5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera for the price I paid
I like the quality of the pictures and the many features all packed into a very small, yet sturdy camera.Despite the camera's small size the viewing area of the screen is large enough to clearly view your shot. This is my first digital camera but it is very easy to use and understand with advanced features I can "grow into".

2-0 out of 5 stars Eats batteries, totally unreliable in cool temperatures, does not save date.
This little camera does fine in warm/hot temperatures and has great picture quality, but runs through batteries at an unbelievable pace. Also, you're lucky if you can get 3 or more pictures if the ambient temperature is below 40 degrees. Another annoying feature that I wish I had known about is that there is no memory battery, meaning that everytime you change the main batteries (which is quite frequently) the camera totally resets and you have to set the date all over again. This is a pain. All that being said, I took this camera on a trip to Taiwan recently and I was very pleased with the pictures it produced. It's not the best, and could be improved in several ways, but it's not the worst 5MP camera out there either, especially for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Important for first time digital camera buyers!
Do NOT use AA batteries! Even on the reviews where people have given this camera 5 stars, they've commented on battery life. I repeat, do NOT use AA batteries, not even if they're rechargeable. Instead, take $15 and make an investment in a couple of CRV3 batteries (don't quote me... I'm not 100% positive if that's the right collection of letters and numbers for the type of battery I'm referring to, do your research). The CRV3's are like 2 AAs in one and are Li-ion (Lithium Ion) batteries, unlike your typical alkaline AAs. A two pack of CRV3s will cost you around $15, but are well worth it, especially since you've already or are planning to make a several hundred dollar investment in a digital camera. Not to mention the fact that youwill quickly go through $15 worth of AAs if you don't take this advice. But do not get the new rechargeable CRV3's... there have been reports of the batteries having power surges that have damaged cameras. The battery life is infinitely longer on these batteries because these are the batteries built for taking the kind of abuse digital camera's (and other high end equipment) put them through. I've been using my Vivicam V3935 constantly for the past month or so with my first CRV3 battery, and the battery indicator on the camera is still full.

1-0 out of 5 stars vivitardigital camera
I was never able to use it. It was brand new when I bought. The dawn thing just turned on/off when it wanted to. I quest this was a bad experience. Good luck to who bought this same model camera.

4-0 out of 5 stars My recent purchase of XD card
the card works great. Good quality for the price.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great 1st digital camera
My daughter just turned 10 but has always expressed an interest in photography. I have a very good digital camera and have let her take a few pictures with it in the past, and although she takes a great picture, I always worry about her dropping my camera and smashining it to peices. I decided to buy her a digital camera for her 10th birthday because she is very responsible, but I didn't want to pay a lot of money because after all she is only 10. I was suprised at how good the quailty of the pictures were, plus it is so easy to use...in fact, my daughter read the instructions by herself and actually set it up with no help. I also like the fact that it takes regular batteries, because with kids they never tell you something needs recharging until it is too late. The 3.3 mp is great because at the age of 10 I don't think we will blow up pictures larger than 8x10, and the quailty is still great. One downside is it is a little heavier than I thought it would be, but on the plus side, at least it won't be easy to lose. (It's not really heavy, but in today's world where everything is downsized, it is not the size of a micro-chip either). I was annoyed with 35mm cameras where I spent so much money on developing pictures, and not even knowing what I was in for until after I paid for developing. Sometimes my daughter would find a pretty rock she liked and she would snap away. With a digital camera, not only do I have the option to download only the pictures we like, but I also have the option to delete pictures that didn't turn out well. Overall, this is a great 1st camera and I would even buy it to have as a spare 2nd camera. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera, Low Battery Life
This is a great camera. The picture quality is excellent and the camera itself has a cool design. It also has a nice TFT LCD screen and a joystick. Unfortunately the battery life is very low. With the screen, the battery life is only 10-15 minutes! Without the screen, the battery life is about 15-30 minutes.

1-0 out of 5 stars The CameraUnreliable
I purchased the camera from HSN.com after watching the impressive demonstration.I it worked well at first.I added 256 MB flashcard and it got very quirkey.I sent it back and they replaced it with the same result.I used a different smaller flashcard and it worked OK for a short while. Then it started having problems capturing the shot. The shots would be fuzzy or completely black if they did register having taken. This is a camera I would advise everyone to keep away from based on my experience.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera !!!
If you're looking to print upto 5"x7" pictures, this is a great camera.Takes very good pictures.I have mine for a year now.Always reliable.Just get a photo editing and organizing software, and rechargable batteries, and you're good to go.

1-0 out of 5 stars A basic throw away digital camera
My father bought 3 of these cameras in April 2004 and only one works periodically. They eat batteries as do all digital cameras so make sure you have plenty on hand if you don't buy rechargable batteries. The cameras all worked so awesome for the first few months.I used mine the most and it was the first to die.The pictures start coming out blurry and then sometimes the camera would turn on and then shut off or would not come on at all.I lost the screen on the top first and then the lcd screen went wacky.I have pictures of my newborn stuck in the camera and am unable to retrieve them.If you want to spend $100.00-$189.00 on a throw away digital camera then this one is for you!!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the money.
This cam is basically what you pay for. It is great as a travel cam and that is why I bought it. It does have 4X zoom, and will record short movie clips. The 16MB onboard memory is a little small, but it will take a SD up to 512MB that will store 509 2304 x 1728 high res pics. It will go through batteries, especially when using the flash. I have NiCads (rechargeables) so I don't have to deal with the waste or expense of disposable batteries. I paid about $85 for mine and am very happy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than expected
For the price you pay, this is a good little point and shoot. The camera, upon turning it on, does have a 4X digital zoom, as well as a good flash, however the camera is not overly userly friendly but not hard to figure out at all.A good investment for a first, or a travel camera.

1-0 out of 5 stars Camera not as described.
First of all, the camera I purchased did not match the product description on amazon.com.The package says it is the Vivitar Vivicam 4100, but its missing some features. The sticker on the camera says its only 2x zoom not 4x and there is no AC/DC charger (which was the main reason I chose this camera over others).Plus, the flash doesn't work. What a let down. I know the camera is inexpensive, but at least the camera should have the features that it states it has. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a bargain!!!
Having been an Olympus buff since my first digi in 2001 I was wary of switching brands to the up and comer in the digital world Vivitar, particularily because some of thier lower end cameras got some dreadful reviews (as lower end cameras often will!).
3-0 out of 5 stars Improvements Could Be Made
This camera is my first digital camera. As a camera, it does okay.I carry it around with me everywhere so I won't miss any of those "Kodak moments"It's nice to have a digital camera in general.I don't feel like I'm wasting film taking silly pictures; I'm much more likely to just go wild with my picture taking. On the other hand, I think that there are certain things about this particular camera that aren't up to par.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good camera for the money
This camera is good enough, I bought a 128MB SD wich made it even better. The pictures I take with it are nice, one just have to be aware of the resolution range, the one resolution you'll need for a specific shot, if you learn to go on with this, pictures are gonna come out fine. I would like that this camera had audio for video recording, but I think can't ask too much. For you folks who are scared about this camera eating batteries just buy rechargeable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great little camera for a great price!
I was very pleased with this little camera. It takes really nice pictures. Also, being a person who hates reading directions, the camera was pretty much self-explainatory.I just loaded the software and I was off!The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because it eats through batteries like they are going out of style.Other than that, this camera is perfect for the price!

1-0 out of 5 stars Cheap

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Purchase
I bought this camera on-line during January 2006 and discovered it to be slightly bulkier than I expected. It's definitely not something you could carry around with you in your trouser pocket. On initial inspection everything seems in a reasonably intuitive position. The menus are on a simple up down left right curser and once set most options that you might want to change depending on your environment are on marked buttons on the outside. Mine came with a 64meg SD card which I quickly swapped for a 256 meg card which should enable me to store hundreds of photos at a reasonable resolution.

3-0 out of 5 stars Quality Photos, Inexpensive Price, Decent Camera
Yes, this camera eats batteries quickly. However, rechargables help remedy this issue dramatically. The best feature of this camera is the price; you def get a lot for what you pay for.The worst feature of this camera is either the flash taking 15 - 45 seconds to recharge (due to batteries and poor design) or having to reset the time/date AND personal camera settings every time you open the battery compartment (including to swap SD cards).
5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great camera!
I've had this camera for 2 years now and I love it. Unfortunately, I loaned it to someone who dropped it. It still works but now it won't hold the SD card. I use this camera for business and I have to be able to take a lot of pictures at once, so I'm looking to buy another just like it.
2-0 out of 5 stars BATTERY EATING MONSTER
This thing eats batteries, it can literally go through a set of 2AA batteries in 15 pictures or less. 1-0 out of 5 stars What terrible pictures!
I bought this camera for my daughter for Christmas. While I wasn't expecting the quality that I get from my 2 MP Kodak digital camera, I at least thought they would be disposable-camera quality. These pictures aren't even e-mail quality. I'm a fairly decent photographer, and I couldn't make a clear picture. It's too bad. The camera is great-looking and extremely easy to use. I should have bought my daughter disposable cameras until she was old enough to handle an expensive camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars good little camera for the price
My 9-year-old received this for Christmas. It is so easy to use that she mastered it in a day without reading the instruction book.I haven't installed the software because you don't need it to load photos into your computer and e-mail.just attach the USB cord. It's that simple.Don't expect real high-quality images with just 2 mp, but it's pretty good for snapshots. It's nice and small, comes with a light blue beaded strap and a silver padded case, and feels pretty solid, too. ... Blurry pictures, flash broke immediately, still under warranty but to send it in to get fixed will take six weeks and I have to pay for the shipping. I will never buy another Vivitar product> EVER!

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disgusted!
This camera was a gift for my son.The display is too dark to see the person/item you are trying to photograph. The pics come out totally dark.We have tried every setting possible to add more light, and no luck!I have a fugi with the same amount of megapixels and it takes perfect pics!I tried to contact vivitar to ask for help, and received no response. My son is so upset!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Vivitar 3750 Has No Optical Zoom
Last summer I was searching for a camera to snap pictures of my trip overseas and I came across the Vivicam 3750 on this website. I quickly bought the camera and used it non-stop over the following month. Recently, I wondered how the Vivicam compares with some new cameras in the same price range. After a few minutes of searching I decided that the Kodak Easyshare camera is a close comparison to the Vivicam as I compared the internal memory, photo quality, the type of lens, and eventually the camera's price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
This is a great camera for a teenager or novice! Clear pictures and great design. 5 stars all the way.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for the price
Nice digital camera with 3x optical zoom for the price. 1.6 inch LCD view helps with image composition and is viewable even in full sun. 2 megapixel maximum resolution is fine for most uses and generates file sizes that are small enough for email. Video capability depends on the size of the SD card you have. Most digitcal cameras limit videos to 30 or 60 seconds but this Vivitar will take video up to the limit of memory.
3-0 out of 5 stars My first digital and I was thrilled...but
I tried the Vivicam 2.0 for a week and must admit it eats batteries fast! But from what I'm hearing, that seems to be the case with all digital cameras. I solved that issue by buying a Duracell 1hr charger and an extra pack of rechargeable AA's.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Battery Eater
This is an okay camera for your first one, but it is a battery eater!..After about 20 pictures with flash, you need to change the batteries.Maybe I am naive but come on!Also...the flash stinks. You need there to be a LOT of light in the room to even make out an object and this is WITH the flash.Without it is just as bad.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this camera.
I wish I had bought instant lottery tickets with the money I spent on this camera. It takes horrible photos and takes a long time to do so. I would sell it if it wouldn't give me tremendous guilt. I think I'll throw it off of something very tall.

1-0 out of 5 stars do not buy this product if you expect any customer service
I bought the camera three weeks ago and it was fine, i know have a problem with it, it comes on but will not do anything.it acts like a computer that has locked up, after 9 calls later someone finally called me back from vivitar and explained to me that they could fix it for $80.?.? i asked about the warranty and they continued with the plastic case was underwarranty...(...) ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Value for money, but a compromise
In all, a value-for-money camera, but not without weaknesses.Bought in Australia on 18 May 2004 for 30% less than the already discounted price of the other camera considered, the Fuji FinePix S5000.I had previous experience with a Kodak DX4330 (all auto 3.1MP) and did some comparative shots with the Kodak and the Vivitar.5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera
This camera in wonderful no problems at all excellent quality pictures. Easy to use.5-0 out of 5 stars 3755 Vivitar so far so good.....
After finally getting it (Thank You J&R Music and Comp great service not like HSN booooo.. HSN....) New years eve, I think I have found the camera for me. Being short on money and wanting everything to be quality this is as close as it comes.....I have learned more about the tech in of shooting with a matter of ease with this camera.... I still use the auto mode alot but can gradually switch to many different settings when I want to challenge myself in manual or semi manual....It has it all....Great outdoor shots like the Canon A80,A70, and descent indoor shots....Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good camera until it stopped working.
At the time I bought this camera, it was the least expensive 2 MP digital I could find. It took clear crisp pictures and was easy to use until it stopped working exactly one year after I purchased it. The LCD screen went blank and it wouldn't snap any pictures even with fresh batteries. I called the customer service, told them that my 12 month warranty has just expired and they told me to send it to them anyway. I'll wait and see what happens.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good and [reasonable priced] entry-level camera
This is my second digital camera, and it didn't cover my expectations. I'm an advanced amateur on film photography, and the results with this digital camera were just acceptable. If you are planning to do some printing from your pictures, this camera won't be good enough, but if you gonna use it only for digital viewing and emailing, it'll be ok.5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT PRODUCT WITHVERSATILITY AT A GREATVALUE!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Loved this camera.
This was my first digital camera, back in 2002. I liked it cause it would take weird pictures that would make great photoshopped images. The image quality is ok, pretty decent I would say.
3-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for....
This is overall an "okay" camera. Yes, it has the auto shut off that gets annoying, yes, you really have to learn how to work it and how to do the settings right to get the quality of pictures you want. Yes, the menu is just way too long to go through to set up what you want. But the fact is, once you figure out how to do the settings correctly, you CAN get some very decent pictures from it. For the price of this camera, you cant ask for much more then that. I think its a good camera for those just getting in to digital cameras, and besides, if you can figure out how to work this camera properly, any other digital camera you ever get will be a breeze..lol. I used this camera for 2 years, I've gotten the pictures I've wanted out of it so it has made me happy. I've graduated now on to a much more expensive and way higher resolution camera from Kodak. Much more user friendly, and a much better camera all the way around. But I paid 4 times as much for it as I did the Vivicam. That leading to my point.. you get what you pay for. And for the price of the Vivicam.. you cant expect much better from it then what it gives.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best camera ever!!
