Versatility coupled with Clarity
I love this lens, for some people its either a love it or a hate it. Although there is a long lists of pros, it is not perfect. Yes, there have been complaints about the weight, and there is also a 20% battery life reduction so a battery grip or an extra battery is needed. To be honest though, the pros definately out weigh the cons.
Great Lens But..........
All I can say is that everything written in the other reviews is true - it is one great performing and versatile lens. But be aware it is one heavy dumb bell, and you need to be just about a pro to put up with it. You'll be tired from carrying the thing after a two or three hour photographic shoot if not before.

Troublesome for Beachgoers
I ordered this for our trip to the Caribbean.I was really impressed with the safety features but it was quite a hassle just for beachgoing and snorkeling.It is recommended that you don't leave your camera in the case in the heat/sun and if exposed to salt water you must clean and reseal the waterproof seals every time it is in the water.I found that other than not having digital photographs a disposable waterproof camera was more suitable for me.I would imagine if you planned a day or hours on a underwater trip this case would be more suitable.
It works as expected
I used this case during a trip to Cozumel. I had no problems with it. the device worked fine under 140ft deep dives, and the camera had no problems in it. Its use is simple, even though a bit of memorizing of what each button does (in the camera) helps a lot.

Canon MT24-EX Macro Twin Light
After years of manual flash macro work, recently in digital format with extension tubes on the Canon 100mm macro lens, I decided to cast a onsiderable sum of money at this twin light.Where I used to struggle just to get the correct exposure, now I'm able to concentrate on background (no night-looking flash fall-off anymore) and on modeling the light -- including little shiny aphids tended by ants! If you're serious about great macro work -- this is the flash to have.

A cheap lens that performs like a million bucks!
When most people think of this lens, the soft focus feature comes to mind. This lens is certainly unique in this respect. But the truth of the matter is that most people find this to be a feature that they will probably find little (if any) use for. So most people pass on this lens in favor of some sort of zoom (ie the EF 75-300mm). But even if you have no use whatsoever for the soft focus feature, this lens is actually one great, large-aperture, telephoto prime. Oh, and it can be had for a song. I have seen this lens go for less that $200 used here at the marketplace, as well as on ebay and craigslist. Even new, it is pretty cheap.

The TCDC10 is a Lens Well Worth the Money
While, it hasn't changed my life, I have absolutely enjoy using this lens along with my Powershot S70.It's a great tool when it's used as intended.This lens is designed to extend your camera's optical zoom by 2X.This is very useful if you're shooting in Camera RAW.The S70 doesn't enable digital zoom when shooting in RAW.Please keep in mind that this lens is for distance and landscape shots.It's not an alternative to your regular optical zoom.Nor is it for indoor pictures.You should use your regular zoom in these instances.People have commented that using the flash with this lens will create a goofy blur on your photo.This is true.But, you shouldn't be using your flash anyway.When taking a picture of a mountain, the little flash bulb isn't going to help if there isn't enough natural light.So, turn the flash off and try not to wait until nightfall to start taking pictures.You'll find that this is a great lens for those of us who want a little more zoom and are just not ready to swallow the cost of a good DSLR.

marginal utility for low-light close-ups
I bought this lens to take some close-up shots of stationary items under low to moderate light environments.It is utterly useless for that application.The lens blocks the flash and you get a dark photo with a near-black 40% swatch in the lower right of the frame.It may be useful for those who plan to use it outdoors or in bright light situations, but if you're looking to take close-ups indoors, save your money.

So Big It Blocks the Flash
I have just received this lens and have only tried using in in low-light environments, but immediately noticed a fairly serious problem in that the lens is so large it actually blocks the light from the flash from reaching the subjects and causes large shadows to appear in the lower right-hand third of every photo.Otherwise, the quality of the photos was good, so I expect it will work quite well in situations where the flash is not needed.It would have been nice to know ahead of time about the effect on flash photos before I made the purchase. ... Useful package though a bit overpriced
I'm glad I purchased this accessory kit for my new Canon S80--the extra long lanyard allows one to carry the camera in an easily accessible way while hiking.And having a second battery is invaluable.The case is leather and fits snuggly--it is useful for protecting the camera when it is carried in a purse or backpack, but I am finding I set it aside when I'm on the move taking pix.

Case doesn't fit
I don't know what case others got, some have said "too tight" but mine was very loose. The camera is swimming around in the case, easily half a centimeter of clearance. Not recommended. Just buy the battery and wait for someone to make a good aftermarket case.

Why not integral?
This is one of those things that has always frustrated me about higher end cameras, leaving off the features that are standard equipment for ordinary cameras. I've looked at this, but decided against buying it for two reasons.
An organized user's manual would be helpful
The controller is an elegant piece of gear, even for an rookie like myself. However, the manual is another story. In the English section, after page 4, it switches to Spanish.Then, in the Nederlands section, the preliminary english pages repeat, followed by the rest of the english pages, then switches back to Spanish.I didn't go through all of the other languages.I went back to Canon and asked if I could get a manual that was properly organized.They told me, by return email, that this is the only manual available, but I could call an 800 number if this response was unsatisfactory.

I am a freelance photographer who loves his Canon photo equipment. I just recently got into Digital photography and of course, bought a Canon PowerShot Pro 90 and love it. I decided to add the Canon Wide Angle, Macro and Telephoto lenses made for the camera. Well the first two were a big hit, but the TC-DC58 was not quite up to speed as the others. The focus was Ok and photos, no matter what I did, were not as sharp but useable. It is very important to go to the Menu and change the setting to 2X Digital when using this lens or the pictures come out terrible.The camera's max 370mm telephoto can take much sharper pictures, so my recommendation is that if you really need to go out to about 520mm and average quality is OK, then this tele converter will do the job. ... Useful 1.6X tele
Nice clear images. Some purple fringing when exposing bright, highlighted objects. Comes with 2 plastic caps (for lens and 52mm threads) and a vinyl bag. No front threads for filters. Magnification (1.6x) is moderate. Must use almost full tele to avoid vignettes (black outlines)--that's normal with all teles.

A Gem!
I picked up this car charger when I purchased my Canon PowerShot S500. At first I didn't think it would get much use and that I'd been pressured by the sales guy into purchasing it. But the charger has proven itself very useful and perfect for road trips. Nice Charger
On the surface, this charger appears to be nicely made and convenient for auto use, just a bit pricey. Unfortunately and do to design, the charing unit does not securely hold the battery inplace. I've found that the battery slips out too easly, and can and does get ejected out of the charger if you hit a firm bump on the road. It's something you will want to keep an eye one. Got to where I needed the camera today, and again I found the battery on the floor of my truck.

Save your money
Just get a power inverter (~35-45$) and use the included battery charger. Then you can also use the inverter to power a laptop or a drill or something useful. ... Read more
