4-0 out of 5 stars Some Important CONS you must be aware of
First off, let me make it clear that I am satisfied with this camera. I have had it for 8 months now and I have put it through its paces and its held up fine.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best camera for the price
I bought this camera six months ago for my 12 year old daughter. It was her (and ours) first digital camera.I read so many reviews prior to selecting this model. The reviews for this camera were so helpful. This camera has been so easy to use and it takes excellent pictures.Rechargeable batteries are definitely a must! This camera is the best camera for this price, no doubt about it.We have taken still shots and videos. It is so fun to have the option to take a video. We have some great clips. All I can say is we are so happy with the camera. We would definitely choose it again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good deal
Good camera for the $129 I paid. Does everything pretty well, and your picture modes are pretty customizable. Only qualm is it takes a second or two longer than I wish when the camera saves/loads pictures to the memory card. Might be a problem when trying to shoot consecutive pictures-- but probably wouldn't be doing it with this type of camera anyways. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Canon's 18x50 IS binoculars incorporate an optical image stabilizer for shake-free viewing and minimal eye fatigue. This technology was first developed for Canon video camcorders and is now available in many of Canon's binoculars. The system employs a Vari-Angle Prism, dual transparent plates, independent vertical and horizontal sensors, and a dedicated microprocessor to continuously adjust the prism to maintain a steady image. 3-0 out of 5 stars Great but has some design flaws costing another $350 in repair
Right out of the box, these binoculars, no doubt are one of the best pair of optics I have ever purchased. The Image Stabilization feature is what makes the bincoluars so attractive...and expensive.
5-0 out of 5 stars great binoculars for looking up at night
As a novice astronomer I really enjoy the sharp, steady view with these binoculars. The view is fairly steady even with the I.S. off - depending how stable you are of course. My binoculars cost more than my telescope !! And my telescope is a decent one too. But I think they are worth it. You see so much more in the night sky than what the naked eye can see - by far. They are of course great during the day too. Their weight is not much of an issue for me, although each person is different depending on their viewing habits. I think a hard carry case would have been the best but it's not a big deal for my use. I recommend this pair of binoculars to anyone who is serious about great quality and performance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Holy gazookas!
I bought these for an upcoming alaskan cruise and boy and I glad I did. We had some other 10x25 binocs that I used for years and wanted an upgrade to something more substantial. These are amazing! They are so clear and the stabilization is the most impressing aspect of them. I have used them at least once a day since buying them for bird watching, astronomy (the moon looks amazing) and for watching a new housing development go in about 3 miles away. My parents are considering getting a pair for the cruise too, I plan to share but I don't think I'll want to be without these for long. Wonderful product that I plan to use for years to come. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Docking cradle stops working
I was fine with this camera until the docking cradle stopped working, essentially rendering the camera useless once the charge stopped. This conveniently happened 3 weeks before my baby is due, leaving me without a digital camera at a pretty important time. Casio customer service was NOT helpful - even though this appears to be a documented problem with this particular camera, I was still going to be forced to either shell out my own money for a new base (even though the camera is still under warranty) - or package the whole thing and send it off to California. Obviously not a great option because who knows how long it would be before the camera gets back to me in working order? I had an Olympus before we bought the Casio and after this experience we are going to purchase a new camera - one that does NOT come with a cradle (and not a Casio). If the customer service had been better we may not have come to this decision, but I don't want to be dependent on a company that has no flexibility whatsoever in their way of dealing with problems. My advice is to buy a camera that does not rely on a docking station... fewer parts that can break! Even though I was "lucky" mine quit while under warranty, I have seem other reviews online where it broke post-warranty and supposedly people had to pay $200 to fix it - more than the camera is worth at that point.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Digital Camera Ever
I purchased this camera about a year ago, prior to a trip to London.I'd had a Canon Powershot previously. This camera outdid itself!I didn't have to charge the battery during my four-day trip to London, taking over 500 pictures. The screen size is amazing, though difficult to see when outside and it's at all bright. The camera is very user friendly, easy to set up and so easy to use.Since then, several people have ditched their old digital cameras to buy one of these.
5-0 out of 5 stars Super small & compact with great pics!
I bought this camera refirbished to take with me on vacation. After searching online for almost 2 months, this was the camera that kept popping up that had all the features that I was looking for at a price that I could afford. It has gone to Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Sandusky, Ohio and it has performed wonderful! It survived the heat and sand of the beach, and the heat and whatnot of the roller coasters at Cedar Point amusement park. The videos are great and the sound is amazing...Colors are great and very very clear! And I absolutely adore all the features it has to offer! The retro and black and whites are awesome, as well as the rest of the shot options...I got a great one of some fireworks! I love this camera, it is so easy to use, takes great pics, and is worth the money! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This camera stinks
I got this camera for my birthday and recorded some very important footage of my daughters graduation.I have not been able to transfer the movies to either another disc or my computer since. The software provided gives me nothing but error messages and Canon says it is a Roxio issue and Roxio won't even talk to you without a $40 technical support fee.I have to return the camera and I am stuck with a disc that I can only watch on the camera which I will no longer have. This camera is the worst camera I have ever owned.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good Camera, Crappy Software
This is a nice little camera, and the video quality is excellent. However, I cannot recommend it because the video editing software is from Roxio.Canon clearly states that they do not provide product support for the software.Roxio also avoids supporting the software - if you have a problem, they will allow you to call tech support for $40, or they will kindly sell you an upgrade for $39.95.I have been trying, unsuccessfully, for 6 weeks to get an unlock code from them to allow me to use the software. For some reason, when I installed the software and registered it as instructed, I never received back an unlock code, so the software is useless.Roxio obviously made a piggyback deal with Canon in order to force people into buying their "upgraded" product.Roxio simply ignores e-mails.

3-0 out of 5 stars Heat up
The camera does heat up when attached to the charger.I complained to Cannon support about the camera getting hot enough to the point that you cannot touch it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Driver and software incompatibilities?
Please Google "Print Queue problem iP5200." Exactly the same problem I experienced is described by some other unfortunate people. The problem is that after printing a job, it stays in Print Queue for several minutes, and the second job cannot be started immediately. Those who reported the problem on internet did not get any solution. Of course, they and I contacted Canon. Those who posted the problem on internet and I used the latest printer driver. I have Windows XP Home with all updates installed. The reviewers here didn't seem to have this serious problem. I don't know why a small number of people experience the problem. One person who reported the problem on internet reinstalled Windows system without solving the problem. I didn't go that far.
3-0 out of 5 stars Canon iP5200 Photo Printer
The printer is well made and functions well. Speed is good for both text and photos, even at high quality. My main complaint is that photos, especially poitraits, have a distinct reddish tint. It's difficult to remove the proper amount of cyan since the photos look perfect on the monitor. I've waisted way to much photo paper and still can't duplicate the image on the monitor. If anyone has an answer to this problem let me know please.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great Until E18 Struck
I bought my Canon A95 in November 2004.A little after 1 year just after the manufacturer's warranty expired, the infamous E18 error struck.I called the factory repair center to get a repair estimate, and they quoted $89 plus $8 shipping & handling.I bought the camera for $300 online, now it's going to cost me roughly 1/3 of its purchase cost to repair it.For all I know, it might break down again after the repair! The repair comes with 90-Day warranty period, but it COULD break again after 90 days.
1-0 out of 5 stars VERY Disappointed
I've had this camera just over a year (figures) and it has gone completely bonkers on me.Sometimes it works and other times it puts black lines across the screen making it useless. You never know when you turn it on whether it will work or not -- making it completely unreliable.Keep in mind that this camera was used almost entirely inside for my business, so it wasn't abused, dropped, thrown in the bottom of a purse, etc.It was treated very carefully and probably only shot about 2,000 pictures total.
3-0 out of 5 stars I'm not getting it
After reading the literally hundreds of positive reviews for Canon cameras generally, and this one in particular, I bought one after our older Kodak DC3400 finally died.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good value for home use
After reading the earlier reviews, I was skeptical. But considering the recent price drops ($199) I decided to give this printer a try. The installation was easy. I got paper jams on the first try, but this was due to the paper tray not being positioned correctly - I had the printer sitting on a carpet surface (the paper tray does not lock shut, so is susceptible to improper positioning easily). It comes with a full size toner X25 (good for 2500 pages). Printing, Scanning seem pretty decent. OCR worked well with the Omnipage software that came with the CD (old version of Omnipage software, but accurate character recognition). Copying by placing original on flatbed caused really crooked copy the first time, but seemed better on subsequent times. It was still not perfectly square in alignment. This might have been due to a combination of paper quality and loosely fitted paper tray. Despite these I am happy with the printer for home use. It is good value for the money. I am giving it 3 stars mainly due to the poor fit and issues with the paper tray. You can get over the last problem by placing the printer on a hard surface and installing the paper tray carefully and not disturbing it often.

2-0 out of 5 stars Least intuitive piece of hardware EVER!
I know it's difficult to imagine and probably a slight exageration but quite frankly I have never really seen a piece of office equipment with such a non-intuitive usability design.
1-0 out of 5 stars No mac support!
No mac support! Not just "no mac drivers on the included CD", but "no mac drivers exist that will cause this thing to print".

1-0 out of 5 stars The little engine that could....then DIDN'T!
I've owned this printer for probablly a year now and now I'm shopping for a new one!!Why can't Canon get it in their head to put the print head on the ink cartridge itself like HP does (who's printers I'm now reviewing)...then maybe you wouldn't have the problem of your print head wearing out and clogging like I did.Oh and did I mention it costs about $85 for a new print head,...yeah that's what I said!Don't get me wrong...the printer did great for the time I had it...excellent prints and everything but to only last a year (if it's even been that long)...I'm quite disappointed. So my search is on.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great printer, no complaints.
This printer does an excellent job, esp with high-quality paper, on documents and an equally fine job on photos. I have used it to turn several so-so color photos into beautiful bordered B&W prints. Worked with my PC and now works with my Mac, no problems at all.

1-0 out of 5 stars Landfill
Worked fine for a couple of months of sparse use. Then, it would not be recognized by my computer no matter how many times I tried to tighten the connections and reinstall. Now, it won't even power up. Completely dead. Thank you for wasting my money and worse, creating more useless garbage. A shame. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars If you need a copier THIS is the one to get!
I thought they stopped making stuff like this.Simple and easy to use, and great photocopy results.Go for it.

5-0 out of 5 stars good buy
After fighting for several years with all in one printer/fax/copier machines, I decided to buy seperate components to do these specific jobs. The Canon PC430 was my choice as a copier and I amd very pleased with it. I does it's job very well for small business use with small to moderate copy jobs. It's a simple machine and compact enough to fit on the desktop. The set up is easy. The copies are perfect reproductions of the originals. No frills just does the job it's designed to do.

3-0 out of 5 stars Copier
I bought this copier several years ago and it has work well for me.I like that it can also do legal size paper. It does take up alot of desk space due to the two paper trays.I think that there are better choices now. This copier doesn't have an internal paper tray, doc. feeder, or enlargement of image. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great GIRL POWER camera!..... at least the purple one.
I was 13 decades ago - just didn't want to use my name.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing camera
All I have to say is this is a great digital camera, and I've had a few of them.I just took it on vacation to AZ with me - my first use of the camera and I came home with fantastic images and videos.I had no problems with the camera at all, and never even had to charge the battery or go to the extra, charged battery I brought along with me.I purchased the little battery charger so that I wouldn't have to take along the camera cradle and I advise anyone to buy it.It's very tiny and works great. You cannot go wrong with this camera. It's great at auto so you can just point-and-shoot and enjoy, or very manual if you feel like futzing with it.Also, it's just a very cool looking camera and very sturdy.Even though it's so tiny, I didn't feel like I was going to break it, bull-in-a-china-shop that I am.It was a bit odd getting used to having no veiw-finder to look through, and keep putting the camera up to my eye a few times!

4-0 out of 5 stars smaller than a Video Ipod (5G)
The Sd40 is now out for $350.

3-0 out of 5 stars Missing high cost items.
The printer, contrary to Amazon.com representation does NOT come with a starter print cartridge. If you want to use the printer, you will have to pay for a cartridge before you can test it out.The printer cannot be used on a lan connection without first purchasing a very expensive print router sold by Canon. The cost of the cartridge and router exceed the cost of the printer/copier. Otherwise the printer works well. ... Read more
