Cool!
This is a really good camera. It works great at places with little light because of its twlight effect.I shot a skating video with this camera and it turned out great. Get this camera.

A o.k. Camcorder for us....
I got this camcorder for my fiance and I for Christmas and so far we have like it a lot.We are still learning how to use all the features but it is pretty easy to figure out the basics (even without reading the manual).I really like the side vision feature because it makes it really easy to see what you're tapeing. Get it!

I find that this camcorder was great when I was taping sporting events such as my daughters soccer game or outside family reunions. Good Camcorder - Could have gotten bang more for my buck!
Don't get me wrong, this is a good camcorder. I love all of the functions and it's really easy to get started with and use. The built-in light and stability features are too die for. There are tons of accessories you can get to enhance your pictures and vhs quality. But, it's not a true digital camera. And the digital camera function could be improved on. I get better quality photos using my scanner at home. The software that comes with the system is not adequate either. I feel that the $649 retail price I paid for this camcorder is WAY too much. Nice little unit.Had a cassette jam when I first got it. Had to send it in ( at my expense ) to Chicago, for repairs. Turn around time was 2 weeks. After that, never had another problem. Buya less expensive model for same results.
I bouhgt this model last year for Christmas and sort of regret it. The quality of the video and ease of use is good, but it is no better than a VHS entry level model. My greatest beef is how wimpy the battery is for this top of the line model. If you buy any JVC, you really need to buy an extra battery or you will miss moments that you want to capture. Buy the basic model with the LED screen for basic use or pony up for a digital model for all the bells and whistles. ... Read more

Great camera
I got this on Ebay for $97 and I don't regret one cent of it! This camera is well-made, has lots of features, and great video quality. It has no built-in light or LCD screen... but for the price who could complain?

its gos in safeguard mode and the door is open lots of technical problems
this is a very easy camera to use but we have had lots of problems with it. i think it is a very cheaply made camcorder and i would advise buying another. about 1 year after we bought it just stopped working. we took it to be repaired and it cost [$$$$] to fix it and it took 4 weeks. it was the one time i wished i had bought the 'extended warranty' from the store. JVC Customer Service Terrible
I received this camcorder for Christmas. While the picture was very good, and the features plenty for my family videos there was an annoying whine in all recordings. I found it was recording the whine into the tape, not just a mechanical whine while playing inside the camcorder. I contacted JVC and was told that unless I had a receipt and proved I received the camera within the past 90 days I would pay for its repair. Even if I got the receipt from the person that gave me the gift I would pay shipping to have it repaired. A Very Good Choice
I found the video results from this camera outstanding; clear and crisp with perfect color. I also found this camera easier to load tape and battery than my old Hitachi Hi-8. However, I find using the controls of this camera somewhat difficult and cumbersome. If you can't afford a Sony Digital Hi-8 camera, I suggest this JVC compact camcorder.With Super VHS-C tape in the camera and Super VHS tape in the JVC VHS recorder, for the price, you can't go wrong.

Awesome!!
Was lucky enough get in on this one for $219 during last weeks Friday Sale, and good thing I did, as it didn't last long! Works great out of the box, EXCELLENT quality and deals with low light situations nicely. Can connect it to any VCR or computer with S-Video connection (or analog RCA). Still, I probably wouldn't have paid $349 normal price. But it's really nice and very comprable to DV's. And I got a free case, tripod, and cleaning kit! ... Read more

You will not be disappointed with this purchase. I compared the price with many other camcorders that had the same features and I couldnt believe what a savings this was. When I recieved it it took apprx 1 hour to charge thebattery and I was recording..
