EOS IXLite vs EOS IX
Bought a EOS IX lite originally - had lousy pictures - was going to give up on the APS system - but then saw on EBAY the EOS IX( not lite )and gave that a try - WOW! the difference is incredible.The pictures were sharp and clear -my advice is to NOT buy the EOS IX lite but rather find an old EOS IX -you will not be sorry.

Dont listen to bargain bob
I'm not quite sure what Bargain Bob is talking about, but he describes thin unit (and a film scanner) as the poor mans digital camera.With the price of the camera plus the scanner, you could purchase a very nice didgtal camera, so don't fall into that trap.If you want film, buy a film camera, if you want digital, but a digital camera...don't just get a scanner. ... i would recommend this camera to everyone..it's such a great camera and i've had it for 5 years atleast! dropped it a couple times but still worked good.

Great Camera, Great Quality
I've had my Elph APS camera for 3 or 4 years now, and I love it!It takes high quality pictures, the APS film is easy to load, and it has lasted me year after year.I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a simple, quality camera - I'm even looking into purchasing an Elph Digital camera, based on my experience with this Elph APS.

Best of all
Talk about bang for your buck. This camera has everything you'd expect from a mid-range camera and some you usually only find on high-end cameras. The eye control focus works great though you do need to calibrate it many times in different lighting conditions. The controls are well placed and easy to use. The custom functions are relatively simple to set and allow you to customize how the camera operates. Functions like the true mirror lock-up and the 4 fps advance speed help place this camera securely in the top ranks of its class. The thing that surprised me the most was the near silent operation. Even on rewind you can only hear it if you place your ear near the body (unless of course you choose to rewind at the faster speed). Of course there are options I'd love to see added like a PC cable port and an interchangeable focusing screen but thats why there are pro class cameras. Like I said before, this camera is hard to beat for the price.

Died after 2.5 years
Till yesterday I was all praises for this camera and would have given 5 stars. Its got the features for a beginner to reach a serious amature role with low cost. Well yesterday it died on me. I have had the camera for 2.5 years and shot probably around 100 rolls with it.

Great for people with vision problems
While I tend to prefer the Elph line myself, this camera fills a nichethat's often overlooked.Anyone who's tried to look through a cameraviewfinder and had to squint, or just gave up and tried to aim it lookingover the top will appreciate this camera.The viewfinder is huge, and thecamera is easy to use.I think both kids and the older population wouldappreciate this feature.Sadly, it doesn't use APS film, which comes in aneasy-load canister and would be better for people with vision difficultiesor arthritis, but I guess the people at the camera store could reload itfor them when they brought in the roll to have it developed.All in all, agreat product for a specific market.

I bought the model which also has date printing(but is about $10 more). This camera is pretty decent, but I think that it is a bit expensive considering there is no zoom, or date printing. I definitely recommendSureshot Owl Date camera model. Keep in mind that this camera is for themost basic of camera users. The larger viewfinder is definitely a neatidea. Probably the best point-and-shoot film camera [4 1/2 Stars]
I got this camera two weeks ago as a gift. Almost exactly what I wanted: lightweight and small enough to fit my pocket. The plusses are:
No major flaws, but not recommended.
The 90u is a decent camera. It is very light, but with that being said, it also feels very cheap. The buttons and controls also feel cheap. The camera does what it is supposed to do - just like what any other point and shoot camera would do. However, at this price, I feel there are cameras out there with higher build quality, lens quality, and feel. No major flaws, but not recommended.

Don't buy this camera.
Bought this camera in August /September(for a gift). Didn't use it for a month and a half.Icouldn't get camera to work. Called Canon, wouldn't replace it, kept getting a flashing "H" Got no warranty, Canon said it was a "diaognostic malfunction"No satification at all.Very unhappy about this purchase ... Read more

excellent camera
I've owned my Elan IIe for about 4 years, and love it.Although it's been upgraded to the Elan 7e, I see no need.The IIe has such distinct features and ease of use, I haven't used another camera that compares.Excellent construction, and very durable.

Nice camera, good system
The Elan II benefits from Canon�s EOS system�s advantages, like great lenses and speedlites. I�ve been using this camera to photograph from wildlife (mainly macro) to rock concerts (28-105 sigma lenses) and have been pleased to find that this camera really meets my needs. It�s fast, reliable and obbeys your commands, even if you tell them with your eyes! :) great quirky confusing
I've been taking 35mm pictures for 35 years, and this is my favorite camera so far. I shot a couple of hundred rolls of film with this and it really feels like an extension of my vision. The light metering is sophisticated and usually does a great job even in tricky situations, the optical quality of the 28-105 Canon lens is stunning, and the frame is sturdy and durable. Inexpensive fun camera for students and shutterbugs
I had been using digital cameras for about four years (including my current Canon Digital Rebel) before deciding to attend a photo class at a junior college to improve my skills. The class needed a film camera, so I got the least expensive film SLR that Canon makes, which is this Rebel GII. Although it's pretty simplistic, it's more than enough for both students and shutterbugs.

Great little camera
I got this camera in 1998 at a flea market for $30, the guy said he never put a battery in it, so he didnt' even know if it worked, so I was possibly buying a camera that didn't even work.I decided to try it. Mine Broke!
After 18 months of treating this camera like gold and being reasonably satisfied with the quality of the images (as long as they weren't enlarged), one day it just stopped working with the lens partially extended, frozen in place. All the repair shops want $100 to fix it. For $100 I could buy a new one. It was cute while it lasted, but I've bought a Yashica T4 (the original - not the awful zoom remake with the same name) instead. It's not nearly as small, but this elph is just too fragile.

LOVED it! -- while it lasted...
I received my Elph as a gift in 1999.Shortly afterward I took it on vacation.It was so easy to use; I could switch film while riding a bike!I got just about to the end of the third roll of film when the "dreaded H" reared its ugly head.Following the manual's advice, I took out the battery, replaced it, and... it rewound/exposed the whole roll.Since it was under warranty, we took it to the camera shop to have it repaired.The owner told us he got this problem with Elphs a lot, and if we had this problem again, we'd be better off purchasing a new, different camera than paying to have it fixed. Great Camera - It Has Changed My Life!!
I received this camera as a gift and it is just fantastic!I have experienced the dreaded 'H' problem twice, but only during the first couple of times I changed a roll of film. I did not lose any pictures, and it has not happenend since. It's a good camera.
It's three and a half inches wide and one inch deep.It has no shutter speed at all. The flash will break easy. Ours broke when it wouldn`t come out and we pulled to hard and it broke and all that it does is stays open no matter what. At some stores it it comes with a camera strap. It takes really good photos too. The zoom lens go as far as 24-48mm. When you press the silver button two lights go on right by the view finder witch are colored orange and green. A good thing is that you get to choose if you want to put the titel or the date on the photo. Its a good camera buy it! ... Read more

don't bother with this camera
This camera is a piece of crap!I had a Nikon many years ago that I foolishly sold, for this more "Easy to use" Sure Shot.It should be called the Sure Sucks.Red eye everywhere even when the function is turned on, and the "auto focus" when shooting indoors in low light is terrible.This "hold button halfway down, then wait for the light, then shoot" garbage is ridiculous in today's technology.I am selling this as quickly as I can and am truly disappointed in the Canon name- which I trusted when I bought this camera.

I bought this camera because it had what I was looking for ~ good price, date, came with case and battery, Canon reputation.I was disappointed with the results.I shot 2 rolls of Fuji 400 film through the camera.Faces were washed out when the flash was used. Red eye did NOT work.Outdoor pictures were ok in color but not very sharp. Moved on to the Pentax 120mi and very glad I did! ... Read more
