1-0 out of 5 stars Can you say Noise ?
What more is there to say, if they fixed the noise problem I would buy it in a second.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb design with great images, although some noise/detail compromise
I was definitely NOT disappointed with the camera, after reading so much about it and passing on the LX1 a year ago due to the reports of excessive noise in the images.

2-0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE RED EYE PROBLEM
I love SONY cybershot cameras...and though I really like a lot of features of this camera I have to say that the red eye problem is terrible.
5-0 out of 5 stars Just got it and I love it
I was SO pleased and surprised by the shutter speed. I got it on clearance at the place with the big red circles(hint) $99 Can't wait to try out all the bells and whistles. Took completely unfuzzy pictures in a car maoving at 70 MPH Yippee

1-0 out of 5 stars 1/2 star only-defective out of box
I really had high hopes for this camera as it really seems like a lot of bang for the buck. But it would not power up at all after unpacking. I was finally able to get it powered up after much fiddling. The manual even said to take out batteries for 1 minute to solve problem. This annoying "fix" worked maybe 50 percent of the time. This power up problem is real streaky as well. It would get my hopes up by starting fine about 6 times. Then it would fail to start up again on 6 more tries. Now the lens are stuck open and it will not power up. It's going back it the box today and back to the very helpful dealer. I doubt seriously I will get this model again in exchange and will probably not even touch a Sony brand camera again after this experience, given Sony's notororius difficult warranty support. Quite a shame. This could be a great camera. Judging by by the number of similar complaints I see here, looks to me like a they have quality control problem. Which means no more Sony cameras for me. I would have only given this a 1/2 star if it was an option. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Setting the record straight.
There was a reviewer who stated that this camera made an "annoying jingle" everytime you turned it on and was told by Sony's technical support that it was unable to be turned off. Don't let that sway your opinion on this buying this amazing camera because after playing around with it for about 5 minutes, I figured out how to turn it off.

5-0 out of 5 stars sounds can be turned off!
I almost wouldn't have bought this wonderful cam (Sony Cybershot DSC-T9) because I read one of the reviews on this board: Somebody asserts that the sounds couldn't be turned off - that's wrong. It is very easy.

4-0 out of 5 stars DSC T9
I've owned the T9 now for just about 3 weeks.I purchased it after some extensive research.Of course you never really know a product until you've had it awhile. Here's my thumb nail opinion.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great for the first 8 months or so
Aside from the fact that the camera was eating batteries like they were M&Ms (no matter how powerful the battery -- even rechargeables), we were very pleased with the camera and dock after receiving it as a gift right after Christmas.I hadn't had good experiences with Kodak's digital cameras previously and was excited that they had improved so much!
5-0 out of 5 stars You Won't Be Sorry
I bought the Kodak Easyshare Z700 Digital Camera and Kodak Printer Dock (Series 3)a month ago and I am blown away by the beautiful pictures I can take with this camera and the ease of printing them with the printer dock. This is my first digital camera and I was afraid that with my limited knowledge, I would really goof everything up, but this camera is practically goof proof. The printer is equally easy to use. Don't be afraid of this camera and printer if you have no experience with a digital. If I can do it, anyone can.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super easy to use camera & printer
Love this camera and printer. The most simply camera and printer to use that I have ever purchased.Wonderful color prints. I have several digital cameras and this is by far my favorite. Great protective coating that is on prints. You can handle the photograph immediately when it is finished printing and it does not harm you photograph. Highly recommend this bundle. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars great outdoor, but not with the flash
I bought this about 18months ago when it first came out.At the time, the cheapest I can find with a discount was about $260.Price was, I thought it was fair.Looking at them now, it's still a good bargain...for a reason I later found out.As a novice user of cameras, I bought it mostly because of the name Nikon as I wanted something that was well known. Thus far, the camera has functioned as new w/o any problem. It is well built, small size, and the pictures taken in 5m have great detail, especially looking at it on computer.
5-0 out of 5 stars Quality pictures--Worth every penny!!!!
I've owned this camera for over a year and I'm still amazed at the image quality of the pics! I now see that this camera is about half as much of the price I paid for it but I still think it's worth every penny. It's light, user friendly and compact--I carry it in my purse's side pocket. Ideal to take anywhere with me! Highly recommended!

2-0 out of 5 stars Flash is a huge problem
Two stars because the LCD screen is great, as is the lens.

4-0 out of 5 stars jpeg vs. RAW
I just noticed the reviewer who was upset that the new Canon G7 does not offer a RAW format. As a professional photographer... just wanted to offer a couple of comments on that subject. In my humble opinion, shooting in RAW format, in many cases, is a waste of time... even in most professional work situations. The extra steps in workflow, required by the RAW format, are simply not justified in the majority of photography work situations. I have sold many prints, posters, and stock images produced from jpeg files. I have also been published in magazines and travel books using jpeg images almost exclusively. Many photographers have come to view the jpeg format as the "amatuer" format and RAW as the "professional" format, which I believe is really not accurate. I know a lot of professional photographers who make extensive use of the jpeg format (no matter what camera they are using). I have not found a photogographer or editior, yet, who can actually tell the difference in a print produced from a RAW file and one produced from a high quality jpeg file out of the same camera. I have had this same discussion with a former photographer from National Geographic. He stated that he could not tell the difference in a print from a jpeg file and a RAW file either. He said that he, always, shoots in jpeg format. Yes, I understand the additional ability to "tweak" an image in RAW, but if the image is correctly exposed to begin with... very little "tweaking" should be necessary anyway...and working in jpeg is a much faster and more efficient workflow for me. Just my opinion, but I could care less that the G7 does not offer a RAW format. It seems like a great camera to me. Looking forward to trying one out. The feature set seems to be extraordinary.

1-0 out of 5 stars BEWARE!RAW capabilities have been REMOVED from this camera!
For all the vast improvements made to this camera line -- if you are a serious amateur photographer who uses RAW file format -BEWARE: Canon has REMOVED the RAW file capabilities from this camera update!I own a Canon G5 and was SO excited to see the improvements listed with the new version of the Power Shot camera; most importantly doubling the megapixels and addressing the camera 'shake' issues that are a serious problem with macro and night photography with the G5.However upon reviewing the data I did not see RAW listed as a file format, only JPEG (a lossy file format). So I picked up the phone and called Canon directly.Their response was, "Canon HAS removed the RAW capabilities from the Power Shot G series cameras.Canon has decided to reserve RAW format only for their more professional SLR series cameras".Well Canon has just lost a sale with me.I'm not interested at this time in their more cumbersome Rebel with interchangeable lenses (nor in one of their even more expensive SLRs).I am a serious photographer that wants a camera with RAW capabilities that is small enough to throw into my bag and run out the door on a whim.I went digital to get away from a large bulky heavy camera and all of the equipment needed to take good photographs. For now, I'll keep my G5 and hope Canon decides to correct this misguided mistake with the next generation Power Shot G8.And if that day doesn't come.... Well I will just have to look elsewhere.Don't mess with me Canon! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Incorrect Product Description
The camera itself makes me quite happy.Unfortunately the Pentax 18-55mm f/3.5 - 5.6 lens described above (1 inch / 4.9 ounces) does not (as far as I can see) exist.Instead Amazon ships the standard Pentax 18-55mm f/3.5 - 5.6 kit lens... not bad but it can hardly be described as "hardly protrud[ing] from the camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth it
I own a pentax zx 30 35 mm camera with a 28mm-210mm lens on it. I was shopping a while for a digital camera, bought the canon powershot a620.But sold it after 4 weeks, I feel more natural with a SLR style than the point and shoot camera. Finally after much research, landed on this one, knowing very well that there are superior cameras out there in the market. And I never needed a camera in 8MP - 10MP range. 4 MP - 6MP is all (my opinion) one needs for prints of 4 x 6 sizes.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great camera - BE CAREFUL with legacy K-mount lenses
Great camera...good quality pictures... easy to use... all of these are true of the K100D.

5-0 out of 5 stars Epson 4990 PhotoScanner
I needed a machine to scan my collection of transparencies and color negatives. This model seemed to have what was needed. After loading the software, I began with Monaco EZ color and ran the calibrations and created the profiles for transparencies and reflective prints; this was fast and fun. I was surprised with the closely matching results.

1-0 out of 5 stars Watch out for film deposits under the glass!
My six months old 4990 has a noticeable film deposits under the glass. The glass was clear when I bought it. Apparently other owners of the 4990 have had identicle problems (discussions at howtofixcomputers.com). Epson will clean it for free if the 4990 is still under warranty, but this is not a one time problem, but a continuous one (you have to pay Epson to clean the glass after warranty expires). The film is visible when the 4990 is powered up and the interior light is on. With the lid out of the way, look at the glass at 10 to 30 degrees angle. I hope your glass is clear. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Looks good, feels good, but quality, totally unreliable
I may have a camera that is defective, but i found that this camera can only take a crisp photo in excellent OUTDOOR only light conditions. But even then after a while, only ever 4th picture would come out. I am a true lover of the self portrait, but every time you try, the people in this close up come out black, and the back senery comes out great... This could just be my own loss in skills, but i dont think so since my last Casio 5MP, did not have this problem, even though it also had a pentax lens.
4-0 out of 5 stars Firmware 1.01 update fixed the lag time
Just picked up my Pentax A10 at Costco a couple of day ago and here's my thoughts.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Travel Camera!!
My Pentax Optio S died in Sapporo and I didn't have time or inclination for a travel repair, so I went in to Yodobashi Camera to see what they had.I looked at some Cannon but settled on Pentax again figuring I wouldn't have a steep learning curve.I was right. It runs very similarly to all the Optio family. It's slightly larger than the Optio S line but is still as small as it gets.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed
This is a very basic camera, easy to use, and easy to transfer pictures, either through the software or SD card. At first, I was appalled at the low battery life, but then I read the manual which said using the flash and/or LCD screen excessively wears out the batteries. It's a bit of an inconvinience for some to use the little boxy see through thing instead of the LCD but I don't mind; I've had a manual camera for most of my life and I'm used to it anyways. It takes nice, sharp pictures, though it does get a bit grainy if you zoom in too much (it has digital, not optical zoom). I also love the fact that it's pretty small, relatively lightweight, and durable (I've dropped it loads of times and it still works like a charm), so I just throw it in whatever bag or purse I'm using for the day. The video capture thing is pretty cool too, though there isn't any sound, it's a nice bonus feature. Considering I got this camera for [...] bucks at Fry's, I am more than satisfied.
5-0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed
I really like this camera. I use it for photos that I take for my Romantic Oregon Coast Vacations web site [...]

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality Product that Doesn't Disappoint
The Philips Digital Picture Frame deserves its fine reviews. In fact, it's the first picture frame that lives up to the potential of the product category. I've found other picture frames to be disappointing. Not so with this frame. It works well on many levels; it's attractive, delivers a bright and detailed image, has a satisfying user interface with intelligent options, even the packaging is unusually clever. Nice job Philips.

I got this camera for use on my Yamaha Rhino while off roading. The camera does a good job taking moving video's. It has a fluid motion not ajerky one like I initially thought it would. For the money the camera does a great job.

4-0 out of 5 stars for what its worth
I was able to find these locally for 59$. I picked one up to use as a helmet cam for when i go kite buggying (using a parafoil kite to power a 3 wheeled buggy across the land. lots of fun! and a great sport check out windpowersports.com for more info) Anyway, for the price this thing is great. If the resolution was a little better than 640x480 and fps was better than 15 this would be awesome. the only thing i dont like about this cam is that it has a 1gb limitation on the size of sd card you can use with it. i really wanted to get a 2gb or 4gb card for this but it looks like 1gb is the limit. the best part is that it is self contained. no wires whatsoever. the still camera is decent but not great. if youre looking for a budget helmet cam for recreational use than look no further. if youre looking for great quality resolution, you may have to spend 2x or 3x as much at least. supposedly another beefed up version of this cam will be put out by Oregon scientific soon. If they have listened to what we didnt like about this cam and they improve on it, we should have a gem on our hands. ... Read more

This camera is sweet.Just got pictures back from Walmart. Can't even tell they came from a digital camera.Look as good as a 35mm.Just take a hour and read the manual and you won't belive how easy it is to use after that. The huge screen is awsome.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice camera, light and compact, easy to use.
I bought this camera because I wanted a smaller, lighter, digital camera with a larger LCD screen.I am very pleased with the quality of this camera for this price range.I findit simple to use and just right for someone who enjoys a point and shoot camera without too many confusing buttons on the outside. The movie mode is great for capturing those special moments when you do not have your cam corder handy. It takes great pictures and is easy to carry around with you. ... Read more
