Battery Eater
This is an okay camera for your first one, but it is a battery eater!..After about 20 pictures with flash, you need to change the batteries.Maybe I am naive but come on!Also...the flash stinks.You need there to be a LOT of light in the room to even make out an object and this is WITH the flash.Without it is just as bad.

Don't buy this camera.
I wish I had bought instant lottery tickets with the money I spent on this camera. It takes horrible photos and takes a long time to do so. I would sell it if it wouldn't give me tremendous guilt. I think I'll throw it off of something very tall.

~*~For Any Singer!!~*~
If your a person who loves to sing then this is it. A Karaoke machine would be the best present. This Memorex karaoke machine is great. It has a cd player that plays graphics on your T.V. The graphics are the lyrics to the song on the cd. It has two cassette players. It comes with one microphone and a sample cd with four songs on it. There is even a handle on top so its easy to carry. Its very easy to connect to your T.V. On the karaoke machine you can have an echo or not have an echo. You can change the volume on it. You can record your voice onto a cassette also. There are also more things that you can do but I wont list them all. Its a great present for any singer!!

Memorex 5001 Karaoke
A good machine that's a lot of fun.The dual mike jacks are nice so more than one person can sing.The variable speed for the dual cassette deck allows you to adjust the music to fit your own voice range, though it does slow down or speed up the music a little.I recommend adding external speakers if you're using it in bigger rooms or for parties.Overall a good, dependable machine.

Pretty dam good for the price!
I've had this camera now for going on 2 years and I must say, it a great camera for the money. It's small and doesn't really take up too much storage. I must recommend that you get a real good case for it. You don't really want this camera exposed too much to elements..or children in my situation. I've had my three year old pull the camera off a kitchen table and drop it (no noticable change in performance.) I use this camera for work and for family events. It's just been great to have all that storage capacity. There have been a few times, however, that I've been less than happy with it's performance. For example, at my nephews graduation, the dark ambient light caused the camera to lose track of the subject. It gets confused in dark settings, even with the Best shot feature set properly. I also don't like how it takes sometimes up to 30 seconds to fully get powered up and ready to shoot. In most cases where it takes that long, you've missed a great shot. But seconds after it's ready, it takes really good pictures. I've never been dissapointed with the image quality. It captures very good details. So, I highly recommend this camera for the everyday user.

Excellent camera-Excellent Value
I am not a professional photographer, but I wanted top end image quality.This may not be the camera for the serious photography professional, but an excellent camera for the rest of us. The image quality may not be the ultimate best, but it is very, very good and the camera does not cost $5000+.A major reason for purchase was the bundled 340MB IBM Microdrive which is a must for shooting a lot of images at the fine setting.I recently went on a vacation/college visiting trip.I fired off over 200 images at fine setting and came home after two weeks on road with 80-90 images to spare on the drive-excellent, excellent feature for the price.This camera eats batteries, the included AA batteries are a joke, they were gone in 5 minutes.Advise buying two sets of NiMH and/or a set of Lithium Ion batteries and keep one set charged to alternate with-that gives you all the battery capacity you need (until fuel cells are available).Also a must is the AC adapter.Two minor complaints: 1)If you turn the camera on with the lens cap on, it shuts off automatically and the manual warns this can cause damage to the camera.Guess how many times this tends to happen?! 2) The camera should have a watch battery to keep the time and date current, it doesn't.If it goes without power it loses that info which has to re-entered at each shooting session if there are long time lapses between sessions.All in all I am very satisfied with the performance, features and storage capacity of the camera.Great value for your money! ... Not the S.A.M.E. as you might think
I am a part of SKYWARN for the NWS, so I thought this radio would be perfect for me. I had to wait for 2 months to get one (via Amazon). I tried for a month to get SAME to work, but no luck. Turns out that once you decode the programing instuctions and set up the codes, SAME may not work if you are too far away from the NOAA station. While I can receive 4 of the 6 NOAA stations, none of them are strong enough to trigger the SAME. Based on feedback from others, I would pick a different radio if you have a real need for SAME.

Great radio! Nearly invisible instructions!
The OS WR 102 is a terrific radio, especially considering the price here on Amazon. It is essential to have a reliable weather radio since mid-Mississippi is subject to killer tornadoes and fearsome thunderstorms. I will certainly feel safer with this one close by.

My only complaint: the instruction sheet is printed in a typeface so small I had to enlarge it on a copy machine in order to read it. While the instructions are clear, the layout is sensible, and the programming relatively simple, trying to decipher 4-point type made the whole experience needlessly frustrating. C'mon, guys! Your radio is a really good one! Why diminish a fine product with nearly invisible -- and thereby unreadable -- instructions!?

A radio with your safety in mind
Living in the tornado belt always has your ear to the radio, when at home I use the Television for our reports unless the power goes out like it does over and over doing a storm. This is when the new radio I bought comes in very handy. The WR102 comes to the rescue, with its strong signal and its storm information we know as much as one can know about tornados in our area. When I leave home on a day that looks like there could be a storm I carry the radio on my belt just in case I need to know whats going on around me so I can protect my family. The radio also has a light that flashes from green to red letting you know that a severe weather warning is in affect. Its a great radio and every one that lives where weather can be a problem should own one. With the WR102 you don't even have to listen to it unless a storm is near and it will turn on and give you the weather reports in your area. If you don't live in an area like I do where tornados are a problem, then the radio will inform you of any types of weather conditions. If you live on the coast and own a boat the radio is a must.
