Pluses:3-0 out of 5 stars Apparently not all GC-QX3's are alike
The GC-QX3 is my only digital camera, so I don't have much of a comparison, but I am not thrilled. It takes beautiful pictures outdoors in the bright sunlight, but it completely falls apart in low light situations. The auto mode is essentially worthless indoors. At least half the time the camera gets the white balance wrong, and the pictures are all blue. I mean REALLY blue, unfixably blue. Flash pictures, in addition to being blue, are usually severely under exposed. Even though this camera has three different sensitivities, it always takes auto mode flash pictures at the lowest sensitivity (ASA 80 equivalent). I have completely given up trying to use the camera indoors in auto mode. I set white balance, sensitivity and exposure manually. This is a real pain if I am in a point and shoot situation, and even then, I never really know what I am going to get. The display on the back is nice for previews, but it is worthless for judging picture quality.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars There are better designs available...
This was our first digital camera and we were excited to unpack it on Christmas morning, but never warmed up to this one.It has a nice feel and theoretically, a nice design, but many of the features didn't match the documentation and didn't work the way they were supposed to, until three months later, the entire system just died.Fortunately, we purchased the camera from Dillards.com, and their excellent customer service allowed us to return the camera for a full refund, but we won't replace it with another JVC.The camera has some nutty little quirks, such as a warning not to turn the camera on with the lens cap on the lens, or you'll risk serious damage to the lens mechanism.Sounds like a definite design flaw, doesn't it?JVC makes great audio equipment, but buy your camera from a manufacturer known for cameras!Good luck!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera!
I bought this camera while I was on a ship supporting "Operation Enduring Freedom", I wouldn't have anything else ever! I have never been disappointed with it ever. it can only use up to 64 Meg memory and using the lowest resolution it gives you 690 pictures to take. it comes with a 8 meg card so you can take 84 pictures.

1-0 out of 5 stars Only Lasted one year
I purchased this camera exactly one year ago last week and the LCD screen went out.I called the local JVC repair and was told that it would be around 400.00 to repair(way not worth it).The pictures were decent while it lasted but I did not like the design and it was difficult to use. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Camera!
Fabulous camera, quite technical to use, but the automatic setting works flawlessly. One drawback is the short lifespan of the battery, but it does recharge quickly and you can use the ac cord. Another bonus is the attachment to take old negatives and scan them to digital images.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb in it's class..
Takes 3.3 pixel. The one thing I like about this digi cam, the ordinary 35mm film can be reproduce to digital quality using the included software and accessories that came with this camera5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent home digital camera!
