5-0 out of 5 stars Shockingly good prints
Used it with my Canon i960 printer and Digital Rebel.
Prints are stunning.Couldn't ask for more.Printed the same pictures on Kodak inkjet paper, and the Canon blew the Kodak paper away.

3-0 out of 5 stars Canon Photo Paper Pro- 1 Year Later
    .
    .

Stored in 8x10 vinyl binders and page protectors. I made the prints with at least one inch white borders, the one edge exposed to theair has yellowed up to about 1/2 inch in. The rest of the paper has remained unchanged and the image itself appears unchanged. 5x7 prints with no exposed edges have no yellowing....

Black and white darkroom RC prints in the same binder...snow white EDGES!!!

I am still keeping that B&W darkroom....

4-0 out of 5 stars Great, but overpriced - other Canon paper just as good
I tested my new Canon i960 with a variety of papers. Like most printers, the output is MUCH better when using the manufacture's own paper (as opposed to the cheaper generic paper), but there is no need to buy the most expensive "Pro" paper as neither I nor my wife could discern ANY difference between it and Canon's "Photo paper pluss - glossy". There may be a benefit to the "Pro" paper that cannot be seen (lasts longer?) but at almost twice the cost it is not worth it - both papers will produce the highest quality prints on your Canon printer (I think they look better than the ones I get from the photo lab). ... Editorial Review

Seven years after he earned his first screen credit as the writer of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, former Rolling Stone writer Cameron Crowe made his directorial debut with this acclaimed romantic comedy starring John Cusack and Ione Skye as unlikely lovers on the cusp of adulthood. The casting is perfect, and Crowe's rookie direction is appropriately unobtrusive, no doubt influenced by his actor-loving, Oscar®-winning mentor, James L. Brooks. But the real strength of Crowe's work is his exceptional writing, his timely grasp of contemporary rhythms and language (he's frequently called "the voice of a generation"), and the rich humor and depth of his fully developed characters. In Say Anything... Cusack and Skye play recent high school graduates enjoying one final summer before leaping into a lifetime of adult responsibilities. Lloyd (Cusack) is an aspiring kickboxer with no definite plans; Diane (Skye) is a valedictorian with intentions to further her education in Europe. Together they find unlikely bliss, but there's also turbulence when Diane's father (John Mahoney)--who only wants what's best for his daughter--is charged with fraud and tax evasion. Favoring strong performances over obtrusive visual style, Crowe focuses on his unique characters and the ambitions and fears that define them; the movie's a treasure trove of quiet, often humorous revelations of personality. Lili Taylor and Eric Stoltz score high marks for memorable supporting roles, and Cusack's own sister Joan is perfect in scenes with her onscreen and offscreen brother. A rare romantic comedy that's as funny as it is dramatically honest, Say Anything... marked the arrival of a gifted writer-director who followed up with the underrated Singles before scoring his first box-office smash with Jerry Maguire. --Jeff Shannon ... 4-0 out of 5 stars My favorite romantic comedy
This movie is wonderful.I saw it for the first time when it first came out and it has held a special place in my heart ever since. It is a simple movie, but that is where it holds most of its charm. The relationship is beautiful and feels and looks honest and sincere. When the love in a love story is as believable as this, you can't go wrong. The chemistry just works and John Cusack's character is somewhat of a hero, in my mind. This character is a true romantic, whose weaknesses are as charming as his strengths.

5-0 out of 5 stars my own boombox tale
I tried holding the boombox blasting In Your Eyes outside of my girlfriend's house one night. She looked out her window, said what the hell are you doing? And that was that. She'd never seen the bloody movie!!

    5-0 out of 5 stars I still cry .......
I love this movie, it still give's me the goose bumps and I still cry when he holds that boom box up playing that song, it's still so power full. I think every woman wants a man that will do that! Excellent movie, you must buy it! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Like a soda pop left open all night, Bueller seems to have lost its effervescence over time. Sure, Matthew Broderick is still appealing as the perennial truant, Ferris, who fakes his parents out and takes one memorable day off from school. Jeffrey Jones is nasty and scheming as the principal who's out to catch him. Jennifer Grey is winning as Ferris's sister (who ends up making out in the police station with a prophetic vision of Charlie Sheen). But there's a definite sense that this film was of a particular time frame: the '80s. It's still fun, though. There's Ferris singing "Twist and Shout" during a Chicago parade, and a lovely sequence in the Art Institute. But don't get it and expect your kids to love it the way you did. Like it or not, it's yours alone. --Keith Simanton ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ferris Bueller
This is a great movie by john hughes. I would reccommend Ferris Bueller's day off to alot of people. Whoever doesn't like it gets shot! lol
5 stars for this great movie

PS: never watch the TV show called Ferris Bueller

5-0 out of 5 stars I was 3 when this movie came out, and I love it!So boo to
the naysayers who seem to think that only someone who was a teen in the 80s will "get it."How could you not get it?It's sarcastic, comic genius. That is, if you have ANY intellect whatsoever and a sense of humor.

I didn't see this movie until I was a senior in high school myself, and I have LOOOVED it ever since. It protrays certain humorous/ridiculous/ironic qualities of being in high school and coming of age--that do NOT change over time. There is nothing in this movie couldn't be understood by a teen of the 90s or 2000s.The only exception would be someone who goes into it thinking "This is a dumb 80s movie," (which by the way, I think is an oxymoron).heheh.:)

1-0 out of 5 stars Borish, overly hyped garbage.
I will forever and always be puzzled as to why people like this movie.I saw it when I was a kid (walked out of the movie due to boredom). I saw it when I was an adult (walked out of the movie due to boredom).I don't remember the plot. All I know is it was one heck of a boring film. Like watching grass grow. Oh.and definitely NOT! funny. If you want to watch a funny classic about some highschool kid being goofy or befuddled I'd recommend - "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" or "Bid and Teds excellent Adventure"."Ferris Bueller's Day Off" rank up on my list as one of the worst popular movies of all times. ... Editorial Review

It's, like, Shakespeare, man! This good-natured and likeable update of The Taming of the Shrew takes the basics of Shakespeare's farce about a surly wench and the man who tries to win her and transfers it to modern-day Padua High School. Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles) is a sullen, forbidding riot grrrl who has a blistering word for everyone; her sunny younger sister Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) is poised for high school stardom. The problem: overprotective and paranoid Papa Stratford (a dryly funny Larry Miller) won't let Bianca date until boy-hating Kat does, which is to say never. When Bianca's pining suitor Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) gets wind of this, he hires the mysterious, brooding Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) to loosen Kat up. Of course, what starts out as a paying gig turns to true love as Patrick discovers that underneath her brittle exterior, Kat is a regular babe. The script, by Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith, is sitcom-funny with peppy one-liners and lots of smart teenspeak; however, its cleverness and imagination doesn't really extend beyond its characters' Renaissance names and occasional snippets of real Shakespearean dialogue. What makes the movie energetic and winning is the formula that helped make She's All That such a big hit: two high-wattage stars who look great and can really act. Ledger is a hunk of promise with a quick grin and charming Aussie accent, and Stiles mines Kat's bitterness and anger to depths usually unknown in teen films; her recitation of her English class sonnet (from which the film takes its title) is funny, heartbreaking, and hopelessly romantic. The imperious Allison Janney (Primary Colors) nearly steals the film as a no-nonsense guidance counselor secretly writing a trashy romance novel. --Mark Englehart ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Shakespeare it is not, but it was good
I had never heard of this film. I saw it and read some of the reviews and saw that it was supposed to be a takeoff of my favorite play of all time, TAMING OF THE SHREW, by William Shakespeare. That was enough for me to buy it.

It must be admitted that the movie is very loosely based on TAMING OF THE SHREW but the operative words are VERY LOOSELY. Some of the names are right and the rough outline of the idea are there as is the shrewish nature of the elder daghter. After that, the divergance goes pretty wide. That didn't stop it from being a good show.

The premise of the story is that there are two daughters with a controlling father. Everyone wants to date the youngest daughter but there is a catch. The younger cannot date until the elder does. Since the eldest is so hard to get along with, Pop thinks that the girls will be safe well into their 40's. That doesn't stop the scheming. A boy is paid to get the elder to go out with him, opening the way for the younger. No one couted on them falling for each other.

Some of the elements of Shakespeare's play are not present. This is almost mandatory since the original is anything but politically correct. Kate, the eldest, is played as a shrew but she never becomes tamed. Her famous speech from act 5, or an analog, is not present. Neither are the identities of Bianca's suitors switched to fool the dad. As I said, it was loosely based.

I never heard of either of the girls playing the leads but they do a good job. The father seemed familiar, though I don't know his name, and did a great job in his role racking up the laughs. Other minor parts also added magnificently to the whole.

This is a great movie and lots of fun. Sit back and enjoy it. Aftwwards, check out Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's TAMING OF THE SHREW. Once you get used to the language, it too is a fun movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great movie!

i love this film, its one of my alltime faves, only partly because it introduced me to the scrumptious heath ledger (he plays patrick in this film). i first saw it at school a year or so ago, because it's like the only decent video they own which girls and boys can enjoy, and i haven't been complaining the other five hundred or so times they've shown it to us since then!I love everything about this film, heath, the music, heath, the plot, heath, the shakespeare references, heath, the humour, and did i forget to mention, heath!even if patrick was played by someone else i would still like it, i just think it has a great atmosphere and is a really fun film to watch with your friends. ... An underrated little picture, Real Genius offers a rare college comedy that doesn't rely on gross-out humor--and a look at Val Kilmer before he turned into a star. A high school whiz kid (Gabriel Jarret) arrives at a brainy college, where the crème de la crème of the science students are marshaled under an ambitious professor (expert villain William Atherton). Unbeknownst to them, the kids are working on a weapons system that the prof plans on selling to the government. The star student, and chief rabble-rouser, is played by Kilmer, in good early form as a cocky genius who hasn't lost touch with his goofy side. The director is Martha Coolidge, whose Valley Girl was one of the brightest (and most unexpected) of '80s comedies; she keeps the movie perking along and never worries about dumbing down a film that just happens to be about smart people. --Robert Horton ... 5-0 out of 5 stars It's a laser beam, Bozo!!But what's it for?
The best movies, in my opinion, are not merely entertainment. The best ones also make you think about the deeper questions in life."Real Genius" is a triumph in this regard- it's funny, it's got a good story, there's tons of memorable dialogue, and it does make you think.

In this film, a group of college kids at Pacific Tech are working on a powerful laser, and their supervising professor plans to sell it to the government. One thing that really rings true here is that the kids don't really realize WHY such a laser might be dangerous in the wrong hands- all they really want to do is make it work!

And this is the essential failure of scientists. We invent something because it can be invented, and we pretend that moral issues aren't relevant.

This is a hilarious movie, and I think it's one of Val Kilmer's best, and it really does make you think a bit. There are a lot of college kids out there, working under a research professor, who don't stop to think about the practical implications of their research.Hopefully this movie helped some of them to wake up.

5-0 out of 5 stars A 1980's cult comedy classic...
The breakout film for Val Kilmer's career, Real Genius is one of the first films to portray the "nerd" as someone cool rather than as the taped-glasses, plaid pants cliché that dominated most of the 1980s. Evolving over time into a cult classic, this can be classified as more of a generational film. Most of the people I know who grew up in the 1980s have seen it. As such, it meets the criteria to be defined as a must see movie...

When fourteen-year-old Mitch Taylor (Gabriel Jarret) receives entrance into a highly prestigious college program at Pacific Tech, he's put to work by his mentor Professor Jerry Hathaway (William Atherton) on a highly experimental and difficult project - the development of a specific type of laser. But Mitch's studies are hindered by his more laid back roommate, Chris Knight (Val Kilmer), who would rather use his genius brain to have fun rather than be used by people. Explaining that he used to be just like Mitch, he one day learned that you can't through all of life with your nose in a book.

Garnering great influence with Mitch, Chris and the rest of the students engage in some crafty shenanigans (such as turning the dorm room floor to ice - ice that turns from solid to liquid). But Chris and Mitch are foiled by the Prof. Hathaway kiss-up, loser Kent Torokvei (Robert Prescott) who is always shadowing their activities and telling Hathaway. When Mitch meets up with Jordan (Michelle Meyrink) at an auditorium where the orchestra pit has been turned into a pool, the two develop a romance. But the party is crashed by Hathaway who threatens to send Mitch home.

With the military applying pressure on Hathaway to complete the laser project, he threatens to fail Chris. With Chris and Mitch working around the clock, the project makes great progress. But the team has to enlist the help of Lazlo Hollyfeld (Jon Gries), an eccentric former student who lives in their closet, before they make the breakthrough discovery that gives them an operational laser.

Celebrating out on the town, the team ponders the implications of the laser they have created. Realizing that it will be used for assassinations, they run back to lab only to find the laser missing. When they unleash a plan to get revenge on Prof. Hathaway, Kent and the professor's house become part of a great popcorn experiment...

Rife with a number of hilarious scenes, one of the more hilarious is when Mitch, Chris, Jordan, and their friend Ick gas Kent and insert a microphone in his mouth. They then speak to Kent, pretending to be God. The entire movie is worth that scene alone, but there are countless others in this popular teen classic. If you like clever comedy, Real Genius is one film that can't miss...

Let's get this straight: Drew Barrymore started a production company to develop original scripts outside of Hollywood and the first project she chose to produce was this, a romantic comedy written by USC grads Abby Kohn and Mark Silverstein about a nerdy, virginal woman who returns to high school as an undercover reporter, finally gets to be popular, and falls in love. And Barrymore decided, as producer, that the perfect actress to play this virtuous, clean-cut, and downright annoying geek would be... Drew Barrymore? It's hard to believe that after The Wedding Singer Barrymore's not getting enough dopey, formulaic, predictable romantic comedies coming across her desk. The complete inability to buy Barrymore as unattractive, awkward, and unpopular ruins Never Been Kissed from the start, but it's doubtful a better actress could have saved it. The jokes fall flat, the romance between Barrymore and her English teacher (played by Michael Vartan) lacks chemistry, and the portrayals of high school and the newspaper newsroom is clichéd and uninspired (big surprise here: the director, Raja Gosnell, previously made Home Alone 3). Gosnell can't even give the gifted character actor, John C. Reilly, anything to do. Only David Arquette, who plays Barrymore's out-of-control brother, brings any energy to the film. --Dave McCoy ... 5-0 out of 5 stars So sweet
This movie is so sweet. It`s funny and great. It`s a classic. Watch it and enjoy it. It rocks!

2-0 out of 5 stars Ugh!
I'm not a mean person and I do like drew barymore, but this movie was not that good. Kinda stupid and drew did a poor acting job in the film about a reporter undercover at a local high school. And what is up with the way she looked? Drew use to be so cute when she was younger (Bad Girls, Boys on the side) She just looked very unattractive in this movie especially at the end with no make up on when she waited for him to kiss her, her eyes looked all big like cow eyes very far apart, and her nose looked like michael jackson's, and she was a little overweight in the movie too. Maybe I'm being harsh. She was pretty in 50 first dates and charlie's angels. I guess she is just the type to need alot of make up. She was hot years ago!!

5-0 out of 5 stars "I'm Not Josie Grossie Anymore"
Most of this Romantic Comedy takes place at the Chicago Sun-Times, and a local Highschool.Josie Gelder (Drew Barrymore) is a 25- year old copy editor at the Chicago Sun-times.She longs to become a reporter, but her boss Gus (John C. Riley) does not think that she has what it takes.Josie is finally given the chance by Gus's boss to do an undercover piece to find out about kids in highschool today. With her and Gus's jobs on the line, Josie enters the school, as a seventeen - years - old student, searching for something to write about.Soon Gus realizes that Josie is over her head, and with the help of a hidden camera helps her find a piece to write about. After reviewing the tape he notices that Josie's English teacher is starting to have feelings for her, so he decides that she is to write a piece on the relationships between the teacher and the student, whether she wants to or not.
I give this film five stars. The reason for that is becauseI thought it was a funny movie that kept me entertained the whole time, without my mind wondering to something else. You do not have to be in Highschool to enjoy this movie. If you like to laugh or if you are a Drew Barrymore or David Arqutte fan - - you may want to give it a try. ... Read more

    Microsoft Natural MultiMedia Keyboard, K50-00001
Average Customer Review: 3.5 out of 5 stars
    Electronics

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

The trend toward adding extra function keys to keyboards to control specific parts of Windows or applications continues with Microsoft's introduction of the Natural MultiMedia keyboard. This device takes the ergonomics of Microsoft's Natural keyboard, with its split keypads, shaped surface, and wrist rest, and adds a variety of useful function keys.

Before plugging the Natural MultiMedia keyboard into the PS/2 socket on the back of your PC, it is necessary to install the included IntelliType Pro 2.2 software. It works with Windows 98 and later, though some hot keys require specific versions of applications, such as Internet Explorer.

The keyboard is styled in dark blue, cream, and grey, so it fits in well with other Microsoft peripherals. As with earlier versions of the Natural keyboard, the keys accessed by the left hand are separated from those intended for the right by being angled away, with a triangular spacer in the middle, above the Spacebar. The bottom-row keys, like Ctrl, Start, and Alt, are enlarged to make them easier to press, and the Spacebar itself can still be used with either thumb.

A new F Lock key, positioned to the right of F12, locks the row of function keys into alternate functions, such as Undo, Close, Send, and Print. This makes working with many applications, including e-mail clients, much quicker. There are a further 17 dedicated, special keys behind the function key row that handle things like music playback, opening the My Documents folder, starting the calculator, and switching the PC to sleep mode.

While this keyboard will undoubtedly make most users' lives easier, some "pick-and-peck" typists may have difficulty with the separated keyboard layout. --Simon Williams, Amazon.co.uk ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but it'll get the job done
i spend my entire workday in front of my computer so naturally i needed something more comfortable than the stock keyboard that was given to me by my empolyer. i use a natural pro at home and am very happy with it. the natural multimedia has a similar look, but feels very different.the keystroke is a lot smoother, almost feels spongy. the extra multimedia buttons on the top... i don't use them.oh yeah, and the keyboard is noticibly heavier and takes up more space than a stock keyboard...

there are two main things that really annoy me: the function keys (F1-F12) have been replaced by M$ with shortcuts for things like help, undo, redo, open, close, reply, fwd, send, spell, save, print.you can still use the F-keys, but you have to press the FLock button first.annoying.also, there is an oversized delete button -- it sits where the insert button and a normal sized delete button sit.

2-0 out of 5 stars Much different feel than previous MS Naturals
I'm a long term user of Microsoft Natural keyboards and am a programmer who types all day (and night).I needed a new one and found a deal on this version (it was cheaper than a new Natural Pro, I guess because it's not USB), but was glad that I tried it out in a store first. They've completely change the feel of the keys; they're soft and spongy, rather than crisp like the previous models (Natural Pro and Natural Elite). Some people might prefer this, but I definitely didn't and am going to stick with a Natural Pro.

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Keyboard
This is a solid keyboard (quite literally). the keys requireeffort to push, and accordingly the noise is quite loud. The upside is that the keyboard can take abuse.I am not a hard typer, but I made the adjustment fairly quickly. The F-Lock is off by default, which is very annoying. The included software allows you to see the sound card master volume on screen when you adjust it, which is the strongest selling point of this keyboard (though Logitech also has a similar feature). The extra function keys are not so helpful, there are many shortcuts through windows. One thing I do not like is the lack of programmable keys, you can remap any key, but there aren't ones to launch Word/Excel or free keys to launch some other program. The Intellitype Software is fine, and reconfiguring keys is not a problem.I would have given this keyboard 5 stars if the keys required less effort. ... I haven't had any problems playing CDs, whether they were bought CDs or CDs that I burned myself. The volume levels are good and there's a good range of volume. Some people complain that certain CD players don't play loud enough, but the volume level on this CD player goes quite high, so if you like your music loud, you can hear it loud. The radio function is great, with good reception.I especially like the jogdial, which allows you to move from track to track on CDs or from radio station to radio station with ease, and the remote control is an added bonus, although I don't use it that often.Over all, a great product with a reasonable price tag.

Sorry, this product was delivered -1 manual... (not from amazon - i might add! :) ). I heard it and can give some good sound for its size. If someone could please email me at dag6@kent.ac.uk, how you preset a station into it I would really appreciate it... The only function that is not clear at all on the radio.... Many thanks.... buy and enjoy....

P.S Remember to push the megabass button, it sounds much better with it! :)

I did not have the money for a 'shelf' system when one day this dandy caught my eye. I was immediatly taken by its style and color ( blue ). Also the brand name: Sony. I have nothing but good to say about this product. C.D. works and plays well; cassette works, plays, records perfect. The only thing that surprised me was the remote. It works just fine except I left the player, remote, and some cassettes in a carrying bag for a week or so and the batteries in the remote went dead. Other than that I'm thrilled with this product. ... Read more
