Nice Scope, poor Tripod.
Your looking at trhis scope because you want big apature with GOTO technology and your poor.I aquired this scope from a friend of mine (NIB).It was easy to put together and within an hour I had the finder scope aligned and was off!All in all the optics are great, Jupiters moons were visable and I counted 5 stripes. Great Scope
To bad about the previous reviewer.My experience has been just the opposite.The scope was easy to assemble and once aligned (only moderately tricky) it worked like a gem.I am able to see many stars and nebula in the city, but when I'm out in more rural areas with less light polution the stars come alive!!!This is great for a beginner!!!And is easy to align on deep space objects without being a pro!!I love it, the only downside is that I am so tired in the morning for work!!!!Buy this baby if you're on a budget but want high quality experiences with the stars!

What a disappointment.
I was so looking forward to it. Then this. The star locating computer simply refuses to be turned on. After hundreds of tries it was on once. Then I turned it off. And then it couldn't be turned on again. What a joke. Don't they have any QC? I have to call tomorrow and hopefully I can exchange one that works. Not worth it
I purchased this telescope last year as a Christmas present.Granted, both the recipient and I are amateurs, but after four hours of trying, the best we could get was an out of focus view of the moon.I've owned telescopes before, and they worked better than this one. The tripod's legs wouldn't stay extended, so that we eventually had to put it on a table to be able to see out.We never used it long enough to try the computer tracking, so I can't comment on that. hard to use
This telescope is very hard to use.It is hard to keep focused, the compass is just a little magnetic handheld compass, and the locator was impossible to figure out.Granted, we are amateurs, but we aren't ignorant.The printing on the telescope was upside down when we put it together.Several adults looked at this telescope because we were having so many problems getting it to perform, but they too, gave up!We sent it back! ... FORGET IT~!!!!!!!!!!
I read other review, and decided to give it a try. As soon as I recieve it in the mail, and opened the box, I realized this was a mistake. CHEAP quality Binocular with "high power" "stupid Sun glass" being a selling point. It came in already broken with two eye ruber pieces falling apart. you can see how the cheap glue was being used to put it in place! It is extremly heavy to hold in hands for more than one minute for nature observation. You will be CONSTANTLY ajdusting the focus. Your fingers bumps with focus bar while you are holding it. Indeed Strap, Case, Lense protectors are all cheap crap, and annoying to have it all ON~! I am taking this back, and buying MADE IN JAPAN "NIKON EAGLE VIEW" 100 times BETTER. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR~!!!!!!

Good binoculars, bad strap, good sunglasses
