Canon no longer offers this so you are either buying one that has been on the shelf for awhile, a refurbished one or a used one.

goes through toner like there's no tomorrow
we use this copier in a dental office 3 days a week and with normal usage it goes through $132 cartridges of toner in about 45 days-even when it is on it's "toner saver" setting. that's a lot of toner and money.spend a little more on your copier, because what little you save at first, you end up spending over and over and over again every 45 days. ... Missing high cost items.
The printer, contrary to Amazon.com representation does NOT come with a starter print cartridge.If you want to use the printer, you will have to pay for a cartridge before you can test it out.The printer cannot be used on a lan connection without first purchasing a very expensive print router sold by Canon.The cost of the cartridge and router exceed the cost of the printer/copier. good buy
After fighting for several years with all in one printer/fax/copier machines, I decided to buy seperate components to do these specific jobs. The Canon PC430 was my choice as a copier and I amd very pleased with it. I does it's job very well for small business use with small to moderate copy jobs. It's a simple machine and compact enough to fit on the desktop. The set up is easy. The copies are perfect reproductions of the originals. No frills just does the job it's designed to do.

PC 140 is fine copier
I received the PC 140 copier in good time and am enjoying it.The toner cartridge was not very good however, but I've ordered a new one.It was too soft, not good blacks.

Canon PC980 Copier
I have had several Canon copiers over the years.
Stay away from this turkey!!!!!!
Purchased one in Feb, 2002 - since that time it has gone to 2 repair centers, in the last 7 weeks I have had 4 replacement "refurbished" copiers.None has been able to do more than ONE copy at a time.So much for their "30 page automatic feed".Canon will do nothing more than continue to send out another turkey with the same problem.With 9 months still left on the warranty, I am buying a Brother copier.No more Canon products for me! ... Great copier
Have had mine for about 3 years.(...)It also came with s starter toner cartridge.Copies as soon as you turn it on, no warm up necessary.Copies come out very well.
Incomplete Product
This product sold in retail stores contains a starter printer cartrige. The product you sell does not and to buy one it cost more than the printer.I returned it.On a positive note the return process was quite easy except for the packaging materials which cost me $15 because I damahed the origional materials opening the shipment.

Be aware - cartridge is not included!
Personal Copier may be good, but without a toner cartridge useless. New Canon cartridge will cost you another $80 ($40 for a refill)

FANTASTIC photo printer
After a tremendous amount of research, I bought this printer for my parents and was SO impressed with it that I was sad to leave it at their house!The picture quality is phenomenal (and I have seen dozens of different methods of producing prints), and the colors are truer to life than some of even my studio prints of the same pictures (I tried it by printing some copies of my wedding pictures).The copy feature does just a beautiful a job as the print feature does, and it's a BREEZE to use and set up.If it's not clear in the description, this machine also makes prints from negatives and those old-school slides (from the '70s?), which is unheard of in a home printer in all my research.Finally (and MOST importantly) the print cartridges are truly cheap to purchase: it costs around $9 to buy any of the colors, and the cartridge lasts for a while even after printing 100 or so pictures.My parents absolutely love it.If you're looking for an all-in-one and want a good photo printer, do not look any further.

It is a very nice Printer / Copier
Thanks to the other comments, I was able to order a toner cartridge online at the same time I purchased this item and both the printer and cartridge showed up at the same time in (2 days). So far I am very pleased with the purchase, and I am not easily pleased. It copies and prints very clear. The copies are better than the original. I purchase a remanufactured machine at 129.00. My only concern is the warranty, besides the 90 day limited warranty, you are not offered the option to purchase a extend warranty, why not? If it is suppose to be as good as new you would think they would warranty it. Even though I probably would not of purchased the warranty for a 129.00 dollar item, but it would be a little reassuring to know they do stand behind the condition of the product. I guess only time will tell. Besides that I am happy with the product, so far........

Suprised by quality
Got the copier about two months ago. Was at first leery of remanufactured product but being on a limited budget decided to try it. It is great! Please be sure to buy toner cartridge and printer cable. They are not included but because of the incredible price I would not have expected it! Enjoy!

Beautiful design, solid engineering
What a joy to own this copier! I just bought it, and making photocopies is no longer a time-consuming errand, it's a quick and simple in-office activity. The aspect I like best is the ability to make copies from books and other "three dimensional objects". It has no warm-up period, which means that Type-A people like me get instant results. The energy-saving auto-off feature turns the copier off automatically if it's been unused for 5 minutes. The laser output is crisp and more than adequate for making readable backup copies. It doesn't have any "fancy" features, such as zoom, collation, etc., but on the other hand I don't need those features. Moreover, the PC425 is compact (the trays fold up to free up surface space when the unit isn't being used), it's relatively lightweight (18 lbs), it comes with a built-in retractable carrying handle, and it appears to be solidly constructed. The copy speed of 4 ppm is sufficient for low-volume, occasional copying needs. The reproduction size is limited to 8.5 x 11, but I can't think of the last time I needed to make a legal-sized copy. I feel as though the PC425 was designed with my exact needs in mind! I give it 5 stars, which assumes it will provide years of trouble-free operation. Great home copier!
If you aren't looking for a volume printer, just one to make those misc copies at home, this printer fits the bill.I previously owned a Xerox personal copier that I had for many years and it died, and I figured that it would cost more to fix it than to just purchase a new one.Once you have a copier at home you can't do without, so I did quite an extensive search on the internet, and this was the cheapest that I found. The nicest feature is that you can turn it on and instantly make copies, because you don't have to wait for it to warmup....that's great for those single copies you want to quickly make on the run.I also like being able to make copies from books, which you can't make from your fax machine.The kids copy their chapters for homework and use those copies to travel with on weekends instead of dragging their entire load of books along.For ..., this printer is worth it.
