5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Photos Every Time
I LOVE this camera. I've had it for about three years now and I have yet to take a bad picture. They are all clear, crisp and beautiful. My brother has even asked me to take photos at his wedding next year because he loves my portfolio. This truly is a terrific camera. I won't go digital because I love this camera so much.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera
I bought maxxum 5 from amazon about 2+ years ago. There is almost no way to take bad pictures with this camera. I have taken pictures sharp clear and so professional looking that I was tempted to send them to National Geographic ! Anyway, I am not a professional photographer but have been using maxxum line (I had a 7000i) for quite some time. I love how small and light but yet ergonomic this camera is. You can handle this with one hand and still not risk shaking. Battery life is great. Along with this camera I also bought 80-300mm zoom lense from sigma. My camera was not the QD version, that is my only gripe. But that was my since I did not look for the QD version at the time of purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great minolta
I've had a series of minolta SLRs (5xi, 500si, etc), most recently the Maxxum 5.They've all been great and have all done very well for me.Features, sharpness, exposure, automatic and manual modes all just what I need.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera... even better if you have a coupon!
I bought this camera because I have been switching back and forth between a Pentax zoom camera I won in a drawing and my six-year-old date-stamp Konica.I had finally had it.I wanted a camera that could zoom AND date stamp at the same time without me having to resort to my digital camera all the time.I'm a member of Amex's membership rewards program and one of their rewards is this camera.I compared it with the other Konica cameras of its caliber. I researched it in contrast to other companies' offerings for similar systems.....I received the camera right before we went on vacation to CA.Can I just say that I *LOVE* this camera! It's light, easy to use, and takes great photos! The only way they could make it better would be if it had greater zoom capacity and I could see the photo before it was written to the film.If you're on a tight budget, yet don't want your camera to look like you are, then this is the camera for you.And if you can use gift certificates and coupons to get it through Amazon.com, all the better!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best underwater camera around
My Vectis has been through thick and thin with me and never let me down. It was expensive at the time I bought it (1999) but the pictures it has taken are priceless and it still performs like a champ. I've decided to retire mine and take the plunge with a digital but would replace it if I could find one for a reasonable price. They seem to be hard to come by anymore. Im guessing people like myself just keep them until they fall apart.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good service
I have had my Minolta Vectis Weathermatic for about 4 years and have used it mainly when sailing and around boats and beaches. It always produces good shots and has never let me down.I am on my 3rd battery which I think is pretty reasonable.I like it because it is chunky and solid and can take the knocks and drops.I have never used it underwater but it shrugs off immersion in waves and sitting on (and in) a hot, sandy beach.
5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended
I have owned this camera for 5 years now and it's been through the ringer and is still in great shape. The key is to rinse it off and keep it clean especially after salt-water use. The picture quality is great underwater as well as land use. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed it until it broke...
When I purchased this camera 3 years ago (2003), it was about as close as you could get to a dSLR without forking over $2000 to buy one. Given that context, I would have rated the camera 4.5 to 5 stars at the time.
1-0 out of 5 stars Minolta Dimage 7Hi waste of money
I purchased my Minolta two years ago. After about 1 year the flash housing came apart, and now the camera's EVF and LCD displays went completely black (no images displayed). The same has happened to Mad Max's camera - read his review. The charge to repair is in excess of $ 350.00. I would dump the camera but don't want to contaminate the land fill.

2-0 out of 5 stars Reliability leaves something to be desired
I purchased my Minolta Dimage 7Hi new 2 years ago.Performance was fine up until two weeks ago when the camera's EVF and LCD displays went completely black (no images displayed). Contacted Sony (where you now have to go for Minolta service) as instructed and found that the base flat rate for repair was $211 plus $22 shipping. They got me once, but they won't get me twice!

1-0 out of 5 stars Cheaply Made!
Within a short time after purchase, the (plastic) back latch on the Minolta Freedom Action Zoom 90-Date camera broke. Now the camera is worthless. The warranty covers only manufacturing defects (not poor design).I found the camera cheaply made and the quality of the pictures just average. My advice would be to spend a little more and get a better made camera that hasn't been so poorly designed.

1-0 out of 5 stars Minolta
I received this camera as a gift last November (1999).After 3 weeks of use, it started to rewind after only taking 2 or 3 pictures.I returned it to the store where it was purchased and exchanged it for the same model assuming it was an individual camera problem.I was wrong. The red eye reduction feature has never worked. When using the zoom feature, pictures are extremely fuzzy. The only way to get good pictures is to not use the zoom and take picture outdoors. Now the camera has completely quit working.Everything that can blink at me does.I tried replacing the battery and that was not successful.I do not recommend this particular camera to anyone.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mintolta
I have mixed feelings about this camera.I have been using it for the past year and have found that while my outdoor picutres come out nicely, indoor shots leave something to be desired.I have tried shots with 200 to800 speed film and 400 seems to give me the best pictures.I've alsonoticed that the pictures used with the zoom lense often come out fuzzy, somany of my early pictures weren't too clear. Also, when the camera usesthe flash, it takes a while before its ready again.I expected more fromthe camera, but am happy with its basic outdoor shots. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars You can't get a better camera for the price!
This camera has all the features (such as Multiple exposure, Self timer, high speed flash sync. etc.) that5-0 out of 5 stars Minolta Maxxum XTsi QD
After doing a lot of searching (and driving my husband crazy with all the research), I opted for this camera because we had an older Minolta and all the lenses which would be interchangeable with our new camera. The day I got the camera I took pictures - and they turned out great.Just point and shoot. Our vacation pictures are terrific and very clear and sharp. I love the automatic eye focus. The only drawback, which won't be a drawback once I know all the different options, is that there is so much you can do with this camera.I can hardly wait to start experimenting.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love This Camera!!
After days of research on the net, I decided my camera purchase would be the xtsi.I have been very happy with this camera for over a year.It is a great camera to grow with.It is very easy to learn. My instruction booklet is worn out.I purchased the 28-105mm sigma lens.I just recently purchased another sigma lens 100-300mm. My pictures turn out great. If any of my pictures don't turn out it's do to my error.I play around with the different features all the time.I stopped using the flash on the camera and purchased the Maxxum flash 3500xi.I highly recommend this flash. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Dissatisfied
I am an avid amateur photographer that needed a compact camera for vacations.I have always used manual focus SLR's so I was totally unfamiliar with auto anything. In making a decision on my purchase, I tried to stick with brand names.I was familiar with Canon products in the SLR arena and was always quite pleased. However, not wanting to put my eggs in one basket, I chose Minolta.WHAT A MISTAKE.The camera worked well for the first 3 months, taking brilliant color photos. After that it was down hill quickly. The camera would auto-advance the film went it felt like it, Would double and even triple expose frames, overlap frames, etc.I changed batteries, film types, and film brands in hopes of fixing the situation but none worked. In speaking with Minolta service center representatives Ilearned that the cost of even estimating the repairs was (...)not very cost effective.Turns out this is just an expensive disposable camera.I think I'll stick to Canon from now on.

1-0 out of 5 stars I'll never buy another Minolta products again.
Bought this camera around September. The first roll of film came out great. About halfway through the second roll I turned the camera on and the zoom came all the way out and the lights flashed etc. I returned the camera for repair and Minolta repaired it under warranty, great. Went through 2 rolls of film for Christmas, all blurry. Returned camera to Minolta explainingg the problem and they send me an estimate for $61.00 to fix it, saying that I dropped it. I can buy a new camera for that price. I'll never buy another Minolta product.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the price
This camera has a lot going for it. It's easy to use, easy to understand, and easy to buy film and batteries for. I bought this camera as a gift for my sister and took a test roll of film with it. The pictures came back sharp and the flash worked perfectly. The only thing keeping this camera from getting 5/5 is it's minimum focus distance, about 6 feet. ... Read more

Take your digital photography to a new level with the feature-packed and easy-to-use DiMAGE S304, which features a high-image-quality 3.34-megapixel 1.125-inch CCD. An all-glass lens, 7.15-28mm (35-140mm in 35mm equivalents), with 4X optical zoom, sets this camera apart from the competition with a combination rarely found in compact digital formats. An anomalous dispersion element and twin double-sided aspheric elements work together to minimize chromatic aberrations and reduce curvilinear distortion, giving you crisp, accurate, edge-to-edge imaging. Compose these images with the 1.8-inch, 122,000-pixel color LCD monitor or use the optical viewfinder for SLR-style shooting.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Dimage S3043.2M
I had the EXACT same experience as the Feb. 16 2004 reviewer! The only difference is that my Dimage had to be sent back to the factory straight from the box because it was filled with fine lint like particles. It NEVER has worked properly.....I will never purchase a Minolta anything! ever! and I'll tell all my friends....

1-0 out of 5 stars Good Camera(if/when it works!)
Had this camera for a little over a year and it's a piece of junk. From day one it has never worked right. At least 90% of the time it locks up when I turn it on; the red LED light stays on and I have to open the battery door for thirty seconds to reset the camera.Sometimes when I change modes it locks up.I have no confidence that it will work when I turn it on. When it does "boot up" correctly I jump for joy (is this how it's suppose to be?).This thing also uses a lot of power, my 1800ma NiMh batteries (4 AA) only lasts about 25 pics at medium resolution and small image size. It's a shame because this camera is constructed well (metal case), takes terrific pictures (when it works), zoom is great, LCD screen is very clear for it's size, uses easy to get CompactFlash cards and batteries. It's out of warranty right now and I don't think it's worth trying to repair so it'll get tossed into the rubbish can; what a waste!Maybe I just got a lemon when I bought it but I will never buy another Minolta digital camera again, this S304 really tarnished Minolta's reputation in my books.I won't tell everyone "don't buy it"......it's up to you, maybe you won't get a lemon like I did.

3-0 out of 5 stars a mediocre product for such a price. excellent if cheap.
The Minolta s304 is a fine camera if you can get it for significantly less than it's current retail price. The 3.3 megapixel resolution makes for some excellent daylight shots, and the 60 second movie recorder renders superb quality avi files. However, the camera suffers excessively from camera shake in low-light conditions. In addition, the manual setting for taking shots is difficult to manipulate...even for the intermediate level photographer. Night-time shots suffer from imbalance in color levelsRead more

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid this camera
After two accidents with Olympus Stylus cameras (not the camera's fault, but my kids), I went to Target to purchase yet another one (the third in six months). The clerk recommended this Minolta - all of the same features of my Olympus, but it didn't have the slide front that can often become damaged on the Olympus.I went for it, and I've regretted it ever since.Every time I put my eye up to the viewfinder to take a picture something is wrong.I have to put the camera down and look through it once again to get a green "ready" light.Otherwise, it won't let you take the picture.Once you take a picture, you have to wait at least 30 seconds before taking another.I have missed so many good shots. This one is going on Ebay, and I'm switching back to Olympus!
