5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera, houses great Canon lenses.
For its time and price (at the time), a fantastic camera.6.3 MP is more than sufficient for most amateur and semi-pro (non-studio) work, and this camera works very well with what really matters:Canon's fantastic lenses.Battery life on this camera is very good. The "shutter lag" (between when you depress the button and when the camera actually takes a photo) is fairly well non-existent, and the only real lag I have is when I am shooting multiple photos in RAW format. As most photographers know, the lens is almost more important than the body, and outside of Leica lenses, I don't think anything really competes with Canon's line. The 18-55 lens that comes with this camera is sufficient for casual work...I used it at the beach, and on hikes with my dog, when I don't want to lug around my bigger, more expensive, higher-quality lenses. But for $75 or so, you can have a 50mm 1.8 EOS lens, which will supplement the 18-55 nicely, particularly for night photography.
5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE, LOVE, LOVEthis camera
I have had this camera a little over a year and I still can't put it down. It is wonderful. I have two little boys on the move and this camera takes their picture with hardly any delay. Just snap and go. I bought my dad the XP in March and he loves it too.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not bad for first time DSLR buyers but seriously lacking in several areas
I have had this camera since Jan '05 and have so far taken approximately 10,000 shots while on trips and at weddings.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice camera, but weak battery door is a design flaw
I've had this camera for about a year and really like its performance. It's great on batteries (2-AA) and the features are extensive. Unfortunately, it suffers from Weak Battery Door Design syndrome, depending on a small plastic catch to retain both the batteries and the media card. My camera finally bit the dust on a trip to Sweden, when it fell from a car seat about two feet to the ground. The battery door catch broke and now it can't be used unless you hold the door closed with a clamp or really strong tape.If they had only designed the door as well as the rest of the camera-- in metal --I'm sure it would still be working fine.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great camera
This is my first experience with digital cameras.
5-0 out of 5 stars What's NOT in the box...
This camera is a very nice product. The size is small, only a bit thicker than a Canon S410/S500. And though it is not as cute as the more popular and thinner Casio models, the price is a lot less and it uses stardard AA rechargeable batteries, which can be a big plus in certain situations.

5-0 out of 5 stars good camera for the money
I have been a digital camera owner since the 640x480 days when digi cams were the size of bricks, and now i have one that's small as a deck of cards...the sd300.i've had it for almost a year now, and it keeps on kicking.I read all of the reviews about the cracked LCD screens and all, but i took my chances anyways...and quite frankly, the screen itself has taken a beating from me, it's all scratched up from being in my pocket, banging around with my keys and coins, etc.i applied a thin screen protector and it fixes the cosmetic blemishes (and added scratch glare from sunlight) due to the scratches.picture quality is awesome, i've made large prints at costco and they look immaculate.I use a 512MB SD card which is able to hold around 200 pictures in "superfine" 4.0 megapixel mode (there are 3 modes for each of the 4 available resolutions; coarse, fine, and superfine).
2-0 out of 5 stars LCD screen cracked.
I had this camera for about a month and the first time it broke, I don't know why it broke. I set it down and when I turned it back on, it had cracked. I then bought another LCD screen and repaired it myself, but two weeks later, I had a CASE for it, and put it in my purse. I carried my purse around and had not set my purse down. When I took it out, it had cracked again. I would not recommend getting this camera.

4-0 out of 5 stars lcd cracked

by Panasonic
Electronics
list price: $599.99
Asin: B000BR12IQ

Editorial Review

Equipped with a 5-megapixel CCD sensor, the remanufactured Panasonic DMC-FZ20lK delivers a wide range of detail and color with images as precise as 2,560 x 1,920 pixels--enough information to make photo-quality prints up to 13 by 17 inches. The digital camera is also outfitted with a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 12x zoom lens, which combines comfortably small size with superb image rendering, and is further enhanced by a 4x digital zoom, which gives users the equivalent of a 48x zoom lens in a compact body. Images taken with the 12x zoom lens are crisp and impressive, but users should note that the digital zoom degrades picture quality.Read more

Like most of Canon's PowerShot line, the G1 is designed to deliver great looking images with minimal fuss. While the other PowerShot models are obsessed with stuffing a quality camera into the smallest possible package, the G1 focuses on features, usability, and image quality before size. We're not saying it's a large camera--in fact, it's smaller than most manufacturers' compact models--but it's still a substantial jump in size from a Digital Elph.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This camera is more than 99% of photographers need
I looked forever for a new camera to replace my pentax EI-200, which works perfectly fine, but I wanted a new one. I bought a G1 used for @300 dollars based upon exhaustive research. 3mp, fold out lcd screen, unlimited manual control(lots of modes +full manual and manual focus), raw format(better and smaller than tiff) attracted me. What really turned out to be great was the battery life(lasts a long long time), remote, picture quality, the screen is fantastic- I don't know how I did without it. With photoshop and an epson printer, why spend hundreds more on a tiny no featured camera with more megapixels than you would ever need? why spend hours downloading pics so you can print only 3x5's or 5x7's. This prints beautiful 8x10's. You don't need more. Movie's with sound too.5-0 out of 5 stars The all-in-one that won't let you down.
Beyond the fact that this camera has accomplished everything it set out to do, the powershot G1 is just the pinnacle of camera technology bundled into a package that most middle market people can afford. 5-0 out of 5 stars The best so far
This camera is very SHARP,exposure is great, color is great, the only problem is the internal flash(little bit too flat),but if you use canon external flashes, every thing will beGREAT!Read more

Good camera for the $129 I paid. Does everything pretty well, and your picture modes are pretty customizable. 4-0 out of 5 stars BE VERY CAREFULL OF THE SLIDING COVER!
I actually own the SD30 which is the 3.2MP which is our very first DC. I got it for the birth of my daughter and has captured all her milestones but sadly after 3 1/2 years the sliding cover for the lens gave out and the lens isstuck and so the camera would not operate anymore. The cost of having it repaired in a Canon service center in IL is as much as buying a new one so I am just looking to buying a newer model (still a Canon of course) Canon has proven a name in the world of photography by the quality of pictures you to take with their camera.

4-0 out of 5 stars ood stable camera
I like the fact that the camera uses compact flash. The compact flash cards come in sizes up to 4G so that is nice.
5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful pictures and few drawbacks
I've had the camera for a few months now and it's my first.I knew almost nothing about how to use a camera like this, and it does have A LOT of customization options.I did use the manual for the first day or so, but playing with it gave me the most knowledge.

4-0 out of 5 stars SMALL RESERVATIONS
This was my first digital camera and was selected primarily for it's wide angle lens which I find more usefull. The lens quality could be better, but seems to be available only in a more expensive SLR. No manual included with the ARCSOFT PHOTO STUDIO software. You can download this free from the web site (http://www.arcsoft.com/support/downloads).
5-0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Camera
Even though I'm not a professional photographer, working in the film industry has made photography a very serious hobby of mine. I originally bought the Canon S50, which I was very happy with. However a defective part led me to send my camera back to Canon, who replaced it with the S60 over a year ago. This is a wonderful camera for people who are serious about photography but not yet ready to purchase a digital SLR. It takes great images with a very respectable mega pixel rate. What I love about this camera is you have the option of manually controlling every aspect of your shot when it really counts (shutter speed, focus, F-stop, etc.), or if your at a party, set it to auto and it becomes a point-and-shoot, easy enough for even your most inebriated friend to take snapshots. The best of both worlds! A good, near professional quality, camera at a good price.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very good for the price these days
I've had my camera for about 5 years now, I think it takes great pictures overall. Redeye is a problem I've noticed like some of the other owners, even if you have redeye reduction turned on it's still a problem. Aside from the redeye problem with flash, it takes incredible daylight photos. Bright, colorful, amazingly clear with alot of nice manual modes and auto mode is also very good. Very durable also, I've dropped my camera many times and it keeps on working.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!! perfect
I have been using it for 5 years now. never had any problem... Night results are not very very good though, you just need to keep camera still if you want to get them perfect.
3-0 out of 5 stars Nice but not so perfect
My S30 did all it was expected to do as far as imaging resolution and photo quality was concerned.

2-0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware
We bought this camera last October....It is small and compact which is a major plus.I have noticed that 80% of the pictures I have taken, have the red eye.We just recently went on a cruise, and the camera does not take very good quality pictures inside a comedy club with decent lighting... the people moving around were blurry.Lastly, when I went to power on the camera yesterday, it makes an awful noise, and then the screen blinks the canon logo, then goes black with an E18 error.I contacted Canon, and its not covered by warranty, and the repair will cost more than the camera did new. They claim that it was due improper use or mishandling. The camera went dead while it was on, and the shutter is left extended... Recharged the battery, and now the shutter will not go back in... and thats MISUSE?I will never buy another Canon ever...which is why Im at Amazon.com right now to purchase a new camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Point and Shoot for the Price
I've used this camera in some of the worst conditions you can imagine. Being deployed to Iraq, I've used this in 20 Degree to 130 Degree heat, sandstorms, being banged around, etc.
5-0 out of 5 stars So so portable.....
Had the SD20 for nine months. The portability is the best. So small and lightweight. Friends are amazed at the quality of my pics including some close up Macro pics taken from 2 inches away. Great for reviewing pictures through the TV and just delete if you don't like them.

5-0 out of 5 stars a good pocket camera
I brought this camera some time back and I have not regretted it. I was Just looking for a digital camera only, no voice, no movie, just something to take pictures and this camera at the price and resolution was pretty good. The pictures and resolution are great and the camera sturdy I also brought a 1 gig card for it and together they make a unstoppable pair almost 400 pics at high resolution, WOW! excellent! I think fo a shutter bug like my self. It will also print directly to printer or I can copy the images directly from it on my computer with out any additional software.

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing for its price
This camera has probably the best and more solid metallic case I've ever seen. The quality of the materials used is incredible for a medium range camera. The 2" screen (huge) on the back is a little bit grainy, but it's very fast and with an high refresh rate. The software on the camera is pretty good, highly customizable, but as another user already pointed out, there is no way to change the shutter time. You MUST use a tripod if taking pictures during the night (if you're using bestshot and without the flash), and they're a little bit grainy too, but pictures taken during the day are just awesome (real 6MP); there is also the choice for taking "widescreen" pictures (3:2) and I love that!
4-0 out of 5 stars Good camera for daytime photos; not so good for night photos
This is a compact camera with solid metal construction.Startup times and shutter lag are extremely fast for a digital camera.Daytime and flash pictures are excellent.Macro pictures of flowers are pretty sharp.I'm also happy that the camera runs on AA batteries. Low light focusing is very good.Nightime pictures illuminated by street lights are okay when the camera automatically chooses a shutter speed of 1/8 sec and ISO of 250.However, anything darker than that requires the use of the nighttime scene best shot mode.Under nighttime scene best shot mode, the camera chooses a shutter speed greater than 1/8 sec.Often it may chose between 2-4 seconds, which means that one absolutely needs a tripod to avoid image blur caused by camera shake. It would have been nice if the camera offered manual control of the shutter and aperature settings because I can take reasonably shake-free photos up to a shutter speed of 1/2 sec and sometimes I don't want the camera to automatically chose a shutter speed longer than I think is necessary.Another annoyance is that the noise reduction system takes on average about ten seconds to process long exposure pictures. I suppose this frustration made me to return the camera and get a Canon A85 camera with manual controls instead even though the Canon A85 operates slower than the Casio QV-R62. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars too many blurry photos
I have two of these cameras, the silver one and the bronze. The bronze one takes blurry photos 50% of the time.I thought it was defective. Now the silver one takes blurry photos also. Piece of crap! I guess the shutter speed is too slow. There is no way to adjust any settings on the Menu to prevent this.Skip this camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Canon SD10Thumbs Up
I love this camera
3-0 out of 5 stars Small and decent, but no longer a good buy
I bought this when it first came out a couple of years ago.At the time it was the smallest 4MP out there, and since my goal was to go "small," i decided that i could live without an optical zoom. While it served me well, I will tell anyone now that we all need optical zoom.Photographic quality is good, though there are sometimes too much chromatic aberration (color fringing).Focus indoors can be slow or impossible, even with flash turned on.

Editorial Review

Replacing the popular PowerShot A400, the PowerShot A410 has a bold new design and incorporates improved operability and performance through DIGIC II processing, and a 3.2x optical zoom with maximum aperture of f2.8-f5.1. It is housed in a smaller, more compact and robust body.
