1-0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE RELIABILITY
Even though I have used my printer (a Pixma 5000) very lightly, it jams regularly on Canon photo paper and then spills ink everywhere. Today it went into "service error 5700" and it doesn't work any more, even after rebooting it five times.
5-0 out of 5 stars Why did I wait so long?
I am a very loyal consumer and will generally stay with the specific brands I buy. This was true with Epson printers that I have purchased for many years. Common sense finally took hold after the last tank change and subsequent 6 head cleanings before a good print could be made, not to mention almost 1/4 of the tank depleted. (at least by their monitoring system) Tired of wasted ink and paper, nozzle cleans, tank changes for 1 low color, etc., I decieded to make the change to Canon and purchased the ip6700D. Setup on my Intel driven Imac was a breeze! Talk about instant gratification! My very first print came out flawless with better resolution and sharpness than any Epson I have owned. I even had to look to see if it was doing anything during printing, unlike the Epson that was only rivaled by the dishwasher for making noise! Individual print setup was also a snap. The quality, paper and other parameters were simple utilizing the supplied software. I found the "trimming" capabilities were better and easier than some of my high dollar graphic programs I have. I printed out a box (100) of 4" x 6" prints, one after the other and didn't lose 1 sheet from a malfunction of the printer. No head cleaning. no alignments, no getting ready to do a tank change! Nothing but high quality prints. At least the remaining Epson borderless premium glossy paper worked well.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Fast, Fine Printing Machine
My setup: Dell Dimension 9100, nVidia 6800, Dell 19" ultrasharp flat panel, Photoshop Elements 3, Nikon Coolpix 5700 camera. For the initial setup, I inserted the CompactFlash card from the Nikon into the printer and printed a picture on plain paper. This was to determine the printer worked properly out of the box. The results were fine. The 3.5" display is clear and easy to work with. The printer controls are, for the most part, understandable and easy to use. You could do a lot of printing with this machine without a computer and would need only a minimum of reference to the manual.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great quality, great pictures, amazing PnS camera.
Yesterday, I got home with my new sd800. And due to the scrutiny of the forums, I immediately had to test it. I compared exact duplicate shots from my SD550 to this "upgrade" sd800. I am very sad to say that in normal shooting conditions, this model just couldn't keep up. The main things I saw the sd800 losing horribly to the sd550 in were: picture clarity, sharpness (edge to edge) and color accuracy (the sd800's produces a very warm shot, too much yellow & red). This was a disappointment indeed when you compare the fact that my sd550 is almost a year old.
4-0 out of 5 stars Nice, sleek, sharp,... noisy
10 megapixels, digital macro, telephoto, high ISO, higher definition video, less noise even at higher ISO settings. A nice little package that is worth the upgrade from the SD700 series, and coupled with a 4GB Sandisk SDHC, you got yourself a semi-proffesional, portable photography platform...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera
Have had this camera for nearly a month now, and I have to say it is truly great for the following reasons:
5-0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased!!
I am a severe novice at photography and do not know much on the subject but I really wanted to take better pictures of my boyfreind who does freetstyle motocross.I was having a hard time getting the timing down and getting a good zoom with my old camera and with this camera I have been getting some amazing pictures. At first when reading the manual I became extremely overwhelmed and scared that I made a bad decision.I still do not know what the fancy functions are and how to use them. But I did find that it is very user friendly if you just go with the automatic shooting modes. I'm very excited about the wonderful picture quality I've been getting. Some of his sponsors are even using my shots for their advertisements! I highly recommend this camera!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Canon DC100
I Love this camcorder. This is the third camcorder I have had.The first being the humongus VHS.I had to rest it on my shoulder to use it.The second was a VHS-C which was about half the size of the first. This one is so small and compact, I can carry it in my pants pocket. It takes excellent video and I like the review screen where I can pick out the video I want to watch. My Daughter likes it so much, she is looking to buy one also. Canon rules.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great compact camera!
Love this camera. I've owned The SD300, and SD400 and finally this one. Really like using it. The burst is awesome and takes pics rally fast during daytime. Nightime shooting is a little slower, but expected from a digital camera this size.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fast repair
I asked for this camera for my birthday based on the favorable Amazon reviews.I received it in April and have been very happy with the photos it has taken.Unfortunately in August it stopped working. However, I sent it in with my receipt and they fixed it with no questions and I had it back in my hands in about two weeks or less.I think this is a great little camera for daily point-and-shoot and I would buy from Canon again based on their excellent customer service.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great features - fragile screen!!!!
Our unit at work purchased several of these cameras for documenting field work.Even though we have all taken great care with them, we have 2 broken LCD screens which means the camera is pretty much junk.

Editorial Review

Whether you are sitting in the nose-bleeder seats of a stadium or an opera house, with Canon's 10x30 IS binoculars you'll get an outstanding close-up view of the action. The binoculars are designed to fit perfectly in your hands and have a rubber coating for nonslip grip and protection from damage. The focus dial is center-mounted and the image stabilizer controls are easily accessible from either hand. Canon's optical image stabilization technology eliminates shake and reduces curvature of field. The image stabilizer operates with two AA batteries. A BP-B1 battery pack is included. The lenses are coated with Super Spectra multicoating that improves image quality by maximizing contrast and minimizing color smear.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for the price and the capabilities
We live at the edge of a bay and do a fair amount of bird and boat watching. We've been using the binoculars for five months now and find them GREAT for that purpose. We use them constantly and the IS feature takes the annoying flutter away.We would like to get another pair for the car. Can't recommend them highly enough.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great!
These binoculars work great! The image stabilization works like a charm, and the optical quality is very sharp and clear. My only beefs are that 1) there are no lens caps for the rear lenses - this seems absurd to me, and 2) the IS button is very small and centered, so you have to hold the binocs a certain way with both hands in order to press the button.Seems that it should have had a much larger button or buttons on the sides.

5-0 out of 5 stars stable view makes binocs worth using
I go to an occasional football or other sports game, and would like to get closer to the action.Or I'd like to look at the stars, or at a bird in a tree, or to see what that stick is that is resting on my roof, or whatever. The image stabilizing thing is great. It's not a marketing hype, something that sounds nice but is so-so when using. The I/S feature really is great--it removes all the hand-holding shaking from the view, and keeps things really really focused on what you are looking at.You can get some drift, which means the thing you are looking at can gradually move out of the field of vision, cuz of your hands/arms are gradually moving away from it.But you can get it right back in.I think how this thing works is that when you click the I/S button (on top of the binocs, easy to find), there is a built-in feed back that takes part of the image and keeps it at the same spot no matter what slight movements you make--thus compensating for your shakes that no one can avoid, by slightly moving some of the prisms inside to keep the image the same, regardless of your small movements in holding the binocs. With the image kept at the same spot, your eyes can pick up more of it, see more detail (examples--moon, planets, stars)because your eye isn't chasing the image around as the binocs inevitably move around. It's not cheap to get this feature in the binocs, but these are my favorite for college football, seeing the stars, and so on.I also have their big brother, the 15x50, but those are heavier. When you press the stabilize button, you can feel a slight clunk in the unit (this is a good feature, cuz you can feel/hear it's turned on, sorta like feedback from a keyboard when you press a key, not a problem) and it does its magic. For a football game, take along extra batteries cuz you'll use the I/S button a lot, and you'll get mad if it runs out of power (due to prior use, etc.)--because you will have seen (no pun intended) how much you like the I/S feature!BTW, in a football game, you will get set on the quarterback or whoever else you are following, then click on the turn-on-I/S button, follow the play for 10 seconds, then let off the button saving the batteries. Then repeat half a minute or so later, etc.

4-0 out of 5 stars jpeg vs. RAW
I just noticed the reviewer who was upset that the new Canon G7 does not offer a RAW format. As a professional photographer... just wanted to offer a couple of comments on that subject. In my humble opinion, shooting in RAW format, in many cases, is a waste of time... even in most professional work situations. The extra steps in workflow, required by the RAW format, are simply not justified in the majority of photography work situations. I have sold many prints, posters, and stock images produced from jpeg files. I have also been published in magazines and travel books using jpeg images almost exclusively. Many photographers have come to view the jpeg format as the "amatuer" format and RAW as the "professional" format, which I believe is really not accurate. I know a lot of professional photographers who make extensive use of the jpeg format (no matter what camera they are using). I have not found a photogographer or editior, yet, who can actually tell the difference in a print produced from a RAW file and one produced from a high quality jpeg file out of the same camera. I have had this same discussion with a former photographer from National Geographic. He stated that he could not tell the difference in a print from a jpeg file and a RAW file either. He said that he, always, shoots in jpeg format. Yes, I understand the additional ability to "tweak" an image in RAW, but if the image is correctly exposed to begin with... very little "tweaking" should be necessary anyway...and working in jpeg is a much faster and more efficient workflow for me. Just my opinion, but I could care less that the G7 does not offer a RAW format. It seems like a great camera to me. Looking forward to trying one out. The feature set seems to be extraordinary.

1-0 out of 5 stars BEWARE!RAW capabilities have been REMOVED from this camera!
For all the vast improvements made to this camera line -- if you are a serious amateur photographer who uses RAW file format -BEWARE: Canon has REMOVED the RAW file capabilities from this camera update!I own a Canon G5 and was SO excited to see the improvements listed with the new version of the Power Shot camera; most importantly doubling the megapixels and addressing the camera 'shake' issues that are a serious problem with macro and night photography with the G5.However upon reviewing the data I did not see RAW listed as a file format, only JPEG (a lossy file format). So I picked up the phone and called Canon directly.Their response was, "Canon HAS removed the RAW capabilities from the Power Shot G series cameras.Canon has decided to reserve RAW format only for their more professional SLR series cameras".Well Canon has just lost a sale with me.I'm not interested at this time in their more cumbersome Rebel with interchangeable lenses (nor in one of their even more expensive SLRs).I am a serious photographer that wants a camera with RAW capabilities that is small enough to throw into my bag and run out the door on a whim.I went digital to get away from a large bulky heavy camera and all of the equipment needed to take good photographs. For now, I'll keep my G5 and hope Canon decides to correct this misguided mistake with the next generation Power Shot G8.And if that day doesn't come.... Well I will just have to look elsewhere.Don't mess with me Canon! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great machine
I hesitated a moment ordering it after reading the several poor reviews. But then I remembered that every Canon product I ever bought was fantastic, so, I ordered this scanner.Yup, she's fantastic too. I don't know why them guys panne it because it is VERY VERY fast and does a great job.It makes a little noise but so what? It's an incredible machine for the bucks and I couldn't be more please.

1-0 out of 5 stars The Worst Scanner I Have Ever Owned
I received this scanner as a gift as my old scanner (and the first one I ever bought, in 1997) was not going to be compatible with the computer I was having built.I work as a freelance graphic designer and artist, so having a scanner is essential to my work.I was happy to be getting this scanner since it was so much smaller than my old one but had about the same scanning area.I immediately hooked it up and set it up, and set to try scanning.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not all that great.
I use to really like Canon products. But this particular scanner has changed that appeal. It is beastly slow, fairly noisy, and the software is inferior.I scanned 8 pages of Calculus notes directly into a PDF file and it worked fine.On a separate occasion I tried to scan a small 5.5 X 8.5 card into a PDF file, and it said the image was too big.The documentation and help files add to making the software inferior. It's difficult to locate specific help.Once you locate the help files, finding what you need is not worth the trouble.I feel bad for Canon, but after this experience I strongly recommend a comparable Epson if all CanoScan 4200F's are like this one. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Canon BU-10 Bluetooth Adapter for i80 Printer
Order was received fast and worked as expected. Zero problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fits right in
The wireless board fits right inside the unit, so that is nice.Takes a little to work thru the initial setup using the Canon setup utility, but once you have it paired, it works like a charm.
3-0 out of 5 stars Beware of tech support on installation of this device...they will wipe out your pc!
Upon receiving this item along with the IP90 printer I had no idea where it should be installed into the printer. The printer was brand new and I no clue so I called tech support and one guy had no idea where to install it and he was actually getting frustrated with me because he wanted to just brush me off and get off the call asap but I wasnt having it after spending over $500 on a printer and its bluetooth and other accessories. The 2nd tech support guy was a bit better at handling the call but had me do some things here and there and because I was already tired and frustrated I wasnt paying attention and the end result was a completly disabled pc.The tech guy had me uninstall the printer and software and somewhere in between the computer wasnt able to boot back up to windows at all.I spent the next month reinstalling everything from scratch. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars LiDE 500F Scanner
For slightly over $100, this is a great little scanner. The ease of operation is outstanding.I bought it for my office, but it spends equal amounts of time on everyone else's desk. One push button for PDF is quick and easy. The stand allows a very small 'footprint' on a otherwise crowded desk. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great price and easy to use
I love this scanner.I took it out of the box, attached the cable, slipped a newspaper clipping into the scanner, hit the "scan" button, and had a beautiful image of the clipping, all within a couple of minutes.
5-0 out of 5 stars ITS GREAT!
SO far from its use i love it. I am in the comic industry so i need to scan line art, its crisp! ( i should get a 11x17 scanner but i dont have that cash) for the price its excellent. Its fast in scanning b/w and color.

5-0 out of 5 stars All I can say is WOW!
I bought this product for my wife to replace an old scanner. The pre-scan time is lightning fast. The quality of the scans are HUGE and clean. We have started to scan some negatives and they are some what slower but the quality is better then any picture can scan in.It is the best scanner I have seen on the market and I would recommend it to anyone. Also it comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.That software runs for $99 by it's self. This scanner is well worth the money. ... Why bother waiting for the photo lab when you can print images that are just as good--or maybe better--at home? The Canon PIXMA iP4200 combines five-color printing with a 1,856-nozzle print head capable of delivering superfine 1-picoliter ink droplets. The result is gorgeously clean, sharp prints delivered into your hands just minutes after you snapped the shot. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Pure great printing!
I've been an HP fan forever except for their horrible software.I installed this Canon IP4200 in less than 10 mintues and was up and printing flawless photos in 1 minute. The photos out of this printer are BETTER than the photo lab! This model has the best resolution (even better than some higher model Canon Pixmas), has a dual paper tray, output tray and is quiet.Even skip the other Canons with the card slots and useless little screen. The resolution on this is perfect.
1-0 out of 5 stars The Horror, The Horror, or The Tale of the Haunted Yellow Inkwell
Just like the start of a bad horror film, everything seemed serene for the first precious moments, and then strange, bizarre messages kept popping up at random times, all dealing with an apparently haunted yellow ink tank (That's the only logical explanation left). Here is the story:After a few pages of printing, an error message would pop up, printing would halt, and each of the messages would be about the "haunted" yellow ink tank.First, the printer insisted there were two yellow ink tanks installed, but there was only one.Next, the printer was adamant that the yellow ink tank was the wrong brand; no, it was the yellow Canon cartridge that came in the box. Finally, the printer strongly stated that the yellow ink tank was not installed correctly, but there it was, just like the others, snapped neatly into place. But just to be sure, and because we were scared, we "reinstalled" the yellow ink tank over and over, but the printer would not accept that obvious fact.In desperation we turned the printer on and off, cleared the printing jobs, restarted the computer, reloaded the software, all to no avail. After each "fix" the same ghost of a message appeared again and again and again . . . . until we unplugged the printer, put it back in the box, and drove it and the yellow ink tank back to the store where it may rest in peace.
5-0 out of 5 stars Realy nice printer
Easy setup, great borderless photo, surprisingly quick printing.I like the enclosed paper feed cartridge for plain paper.Time will tell if it will be like my Epson with fatally clogged heads, a problem with ALL ink jets after time. For right now, I am very happy with this printer. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a very good printer/copier/scanner
I've been through about 5 printers in the past 9 years. My last printer was a multifunction Canon MP370 which lasted about 2 years, but it finally clogged up out of warranty. The MP600 is kind of big, very heavy (which I kind of liked that for a change) but is extremely fast, produces high quality output and easy to use.I've had it for 2 weeks and both my wife and I use it daily. She copies lots of stuff for her artwork, scrap-booking and card-making.The color reproduction has improved a lot. It also scans fast and accurately.Best of all, it is very quiet and so fast in B&W text mode that it doesn't seem possible. The setup had one problem that I've never encountered. The instructions made a big deal out of not connecting the USB cable before the software was installed, the wording was incorrect which led to me connecting it up incorrectly anyway(and I knew better from experience). You can't go wrong with this printer, except the ink is a little hard to find and very expensive. One complete set of cartridges will cost you at least $75.I'll be looking for after market ink soon.Canon would make more money if they simply cut the ink costs by about 40 or 50%. This is a very good multi-function, much better than my past experiences with Epson and HP.

5-0 out of 5 stars Impressive Machine
I've had this printer for about a month, and so far found it excellent at everything. I had been using an Epson printer and scanner and both turned into nightmares, I find this machine to be light years ahead, especially in speed and ease of use.
5-0 out of 5 stars Looks like a great all-in-one printer for the price!
Slight caveat: I hadn't invested in a new printer for a very long time, so the MP600 is the first modern inkjet, multifuction, or photo printer I've owned.Prior to this purchase I've had monochrome laser printers, both at home and at work.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised
I recently purchased the Rebel T2 camera body only after my Canon EOS Rebel 2000 gave its "last gasp".I had been a Canon user since 1979 with an AE-1 (that I still have).
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Camera, beautiful pictures.
I got this after switching from a digital camera. The digital cameras didn't offer the depth I wanted and not having proofs was a big drawback.
4-0 out of 5 stars More than good enough
After researching several cameras in this price range, I bought the Rebel T2 last month. It has met my expectations and perhaps then some. After recently trying out a friends camera in the 150.-ish range, I partially regret spending what I did. It all comes down to what you need, want, and how many bells and whistles you like. For the money though, compared to the competitors, I still think I made a good purchase. After all, if I use it for ten years, which I most likely will, I will have surely got my moneys worth. Bottom line: no complaints with it. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Camera but has a Known Bug
This camera is great overall when it works properly. There is a known issue where the lens will not retract (and it's not due to low battery).
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Camera, Tremendous Value
Bought this to replace an older 3mp Canon that my wife loved, but the battery(and subsequent replacements) were awful. They'd last perhaps 10-20 pictures and then start flashing "low-battery".
5-0 out of 5 stars Best camera I've ever had.
I purchased this camera about six months ago after my Kodak Easyshare camera completely died on me. I did a little research and read only good things about this Canon camera so I decided to go with it because it was very reasonably priced (about $200). Not only did the camera live up to my expectations, it surpassed them by leaps and bounds! Here are the things I have loved about this camera:
