being an avid photographer with a love of altered photos, i was an instant fan of lomo cameras. the fisheye is the second one i have and i love it amazing!! plus mine is gold!

Let's hear it for easy fun and creativity
This adorable lightweight camera is perfect for people who want a unique look to their photos but don't have the money to invest in fancy camera bodies and wide-angle lenses. The fisheye camera is as easy to use as any point-and-click, and it's fixed-focus lens means no zooming, focusing, or other photographic buzz-killers. What you see is what you get, wrapped into a gently bended shape with vignetted corners. The only consideration is that you must photograph well-lit subjects or shoot outside, as there is no aperature or shutter speed control-but it's a lot of fun!! Try to recreate all your favorite band photos from the '90s by shooting on high-speed black and white film.

This Camera is all about YOU!
I read the comments (even the bad one) before I purchased this camera. I took a chance because for something that might be really cool, its only $40. And he was right, the viewfinder is useless, but they even tell you that in the manual. Also, you do have to get really close to the subject, and shots only come out good if there's LOTS of light (especially indoor). Anyway, my first set of prints came out just okay, with a few amazing shots. From that set of prints I learned how to maximize the potential of this camera. The key is to fill up the frame. I took a shot of my friend out in a parking lot. The foreground was just her and the background was the sky. It came out so cool because the entire frame had something in it. There were scattered clouds everywhere, if the sky had been clear it would have just been clear blue space. But because I filled up the frame with objects everywhere, there were things to be distorted with the fisheye. I took another shot of the courtyard of a tall apartment building. That came out great because there were so many vertical lines and the fisheye could bend them. This camera doesn't take great pictures by itself so don't expect it to. This is a great camera for those wanting to experiment with "artsy" shots, or even advanced photographers wanting to return to their roots. Nothing about these shots are adjustable - f-stop, exposure, ISO are always constant.

JUNK!
I had been wanting this camera for a while, since my boss showed it to me online. The things I saw online made it look so cool. I'm a camera buff. Finally decided to order it, I even paid extra for next day shipping. I was excited to get home to try it out. As soon as I opened the package and picked it up, I realized how cheaply made it is. I loaded the film according to the directions, but the advance mechanism didn't work right. It would just tear the film at the little gripper hole things. I thought maybe it was my error or defective film or something. I went out and bought another 2 rolls of film to try. Same thing! The advance wheel feels so cheap and notchy. The design of the advance wheel is terrible also. It doesn't grip the film positively. I packaged the camera back up, and now am returning it. I guess I have to eat the extra shipping costs and cost of the film I bought to try it the second time. What a waste of money! Don't buy this!!! :( Look for a quality camera.

take the colorsplash with a pinch of salt.
Not related to the performance of the camera - mine arrived missing the lid - and it looked like it had previously been opened - however I bought it "new" of amazon.I was nonetheless excited and it looked like nothing (minus the lid) was missing so I set it up and got to shooting.
its a waste
If you already have a camera with a hot shoe attachment on it, then you should probably just go ahead and get the colorsplash flash attachment rather than this camera. The flash is like 30 dollars, while this camera is 70. you pay 40 dollars for a plastic camera body that may or may not work great (mine didnt). If you want the interesting photos that come with colorsplash cameras, just go ahead and get the flash. ... Read more

Fun--but get close, I mean reeealy close
This is a fun camera for action shots. You need to be 3 feet or less away from your subject or you get some really sketchy results.
my first lomo experience
i stumbled across these lomo cameras on the amazon.com website.they sounded fun so i ordered this particular camera.wow! i was pleasantly surprised with the different effects you can achieve by "shooting from the hip".definately use 400 or 800 speed film and definately take it everywhere you go.the case of the camera does seem like a cheaply made camera but WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THE PICTURES THAT YOU WILL GET. definately worth the money and i will definately order more lomo specialty cameras....got my eye on the fisheye camera! ... Crazy and Fun
I love the Supersampler.I definitely prefer its panoramic format and much sharper image rendition to the original four-lensed Actionsampler.It's really fun to play and experiment with.Be sure to try the extreme close-up effect!
A unique, fun camera
No one should order this camera hoping that they will receive a professional quality item.It is simply made to be fun, and that is what it is.It is made of plastic, and it is fragile...so I will warn you.Nonetheless, it is, as I have said, tons of fun.Naturally, since it has no flash, you have to take the pictures with plenty of light.Also, every picture you get developed isn�t going to be of professional quality, but that is part of the fun--you just dont know what you are going to get.

I love you, Supersampler
I really enjoy this camera. It is cheaply made and I feel like I have to be very careful not to break it especially while advancing the film but it takes some great pictures. On a roll of 24 I had about 1/2 a roll of great photos. It's a lot of fun and experiment with. The packaging is very cool and it somes with a little book of photos taken with the camera that are really neat.

Fun while it lasted . . .
I bought this as a present for my room mate and he took some pictures and it was fun, but halfway through the first roll of film the string (which is the shutter release) broke.
cheapo but neato
Just got my first roll back of Supersampler photos. The camera is extremely fragile and cheap in feel and in cost and is the antithesis of the Canon 300D I usually shoot with. But the results are just so different and cool, it's well worth the investment. The total lack of controls (even a viewfinder!) makes every picture a guess, and makes the results even more rewarding. I strongly recommend it if you want an inexpensive alternative to the precision you're used to. ... Read more

mine broke too :[
It broke after my 3rd roll.
it broke
i had this camera for maybe about a month, and i only got to take one roll of film before it broke on me. the film advance lever is really cheaply made of plastic, so it had a hard time pulling the film across and then eventually it just broke on me. What a waste of 40 dollars! its a pretty interesting camera, but if it can't even survive pulling your film across the camera, whats the point of it.

Really fun and different
I've had this camera for about 3 months and I think it's very unique and is definitely worth trying out. The only thing that I can think of that is a disadvantage is that it doesn't have a flash- you must take all pictures in sunlight or they don't turn out. It's really fun to take pictures of things like birds or cars on the highway because you get a completely different image in each of the eight images. I would recommend it for anyone into art. ... A neat little camera!
I found this by accident, and if you are tired of taking perfect digital pictures this is a lot of fun.People will look at you funny when you take off the lens cap and they see all nine lenses.Sometimes my wife cuts the pictures apart for scrapbooking.It really works.

this is a waste of money
taking nine images of the same exact thing on one negative really isnt that interesting. you could just use a regular camera and take a picture, and then go in your computer and duplicate it 9 times and arrange it as you wish. it's really not that hard, and you dont have to pay any money then. Also with your own camera you could make it more interesting and change some of the images to make a more interesting overall image.
