4-0 out of 5 stars Giant Software Program
Huge software program, around 460 Mb. to install.
5-0 out of 5 stars Nice scanner
I researched this scanner in August at Canon's website, and all of the info on it sounded very appealing to me, and I bought one the first week they came out in September. I've had two Visioneer scanners and have used someone else's Visioneer's 7300 USB scanner on occasion and I had been looking into possibly buying one of those instead, and I was a little apprehensive about buying any other brand, but the CanoScan LiDE70 way beats them hands down in regard to clarity and quality of the scan, and I'm glad I bought one over the Visioneer 7300 USB, as this CanoScan LiDE70 is far superior, IMO.
5-0 out of 5 stars One Great Scanner
I spotted this model on the Canon website before it was released.I ordered it from Amazon as soon as it hit the shelves. This scanner is small, and USB powered helping me limit the ammount of wires around my desk. The resolution is phenomenal and the software is more than user friendly.I get great results using it through Adobe Photoshop CS2.The OmniPage software that comes with it is a great help scanning my college books and converting them into text I can use in emails or reports.Sure there are other, cheaper scanners with less than stellar abilities, but at that price you can buy a scanner that won't be outdated within the years to come. ... However, after 6 months of use of this camera, the keys stopped functioning like back/next keys. I can still take pictures and download but can not preview as I cant use any screen buttons. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Other Camera
I had a Kodak CX7430 but it was stolen. I loved that camera. I found this replacement and was very pleased with the result. This camera is even better than the old I had. Keep up the good work Kodak. I have recommended this camera to all my family and friends.

3-0 out of 5 stars Lasted only one week
I bought this Kodak camera at a great sale price (it was bundled with the printer dock too) and got rid of my old, large, slower (but dependable) HP digital camera that I had owned for years. The Kodak had all of the features I was looking for in a new camera. I almost felt it was too simple to use until I discovered you could turn off all of the display icons & messages. For a week and a day I used it to take a few pictures inside and out plus a short video. Then after just taking a picture the lens wouldn't go back in when I turned the camera off. Finally it did slowly go back in but when I turned it back on, I received an lens error message 14 and the lens didn't come back out.I tried everything in the manual, charged the batteries and even put in new Kodak camera batteries plus called customer support (who wasn't totally helpful) but the camera was dead.I was very disappointed that this camera only lasted a little over a week so I returned it for a refund. I'm not sure if I want to try another Kodak easyshare camera since they all seem to be basically the same model type. Perhaps I should go back to a HP camera again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wrong Battery included in package...BEWARE
For the most part this is a fine digital camera.I purchased one via amazon for my wife 6 months ago, and my daughter asked for one for her birthday. We are very happy with this and it does everything we would like it to.

5-0 out of 5 stars You're going to love this outfit
My first digital SLR was the D70. I stayed with slides a long time, 30 years. But with digital I had more keepers at the end of the day. Everything good about digital is enhanced by this package. Everything good that you've heard is true. Get in line. It took me 6 months to get this one. You'll have a ball.

5-0 out of 5 stars Already one of the great ones.A great deal.
The Nikon D200 is a professional camera which is also aimed at the serious amateur digital photographer. It is essentially the upgrade unit from the D100/D70s, and it incorporates solid improvements over those excellent cameras.
5-0 out of 5 stars I love this camera
My advice is to buy an extra battery and a 2MB memory card. Other than that, I love this camera. I am often complimented on the image quality and many functions of the Nikon D200.I highly recommend it to experienced photographers (it is a bit complex for those used to a point-and-shoot). ... We have to tell you, wide-angle capabilities in a point-and-shoot digital camera are a revelation. Does this camera have that and more? Sure does. Dual lenses, so that it goes from a wide 23mm equivalent to a 117mm equivalent (6x zoom) without a protruding lens? Check. A large, beautiful LCD? Sure thing. An in-camera panoramic stitch that makes the most of both those features? Oh, yes.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars For A Wide Angle Lens!
If you are interested in portable digital point and shoot cameras, since Canon discontinued the Power Shot S-80, this one is one of THREE digital point and shoot cameras on the market that I know of that have a "true" WIDE ANGLE lens of 28mm---23mm in this case! (Or in this case a 23mm super wide angle lens!)(The other two are: The Canon Power Shot SD800 IS for $400 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 for $250)
1-0 out of 5 stars Nice sleek camera
I had this camera for about a month. It works well. Shoots great video, I love making movies on the go with this thing! Can zoom in and out during filming. I'd say camera is better at filming than taking pictures. Pictures are good, however, forget about taking good quality pictures at evening on the downtown street. Daytime pics are good, could use an image stabilizer though. Blurry warning doesn't quite cut it. Camera design is awesome, the dual lens does not extend, I like that a lot! The only problem with that is if somebody else is taking a picture of you for instance they might accidentally put their fingers ON the lens. Happened to my camera, thankfully no damage. The docking station is cumbersome and unneccessary, invest in SD Card reader. 3X optical zoom is not enough. Wide angle lens is awesome. Overall - good camera for the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Camera
Basicly everything that "Jeffrey Picard 'Photo Guy'" mentioned is absolutly correct with the camera. Also according to toehrs the panoramic option isnt as great as you'd expect it to be, but i disagree. Of course you'll need some practice to get the knack of it but once you do the reward is some wonderful panoramic views! The camera door is weak and if you drop it the door opens and the impact might even make the memory card come out. so be careful with it, and dont just be a klutz. Another thing to mention is that despite popular belief you dont need to bring the Kodak Stand on your travels in order to charge your camera. NO! All you have to do is bring the AC Adapter cable with you [which is included, the same one you use to plug in the stand] because there is a hole in which you can plug the adapter into your camera and charge it.

4-0 out of 5 stars good deal
I bought this camera not expecting much because it is the lowest camera in sony's hard drive camera line. I love the zoom and the picture quality outside. Inside the quality of the picture is really grainy in low light conditions. The camera is really compact and light which makes it easy to handle and cary. I bought this camera for my wife after looking at cameras for 2 months and trying to decide weather we really needed a high end camera. She wanted the camera for taping our son who is just learning how to walk. She loves it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good camcorder if you are not serious about editing your footage
This camcorder does capture good video. But the main drawback is that it records in MPEG2 format (DVD quality). Initially its nice and easy to capture video and watch it on your computer by downloading the files using the USB 2.0 connection. It gives you instant gratification. But after capturing 4 or 5 hours of video, you will notice that your videos aren't so great as you expect it to be. Its not the fault with your camcorder. Its because all of us shoot extra footage, unwanted scenes, shakes, etc which we want to edit. You may want to add a title or two, add transitions, add backgroud music, combine your photos with the video, etc. Basically you may want to edit your footage. Its here when you find the major drawback of this camcorder. The MPEG2 quality video is not good for editing. The video quality is so compressed that you won't have sufficient bandwidth to edit the video.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Start
It's interesting how people will give this a really crappy review based upon one feature, or upon the fact that they didn't RTFM before making a purchase (or at least make an educated purchase).

5-0 out of 5 stars Kodak EasyShare V603 is the best ultra-compact camera right now
Kodak EasyShare V603 is a great camera. It is an underdog in the digital camera world. Many digital camera websites on the internet have a bias that Canon and Nikon are superior cameras, while Kodaks are considered inferior ----- but V603 proves that this is not true. The V603 is very small, takes great pictures with excellent exposure, and is built better than any ultra-compact Canon and Nikon has to offer. In my review, I'll try to mention aspects that other reviews haven't covered as yet. 5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, easy, fast, sleek little camera with GREAT pics!
This is the third camera that I have tried out for my main family snapshots. This is an outstanding blend of style and performance and it is small enough to easily fit into your pocket.I was looking for good picture quality with a fast shutter/auto focus speed and this camera fits the bill.In addition, it shoots high quality (TV quality) video compressed in MPEG-4 meaning you can store 30 min of video on 1 GB of memory. This camera is truly a pocketable still and video shooter ready to capture anything you throw its way.I have tried the camera in many different lightings and it has performed very well with outstanding pictures all around.I would highly recommend this picture for anyone that wants good quality and fast performance in a small package.

4-0 out of 5 stars Faster response time than the Sony Cybershot I owned, but more out of focus shots
I can't say I don't like my Nikon Coolpix P4. With its 8 megapixels, the quality of the pictures is amazing beyond any doubt. Also, the range of situations that it can adapt to and the video it helps produce outranks all previous digital cameras I've owned (granted that I haven't had any digital SLRs).
5-0 out of 5 stars Solid compact digital camera - bypass P3 and get P4
A good solid digital camera that accomplishes what it sets out to do which is to take EXCELLENT photos. Forget the features in these types of cameras (I prefer to use my dSLR whenever possible, but lets face it, its rarely practical to take a 5 pound camera with your everywhere). I tend to be a Nikon-brand snob (except for the excellent Canon s50/60/70/80 series) because the lenses are superior and the shots terrific. This is a camera designed to pop into your pants pocket or your backpack or purse, and go...The results are excellent. THe software included average. Bypass the 100.00 pricier P3 (which is the exact same camera with totally useless WiFi built in driving up the price) and go for the P4.The Vibration Reduction works! Took many photos from a moving boat the other day and everything was sharp and clear. Great color saturation. Good wide to zoom range coverage. A bit chunky in your hand, which feels great -- you don't feel like you are holding a deck of cards and shooting from a box...Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of everything in a compact package
I bought this camera earlier this summer (2006) to take on a trip to Sweden because I wanted lots of versatility but without the bulk of my 3-year-old Sony digital. There are tinier cameras out there, but after some research I didn't find any with all the functions and range of capabilities of the CoolPix P4 (and the Nikon name, I admit, was also a selling point). The vibration reduction proved itself extremely useful: I took lots of photos from a moving bicycle on a dirt road (using one hand!) and they came out beautifully. I was also doing genealogical research while on this trip, and found that by using the "museum" scene function together with the macro dial setting I could take crystal clear color photos of 150-year-old archival documents using available light; this worked even better than the b/w of the "copy" setting an earlier reviewer mentions. Outdoor photos in a range of light from dawn to dusk, especially if I made use of the scene functions, came out with true-to-life, rich color; indoors I could often go without flash in surprisingly low light, but if needed, the flash in automatic setting seemed well-balanced, not washed out. I've been very happy with the quality of photography and with the ease of use: It works fine as a point-and-shoot you can hand to a kind stranger to take your photo, but also has the bells and whistles to please a much more sophisticated shutterbug. If you want a compact camera that can give you SLR-worthy results, I highly recommend this one. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love the Full Frame Sensor, but......
This is an excellent camera.I upgraded from the EOS 20D which was also a great camera.I upgraded for a couple of reasons. The first was the Full Frame sensor. The EOS 20D has a 1.6X crop factor which effects your lenses overall focal length. On the EOS 5D you get the true focal length of your attached lens.Just like film SLR cameras.Awesome! The one problem I've noticed with the Full Frame sensor on the EOS 5D is it is huge. When you are changing lenses this sensor picks up every little piece of dust, dirt and fibers like a vacuum. I'm constantly cleaning the sensor with a blower.I also had to bring it to a Canon service center. Just to remove some of the dust off the sensor that my blower could not remove. The Canon service center was very far from my home.(Very annoying).I never experienced this problem with the EOS 20D.But, the images you get from the full frame sensor are far superior to the smaller sensor on the EOS 20D.
5-0 out of 5 stars Buy it for image quality at every ISO setting
After 3 decades as a Nikon 35mm film 'loyalist', a co-worker let me test drive his Canon 5D, Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8L USM and SanDisk Extreme III 2 GB card.
5-0 out of 5 stars The bargain digital full frame camera
If you've been considering a digital full frame camera (and who hasn't?) this is the one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.Now that Kodak is out of the picture, your choices are the EOS 5D or the 1DS Mark II, which costs more than twice as much.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent printer, look no further!
I just purchased this printer last night and was stunned at the image quality. Granted, I shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi which produces amazing pictures at 10 megapixels, but this printer lives up to those great shots and prints brilliant pictures. I am surprised at the previous reviewer's comment about not being as good as Costco printing. I've also doneall my printing there and I would say this is as good, if not better than Costco. This could be due to using high quality Canon paper, but looking at some of these shots, I can't honestly imagine them getting any better. I know Canon has a new 9500 printer coming out in the spring that will do up to 13 inch wide paper, but I couldn't wait and going to Costco all the time was getting annoying, as convinient as it really is. I am so glad I spent what I consider to be a very reasonable amount of money (130 dollars) on this printer, now I'll only be going to Costco for the 12x18's. The printer is VERY easy to use. I printed right off the Compact Flash card using the printer's on-board screen and did plenty of cropping and trimming to make the shots perfect and centered. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I was printing perfectly within 15 minutes of opening the box. The screen and menus make it so easy and convinient, I haven't even needed to use the computer to print yet. I would highly recomend this printer to anyone who wants stunning prints up to 8.5x11, you will not be dissapointed, it's truly a top-notch printer!

2-0 out of 5 stars Red color problem
The photo output of this printer is really quite good except for one GLARING problem - the overwhelming redness of flesh tones.A lot of pictures of the baby are coming out like he's scalded or badly sunburned. This leads to a tremendous waste of paper and ink, not to mention effort in trying to adjust for this problem.Even a call to Canon TS didn't solve anything.Apparently, I'm not the only one with this problem.I would love to return this printer if I could...Too bad I stocked up on a bunch of Canon paper already.Any suggestions for a fix (besides the usual calibration, red tone slider, etc.)?I would love to try the MP series, but this experience has really soured me on Canon printers (I love their digital cameras though - bought 3 within the last year).
5-0 out of 5 stars CAN'T GET ANY BETTER THEN THIS!!!!!!!!!!
I love it...The print quality is amazing looking. Im very pleased with the print plus color quality of pictures. If you're buying a printer for the first time i would highly recommend a canon but also this one because you will love it! I have alse compared prints from ordering online from a store to my new Canon PIXMA iP6600D and of course the pictures i have printed at home are even much more better looking, ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!

5-0 out of 5 stars Exceptional Camera!!! Buy This!
I am an 11 year old boy who was looking for a camera to take pictures with, a good price and one that was nice. It turns out I get this camera and I took it to the beach and took it into the forest and the pictures turned out excellent! The only reason why I did not give it five stars was because sometimes it would beep and not activate no matter what I did. This is most likely because it is refurbished- this rarely happens. If I were you I would not worry about it and not by the camera because of it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Good For Outdoors Only
This camera is incredibly frustrating.I must admit that under ideal lighting conditions outdoors on a moderate to fully sunny day, the camera takes wonderful pictures. However, photos using indooor and mixed lighting conditions leave alot to be desired. If you want to take any indoor pictures with natural light, this is not the camera for you.The reason being is that if the flash is not activated or the lighting is not perfect, the camera slows down the shutter speed considerably.Since the camera does not have very good image stabilization (if any) indoor pictures are blurry unless you have the hands of a surgeon.Of course you can use the flash, but then your subject will be overlit, while the background is pitch dark. And forget about taking long range pictures indoors (i.e. at a graduation ceremony or wedding) because if the flash is on, you will get a black picture because the camera does not compensate the shutter speed for distance, it only adjusts to whether or not it thinks the flash is on.If it is off, your picture will be blurred because the shutter stays open for 1-2 seconds.Since I take alot of indoor pictures, this camera is worthless to me.If you only plan to take outdoor pictures in ideal light, this is the camera for you.If you want to do any natural light photography, forget it. ...
