A MUST HAVE
I have owned this adapter for as long as I've owned my Rebel--since January of 2002. I have NEVER used CR2 batteries in the body. The battery pack has ALWAYS been loaded with name brand batteries--ALWAYS. The battery pack has never been without batteries; the camera is always ready to shoot and this accessory has never failed--I shoot a fair amount of film in this camera. I have even left my camera "on" for days many a time without incident.
Just OK
The BP-200 adds functionality to my Rebel 2000, but admittedly I'm a bit disappointed.It definately has a cheap feel to it.It does help with the balance on the camera and is egonomically better than the standard grip.I just wish it felt more substantial.

I recently purchased the Canon BP-200 and would like to say that it compliments the camera nicely.If you own a rebel eos 300 series, then you know how light the camera is (Too light that is!).The battery pack adds a good weight to steady those camera shots and for those with tripods, there is a hole for a mount on the bottom of the battery pack!Also, to avoid circuit discharge, common sense tells you that you don't leave batteries in any mechanism when not in use.Canon has reasssured me that under proper use, the product is guaranteed to work with the EOS rebel 300/2000 and will not cause any malfunction.Two thumbs up for this accesory! ... Energizer's are usually decent batteries.

I only had the thin Canon battery coming with my Elura 2.On average I could take about 30min video before the battery drys. This battery lasts forever!I haven't had a chance to completely dry it up yet.The best part is that it doesn't feel that big at all as I was concened about the big size. Read more

Canon NiMH battery NB4-200
Because I have Canon equipment, I bought 4 Canon NiHM batteries (NB4-200) for Powershot Digital cameras.However, my husband thought it too expensive and pressured me to shop locally where he insisted it was less to buy an Energizer NiMH rechargeable.It wasn't in Lafayette, Louisiana.Office Depot here wants $28.79 for 4-AA 2200 mAh Energizer NiMH batteries.

It worked well until it stopped.
I bought the battery grip in October, it worked fine until November.Now I have no idea how who to call for help.

Does its job, but expensive and no BP-512s
If you use larger lenses, you'll probably want this just to balance the camera properly.And since larger lenses need more power to focus, and Image Stabilization drains the batteries more quickly, two batteries can come in handy.Most likely you'll have power for at least a full day of heavy shooting.Unfortunately, though the EOS-10D itself can take BP-512 batteries, this grip cannot - BP-511/511as or similarly-shaped batteries only.It can use different batteries in combination, even with different power ratings; it will first use the higher-charged battery, then drain them both equally.I use a Power 2000 1500mAh/7.4v together with my old BP-511 1100mAh/7.4v.
A must have (well for me anyway)
If you purchase a 10D, I consider this as a "must have" accessory.The portait position auxillary button and data wheel are lifesavers when you're popping out a lot of shots.The dual battery slots make for what seems like an unending amount of battery life.I can honestly say that I've never run out of battery life on an assignment when starting with a full charge.In between assignments I can go a couple of weeks of occasional use before I need to charge up even if I use the LCD a lot.It does add a bit of weight to the camera and may be considered bulky to some but having used motor drives on my SLR film cameras for years, the feel is completely natural to me and I wouldn't leave home without it. ... Horrible life, expensive, and proprietary
I've owned a Powershot S330 for about a year.It uses this proprietary NB-1LH battery.I would warn anyone thinking about a camera that uses this particular battery to reconsider your choice of camera.I have two of these batteries, they've each been recharged less than 20 times, and they now hold less than 25 pictures worth of charge.And wouldn't you know it, they're only warrantied for 90 days.Canon's customer support says "sorry, rechargable batteries don't last forever".In this case they don't last more than 8 months.I had seriously considered getting the S400 but after experiencing the horrible performance of these batteries, I've reconsidered.

High priced item (large markup ?)
These "original" proprietary batteries always seem rather overpriced. A much better deal can be had over at sterlingtek.com for an equivalent battery - I have ordered from them(I am not affiliated with sterlingtek in any other way) and will post update if the battery quality holds up. Site related and product related positive reviews made me order from them.

Avoid this battery
I think this battery may be part of a scam. If you look at the text printed into the battery's plastic casing, it says NB-1L, yet on the sticker rating the battery, it says NB-1LH. I think this may actually be a lot capacity battery which is being marketed as a high capacity battery. To be honest, I haven't used it enough to say if it does differ much from the battery I received from Canon with my S400, but the fact that it is much lighter, and that some other users have complained about capacity makes me wonder if I made a good purchase. ... Great product!!
I bought this about a month now and wow this saved me a lot of money on batteries since I use my canon elan alot. The feature of the shutter release button is well thought of in the production stage. It is a good product well worth the money.
