Nice filter, questionable frame
The filter itself worked just fine, clearing out a lot of unwanted haze issues.However, I had to replace this one after only a week, as the metal frame bent when I was trying to attach a lens to it.I was not using a lot of force to make the attachment, in fact, the lens went on rather easily.However, once I took it off, the glass began to rattle in the metal frame, and upon closer inspection, I saw that the frame had split across a seam.I will use other Tiffen filters, as the quality to price ratio is very good.I just need to treat them with a little extra care, as they may not be designed to have lenses attached to them. ... Not Getting What Was Ordered
I ordered this item from Amazon.com and the item was shipped by Adorama. I went to a local camera store to get a 55mm UV filter and found out that the lens has no 55mm thread for the filter. According to specs in Tiffen website, the lens has this 55mm thread. The package of the lens is not labeled 'MegaPlus' and the body of the shipped item is black; Amazon.com website showed silver color. It looks like an old model. Amazon.com allows returns within 30 days; Adorama allows only 15 days as I found out too late. I feel that it was Adorama's error and email them about exchangeing for current model on 7/15. So far no response. I suggest Amazon.com to hold its partner stores to the same standard as itself. Most of east coast camera stores do not have good reputation. ... Read more

Great Lens
So far I have really enjoyed this lens. Great wide views. There is only 1 problem. I use this with a Canon A95 digital camera. I need a adapter to use lenses on the camera, I have this. If I use that wide angle lense right on the end of the adapter I get good images but the outside edges are out of focus. If using the same setup, you can purchase an extender ring that brings everything into focus. This might and probably will be different with different cameras.
Works for me!
I use this wide-angle lens with a Sony Mavica MVC-CD200. It greatly expands the field of vision with a minimal amount of distortion. (Straight lines near the edge of the image are slightly bowed. This isn't noticeable when imaging landscapes or large groups of people.) Focus stays sharp throughout the range of the zoom lens. I use this camera to document my work as an electrical contractor and the expanded field of vision makes it much easier to photograph an entire kitchen or the interior of a small bathroom. This product would be very helpful to realtors & the like. I've found it works just as well as the larger and much more expensive Sony wide angle lens. You cannot zoom with the Sony lens, and you must make sure you put the camera in macro mode or your pictures will be severely out of focus. The lens is 3" in diameter and partially blocks the pop-up flash on my Mavica. This would be a problem with any wide angle lens and can be resolved by using an optional flash. I highly recommend this product.

FOCUSING PROBLEMS?
I have used this lens on a Sony W-7 and have found the centers of the photos to be sharp and the edges of the photos to be out of focus. It might be a good lens but not for the W-7? I use all the Sony lenses on this same camera without any problems. ... Read more

Great Lens set
I received the lenses and they were all good quality. The case that comes with them is also very nice. I was worried about the polarizing lens not working after reading the other reviews,but mine worked fine.
You get what you pay for!
I purchased this set, and upon arrival, I found the circular polarizer to be defective.Amazon quickly replaced the set, and this polarizer did not work either!I returned the set, as I am not going to waste any more time trying to get a polarizer that works.I'll pay more, and get a quality product from a different maker.I will say that Amazon is second to nobody for customer service.I appreciate that, and will continue to be an Amazon customer.However, I can't say the same for Tiffen.

Inexpensive protection for expensive lenses
If you are a believer in protecting your expensive lens purchase with a filter than you can do a lot worse than a Tiffen filter.The glass quality is good and the price is reasonalbe.The filter cuts down on the glare that can adversly effect some shots with out an uv filter as advertised. Not much else to say.

No problems - good product for the price
I bought this to keep the dust of Iraq out of my Canon EF-S 17-85 lens. It does a fine job and I've seen no noticeable change in the quality of images that I'm capturing with my Canon 20D.

Does what it's supposed to
I bought this filter to put on the front of the 18-70 DX lens on my Nikon D50.It works well and protects the front element of the lens from dust, dirt, fingerprints and whatnot.

Tilting base needs compensation for heavy cameras - but good value!
I have a Nikon D50, and when attaching the camera, the tilting base of the tripod needs a little compensation for the camera weight. Hence, I haven't found any use for the libelle on the tripod. I have to look through the wiev finder to see if my set-up is level or not.
An excellent value, but the shipping cost was high
I have a very small camera (a Canon SD450) and find this tripod to be a perfect match.It is light and small and easy to carry with the included canvas case. It has a few nice features that I didn't expect (even though I read the text!) like the bubble level on the platform.

TIFFEN 58MM PHOTO ESSENTIALS FILTER KIT
The product is a top quality product. The filters work excellent with my Canon Powershot S2. Without a doubt, worth every penny, especially considering the price I paid for it, which was at least half of where I saw it listed at other places. Very happy with the purchase.

Good price, but not great quality
I am not impressed with Tiffen filters I got in this set.The finish of the rings are poor.Despite of previously poor reputaion, I recently purchased some 67mm Quantaray filter from the local Ritz Camera store which are of much better quality compared to this set of Tiffen filters.I never got Tiffens before, had good experience with Hoyas.I will probably stay with those from now on.Now come to think of it, Ritz camera indicated the Quantaray they had were made by Hoya.

Tiffen 55mm Essentials Filter Kit - Great
Where else can you get three filters essentially for the price of one.Have tried them all, work great.

Wrong Information Supplied
In an email, Adorama specified that the filter diameter was, "28mm." On the amazon.com website is states that the same filter is a 55mm filter mounting! Either they don't know their products or they don't care about the customers. Now I have to return it because of faulty information they supplied. Please beware that their shipping charges equal approximately 25% of the purchase price - an amount I feel is beyond absurd. I can buy this locally for a lot less (even though I would have to pay sales tax). Buyer beware.

Amazon Quality Control Problem
The filters are fine but Amazon sent me a defective filter 58mm and two 55mm filters.They then promised me a postage page envelope to send the defective part back but I have not received either of the two that they said they sent.Now they are threatening to charge me for the defective item because I haven't sent it back yet.I will now pay for the defective shipment back to them and not order from them again. ... Not Great
Bought these for my Nikon D200 about 3 months ago. Never having used Tiffen before I took a chance on a recommendation. Vignetting can be an issue for polarizing filters and the vignetting on this one is the worse I've seen. Build quality of all the filters is really not very good. Going to go back to Hoya's which are much better.

Not sure about it !
I feel that these filters are not required if you have digital camera the coze you you can do what ever you like by computer graphics programs onlythe UV protector is important.
