Editorial Review

Built for hassle-free operation, the Canon Sure Shot BF-10 is a fully automatic 35mm camera with a fixed focus 26mm lens. With a focus range of 3.9 feet to infinity, practically all of your photos will be clear and sharp. The large and easy to see through viewfinder helps you compose your shots, and the green LED light lets you know that the camera is ready to shoot. The BF-10 handles shutter speed and exposure on its own, so you don't have to worry about the proper settings.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Canon Sure Shot Owl PF Date
Purchased the camera at Sears on sale for [money].Having read other people's reviews of this camera and other cameras that I own, I must be lucky or else I know what I'm doing. I've taken close up and landscape shots outdoors and I am very impressed with the sharpness of the 35mm/f3.8 all-glass lens on the OWL PF. I've had other cameras that cost more but the picture was not as sharp.I just do not have a problem with out-of-focus pictures.I think people stand too close to the subject they are photographing, hence a blurred picture and a washout from the flash.I use Fujifilm Superia 400, which I like because it has fine grain for 400 speed film. However, I have used the flash to a certain degree, I took a picture of some objects as well as people indoors at close range, 3-4 feet away and the flash did NOT wash out the picture. It has a simple autofocus system in it and I have found that it works just fine. I don't know how much abuse it would take, but for a "bang around" point and shoot camera I think this is worth the money. I particularly like the large viewfinder. I wear glasses at times and have no trouble taking pictures with this camera. Also, it has midroll rewind which is nice because I'm not one to "finish out a roll."1-0 out of 5 stars Too much flash
I found the flash to be too bright, and many photos were out of focus. The camera will be added to the garage sale pile this summer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little camera!
This camera is loaded with features, but still easy to use. My Mom is a professional photographer and proclaimed this the best point and shoot ever. Bought one for herself, for me and my brother as well! She especially likes that it has sports/action capabilities. I have fun using the captions now and then (they are optional, so you can turn them off completely if you don't want them). It's nice and compact. Most importantly, it takes beautiful pictures!

5-0 out of 5 stars One great little camera
Canon's Sure Shot Classic 120 series continues the Canon tradition of pushing the technology envelope further ahead. New and improved features include a powerful 38-120mm built-in zoom lens with aspherical optics, a 7-mode Best-Shot Dial for convenient and automatic camera settings, a 3-point dual hybrid autofocus system, built-in dioptric viewfinder adjustment control, and a high-efficiency built-in Light Guide flash. 5-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased with this little gem!!!
Before I start, I should tell you that I am no "pro" when it comes to cameras or photography.I have been taking "basic" pictures with "basic" cameras for about 20 years now...nothing fancy just the usual vacation, birthday and some amateur wildlife and landscape-type shots during my travels.Like most people though, I always wanted nice clear pictures with as little "fuss" as possible and up until a few months ago, was served quite well by my trusty Olympus Epic Stylus Zoom 80.It travelled all around the world with me numerous times over the years and took beautiful pictures of everything from icebergs in Antarctica to lions in Zaire! After many years of trouble-free service, my faithful Olympus finally broke down and so I began the task of researching a replacement.Within a month or so I had it narrowed down to three: another Olympus Epic Stylus Zoom 80, a Minolta Explorer EX Zoom (75 mm) and a Canon Sure Shot Classic Zoom 120.After much research (especially reading valuable consumer reviews like the ones listed in here) I determined that one of these three cameras were going to be able to give me what I was after in a simple, inexpensive "point and shoot" zoom camera. Each had their merits and also their detriments according to different people's opinions. The Olympus was the lightest and had the best lens quality, but had consistant problems with the "clam-shell" cover drive mechanism jamming. The Minolta had the best ergonomics and had a wider starting field at 28 mm, but had poor aesthetics. The Canon had the longest zoom at 120 mm and sophisticated personal setting abilities, but had issues regarding an awkward flash location and a difficult battery cover apparatus. All three camera's came in within about $80 of each other and were highly recommended in most editor and consumer reviews I read.I did some "hands-on" research by visiting numerous camera shops to see how each "felt".Most of the salespeople I encountered couldn't tell me much more than what the basic features and specifications were for each of the three cameras. It finally came time to make a decision because I had a vacation to thepicturesque province of Newfoundland in eastern Canada coming up.I liked each of the cameras, but I finally decided on the Canon for the following reasons: firstly, I felt confident in the overall quality of the "brand".Canon makes good solid cameras and they back it up with the longest and most comprehensive warranty of the bunch (5 years).Secondly, I knew from all the reviews I had read that "regular people" like me found the camera easy to use and took awesome pictures using all of the numerous settings on the camera.Thirdly, I found the Canon to be the best priced (albeit I purchased the camera at a clearance price about $100.00 below MSRP).Finally, the shop I bought it from gave me a 30 day money-back guarantee...no questions asked! They also threw in a roll of ISO 400 and a roll of ISO 800 Fuji film with free processing for me!Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars A disappointment
I shopped and shopped for a camera that I would use a on a big 6 month trip I was taking.I decided on the Canon because of the superior lens and wanted a clamshell, for the durability. However, with this camera, I found that the clamshell lenscover would often slip out of groove and thus even when I would "open" the camera, it would not get triggered to turn on.So I'd have to open and close it a bunch of times in order to get it to work. Then, after about a year, the camera started to take fuzzy pictures all the time and neither a tripod, new batteries or faster film seemed to fix it.I am so irritated that I spent the money for a camera I got so little use out of.

3-0 out of 5 stars truth in advertisement

on this page. I, however, purchased the camera knowing full well that I would not receive the caption model, and I still suggest that this camera is a real deal.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good camera, clear pics, pretty easy to use
Overall I'm happy with this camera. I had to replace a point and shoot pentax. I'm pretty happy with the pics I get with this point and shoot. I've gotten a few blurry ones, that I may have moved. Unfortunately the price wasn't as good when I bought it. It has an optional remote control which I was used to on my pentax and the zoom is longer. Overall a good camera.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent camera ,highlyrecommended!
I was surprised to read all the negative reviews about the canon z155. My own experience with this camera has been basically positive. Since purchasing the camera 7 months ago, the majority of my prints have been sharp, clear, colors bright and true to life. The only drawback i can think of is the pictures do tend to blur when using full zoom without a tripod. I dont think this is specifically Canon's problem, though, because photography books all recommend using a tripod when using a high zoom. At 155mm, one needs a very steady hand or the pictures blur. When I do use a tripod, even my pictures at the highest zoom come out crystal clear. I'd recommendthis camera anytime!

2-0 out of 5 stars Inconsistent
Although my canon rebel SLR is incredible and we've had great canon's before, this one is very disappointing and inconsistent.I've had the same problems as others with blurry pictures and delays in taking photos after pushing the button.I'd recommend finding another camera or upgrading to a SLR from Canon (though pricey). ...
