You will not get a zoom that is as clear as something that has twice the space to work with.Compare this to similar cameras: Sony Cybershots or Canon SDxxx then you would be more than impressed.3x versus 10x....no competition.If you are looking for a camera with a great zoom that is compact and easy to carry with you everywhere, then look no further.Also, ignore digital zoom when you are researching.Digital zoom just makes everything more blurry.Optical zoom is key to great pictures.Hope this helps others in their decision. :-)

Panasonic lumix rocks
I owned two Panasomic Lumix cameras: FZ1 and TZ1. Besides them, I also have extensive experiences using Canon , Nikon models that were highly rated. Good first camcorder
Given that this is my first real camcorder, outside of the digital cameras I own that support 20 second video clips, I have little to compare it to.That being said, I've seen people with stacks of DV tape that they never convert to DVD, and consequently - never view again.I received my Gigashot from Amazon yesterday and was for the most part very pleased.It took very little time to understand how to use, the functions and menu items were relatively self-explanatory.I'd give Toshiba an A- for the design and ease of use; within five minutes, I was able to shoot a few clips, view on the LCD screen, hook up to my TV and computer to play back videos.

works with old Minolta 5000i lens
I bought it since I had the old Minolta 5000i body and lens. And the lens do work on the Sony Body. Even my Sunpak Flash work on the body also. I am now in digital SLR world and with a 70-210mm zoom and 10 meg pixel, croping pictures that are far away are amazing at what you get compared to my small 2x opitcal zoom point and shoot digital camara.

A great simple camera
I just needed something small, simple, and inexpensive. After comparing prices, I decided on this camera. I am enjoying very much, it takes great pictures and is really easy to use. The only problem I have with it is that the buttons (especially the 4 way control and OK) are a bit sensitive, so use a little care untill you get used to the way the camera works.

Cool little camera
I personally enjoy this camera. I dont see anything wrong with it. Well, except that the video doesnt have any audio. Other than that, I really like this camera. It has taken great photos and I can take it anywhere.

Smallest camera in the price rangeand good photos are posssible.
I have had the camera for about 6 months and do not regret it a bit. That does not mean it is a perfect camera. First of all here are the list of requirements I had when I was shopping for it.#1) smallsize #2) AA batteries #3) SD Card memory #4) 4MP or better#5) $100-130 range #6) good battery life #7) no optical zoom #8) convenient and easy to use.This camera hit on all cylinders and still does.I know someone is going to say why no optical zoom???Great question.Start up time and shutter lag is much more pronounced with optical zoom. Also, the more reviews I read on cameras that were already above my price range the common phrase went something like "I XXXXXX and the lens won't work anymore XXXXX camera is dead" It seemed to be the fragile and weak point of the less expensive cameras. Optical zooms also increased my price range and battery drain.When backpacking I do not want to pack more batteries. Would I have loved to have one of the credit card sized Exilim's with zoom and all?Sure, they were too much money and besides this camera was going backpacking and all sorts of stuff it was likely to get beat up.I wanted something solid and so far it is.The things I discovered I like about this camera that I did not know before hand are #1) the software is the easiest and best I have ever encountered.I did have some difficulty installing it.One call to cust service and he walked me through the steps of how to shut down the conflicting application and install it and I have never had an issue yet.I thought the simplicity and small size would be nice. I underestimated how nice it is.Because I can carry it anywhere and use it quickly and easily I take far more pictures.My kids take far more pictures and they take great pictures.My wife who could not use anything but a disposable point and shoot can use it.If you have not figured it out, we like this camera.Now a couple of things to balance out my review.I bought the c310 Easyshare for my son.In comparing photos I noticed a couple of things.Some of my photos would be very contrasty and his would be more balanced and even.I have read these cameras electronically boost color saturation and I think they went too far with it on my camera.But still good pictures in most cases.In low light I could not get it to take good pictures.The flash reaches about 7-10 feet and then it was all black.I found out if there was some light and I turned the flash off I would be able to get a picture and in some cases a good one.I could not figure this out until I read that the ISO range is 100-400 with auto adjustment except in flash mode.Then it locked at 140.Problem solved.Turn the camera on, push the flash control button 3 times to turn it off and it may take an OK picture. With the flash turned off atleast you have a chance. It still is not a good low light camera but most in this price range are not going to be.That is a feature that costs more.All in all, this camera is a keeper? YEP.It will never be my only camera and it is not perfect, but for a small affordable camera that can go anywhere and be ready to use at a moment's notice it gets the job done.It is not and never will be perfect nor will it be a professional photographers dream but it is mine and I like it. ... Get the Rebel XTi (from a 30D owner)
All the reviews praising this as the best Canon DSLR for the cost were posted before the Canon Rebel XTi was introduced.I own the 30D and I am very pleased with it, however I also bought it a few weeks before the Rebel XTi was fully announced.The Rebel XTi has more megapixels than the 30D (10 vs 8) and the XTi has a self dust cleaning system which the 30D does not have.The only true reason to choose the 30D over the XTi is if you are a serious sports photographer and need 5 frames per second (30D) instead of 3 fps (XTi).Another major distinction between the two bodies is the size.The XTi is much smaller than the 30D.Some love this, while others with large hands prefer the larger size of the 30D.Since the XTi is about $[...] less than the 30D I would have to advise you to get the XTi.
I have had mine for 6 months
First I shopped around a lot and settled on the 30D. This camera has not let me down at all. I have taken over 10,000 photographs (Not all good) But have gotten some great shots. I am still learning different things with photography and every time I want to try something new the Canon 30d is capable and grows with me. I now have 3 lenses with most of my range and have not at any time regretted my decision buying this camera. It is very easy to use also.

Canon DC100
I Love this camcorder.This is the third camcorder I have had.The first being the humongus VHS.I had to rest it on my shoulder to use it.The second was a VHS-C which was about half the size of the first.This one is so small and compact, I can carry it in my pants pocket.It takes excellent video and I like the review screen where I can pick out the video I want to watch.My Daughter likes it so much, she is looking to buy one also. Canon rules.

Second one
I am now getting my second one. The first one fell out of a helikopter in Iraq so now it time to get a new one. For normal people like me its a really good camera. I took hundreds of pictures in all sorts of moving things and no othe camera any of the other guys had could match this one. Thats why i lost it because I was being silly in the helikopter....would have been a hell of apicture thow!

Good camera with some flaws
I purchased this camera a few weeks ago.I decided to purchase this rather than the Canon SD600 despite my excellent history with Canon cameras. At the time, the SD600 was about $50 more than this camera, but the price of the cannon has dropped since. In short, I'm happy but not trilled with this camera. If I was to do it again, I'd go with the Canon.

I upgraded to this camera finally severing the link to the previous Olympus 3020 Camedia.The Olympus cost me >$500, 5 years ago, and served me well, but the thing sucked up battery juice like a kid on a can of soda at the water park.

Short and Sweet
I just bought this at my local store.It prints great pictures...it so easy to set up.Most of the comments below I agree with.I'll leave it to that!!

One of the best gifts I've ever received
I received the printer as a Xmas gift from my mother and brother in 2005. I love love love this photo printer.I was blown away by the print quality when I saw the very first picture that I printed.They look like they were developed in a photo lab. I've printed more than 300 photos and the quality of the print is the same as the very first picture.I love all the features of the printer especially the Disney borders.Since the printer is portable and does not require a PC, I have taken it to special events and printed photos to give to friends and family.Most of them have also been amazed at the quality of the photos.No more photo labs for me.I would highly recommend this printer to anyone and everyone.
