2-0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware
We bought this camera last October....It is small and compact which is a major plus.I have noticed that 80% of the pictures I have taken, have the red eye.We just recently went on a cruise, and the camera does not take very good quality pictures inside a comedy club with decent lighting... the people moving around were blurry.Lastly, when I went to power on the camera yesterday, it makes an awful noise, and then the screen blinks the canon logo, then goes black with an E18 error.I contacted Canon, and its not covered by warranty, and the repair will cost more than the camera did new. They claim that it was due improper use or mishandling. The camera went dead while it was on, and the shutter is left extended... Recharged the battery, and now the shutter will not go back in... and thats MISUSE?I will never buy another Canon ever...which is why Im at Amazon.com right now to purchase a new camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Point and Shoot for the Price
I've used this camera in some of the worst conditions you can imagine. Being deployed to Iraq, I've used this in 20 Degree to 130 Degree heat, sandstorms, being banged around, etc.
5-0 out of 5 stars So so portable.....
Had the SD20 for nine months. The portability is the best. So small and lightweight. Friends are amazed at the quality of my pics including some close up Macro pics taken from 2 inches away. Great for reviewing pictures through the TV and just delete if you don't like them.

Canon's new consumer-oriented digital camera, the A20, is a great 2-megapixel point-and-shoot. The 3x optical zoom lens includes an aspherical element to help reduce distortion and provide clarity. The built-in flash provides red-eye reduction, fill, night, auto, and off modes. While aimed at the consumer crowd, the A20 also features exposure compensation controls between +/- 2 EV in one-third increments. 5-0 out of 5 stars A Work Horse
The Canon PowerShort is a workhorse of a digital camera.I have had mine for 4 or 5 years and taken thousands upon thousands of pictures. The camera has never failed that I remember.

5-0 out of 5 stars Older Canon digital camera the A20
I just purchased another Canon A20.This one was used.I use them in my business to photograph houses.I have 2 currentlybeing used and this will be the third.I have purchased other digitals, Fuji, Pentax, Nikkon, and even the newer Canon 510.
4-0 out of 5 stars out of date now
I have been using this little camera regularly since march 2002 when I traded in my Canon EOS SLR (yeah I know but I wasn't using it enough - digitals are so much more convenient). Now I know what digi cameras are all about i'm ready to upgrade to a G5 or something similar. The A20 is fine for most situations but my main gripe is that it cannot cope when there is little detail in the subject; a plain background will produce an almost watercolour result. Where there is a lot happening the results are sharp enough. Batteries run down quickly but I always carry spares. The flash is inadequate. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Please Dont buy this!!!!
My dad got this camera free about a year ago. I finally learned how to step the camera up. I had to read the whole manual to do so. So far this camera has been horrible. It takes forever to focus, and the batteries run out after one day. If you have pets or small children this camera is not for you, because it takes to long to take pictures. ALso this camera comes with 2 MP. SO you can only hold up to 8-10 pictures at once.
1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Camera
I got this camera for my birthday, and boy was I dissappointed with it. Every time I turned it on it said change the batteries. I changed the batteries and nothing happened. So I returned it and got the same one(I though mine was defective.) It had the same problem! So I returned it again and got the same one. The same problem!!!! But this time I got it to work for a minute. I took 2 or 3 pictures. The Digital zoom on it is terrible. I would advise you not to buy this camera. Dont waste your money. Buy the A40 instead.

2-0 out of 5 stars Recycle time stinks! Choose something else...
Overall, the A200 takes decent pictures. I've used the included software to send pictures via email, and I use an HP Photo printer when I want to print out pictures. Unfortunately, I have finally gotten tired of the S-L-O-W recycle time - that is, it takes forever for the flash to recharge and the lens to refocus after taking a previous photo. Groups posing for pictures have literally gotten up and said, "Forget it!" while waiting for my camera to finally take another picture. It is very frustrating! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality rugged camera
Everyone wrote enough about it, so I will only add that this camera worked much better than expected for quite a long time, until during last trip, I dropped it really hard on cement. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera... Digital Elph's are great...
I purchased the S330 a couple years ago, and I love it. I have taken it everywhere and taken almost 1,000 pics with it. I purchased the 128MB card and have yet to fill the card. I have not had any problems and it has been the best camera I've ever had. So much in fact, everyone who sees it wants one and is very impressed. 4-0 out of 5 stars Great work horse before you reach for your slr.
Good camera, easy to use, handy.Limited flash, and don't try to use an aux flash. The unit flashes 2x, to determine the correct exposure, thus firing an aux flash, and when the exposure flash is firing, the aux isn't.Anyone found a solution?

5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera, easy to use!
This camera is great! It is compact and easy to use.It has a rechargeable battery which lasts quite a while on a charge too. Takes about an hour to recharge. 2-0 out of 5 stars Loved it for 18 months
It worked great for nearly a year. A loose connection was fixed under warranty. At 18 months it died with an E18 error. The lens will not move in or out when turned on and then it beep and displays 'E18' on the display. We were on vacation so I replaced it with an A95. It's the only camera available at Best Buys that still uses CF memory cards. Hopefully Canon has the E18 issue resolved.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice
I love this camera.I have so much fun with it and the pictures are great. It is easy to use and the movie feature with sound is a blast!I bought a 3.2 megapixel for my daughter and she loves it as well!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Beware the infamous E18 error
I purchased this camera almost 2 years ago. 6 months ago, it displayed the first occurence of the E18 error (problem in the lens mechanism), but recovered. It did that again last week and could not recover. Both times, it happened when I was on vacation. Search the web for E18 and you'll know what I mean. So, now I have a useless paperweight not worth spending money to get repaired. Now I will go for another canon, but an older model with a digital-only zoom, for 2 reasons a) the optical zoom on the A60 has give me enough grief, b)to keep using my 2 CF cards, since the latest cameras do not accept CF cards. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Point and Shoot
I have owned mine for over two years now and I would have to say that it has performed up to every task I have asked of it.The cameras size was important to me and this camera fits well in a pair of khakis or cargo shorts.Things that are a must buy are the kit with charger and at least a 64 MB CF card, I have a 64 and a 128.I love that fact that I can display pictures on the TV with the cables provided.Make editing away from home much easier. Also I bought a second battery and carrying case. All these thing have ensured me of lots of photo ops. This camera does not perform well at sporting events or in low light, but any time the flash goes of it works great.Canon has better software on-line than what came with the camera.Worth every cent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Item
We are currently stationed in Misawa Japan. I bought this camera for my fathers birthday so we can e-mail pictures back and forth of family and my son.The quality is great, and its picture quality when I go to print it out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect All-Around Shooter
It's outdated & unavailable new but I still think the Canon A-series line is the best balance of features, ease of use, & price.
2-0 out of 5 stars Great... til it died!
My Canon Powershot A40 was also the most user friendly piece of technology I'd ever used until it died.Same deal as everyone else I guess. The thing will turn on but something inside no longer opens as the screen remains blank.Don't bother upgrading as all Canon cameras are pretty much similar. My sister-in-law's A75, which is 6 months old, just died of the same cause.

2-0 out of 5 stars Beware: Lens Motor Life Span Is Short
The Canon A40 is simple to operate and takes decent images with its 2 megapixel/3x zoom features. It's compatible with a Macintosh OS/X and the digital imaging edit software is easy to use. After six months, the lens jammed and the camera did not function properly.I mailed the camera back to Canon for repair and less than six months later, the lens broke again while I was changing batteries.I googled the Canon A40 and learned that other consumers have experienced the same lens jam problem with their Canon A40.If you buy it, be sure to read the warranty details and have the 800-number ready to call.Good luck. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best camera for the price
I bought this camera six months ago for my 12 year old daughter. It was her (and ours) first digital camera.I read so many reviews prior to selecting this model. The reviews for this camera were so helpful. This camera has been so easy to use and it takes excellent pictures.Rechargeable batteries are definitely a must! This camera is the best camera for this price, no doubt about it.We have taken still shots and videos. It is so fun to have the option to take a video. We have some great clips. All I can say is we are so happy with the camera. We would definitely choose it again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good deal
Good camera for the $129 I paid. Does everything pretty well, and your picture modes are pretty customizable. Only qualm is it takes a second or two longer than I wish when the camera saves/loads pictures to the memory card. 2-0 out of 5 stars too many blurry photos
I have two of these cameras, the silver one and the bronze. The bronze one takes blurry photos 50% of the time.I thought it was defective. Now the silver one takes blurry photos also. Piece of crap! I guess the shutter speed is too slow. There is no way to adjust any settings on the Menu to prevent this.Skip this camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Canon SD10Thumbs Up
I love this camera
3-0 out of 5 stars Small and decent, but no longer a good buy
I bought this when it first came out a couple of years ago.At the time it was the smallest 4MP out there, and since my goal was to go "small," i decided that i could live without an optical zoom. While it served me well, I will tell anyone now that we all need optical zoom.Photographic quality is good, though there are sometimes too much chromatic aberration (color fringing).Focus indoors can be slow or impossible, even with flash turned on.

3-0 out of 5 stars Beware of the flash
I find that this is a great camera for taking pictures outside. However, while inside, the camera is pretty useless unless you're a foot away from your subject. In fact, the camera tends to work better in full darkness rather than in partial light. Often I find myself having to carry a disposable camera with me which I use for inside or nighttime pictures. Also, the flash cannot be turned off...I've tried. If you do manage to turn it off, the camera refuses to focus and your pictures come out blurry. In conclusion, spend the few extra dollars to buy a camera with a better flash...you'll appreciate it in the long run.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent picture quality, but drains batterys.
I bought this camera, and the batterys included only lasted about 10 minutes (cheap ones; regular ones last about an hour). But the picture queality is very good, and they turn out clear. I find it easy to use, except for the fact that when you turn it on, the flash is set to the on position always.

4-0 out of 5 stars good quality photos and features for the price!
...at 1.2 megapixels...i first thought the picture image taken would not be so clear...as my previous digital camera was a 2.1 hewlett packard...but to my surprise...this camera actually produced a clearer and more realistic photo than the h.p.....the skin tone came out very natural looking...the built in flash is also surprisingly strong enough to take a picture in pitch black and yet not too bright for normal portrait photos...Read more
