Better than a keyboard for piano playing, but not the best
The Casio Privia 400 is better than a keyboard for piano playng, but not the best in this price range if your main objective is to play piano on it.I don't own one, but I played one in a store.I was recently looking for a digital piano, but ended up getting the Yamaha P60 (which has been replaced by the P70, but there are still a few P60's out there).In my opinion (for piano playing), the Yamaha P60/70 has a better feel (the weighted keys seem much better on it) and a better piano sound.The Yamaha P60 is in this same price range (I paid $650.00 for the piano, stand, and bench). I personally also like the look of the P60 better (has a little more class to it).
I was disappointment of the sound.
I first came across Casio Privia series mode when I tried out a PX-110 model in a local store. I was amazed by both the sound and the action. At that time, I was looking an 88 key hammer action keyboard to replace my 61-key toy. The PX-110 doesn't have some of the features of my to-be-replaced keyboard (USB connection, memory for user songs etc.). So I searched the Internet for higher models and found px-400R. It appeared to be the perfect one to serve my purpose (it has the USB connection and all the other features). I'd say this is a beautiful piece with tons of nice features. I assumed that it sounds the same as the one I played in the store, read all the nice reviews here at Amazon.com, found a great deal from a local store and bought one. But soon found the sound was much worse. I went back to a local store and compared the two models side by side and confirmed my findings. Later I realized that PX-110, PX-310 and PX-700 from the Privia series used a new sound technology called "Tri-element ZPI". I was so disappointment of the sound that I packed it up and shipped it back to the store. I replaced it with a px-310 model, giving up the nice deal and a whole bunch of nice feature for the better sound.
Great buy, even if the title is a little misleading
This instrument is a really good-quality value for its price range.The sampled piano sounds are excellent, and all the other sounds are quite acceptable.I haven't explored all the extras, but there are plenty. Note that the "stand included" is the music stand, not a piano stand. ... Read more

I WOULD SUGGEST YOU SAVE THE CASH, AND AVOID A LOT OF GRIEF
Less than a year ago we purchased a pair of the Casio MA240's, also at a deep discount price that could not be published. Thesephones are just plain Junk! Costly yes, but still Junk. So "Put the credit card down and step away from the computer" Problems are many and they start early in the phones life. Problems such as > Volume gets lower and lower as time goes by. The number pad buttons either stick, or dont make any tones at all.Batteries lose all memory in a short period of time, and on top of that , it can bea little complicated to figure out many of the extra features.The best advice I can give you at this time is good luck finding a phone that will last more than a year as we have bought phones that range in price from 19.99 to 300.00 ( for pair) and they all seem to decay and stop functioning within a years time.We purchased our phones new, not reconditioned, and we surely never expected them to go bad, this quick.

Don't Buy, Even if Discounted
Now I know why the product was on sale, cheaper than the cost of a handset for the system.Range seemed OK although never really tested the full range of the unit.Speaker volume was decreased as previously noted.Battery life can be incredibly short.Truly annoying problem was that our other cordless phones seemed to malfunction periodically (never a problem previously), it would somehow misdial numbers constantly and we would have to revert to the other phones to complete the calls.Bought several of the systems and they are all going back.Should have checked out the reviews previously. ... poor choice
I purchased 12 of these units for my office and have had constant trouble with them. The customer service help number is worthless and don't see any option except looking for another phonesystem. The phones intercoms don't work and the sound quality is poor due to too much background noise picked up through the mouthpiece. Placing the caller on hold and transferring to another phone sometimes locks the phone line. These phones might be fine as stand alone but don't buy for multiple phone setup which they were supposedly designed for.

Buy it.
I have owned this keyboard for about six months, and although I'm extremely happy with it, there are a few drawbacks that anyone who is considering this keyboard should know about.So I'll try to make good as list as possible.
if you're looking for some quiet practice, this is it
i am a 16 piano lover, and i am lucky enough to own a beautiful piano.yet, that piano happens to be in the center of the house, much to my family's dislike.As i said, i love piano, and tend to practice a lot.This keyboard was perfect for those times when my dad had a headache, or my mom was trying to watch tv, of my sister was sleeping.The sound is beautiful, it's easy to use, and the headphones i bought in addition are wonderful.this keyboard has many additional aspects to it, although i haven't quiet figured them out...lol.the ones i use are the recording, where you can even store songs you've recorded (great for finding your trouble spots and wrong notes in pieces), and i also use the metronome.Also, it's a lot of fun to play around with the different sounds you can use, there's some really great ones.The display is very clear and displays the intrument largely. Almost my perfect camera
I love this camera. The swivel view screen works very well when you want to take pictures at an awkward angle. As a photographer, I really need that.
More than worth the price!!!
I ordered the SanDisk Ultra II 2.0 GB and I use Windows XP and at first, I followed the directions to a "T" and it just wasn't working. I searched the internet to see if anyone else was having the same problem. I went to the CASIO website and there wasn't any information about it. Finally . . . I got this weird idea in my head, that "What if I change the "USB" in the Set-up menu to "PTP" (PictBridge), maybe it might work." I seriously tried everything and I was crossing my fingers on this one. And honestly, from what I was reading, it seemed that SD card readers weren't working either, and I didn't want to have to fork out another $30-40 for one if I wasn't sure it was going to work.
No help from manufacturer!
I spent over $50.00 for a 512MB SD card for this camera, and it doesn't work!Tried several SD cards, and the camera will not work with them. It WILL work with an MMC card, however.Have emailed Casio 4 times and have not received a reply.I'm sending the camera back to them, and I'll go find a camera that actually works like they say it's supposed to! ... Great.......but............
This has been a great cut and print label maker. The only irritating part being the normal right mouse key function of cutting and pasting are disabled as long as the Casio drivers are active.
