Great all around binoculars
I bought these mainly on recommendation from my astronomy professor that I should buy 10x50's for astronomy and for general use like bird watching. I shopped around a lot and tried several other brands including Nikon and some department store brands. Overall I think that these binos had much crisper focus than the others I have tried. My first impression out of the box was that they felt solid and well built. The optic coatings look consistent and they are multi-coated and phase coated even though they aren't advertised on Amazon as phase coated. The size is just right and water proof is a major plus for me.

Good Eyepiece, but can't use filters
Close inspection of the threads on the eyepiece revealed no damage, however non of my filters (orion, baader) will screw on to the threads. I own a number of other Celestron eyepieces, and all of my filters fit them just fine.Read more

The Absolute Minimum Starter Telescope
Celestron's 70 mm (2.75 inches)is the most basic beginning telescope one can buy. Here's why:

This is my second telescope. A great starter scope!
When this scope first arrived I was very pleased. It looked great and I couldn't wait to try it. I immediatly began setting it up, which was a difficult task. The instructions gave a photo that had tiny arrows pointing to different parts of the scope. [I still can't figure out what angle their photo was taken from.] The directions started out easy to follow, but later on it seemed that their writer had taken them from a guide-book on flowers found in the Sahara. I'm 14 though, and even I managed to use common sense to put the scope together.[It doesn't hurt to have a couple of magazines handy, such as Sky and Telescope or Astronomy.]Read more

OK for its price
This is very inexpensive and has a larger aperture than common 60mm refractors. However, both the telescope and the finderscope are somewhat wobbly, making it difficult to find objects. It is possible to use the 4mm eyepiece, but with much difficulty.

Good Field Scope

Celestron C65 Mini Mak Review,
Ill keep this simple and to the point, this is very possibly the worst spotting scope for the price. At 30x (minimum magnification) the image is not very clear and at 90x (maximum zoom) its pathetic and nearly unusable. I have a pair of Celestron 10-30x zoom 50mm binoculars that puts this spotter scope to complete shame in terms of clarity. I just purchased a 20-60x zoom spotter scope made by RedHead (name brand built by Bass Pro Shops) that makes the Mini-Mak look like a sick joke in terms of optics quality for an even cheaper price. The Mini-Mak is also virtualy worthless for night viewing and in comparison I have 2 other spotter scopes that I can even see the rings of Saturn and Jupiter with at night. I would strongly recommend finding a Maksutov-Cassegrain or straight type spotter scope of decent quality. Tasco, LOMO, Bushnell, RedHead, Barska, etc.. all make some very good designs for similiar prices or just slight higher. Bottom line, the Mini-Mak is a complete waste of money and should not even be considered. There are far better designs out there at very reasonable prices and some even include changeable 1.25" standard eye pieces.
