5-0 out of 5 stars You're going to love this outfit
My first digital SLR was the D70. I stayed with slides a long time, 30 years. But with digital I had more keepers at the end of the day. Everything good about digital is enhanced by this package. Everything good that you've heard is true. Get in line. It took me 6 months to get this one. You'll have a ball.

5-0 out of 5 stars Already one of the great ones.A great deal.
The Nikon D200 is a professional camera which is also aimed at the serious amateur digital photographer. It is essentially the upgrade unit from the D100/D70s, and it incorporates solid improvements over those excellent cameras.
5-0 out of 5 stars I love this camera
My advice is to buy an extra battery and a 2MB memory card. Other than that, I love this camera. I am often complimented on the image quality and many functions of the Nikon D200.I highly recommend it to experienced photographers (it is a bit complex for those used to a point-and-shoot). ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!
I just finished the first set of pics with this machine and was surprised at the amazing sharpness and the accuracy of the autofocus, not to mention the deapth of field when compared to our older Canon digital camera.
5-0 out of 5 stars Exceptional Camera!!! Buy This!
I am an 11 year old boy who was looking for a camera to take pictures with, a good price and one that was nice. It turns out I get this camera and I took it to the beach and took it into the forest and the pictures turned out excellent! The only reason why I did not give it five stars was because sometimes it would beep and not activate no matter what I did. This is most likely because it is refurbished- this rarely happens. If I were you I would not worry about it and not by the camera because of it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Good For Outdoors Only
This camera is incredibly frustrating.I must admit that under ideal lighting conditions outdoors on a moderate to fully sunny day, the camera takes wonderful pictures. However, photos using indooor and mixed lighting conditions leave alot to be desired. If you want to take any indoor pictures with natural light, this is not the camera for you.The reason being is that if the flash is not activated or the lighting is not perfect, the camera slows down the shutter speed considerably.Since the camera does not have very good image stabilization (if any) indoor pictures are blurry unless you have the hands of a surgeon.Of course you can use the flash, but then your subject will be overlit, while the background is pitch dark. And forget about taking long range pictures indoors (i.e. at a graduation ceremony or wedding) because if the flash is on, you will get a black picture because the camera does not compensate the shutter speed for distance, it only adjusts to whether or not it thinks the flash is on.If it is off, your picture will be blurred because the shutter stays open for 1-2 seconds.Since I take alot of indoor pictures, this camera is worthless to me.If you only plan to take outdoor pictures in ideal light, this is the camera for you.If you want to do any natural light photography, forget it. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Great idea, too bad it doesn't work
I have a 15 year old Garmin GPS that can capture GPS satellites quickly in my backyard. I have a new Garmin Nuvi that can capture GPS satellites inside my house! For some reason the Celestron engineers decided to use some ancient GPS technology that can only capture the GPS satellites if you are in outer space actually sitting on one of the GPS satellites.
1-0 out of 5 stars Too many conditions
We have enough open sky for DirectTV, but apparently not enough for this item to pick up the GPS satellites.I manually entered my latitude and longitude only to get a big M for magnetic interference.Yes, we have electricity and power lines near our house, and this thing won't work with them there.I would have to drive a long way to find an open field.I got this thing for my backyard! If I could see the entire sky, I could figure out where objects are much easier and would not need it so much.I agree it really sucks batteries.I've been through 1 1/2 sets and haven't even gotten to work yet.The store I bought it from has only a seven day return policy, so I can't even send it back.Very disappointed.

3-0 out of 5 stars Clever but not stellar!
It really sucks batteries, they should have used at least 4 AA cells. The GPS resolution only goes down to minutes, no seconds. It's all plastic and for $400 I expected higher quality. It won't help you find man-made satellites as I suspect the processor is too slow and there is not even a way to display the present elevation and azimuth although it must know them for internal calculations.Updating the firmware is way slow.Under "Tonight's Highlights" it may show from the menu that Jupiter for example is visible but when I tried to locate it, it has me point the unit into the dirt since if the object was not above my horizon.Maybe they could highlight menu objects that are truly visible? You're much better off with Starry Night and a laptop. ... Read more

We have to tell you, wide-angle capabilities in a point-and-shoot digital camera are a revelation. Does this camera have that and more? Sure does. Dual lenses, so that it goes from a wide 23mm equivalent to a 117mm equivalent (6x zoom) without a protruding lens? Check. A large, beautiful LCD? Sure thing. An in-camera panoramic stitch that makes the most of both those features? Oh, yes.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars For A Wide Angle Lens!
If you are interested in portable digital point and shoot cameras, since Canon discontinued the Power Shot S-80, this one is one of THREE digital point and shoot cameras on the market that I know of that have a "true" WIDE ANGLE lens of 28mm---23mm in this case! (Or in this case a 23mm super wide angle lens!)(The other two are: The Canon Power Shot SD800 IS for $400 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 for $250)
1-0 out of 5 stars Nice sleek camera
I had this camera for about a month. It works well. Shoots great video, I love making movies on the go with this thing! Can zoom in and out during filming. I'd say camera is better at filming than taking pictures. Pictures are good, however, forget about taking good quality pictures at evening on the downtown street. Daytime pics are good, could use an image stabilizer though. Blurry warning doesn't quite cut it. Camera design is awesome, the dual lens does not extend, I like that a lot! The only problem with that is if somebody else is taking a picture of you for instance they might accidentally put their fingers ON the lens. Happened to my camera, thankfully no damage. The docking station is cumbersome and unneccessary, invest in SD Card reader. 3X optical zoom is not enough. Wide angle lens is awesome. Overall - good camera for the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Camera
Basicly everything that "Jeffrey Picard 'Photo Guy'" mentioned is absolutly correct with the camera. Also according to toehrs the panoramic option isnt as great as you'd expect it to be, but i disagree. Of course you'll need some practice to get the knack of it but once you do the reward is some wonderful panoramic views! The camera door is weak and if you drop it the door opens and the impact might even make the memory card come out. so be careful with it, and dont just be a klutz. Another thing to mention is that despite popular belief you dont need to bring the Kodak Stand on your travels in order to charge your camera. NO! All you have to do is bring the AC Adapter cable with you [which is included, the same one you use to plug in the stand] because there is a hole in which you can plug the adapter into your camera and charge it.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME PRODUCT
I've been using Memorex DVD-R for almost a year now and I should say this product is awesome!I never had a bad DVD, unlike other blank DVD which I usually get error during write or sometimes won't play on my Toshiba player.I have an HP DVD writer. It cost a little more compared to other brands but since I'm not wasting any of it due to bad write, it actually ended being cheaper. And with this price from Amazon...it makes it even better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kodak EasyShare V603 is the best ultra-compact camera right now
Kodak EasyShare V603 is a great camera. It is an underdog in the digital camera world. Many digital camera websites on the internet have a bias that Canon and Nikon are superior cameras, while Kodaks are considered inferior ----- but V603 proves that this is not true. The V603 is very small, takes great pictures with excellent exposure, and is built better than any ultra-compact Canon and Nikon has to offer. In my review, I'll try to mention aspects that other reviews haven't covered as yet. 5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, easy, fast, sleek little camera with GREAT pics!
This is the third camera that I have tried out for my main family snapshots. This is an outstanding blend of style and performance and it is small enough to easily fit into your pocket.I was looking for good picture quality with a fast shutter/auto focus speed and this camera fits the bill.In addition, it shoots high quality (TV quality) video compressed in MPEG-4 meaning you can store 30 min of video on 1 GB of memory. This camera is truly a pocketable still and video shooter ready to capture anything you throw its way.I have tried the camera in many different lightings and it has performed very well with outstanding pictures all around.I would highly recommend this picture for anyone that wants good quality and fast performance in a small package.

4-0 out of 5 stars Faster response time than the Sony Cybershot I owned, but more out of focus shots
I can't say I don't like my Nikon Coolpix P4. With its 8 megapixels, the quality of the pictures is amazing beyond any doubt. Also, the range of situations that it can adapt to and the video it helps produce outranks all previous digital cameras I've owned (granted that I haven't had any digital SLRs).
5-0 out of 5 stars Solid compact digital camera - bypass P3 and get P4
A good solid digital camera that accomplishes what it sets out to do which is to take EXCELLENT photos. Forget the features in these types of cameras (I prefer to use my dSLR whenever possible, but lets face it, its rarely practical to take a 5 pound camera with your everywhere). I tend to be a Nikon-brand snob (except for the excellent Canon s50/60/70/80 series) because the lenses are superior and the shots terrific. This is a camera designed to pop into your pants pocket or your backpack or purse, and go...The results are excellent. THe software included average. Bypass the 100.00 pricier P3 (which is the exact same camera with totally useless WiFi built in driving up the price) and go for the P4.The Vibration Reduction works! Took many photos from a moving boat the other day and everything was sharp and clear. Great color saturation. Good wide to zoom range coverage. A bit chunky in your hand, which feels great -- you don't feel like you are holding a deck of cards and shooting from a box...Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of everything in a compact package
I bought this camera earlier this summer (2006) to take on a trip to Sweden because I wanted lots of versatility but without the bulk of my 3-year-old Sony digital. There are tinier cameras out there, but after some research I didn't find any with all the functions and range of capabilities of the CoolPix P4 (and the Nikon name, I admit, was also a selling point). The vibration reduction proved itself extremely useful: I took lots of photos from a moving bicycle on a dirt road (using one hand!) and they came out beautifully. I was also doing genealogical research while on this trip, and found that by using the "museum" scene function together with the macro dial setting I could take crystal clear color photos of 150-year-old archival documents using available light; this worked even better than the b/w of the "copy" setting an earlier reviewer mentions. Outdoor photos in a range of light from dawn to dusk, especially if I made use of the scene functions, came out with true-to-life, rich color; indoors I could often go without flash in surprisingly low light, but if needed, the flash in automatic setting seemed well-balanced, not washed out. I've been very happy with the quality of photography and with the ease of use: It works fine as a point-and-shoot you can hand to a kind stranger to take your photo, but also has the bells and whistles to please a much more sophisticated shutterbug. If you want a compact camera that can give you SLR-worthy results, I highly recommend this one. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Space

1-0 out of 5 stars File Error
I own a Sony DSC-S40. I had lost my Sony Memory Stick so I thought I'd try this one. I purchased it the end of June and almost every time I take a video and try to veiw it, it will play and at any point durring a video it will stop and say file error. This also causes a problem while I download them onto my pc. Only once had it done this on a picture and I ended up having to delete the picture because it wouldn't download. Sometimes it just don't pay to save money. I will never purchase this kind of Memory Stick again. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Camcorder- Great Value
This is a great camcorder for the price. If you are looking at the Panasonic PV-GS line of camcorders, This is the way they should rate:
4-0 out of 5 stars Great economical 3CCD video camera. Works with OS X.
I have no complaints about this camera. Very happy with my purchase. It does the job and captures great video. And I have had no problem transferring video via Firwire running OS X on my MacBook using Apple's Final Cut Express HD software.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth all the time I spent researching it!
I just got my Panasonic PV-GS500 camcorder/digital camera on Friday.I have not had a lot of time to completely try out all its features (which probably has more than I will ever use for either personal or business reasons), but I already love it.One review states that it is over 3 pounds. This is only true if you include all the accessories that come with it.Normal operation (a lens cap, hand strap, tape, SD card, and battery), along with the camera/camcorder, put this unit at just under 1.4 pounds, which is certainly NOT heavy. Also, Amazon does a disservice to potential customers when it lists "What's in the box?" on this page.More than the three items mentioned comes with this camcorder. In fact, everything that the company packages with this camcorder comes with it.To see which accessories are included, you can go to Panasonic's website, click on this product, and view its product manual. The included accessories are listed near Page 12, I believe. You get things like cables, batteries, remotes, a manual, software, etc.I have never written a review before, but these two things compelled me to do so.I love this camera, and Amazon is reputable and offers a great price on it.I did a lot of research on all camcorder/camera combos, and this one won out in my opinion. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars nervous at first, now, very excited about it
I did a lot of research before buying my first digital camera.I wanted a quality camera, and I went back and forth between the $300+ and the under $150 camera's.I chose this one because I figured at $140, 5MP, and 3x optical zoom, I would use it for a year and then get a new one and not feel gipped.Well, the camera is so great!I knew nothing about digital camera's, the instructions use language that I'm not familiar with, but the camera is very user friendly. It takes some tinkering with, but it's easy to figure everything out.Pictures come out crystal clear. The different picture scene modes make for some creative pictures.I travel a lot, I love to go out to the clubs and bars, party in the moonlight and dance till the sun rises, I love to do outdoor and indoor sports... this camera is light, small, I can keep it in my pocket, and it takes great pictures.I have a mac computer, so the cd didn't load.. but all you have to do is connect the camera and the computer and an icon pops up.Do a little copy and paste, easy. The battery life is good.I like the fact that it used AA batteries, because when travelling overseas, it's easy to buy batteries, and more difficult to make sure you find an outlet to charge your camera. After about 4 days of using it continuously, the battery still was a little over 1/2 full.I was a little concerned about the optical zoom, thought maybe I should invest in a camera that had more... well, after taking a picture of a house, I was able to zoom in and read the words on a post-it note on the front door- 3x is plenty!I Highly recommend this camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Totally terrific camera!!!!
This is supposedly an entry level digital camera, but I have already found more cool bells and whistles than I will ever use. Since most of my photography is of performance horses, I was very interested in how the camera would handle the in motion pictures. The "sports" mode stops them in their tracks with totally terrific resolution. It is very easy to operate with on screen menus that really are effortless to use.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good Camera for the price
Camera has good features and decent battery life for a "regular" camera. For those of you who don't need a special camera and just want something that can take decent pictures. This is a good one.I like it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great entry level DSLR!
Not much to add to the other positive reviews posted, other than I am another user that loves my D50. Have had it for a year now and shot over 10,000 photos with excellent results (mostly landscape and wildlife).Excellent image quality and the hand grip fits perfectly to both my hand and my husbands.
5-0 out of 5 stars Unless you are a sport journalist, you can't go wrong with this camera.
The Nikon D50 is my fourth digital camera, and my first SLR camera. I don't know why I didn't try SLR earlier, but now I have decided that I will never go back to non-SLR cameras (well, I still have my other 3 point and shoot digital cameras which sometime is more convenient to carry.) I guess I'm just trying to show how much I like the SLR camera.
5-0 out of 5 stars Very good first Digital SLR Camera
I am very happy with this camera. It takes very good photos in automatic mode, but all the extra features make you want to learn how to take amazing photos. Also, I have big hands so the camera feels a lot nicer in my hands than the Canon Digital Rebel XT.The only improvements I would make to the camera are:

5-0 out of 5 stars Great quality, great pictures, amazing PnS camera.
Yesterday, I got home with my new sd800. And due to the scrutiny of the forums, I immediately had to test it. I compared exact duplicate shots from my SD550 to this "upgrade" sd800. I am very sad to say that in normal shooting conditions, this model just couldn't keep up. The main things I saw the sd800 losing horribly to the sd550 in were: picture clarity, sharpness (edge to edge) and color accuracy (the sd800's produces a very warm shot, too much yellow & red). This was a disappointment indeed when you compare the fact that my sd550 is almost a year old.
4-0 out of 5 stars Nice, sleek, sharp,... noisy
10 megapixels, digital macro, telephoto, high ISO, higher definition video, less noise even at higher ISO settings. A nice little package that is worth the upgrade from the SD700 series, and coupled with a 4GB Sandisk SDHC, you got yourself a semi-proffesional, portable photography platform...

3-0 out of 5 stars Problem with Borders
This printer literally sits on the same shelf as an Epson 3810 and Canon ip6600D.I also have a Epson RX500 somewhere else. So, I'm making direct comparisons here.
2-0 out of 5 stars Dismal service
Had to return replacement unit as it was clear it was dropped in shipping and would not feed paper. After many hours running tests and sitting on the phone they agreed to send a 2nd replacement. One area of disappointment was that the number to call for a UPS pickup was for a phone service call-girl. I tried to explain this to HP to no avail. All in all I found the experience disappointing.

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor Reliability
While I agree the photo quality is outstanding with this printer, mine failed after fewer than a dozen uses. The photo tray stopped feeding 4x6 paper, even after spending $25 on an HP paper feed cleaner designed for this model. To make matters worse, the replacement offer from HP is slightly worse than buying a brand-new HP 8250 printer direct from Amazon. On the plus side, HP customer service was extremely patient while I hunted for my misplaced receipt to prove warranty eligibility (which I couldn't). Ouch! UPDATE: The next day I finally located my receipt, but the 1-year warranty had expired by 10 days. HP would not honor the elapsed warranty and charged me the full replacement amount ($99) for another printer. Pretty chintzy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars best prints I have ever seen
Easy install, no need to install any overbloated software. Great printouts on glossy and matt photo paper. Read the Manual on solving color managment problems if you use Photoshop CS2 so that what you see on the monitor is what you get. If you use Photoshop Elements it has a setting just for the epson R1800. Prints beautifull lables on TDK matt white DVD's with the included software. you can use nero's label making software but you must set the paper type to (epson stylus photo R800 A4) so that it is centered on the disk. All in all the best wide format photo printer I have seen .

2-0 out of 5 stars Mac Users Beware!
This printer does not print tiled documents from either Indesign or Illustrator. It also is very hard to set the page set up for the printer because the driver written for this printer conflicts with the settings in the print dialog box of the software. I have seen this happen in both Illustrator and Indesign. Very frustrating. I called Epson about this, they told me to call Adobe who told me to call E
