4-0 out of 5 stars Compact, Solid and Very Clear
I have had this for over 6 months now and i cant really complain about it. Its compact and easy to use. However, people with glasses would have trouble using it. I use it without my glasses(there is a power caliberation that you can do to match ur eye power) and then its very clear.
5-0 out of 5 stars voyeur heaven
I was a bit worried at first at the tiny size, but it is tres powerful! I bought it for a school trip to the Amazon forest and I sighted way more birds and animals than everyone else which helped get me an A in the course. Yes, these binoculars rock!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for a compact binocular
Overall it does what it is supposed to do.Compact size is a plus. The only complaint is the view gets dim when you zoom in a cloudy day.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good price for the features
I bought this product just before a trip to Alaska - price was right, light weight and has good magnification. During use I noticed the Eye placement is not very comfortable, most of the time you will have to hold it slightly away from your eye- I wish it had soft receptacles like the other larger binocular that I have. Resting it over the eye would have provided a better support.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good bang for your buck
I bought these binoculars about a month ago and have been using it since. This pair does all that it promises, if not much more. The unit has a solid feel and does not look cheapy. The images at 10x are crisp but when you go 30x they get a tad dull given the 25mm lenses (I wont blame Olympus for this one since it is not a fault, just a way to cut size and costs. 50mm is the way to go if you dont mind the size).

5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT BANG FOR BUCK
It's a little difficult to tell from pictures on a website, but this piece is very sleek and light-weight. Its short range ability was the best among those that I tried, which means you can use these inside your house just as comfortably as outdoors. It houses a pre-built photochromatic anti-glare lens so you're protected from being stung by those stray sun rays. The focusing is sharp and swift unlike many others on the market. Olympus knows their optical onions. Unless you're looking for something more heavy-duty (in which case take a look at 'Bushnell powerview 16x50 wide-angle'), I highly recommend the Porro Prism especially because Amazon seems to be offering very aggressive deals on it. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, general purpose 7x35
I was looking for a general purpose 7x35 binocular for camping and birdwatching. The Olympus DPS 1 was one of the lighter offerings in that power, important for me in carrying them on a hike. I like the "grippy" texture of the binoculars. The case is lightweight and has a decent strap on it. One small gripe are the four lens caps, somewhat loose fitting, however they really are not needed when carrying the binoculars in the case, I just leave them at home. Great quality for a reasonable price. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for
These are as much 10 X 42 roof prism binocular as one can expect in the $200 price range. I don't know why Olympus doesn't break down and start using ED glass and make a binocular competitive with the E series Nikons in the $800 range. As one of the leading optics/research institutions on the planet, they certainly have the capacity to do it. My advice is this: If you want premium optics for the price, get a small pair of Steiner glasses in the 8 X 22, 8 X 24, 8 X 26 realm. These can be had now in the $200 - $250 price range, and nothing on the planet, and I mean nothing, compares with fine German glass, period.
1-0 out of 5 stars Great on paper, poor performance
I wrote a review of these earlier, where I noted that the field of vision doesn't align.Well it does at infinity, but the near focus distance is entirely overated.I've seen 6 pairs of these so far, and all have the same problem and that is the field of view doesn't align. I sent them to Olympus repair and they say that they are within "spec." The focus knob has also broken free and had to be glued back to the pin. While the optics are exquisite, the alignment is ridiculously bad. I'd say move on to another pair. The Canon 8x32 wp or Nikon Monarch instead.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great deal, watch for quality problems
I've had two of these binoculars sent, and while I agree with the previous review that they have great lens and optics, I have had two pair shipped (not from Amazon) that have collimation problems.Whenever you buy a pair, always check for this as it can cause severe eye strain as your eyes compensate for this alignment problem.I am going to try to purchase a fourth pair to see if this is symptomatic of the model or where I purchased them. ...
