5-0 out of 5 stars Great Beginner SLR Camera to Grow With!!
I bought this camera a year ago as my starter camera to learn about film photography. I really didn't know anything about photography when I purchased it, and I still have A LOT to learn, however, I feel as though it's a camera that can grow with me. It has automatic presets that make taking photos for a novice handy - not much thought required, but also allows you to set manual settings so you can experiment and learn.

Another review mentioned the body being cheap. I disagree. The body seems fine to me, and to be quite honest, a camera is not something that you should be rough with. Set it down gently and handle it properly as to avoid ruining the lens or some component within the camera.

The pictures have been fantastic. I highly recommend this camera for someone who is starting out and wants to learn more. It will grow with you. Enjoy!

3-0 out of 5 stars Realize what entry level means...
Being an entry level SRL, the camera body is cheap & light because it is made out of plastic. This more than fine for someone who'd like an SRL to use for specal occasions - kids'birthdays, graduations, or the occasional family road trip.

But if you're a serious photogapher, who plans doing much heavier photography and / or traveling, let me suggest you look for a sturdier camera, since my experience with this camera wasn't very good. The body was very easily scratched, and basically burned out less than 2 years after I bought it.

So if you're a photo enthuseist looking for a good camera - please consider the fact that this camera wears out quickly (partly because of the plastic), and sooner of later you may be looking for a sturdier body.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent entry level camera
I love the camera but it seems difficult to find some accessories which I had come to rely on with my old camera.I may just have to upgrade to another Canon SLR.

I bought the Rebel 2000 over a year and a half ago. My previous camera was a twenty-year-old Canon AE-1. I was very happy with the AE-1 but was having trouble seeing to focus in low-light situations. So far the Rebel 2000 has been a great camera - I think I've used every feature at least once.I added a 100 mm portrait lens.

My only dissatifaction is that I haven't been able to find a remote or off-camera shutter release that works.I was sold a Canon Remote Control RC1 which did not work.I like to use an off-camera shutter trigger of some kind in portrait and low-light conditions to minimize camera shake.I also can't find the cable to connect the hot shoe to my studio lights.

On the whole, I am happy with the Canon Rebel 2000. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Value and Performance.
I have purchased two of these lenses (autofocus version) for our Nikon N-70.I dropped the first lens and something came loose. This is a superb lens.I studied the Modern Photography Magazine ratings to select this lens, which was/is the sharpest zoom lens in the 20-120 range. Not even Nikon or Canon can beat this lens for sharpness across the focal range.Spherical Aberration is marginally higher than an average lens with this focal range, so you wouldn't want to shoot professional architecture photos with this lens.Tamron makes a semi-pro lens with an F-2.8 across a similar zoom range, but it is no sharper than this lens.

5-0 out of 5 stars 2nd Essential Combo
Although this filter set duplicates the UV filter found in the other 62mm package offered at Amazon, it nonetheless contains a polarizing filter-- very useful in saturating skytones and eliminating the glare from polarized light usually seen in reflections off glass and shiny materials.

The 812 filter is useful as well to traditional photography, warming up scenes for portraits and other shots, although for digital cameras the effect can be created by curve, level, or digital filter manipulation.

Nonetheless, having these three in addition to Tiffen's other filter set rounds out the most common-use filters nicely.

Added note: This is the filter set to use with the Olympus E-10's base lens. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for Canon Rebel 2000
Canon with attached lense (for example Sigma 70-210);
another lense (Canon 22-55 or more); films and other stuff.
Nice appearance, good bag. Bag from Canon is more expensive
and doesn't have enough space.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good fit for Olympus 3040 with accessories
This bag is a very good fit for anOlympus 3040 digital camera set including the 1.4x teleextender and the 0.8 xwide conversion lenses. It fits well the FL-40 falsh with the necessary bracket and extra batteries, cleaning kit and the Olympus smart media card holder.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Travel Bag
This is a great little bag for traveling. I use it with a Fuji 4900Z SLR like digital camera and it works great! Lots of padding to keep things safe. Plenty of zippered pockets to carry everything I need to take pictures for a day on the road. I can carry the camera, extra batteries, extra SmartMedia, as well as all of the cables, instructions for the camera and even the battery recharger and still have extra room to spare! The only negative (and it's minor) is that the carry strap is not detachable. I just used the bag for two weeks in Central Europe and have no complaints. I highly recommend this bag! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Just OK
The BP-200 adds functionality to my Rebel 2000, but admittedly I'm a bit disappointed. It definately has a cheap feel to it.It does help with the balance on the camera and is egonomically better than the standard grip.I just wish it felt more substantial.

5-0 out of 5 stars BP-200
I recently purchased the Canon BP-200 and would like to say that it compliments the camera nicely. If you own a rebel eos 300 series, then you know how light the camera is (Too light that is!).The battery pack adds a good weight to steady those camera shots and for those with tripods, there is a hole for a mount on the bottom of the battery pack! Also, to avoid circuit discharge, common sense tells you that you don't leave batteries in any mechanism when not in use.Canon has reasssured me that under proper use, the product is guaranteed to work with the EOS rebel 300/2000 and will not cause any malfunction. Two thumbs up for this accesory!

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY USEFUL
It helps!!
1) Camera looks more professional
2) Camera feels heavier
3) Gives a very good grip
4) Has an extra shutter release button, makes handling easier
5) Saves on costly batteries

4-0 out of 5 stars Beats the Manual!
Being new to the SLR-world, I bought this book because the owner's manual was horrible. I was absolutely clueless with the SLR lingo (aperture, shutter speed, f-stop, etc.)

Although this manual was a great help, I would still recommend the novice user to sign up for a course at the local community college or through the county, if such programs are available in their area. I took a 10-week class through my county's recreation center that was very helpful. Nevertheless, I still reference this handy booklet from time to time and the compact size makes it easy to carry around; mine lives in my camera bag.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent features at decent price
Good camera with excellent results during day time. Results in the evening or night time vary drastically. It definitely needs an additional flash light to repeat its good performance during the night time. Very light in weight compared to other competing models. Also in my exprience works very well with Kodak Gold 200. Its a good camera to have for the first timers with SLRs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book if you already own any Model Canon EOS
This book purports to aid in choosing and operating an EOS Rebel 2000 camera. Henninges and Snell explain each feature and function of the camera in exquisite detail. While this book is a boon to EOS owners it is of little or no help to someone still in the shopping stage. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it says on the box
Don't get too hung up on the decision if you are considering this tripod and on paper it does everything you want it to do. Take it from me, it is amazing value for money. I purchased mine from Fry's Electronics for ten spot more than here (doh!) and I'm still happy as a happy thing with it.

It does just about everything you could want a portable tripod to do, I bought it for the purpose of throwing in the back of my truck rather than trying to lug a big old studio 'pod around with me wherever I go (I hate to miss a shot for want of a steady spot) and in the use it has had over the last few weeks, it seems to be a great mix of size, features and weight. Sure, it isn't super duper rigid, sure the fluidity of the joints leaves something to be desired, but for goodness sake, this isn't some high end carbon fibre/magnesium alloy poser 'pod, look at the price! A 'pod for the common man!

In terms of negatives, I wish it cost five spot more and came with a bag (tripod bags are useful sometimes, though not something you can't do without), and a slightly more 'finger accessible' tripod screw might be nice (if you want the quick release puck for the tripod on tight, you do it with a coin, works well and keeps it compact, just a little inconvenient if you don't have a coin to hand.)

All in all, a tremendous piece of kit. Amazing price, here especially. Does what you need.

5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLANT!! BETTER THAN EXPECTED!!!
When I chose to buy this tripod I was a little skeptical about purchasing without really seeing it.I was very lucky. This tripod is everything I wanted. Lightweight. Easy to use.It has a level so that you can be sure that your pictures will be accurately shot and not crooked. It moves in several different directtions so that you can shoot from most angles.I carry this thing around everywhere I go!I thougth it came with its own travel bag, probably one drawback to it. But overall a great tripod.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get whatyou pay for.
I just got my CX-570 in the mail today and it seems to be everything that the review said it was.I'm just a sometime photographer but I needed a new tripod that was not too expensive, but of good quality. This one seems very solid, and has all the necessary features that I would ever need. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Nice, but a little overpriced
This is a great switch I use on my Canon SLR.I use it primarily for night shots and anything else that requires a slow shutter speed. My only complaint is that I feel its a tad too expensive. An item like this should cost [less].

5-0 out of 5 stars Its Been Over a Year
and absolutely no complaints :)

I take plenty of scenic shots and time elpased photos so this has been an indispensable accessory.

4-0 out of 5 stars handy and necessary gadget
What would I do without my remote switch?I would cry real tears.I bought it for nighttime photography and long exposures without camera shake but I use it for almost everything.Even portraiture benefits from this nifty little tool as subjects can be fooled into relaxing their faces while one is not behind the lens.I would have given it five stars but the cord is slightly shorter than I would like. ...
