3-0 out of 5 stars Good value for home use
After reading the earlier reviews, I was skeptical. But considering the recent price drops ($199) I decided to give this printer a try. The installation was easy. I got paper jams on the first try, but this was due to the paper tray not being positioned correctly - I had the printer sitting on a carpet surface (the paper tray does not lock shut, so is susceptible to improper positioning easily). It comes with a full size toner X25 (good for 2500 pages). Printing, Scanning seem pretty decent. OCR worked well with the Omnipage software that came with the CD (old version of Omnipage software, but accurate character recognition). Copying by placing original on flatbed caused really crooked copy the first time, but seemed better on subsequent times. It was still not perfectly square in alignment. This might have been due to a combination of paper quality and loosely fitted paper tray. Despite these I am happy with the printer for home use. It is good value for the money. I am giving it 3 stars mainly due to the poor fit and issues with the paper tray. You can get over the last problem by placing the printer on a hard surface and installing the paper tray carefully and not disturbing it often.

2-0 out of 5 stars Least intuitive piece of hardware EVER!
I know it's difficult to imagine and probably a slight exageration but quite frankly I have never really seen a piece of office equipment with such a non-intuitive usability design.
1-0 out of 5 stars No mac support!
No mac support! Not just "no mac drivers on the included CD", but "no mac drivers exist that will cause this thing to print".

2-0 out of 5 stars A disappointment; has some +'s, but doesn't take great pics, and doesn't hold up either.
The 6x digital zoom is nice, and the zoom is fast and easy to use with precision. The camera has a very quick startup speed, which makes it easy to capture things like birds which won't sit still for you.The menu and user-interface are very easy to use, and it is very easy to view pictures. The screen is huge and very clear.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great value for some well spent money
I am as I call myself an "advanced amateur" photographer and own an SLR for those times when my serious photography mood kicks in.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best all around camera I have ever owned
Sure, it's got some flaws.Don't get grit in the lens, you *will* have to have it serviced out of warranty. Yes, the flash recycle time is horrible, I wish the thing had a hot shoe. Yes, the noise level at ISO 800 is worse than an SLR, but...

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE my little Elph!!!!!!!!
Well, it's been over 3 years since I had it and I love it!!! It's just awesome! It's tiny, the battery life is great, the pictures are wonderful, LOTS of features. The ONLY thing is when you're using flash, it's a little slow. I was impressed with Canon and purchased a bigger SLR Digital Rebel for my "big projects" :) But the little Elph is still my #1 point and shoot!

5-0 out of 5 stars Point and shoot that fits in your pocket
A really great camera that just slips into your pocket. Great to carry around all the time so you can take shots of whatever takes your fancy. Easy to recharge too with its handy battery recharger.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful little camera!
I've had this camera for a little over a year and a half now and I just love it.It's really small, which is a huge plus.Because of the small size, it's very convenient to take with you and that means you end up taking more pictures than you normally would.I've chronicled most of the little and big events I have gone to with it.Even though it's just 2 megapixels, that is more than adequate for me--I don't rely on it for professional shots, just mostly snapshots.I have printed some photos through shutterfly, and they came out looking great. You could tell that they weren't quite as sharp as those from a regular camera, but I had taken them at the medium compression setting. They were definitely framable though and you probably couldn't tell that they were digicam pics unless you inspected them close up.I suspect pics taken at superfine would be even better.Rendition of colors is truly remarkable, and I have received many compliments from friends on this.Canon sure does seems to know what they're doing when it comes to optics.Any photos I've taken with bright colors (landscapes, flowers, etc.) came out breathtaking. The camera is made of metal, so it has a nice, high quality "heft" to it.The photo management software that it comes with is awesome--intuitive and easy to use.It may run slow on old computers though, if you have a lot of photos in your albums.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Multi-Function System
I recently purchased the MF5770.The cost of inkjet cartridges and the solid reviews led me to a laser-based system and this one in particular. While setup was not as intuitive as it could be I encountered no problems getting the system up and running in short time.Although the driver installation looks like Network OR USB, the network option covers both.I can print and fax from any computer on my network and scan from the one I've connected via USB.So far a great system for my needs.

4-0 out of 5 stars If the scanner was only network ready...
I purchased this machine about a year ago for our office. It was a little cumbersome to install and I sometimes get an error in printing which requires me to unplug and replug in the USB cable but in all, we have been very happy with this machine. It truly is a "workhorse" in our office. It prints extremely quickly and faxes well. The scanner is not network ready, so in order to scan you must have the machine hooked up through USB to a pc. Not the end of the world but it would be much better if it was network ready for scanning. After my experiences with many MF machines, I would definetely recommend this machine.

2-0 out of 5 stars Setup Nightmare
Though highly reviewed for its attributes, this product comes out of the box with built-in ulcers for the hapless owner. The documentation seems to have been translated from japanese, with clumsy syntax and word usage. The setup CD offers the choice of network or USB, not allowing for the use of both in this device with a USB-only scanner.I was plagued with an alarm bell and flashing LCD error message the first time I turned it on that prevented printing, was not described in the troubleshooting guide, and required tech support to unravel. While I can now print, the setup of scanner and copier have so far frustrated my best efforts. We all by now have purchased and setup enough complicated devices to know that careful engineering makes such ordeals unnecessary. The bottom line: if you are a glutton for punishment go ahead and order one of these, but buy the antacids first. ... The PIXMA iP6210D Photo Printer combines beautiful image quality with exceptional printing versatility. One key to its impressive performance: Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses an innovative print head with 2,304 nozzles that eject consistent, precise ink droplets as small as two picoliters. It's simple: more nozzles with high accuracy equal amazing results. This patented technology produces an outstanding resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, for superb detail and photo-realism. And for increased color accuracy, high-intensity Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta have been added to the conventional four inks. You'll be amazed at your photo results. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a text printer, for sure!
I bought this printer because it was exceedingly cheap after rebate. Big mistake. It MUST be a photo printer, because it certainly doesn't deliver on text. All text seems to be in shades of sepia, even at the darkest settings.

5-0 out of 5 stars USED IT HARD FOR 3 YEARS AND CAN'T KILL IT. :)
This is probably the most incredible & durable piece of electronic equiptment I've ever owned. It's like the Bunny in the battery commercials....keeps going...and going...and going.
4-0 out of 5 stars 5 years later
I bought this almost 5 years ago and it still works.the ink is too expensive, and the paper doesn't always feed right, but I've gone through a lot of other printers in the same period of time and this is the only one I still have and use. I travel with it and it gets banged around and has been dropped several times and otherwise abused.I was recently looking for a replacement--thinking that there should be something as good that is new and cheaper, but I was disappointed in everything I saw and I'm just going to keep using this one.It prints just fine (with some help) and is reliable.

1-0 out of 5 stars A waste of money
I bought this printer because I travel a lot.The first time I used it, it printed only half a page. After repeated requests for help, I got it to print --- quit working almost exactly to the date that the warranty ran out.Canon not helpful at all.I am looking for another portable printer but it will not be a Canon. ... Okay, first off, I'd like to say that this is my first AF SLR--I stepped up from my dinosaur of a camera, Canon AE-1 manual focus, and right now I am quite overwhelmed by all the features in this little thing.I'm still in the learning stages of all this technology but let me tell you this, I am having fun!It amazes me that Canon can offer quite an impressive camera for the price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good overall camera, great product from Cannon
Without doubt, if Canon did not make the best digital cameras out there, at least it makes the most popular digital cameras. S400 and S410 are the first two which made Cannon so successful in digital camera market. And the later SD series definitely push Canon to be No. 1 digital camera seller in US and world(sorry, Kodark yields to Canon this year and HP is considering to leave this market).
5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for a New Camera User
I have never owned a camera in my life (hubby always took all the pics) and this has been perfect for a beginning photographer mom.It fits in my pocket (guess that's the elph part), and we have taken it on two summer trips so far.I can't believe the photos are so crisp and colorful, and print up as well as the ones we always had developed at the drugstore.
2-0 out of 5 stars fatally flawed
Beware of this camera! The camera overall works great. We have had it for more than a year now and it takes clear, bright pictures and is very easy to use.Very nice compact size.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great GIRL POWER camera!..... at least the purple one.
I was 13 decades ago - just didn't want to use my name.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing camera
All I have to say is this is a great digital camera, and I've had a few of them.I just took it on vacation to AZ with me - my first use of the camera and I came home with fantastic images and videos.I had no problems with the camera at all, and never even had to charge the battery or go to the extra, charged battery I brought along with me.I purchased the little battery charger so that I wouldn't have to take along the camera cradle and I advise anyone to buy it.It's very tiny and works great. You cannot go wrong with this camera. It's great at auto so you can just point-and-shoot and enjoy, or very manual if you feel like futzing with it.Also, it's just a very cool looking camera and very sturdy.Even though it's so tiny, I didn't feel like I was going to break it, bull-in-a-china-shop that I am.It was a bit odd getting used to having no veiw-finder to look through, and keep putting the camera up to my eye a few times!

4-0 out of 5 stars smaller than a Video Ipod (5G)
The Sd40 is now out for $350.

I purchased the Canon 12x36 IS II's a year ago and they still work with the original batteries. Absolutely Positively the WORSE Printer I have ever owned. I have a feeling these other reviewers...no offense...havent owned and operated the printer long enough to make a valid appraisal. I have been using it (when it works) for 6 months and it sucks. I use it for trivial printing at this point...just to use up the ink ive invested in. After that....its in the trash. If anyone wants it...they can have it for the cost of shipping. I'll put it on amazons used sale list.

5-0 out of 5 stars SEEMS TO WORK PRETTY GOOD
I bought this printer based on the reviews given below.I was trying to find a printer that was good quality and used lower cost ink cartridges. So it has been pretty good.I have used it since july of 2005 and it has performed well.Ink cartridges are much cheaper than my former HP photosmart printer p1000 i think that's what it was called. The only thing is i wished this printer had a paper exit tray. But anyway it has been very dependable and i like it.I would buy another one.gg

4-0 out of 5 stars 4 stars for a $50 printer
I replaced my Epson RX500 ($245.00) due to $$$ ink replacement and other issues, and I love this little printer! After almost five months of steady printing I'm replacing the black ink tank for the first time (about $7). It's a little rough on the paper feed but cranks documents out quickly. Photo quality is average for the price of this unit. However, compared to the enormous costs of the Epson ink tanks, this Canon has already paid for itself.I've printed out resumes, pictures, spreadsheets, and loads of emails on this machine.Well worth the price! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Not cheap because it does not include toner
I thought it was a great deal when amazon advertise with over 50% off which is not true. You can buy brand new for around $220 at costco which is newer model and include toner. It is very misleading price. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Probably the best point-and-shoot film camera [4 1/2 Stars]
I got this camera two weeks ago as a gift. Almost exactly what I wanted: lightweight and small enough to fit my pocket. The plusses are:
3-0 out of 5 stars No major flaws, but not recommended.
The 90u is a decent camera. It is very light, but with that being said, it also feels very cheap. The buttons and controls also feel cheap. The camera does what it is supposed to do - just like what any other point and shoot camera would do. However, at this price, I feel there are cameras out there with higher build quality, lens quality, and feel. No major flaws, but not recommended.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this camera.
Bought this camera in August /September(for a gift). Didn't use it for a month and a half.Icouldn't get camera to work. Called Canon, wouldn't replace it, kept getting a flashing "H" Got no warranty, Canon said it was a "diaognostic malfunction"No satification at all.Very unhappy about this purchase ... Read more
