This camera is good depending on what you want it for...
I carry this camera everywhere.I bought mine when it was still pretty new and I didn't really know much about other cameras.
Not worth the $ if you're doing more with your camera later
This camera may look ultra cool, but believe me, it's not. Unless you don't care much for how your picture quality is, then this camera may be ok, but if you do or eventually will, you are better off getting a better quality camera. Not professional, but not that bad either
Ok, it may not take pictures/movies like professional digital cameras can, but it's still a good camera if you looking for something to do for fun. It's small enough to carry in your pocket, you can operate it on the fly when you need to, so its pretty reliable there. You have to mess around with the software a bit, and experiment with the camera a bit too but once you get the gist of how it works, you wont regret buying it. However, this camera is NOT worth paying full price for($200-$400). I bought a used one at Circuit City for only $125, I've had it for about a year and it still works great! ... Read more

Great camcorder.Discontinued
I bought this camcorder in 2000.The price was great at $500.It was a sale to get rid of the 900s before the newer series came out.The camera is basic.The eyepiece doesn't swivel.Which doesn't matter.I usually use the lcd, which drains the battery faster.The screen is 2.5" small but in color.All in all it is a good camcorder.Like the other reviewer, be careful.This camcorder is discontinued so the price has been jacked up.

There are many different dv camcorders out there for all kinds of budgets. My budget was no too large for my dv purchase, so I shopped around and found the panasonic. I had read both positive and some luke warm reviews ofthe pv-dv900, but decided to go for it. I am so glad that i did. Read more

This camera is good depending on what you want it for...

Worth the money
This is an excellent Digital Cam.It has great features that are easy to use.Also, the quality is very good.The only negative is the slow digital picture taking between clicking and being to take another picture.I have owned this camera since it came out.I use it alot and never had any problems with quality or functionality.

Camera locks up when recording
The camera locks up when recording, and it's already fallen outside of it's 90 day parts warranty. Not perfect, but comes close

Doesn't work for long
I purchased this model in March 2002 and in May 2003 - it just quit working! I thought the battery had run out - recharged it -nothing! Bought a new battery - still nothing. All it'll do now is make a click noise when you switch to camera or vcr. Cant even get my tape out of the damn thing now! Call Panasonic - what a joke! They wanted $149.00 for a diagnostic test and $102.00 service charge - I only paid about $300 for it new. I'll never buy another panasonic again - the service was terrible and they are not helpful AT ALL! Good luck if you buy one - get the extended warranty! They should sell them for $50.00 and just make them disposable!

It worked great until it stopped working....
I baught this camera around october and it is now august, and for some odd reason a couple weeks ago, it broke. i have no idea why, i wasn't being rough with it or anything, i'm sure i didn't bang it. A good camcorder but........

Way!!! too expensive
Take heed to the other reviews.This item is outrageously over-priced!!!While the construction may be exceptional you will get no more benefit from this cable than from a standard IEEE1394 cable which costs about 1/4 of the price!I use the freebie cord which came with my firewire card and it works perfectly every time.
