4-0 out of 5 stars Kodak EasyShare
I have enjoyed using. Instructions are easy to follow and accurate. Product works to my satisfaction.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Value
Some months ago i bought a 5mp samsung and decided to buy also a cheaper one as a spair camera that would also fit for an every-day use. I chose the kodak cx6200, and couldn't be happier with my decision.
3-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy if it's going to be used for an adult
Its amazingly simple, but image quality is worse than the old time mavicas. So buy it for your kids, and save for something like Casio Exilim or Nikon over 4 MP. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good...at first.
I bought this camera in November of '05 for the approaching holiday season. In the beginning I LOVED it.It was small, took good pictures and handled well.As time went on it developed some minor issues. At times when I would turn it off, the lens would not retract completely. I just brushed it off as being typical electronic malfunction. This was until it completely stopped working this summer. At first the lens would not retract at all and then the camera would power on and off right away.I sent it in, as it was under warranty, thankfully the repair was covered and I received it back with the minor glitch of the lens still not retracting properly.I chalked up to be wear and tear and continued to use because the camera work fine otherwise.(Note: Kodak charges you $35 when you send in a camera for return shipping if the camera repair is not eligible as a warranty repair. You can also choose to have them repair it, but it will cost $35 shipping and handling plus the cost of the repair.)
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera
This camera is so easy to use no more pushing 5 buttons until you get the right one this does it all I did not read the manual and used it right out of the box.So much easier than my Nikon that takes hours to learn.
4-0 out of 5 stars Miss view finder
The camera takes great pictures but I cannot see the screen to take a picture when I am outdoors. There is too much reflection.

4-0 out of 5 stars Taking pictures in nightclubs
i find this camara very good for taking photos in dark places such as outdoor dance events and nightclubs.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Beginners Camera
This is probably a good beginners camera, but no where near 35 mm quality. Even up close. pictures came out, out of focus when using zoom and flash.

5-0 out of 5 stars The big surprise
The performance of this little camera was a big surprise to me.I purchased it because it was not machine spacific and I have an I Mac... Also the price was right. This camera is great. You don't need some expensive camera for your pictures.. I use it indoors to take pictures of my art work and out ofdoors for reference pictures and I'm never disapointed. The software that comes with it is so user friendly, you do not have to figure anything out. The photos can be transfered from the Kodak software to Adobe Photoshop or any other image software also.I also shared the camera with a friend who has a PC and still very compatible.Get the docking station so you do not need to buy batteries but call Kodak for recharging info.It takes at least 2 days of on and offthe docking station to really have the batteries charged and there is no printed info to tell you this. ... Kodak's LS420 represents something new in the world of digital cameras--it's the first quality ultracompact aimed directly at the point-and-shoot crowd. 5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!!
I have had this camera for almost 3 years and I love it. The camera is so easy to use and all you have to do is push a button on the dock and your pictures are loaded into your computer. I have had so many compliments on it too, because it's so small and convenient. The only thing bad is when using the zoom option, the pictures come out a little blurred. Overall, it was a great purchase!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for money
This has been an excellent purchase. While expensive at the time (euro 500), it has paid off multiple times due to its quality, flexible portability tx to size and pouch and ability to shoot video. Ideally, there would be no need to rely on finding a socket for the dock to download pictures onto computer and there would be no need to send it in for servicing twice ( and now, a third time) due to malfunctioning screen and slot of the extra-memory card. So long as I find no replacement ( why are cameras getting BIGGER these days?), I am happy to stick with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bought this ...Camera! Kodak LS 420
I bought this camera 4 months ago. It is great. The pictures are crisp and the mpeg movie mode is pretty good too. The thing I love about this camera is that is small and you can put it in your pocket and not feel your lugging a camera around. I use it for family and work. No complaints at all.. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Battery Life is Very Poor
The Kodak DX3600 would be a very nice camera except that battery life is very poor. I'm lucky to get 8 pictures before the batteries go dead (I use rechargeable batteries with the Easy Share dock, and AA Alkalines).[...] Kodak is aware of the problem. Here is their response to my query about poor battery life...
1-0 out of 5 stars Trouble from the start
First - I do have to say that the camera is relatively easy to use and takes very nice pictures. However, the battery life with this camera has been problematic since the first day that we received it. We have used several different batteries, as well as different battery chargers in an effort to rule out other problems. But this camera continued to be a problem. Eventually replaced with a Sony DSC-P93 - and haven't looked back since. Glad to be rid of this camera - very frustrating when you are trying to use a product to record your family's memories, and constantly run into problems with a quirky camera...

4-0 out of 5 stars Kodak DX 3600 a trustworthy camera...
I've had a kodak DX 3600 camera now for about 2 years.I have found that the quality of pictures has been excellent and the video mode is brilliant, as few digital cameras offer video with sound being recorded too.At the start i had battery problems and problems with it powering down unexpectedly but it was sent back to Kodak and it was a faulty connection between the power section and main part of the camera, since then i have had little problems with power, like all didgital cameras they do go through batteries but just be sure to have enough charged up, and the dock it comes withhandily charges the batteries. At 2.2 mega pixels i have found it brilliant, there is brilliant image quality for what i'm using it for and it doesn't take up alot of hard drive space, with the average photo taking up about 400Kb on the best picture quality setting.I would reccemmend this camera. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Compact, Quick, Excellent Photos
This camera is a small compact camera that at this date (11/02) is not as feature rich as some of the newer cameras, but is still an excellent workhorse. I have had mine for about 18 months and liked it so well I gave my sister one last year for christmas. She had no end of frustation with trying to load film to take a quick picture.4-0 out of 5 stars A great camera for what it is - a quality point & shoot
The camera has been discontinued by Kodak, but are still available as refurbished models. A great camera for what is is. I am a professional photographer who does large format photography and needed a foolproof camera for my wife, who is confused by complex camera settings. The DC3800 does that beautifully - at a cheap price. Even though the model is now two years old, the picture quality meets cameras sold today for twice its ... price used or refurbished. Why buy features you do not need?3-0 out of 5 stars A very nice small camera...you can do better for the money.
Bottom line:I really like this camera. Its small enough to go anywhere and sturdy enough to take a beating. The TV feature is nice for sharing family pictures on my big screen television, and a lot of fun.The USB reader really helps the novice transfer the pictures to the PC, its completely painless.I like that you can take pictures without the flash and they turn out very nice -especially inside museums/acquariums.The quality of the pictures is awesome, very good color and very clear.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars The Dock is a hassle
Since purchasing this camera as a Christmas present for my family, the Dock has never worked right. The camera doesn't sit right in it and doesn't charge. The power cord from the Dock to the wall only works on certain outlets.I'd rate the camera better if I actually used it more than twice, but its rechargeable battery is always dead.I can't tell which features are good or not.I'm disappointed and spent almost $200 for the bundled items.

3-0 out of 5 stars Camera Seems Good, Dock Does Not Function Well
I received my camera today, apparently I got a used one, as the packages were taped shut. I made a 30 second video, worked fine, using the non-rechargeable batteries, then they discharged completely. I put in the Rechargeables and set it on the dock, the green light came on, within a few seconds, all the redlights came on. I checked all the possible issues listed in the manual and replaced the camera on the dock several times; with the SAME results.Camera seems to work fine when it has charged batteries, or while on the dock, but I cannot use it right now unless it is on the dock, as the rechargeables won't recharge and the other batteries are totally discharged. Seemed like a nice little camera and I thought it was a Kodak, but it does say MADE IN CHINA once you look it over GOOD. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to work something out with the seller on getting one of the NEW ones he advertised, or just return this USED one; and go with an Olympus maybe. Cannot comment on computer capatibility, software or prints as I didn't get that far. What a shame, things started out well for the first 15 min. or so!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
I bought this camera after returning an hp 3.2. This camera is so much more than I imagined. I am so happy with this camera. It takes better pics at 2.0 than the hp took at 3.2. The camera dock is wonderful and so easy to use. I love knowing that it is charging all the time and I dont have to wait til the rechargeables wear out before recharging them again. For the price, this is an awesome camera!! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Think twice!
The good news: My DX3600 camera worked beautifully for a few months. The bad news: Then it developed what Kodak calls "power problems." The rechargeable batteries do not hold a charge. The disposable batteries do not operate the camera consistently. The camera turns itself off immediately after turning on (and sometimes won't turn on at all). I've talked with many other users who have this problem, and I believe it is a defect of this model. Kodak charges very high fees (over $100) for even minor repairs when the warranty has expired, so I cannot afford to get the camera fixed. I am going to stomp on my DX3600 (just for petty satisfaction) and toss it into the trash, then buy a new digital camera from a different manufacturer. I have no confidence that this problem would not recur with other models from the same maker, so I'm going to look farther afield. I wish someone had told me about this defect before I bought my DX3600 two years ago--I've missed many great shots due to the "power problem." Please do yourself a favor and think twice (better yet, three times) before you purchase this model!

1-0 out of 5 stars Lots of problems!!!
When we first got the camera, we were impressed. It was easy to use, and the pictures that we took printed out very nicely.5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera
I have this camera about two years. I love it because it takes great pictures. The quality of the picture is just great. It has 2.2 MP but it takes the sharper photos than other camera that has 3.1 MP. It uses less memory to have 2.2 MP photos versus 3.1 MP. And the smaller size of the photos make you easier to send to friend and family via email.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Oh my...
I've had this camera for... 3 years now. It was great at first. My very first digital camera, and I'm glad it was this one. But, gosh.. if you look at this camera now from when it came out, it's complete crap!
5-0 out of 5 stars Very happy with this camera
I bought this camera about a year and a half ago when it just came out.At the time, it was the cheapest offering an optical zoom, which is what I was looking for.The optical zoom works out nicely - it makes the camera have an effective 30-60mm lense, which is nice for distance shots. This camera does take some time to get to know and use properly, but once you have enough experience with it, you can get some good pictures (like through a microscope eyepiece - it was amazing). The outdoor shots are amazing, especially in terms of color reproduction.Indoor shots are variable, but it does take good low-light photos with the flash off, but the flash OK, just gets some colors a little wrong sometimes. The battery life is short, so you will need rechargeable batteries (these were well worth the investment, as acceptable batteries are $... a pair, while rechargeables+charger=$...).As for the camera dock, I think it is the stupidest thing ever and invented just to get more money out of people - YOU DO NOT NEED THE CAMERA DOCK (I avoided purchasing it).I don't even use the included software, I just copy pictures over. The LCD screen is a bit hard to see sometimes, and MMC cards are finally getting more common (I have ~160 megs of cards now, and took pictures for a month in europe on them).Overall, definitely worth the money, especially after I got used to it.And again, it is very very good at outdoor photos.

3-0 out of 5 stars A mistake
A nice camera, but that is all, very basic, great outdoor day shots, very poor inside or night shots, where a flash is required. Recommend spend more (wish I had) and get something that can take more acceptable photographs inside where light is not as good as outside. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple to Use Even A Child Could Figure Out How
I am not a professional photographer and never will be.My life is very active and I needed a camera that is simple to use.If you are looking for a camera that will take beautiful pictures and not have to read the whole manual before to do it, this is the camera for you!The menu is very easy to use and it is a great point and shoot camera if you don't want to mess with changing everything. This camera has been used sometimes daily because I also list on Ebay. The 4.0 megapixels really give it that extra boost in quality pic taking.I also have the Kodak DC3400 and this was an upgrade. Both cameras are great!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Solid Camera
This is a good solid camera.I dropped it on the gravel (with the lens open) right off the bat, but other than a small ding and some scratches, the camera still works great! The picture quality is excellent and it's easy to use.The one button dock is super easy to use and charges the batteries at the same time. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star rating is because few of the pictures taken at school functions have not turned out well at all - those pictures are dark and fuzzy.I think it has something to do with the red-eye setting on the flash, since that's the only time we have used that funtion and all other times the pictures are generally very high quality - some are incredible. We bought a 128MB memory card at the same time, which is definately the way to go - we have only filled it up once and had to use the 8mb card that came with it for additional pictures.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice Camera,affordable price...charger problems..
Great camera when it comes to photos or price but the international charger does not work up to expectation. It like a conventional charger does not completely charge the battery, rather it switches off just after 10 minutes or so and you gotta manually start it up again (for another 10 minutes...) . The manual mentions that slowly this 10 min thing will increase....but what the hell!!Read more

Editorial Review

The Kodak DC-240 offers high-quality resolution and professional imaging features in a simple, compact package. This digital camera has one of the most user-friendly interfaces we've seen--instead of cryptic menu text, it offers a colorful, easy-to-understand menu in plain English. We especially liked the fact that all the buttons--and even the outputs and inputs--are clearly labeled, something that other cameras sometimes lack.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Only wish they still made them like this...
This was my first and only digital camera that I purchased as a display item will I was working at CompUSA. If I remember correctly, at the time this camera was over $300 but I got it for $50.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great for first time Digital Camera users!
The main aspect of this camera is it's user friendlieness. It has a basic design, and easy for capture & review. This was my second, and i couldn't stand it. You had to go through file after file to get them onto the computer. With this camera, it iss hard at first, but after you do it once, you can't froget, like riding a bike! Although it isn't the most technological and it doesn't have super excellent quality, it is perfect for the everyday user. I hope you enjoy it like i did!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great and easy camera
The Kodak DC240 is a very user-friendly camera that gets wonderful pictures. For a point and shoot camera you can't do better, in my opinion. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worlds best camera!
If I had to be stuck with one camera, this one would be it. I've owned it for a year and it's fantastic! What do you want for $150? This is a steal. It takes better pix than my friend's and family's cameras that are 2-3x more expensive.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not what your looking for?
this camera may look pretty but i dont like it one bit. I got this camera last summer before i went on a trip to ohio. At first i thought it was great but now ive totally changed my mind. This camera has bad image quality and is not reliable. It also has an extremely bad zoom and its horribly slow. Its already breaking too. Ive had this camera less than a year and im ready to get a new one. So please- if you are looking to purchase a good quality camera- dont but this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dependable!
I bought this camera from amazon.com two years ago and it's been nothing but reliable. It's simple to use and packed with features - other favorable reviews are dead on - but my story is about its sturdiness.Today, I accidentally dropped it from a balcony 12 feet high onto concrete paving, and thought it was gone for sure. One of the prong hinges for the battery door broke, the door itself separated from the camera, and the casing came open on one side.I was able to pop the casing closed with a screwdriver, and reattach the battery door (half a hinge seems to be sufficient). The mechanisms and electronics still work *perfectly*.Optical zoom, automatic lens cover, flash, everything. It's incredible. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Just an update
I have had this for over 2 years now and I still love it. The camera part is great fun, though low resolution is noticable in prints, prints look good.I upgraded to a 128 mb card which holds about 1.5 hours of music or 900 photos or 45 minutes of video. The best thing about this is it's TOUGH. I have dropped it numerous times, it has gone flying off of my desk. Sometimes the card pops out and the batteries always scatter, but it is always fine. It works just like the day I got it. Although there is one thing that I did not like. When Realplayer updated Jukebox, they did not upgrade the drivers for MC3. I eventually was not able to transfer files to the unit, so I bought a CF card reader. It works amazingly fast and lets me transfer my files through Windows Media Player. It now works like a charm, I would recommend this for anyone who uses Windows XP. If you can get a card reader, don't install the included software!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not quite up to speed
Ok, repeatedly people state its a toy, and yes it is, I bought it for my son, and he uses it to listen to mp3's and take an occasional happy snap. As far as it goes it's ok doing that. No it doesn't have a flash, so obviously you aren't going to try and take pics in subdued lighting. The movies are ok, low quality, but enough to have some fun with.4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but not for serious use
I bought one of these after they stopped making them (somehow I got a brand new one), and was pleased with the camera. It uses a non-backlit display and this increases battery life dramatically. There are quite a few options for altering sound, so MP3 playback is great. The camera and video recorder both record at surprisingly high quality. This isn't a camera I'd use on a vacation, but something I bought just for on the go and fun daily use.The device can also be used as a webcam, which is fun.If you can find a brand new one (careful, many sell refurbished), then I'd say go ahead and buy it for under $100. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars best/simplest camera around...
i've had this camera for approx. 3 years. very simple to use! can hand it over to a friend and give min. instructions on how to use it. it's tough as nails; have dropped it off cliffs, in the pool, off the top of the barn and even lost it in the snow, in a lake, the goat chewed on it...:) still going great. never any troubles. replaced batteries once the whole time; (use it many times a week).sure wish they still made it. how many cameras can live thru all that this one has gone thru and still survive?

4-0 out of 5 stars Good value and lots of fun! Not for hi-grade photos, though.
I bought this camera mostly to play around with and to be able to email simple and impulsive photos.I really like this little camera. If you're looking for quality photographs you're not going to find it unless you go to at least 2-3 megapixels.Digital cameras are not to the point of getting high quality images for pocket change just yet.Capturing images on film is much simpler than with electronics (you can take film pictures with a shoe box with a pinhole in it if you know what you're doing).I say all that to emphasize that this is probably one of the best deals you will find in an inexpensive digital camera.I found the camera simple to operate (although I've not really used the software since I already have photo editing software). Some of the pictures may not look so great when you first download them, but a few simple clicks usually balances light, color and sharpness to decent levels (I have also held blue a filter in front of the lens when shooting to balance incandescent indoor lighting with very good results). When I email images, I usually size them down to 400x300 or 320x240 and they look even better.I have only had the camera a short while and it has been a lot of fun and has delivered some suprizingly good pictures (and a lot of junk ones, too, so shoot in volume - it's cheap!).The one thing that is a little disappointing is the distortion -- usually it's unnoticable or insignificant; sometimes it's bad.Like any fixed focus camera (the manual focus is only for web cam operation) don't expect to get close up.If you're looking for a cheap thrill this is your camera. This camera is not fancy, but it does what it says it does.If you're looking for a camera to do high quality pictures, close-up work, or capture once-in-a-lifetime shots then you need to be willing to fork out some cash on a digital camera (I couldn't find a digital that would approach what I would want for less than $300; personally, I will wait till I can get what is now a $500-700 camera). If you're going to be an uptight perfectionist (like I am with my 35mm SLR), you will be frustrated with this camera. If you want to hang loose and have some fun for cheap, then you need this camera! It's great!

Kodak created the combination DX3500 digital camera and dock with ease of use in mind. 2-0 out of 5 stars very average camera
I bought this camera 3 years back and its a plain simple point and shoot camera with a fixed lens and you cant adjust anything. It has no optical zoom, no video recording, etc. but thats what you pay for. Picture wise the camera shoots beautifully and the colours come out really nice and natural. Its flash is pretty bad with flash shots coming out dark. I have taken decent 6x4 prints even with the lower resolution. The power on/off switch is really horrible and flimsy. It broke after few months of use and I had to get it repaired. After that my computer never recognises the camera and I have to use a card reader to transfer photos.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not Satisfied
At the moment i am very tired, having spent 6 hours trying to update thesoftware to the new Easy share. I have had nothing but trouble since updating to Easy share. I owned a Dx3500 and thena DX3600, whichI was satisfied with until I upgraded the PC to Windows XP. Now I have the latest Kodak LS753, and the software CD included will not install and even when i down load from the net I get a message saying that there is an error. I have checked for virus, turned off all programs etc. and still noluck. I havenever hadsuch problems and I will be certainly returning to the shop with the camera and exchanging it, and I will be lettingeveryone know the problems. I feel so angry that I have wasted so much time.

3-0 out of 5 stars Kodak camera
I bought the Kodak camera and the dock for my wife for Christmas two years ago. It is easy to operate and to load the pics into the camera, but as other reviewers have stated it uses a lot of power. The docking system seems to help to keep the batteries charged. A minor annoyance is that sometimes the shutter does not open when I turn on the camera. I give it a few good whacks with my hand and it will open. Not high tech, but it works. My friend's camera did the same thing and Kodak, with some prodding, fixed it for a modest fee.My wife uses it for work and in general it is a rugged camera.I may upgrade in the future, but for now I will keep it. ...
