Great Camera
Full featured and easy to use, this camera takes fantastic images.As a provider of professional imaging services, we depend on our 3030s daily.They are still used after 4 years even though we have 8 megapixel DSLRs.The entire line of Olympus imaging products gets 5 stars from us.

Great camera...but
I love everything about this camera except I must say to use a tripod.This camera is just awful if you have a shaky hand.You can't take any "real time" shots.

What gives it a star less?
First, the bad things. Too much noise shooting under low light conditions. Also in low light conditions you'll find some green and white little points of light on the image. Read more

WOW! what a picture
I got this as a gift and I have to say that it is amazing. I didn't even really need to look at the directions, VERY EASY! This camera ia very light, and compact and can fit into also anything, even a small tiny purse!It figures 6 different flash types so you can cut out on "devileyes" and lack of background in the night shots. Very nice! And if youtake pictures like me and have your fingers in front of the lens, there'salmost no way to do this with this camera. Another plus in my book! Read more

HUGE Disappointment
I unfortunately paid a lot of money for this terrible camera. It was a huge disappointment. We missed many wonderful shots of our new son because the zoom on this camera just doesn't translate to the prints. Everything was off center. I was majorly disappointed in this camera,,,I thought Olympus was a quality name and boy was I wrong. I went back to using an old canon snappy and get pics that are 500 times better. Steer clear of this one. I also had the same on / off issues that another reviewer had. this camera is just plain awful.

Cross Country Camera
I purchaced one of these cameras in Indiana for a cross country trip. It worked from Indiana to South Dakota. I replaced it in Tacoma, Washington, then continued home to Alaska. I replaced it again in Alaska. The camera will turn on and off by itself. I have changed batteries with no luck. I e-mailed Olympus and asked if any one else had a problem. I was told no, all of there cameras worked fine. They offered to repair if I sent to California, but that was a big hassle. Camera now collects dust and is not worthy of the garage sale pile. I will not buy another Olympus product and would suggest you do not either.

Still love this camera after many years of use.
If you are looking for a high quality, low cost camera that offers a wide range of features then I highly recommend this to anyone considering it.This is the first and only digital camera I have owned and I've had it for approximately 4 or 5 years.I orginally purchased this camera to take to pro baseball games because of the 10x zoom lens, which is still close to the best today.I was pleasantly surprised, once I learned the features of the camera, that it takes exceptional close-ups as well.(The portrait setting is one of my favorites, but you should read how to properly apply the feature before using it.)Even with the low 2.1 megapixels, by today's standards, the pictures are very clear when blown up to an 8x10.The only couple of downsides I would mention are the lack of image stabilization and the lag time between shots.While most newer cameras now offer image stabilization, if you have a fairly steady hand or a tripod it won't be too big of a deal.As for the lag time, any digital camera is going to be slightly sluggish compared to 35mm.I would still buy this camera again.

Still enjoy it!
I've owned this camera for several years now and although the resolution is starting to get low by todays standards, I still greatly enjoy this camera.I absolutely love the 10x zoom, and the pictures taken are much better than if you would have a cheapy low-end 3-4 megapixel camera.For anyone on a budget, this camera now offers alot of quality for an affordable price.

Olympus Trip Camera
Well I actually won a camera exactly similar to the XB40... this one was the AF4000. I have just begun to use it and I really like it. Getting adjusted to a 35mm from a 110 was a little rocky, but all is well and atleast I dont have to worry about advancing the film. Overall this camera is nice, handy, small (but affective), and actually looks expensive, but isnt. I hope all enjoy the camera because I sure do.

good camera but only worked for a year
I got this camera last year for camp. It worked fine. The pictures were good but not the best. The pictures i took with it; didn't look like what it looked like when i took the shot. The pictures also had red eye. I continued to use it until recently when i brought it to camp again. This time the camera skipped pictures on the roll of film, and sometimes didn't work at all even with new batteries in it. Now my camera doesn't work, and i only had it for a year.
